Breakfast was not that great. The staff at the cage where you have breakfast were not helpful and poorly presented.
Everything - modern, luxury, great service The toiletries did not look brand new which was surprising but this is a small issue which did not affect our trip
The Chateau Elan was a beautiful place to stay, the staff were brilliant! Every thing you could want was there, with a very well stocked minibar with wines and beers all reasonably priced. The linen and bathtowels were divine! The rooms/villas had patios that faced onto the golfcourse where in the afternoon kangaroos appeared and feed. We could not fault anything during our stay.
The first thing that struck me and my wife was the friendly and helpful staff. They are great crew and a breath of fresh air. Another few positives were the room size and design, the fit out and use of room space(i.e plenty of storage and shelving and bed backing to the bath). The room also had plenty of light. We stayed in the Cairo room which was not over bearing but tastefully displayed. When going to a hotel for a restful weekend the bed is very important and this bed was the bomb. We had no trouble sleeping and the massage feature was great. Yes sadly the room service menu is very basic and does seem to give much of a choice for someone who requires a gluten free diet. Also in the curry I ordered I have pieces of cartilage and not I was not too sure what would be in the next bite. I reckon you could easily bump up the quality and selection on the in room menu and of course the price aswell. I think in reflection to the room prices guests will have no dramas in paying 35-45 for a main meal if It was of decent quality. Breakfast was great, thankyou.
Concierge Eric very helpful & friendly; handy location to wineries, modern, spotless rooms, delicious buffet breakfast, Very inexperienced reception staff, maybe because hotel just opened. What's with the bath in the open as soon as you walk into the room?
Staff always available and willing to help, choice of eating options for dinner and breakfast, and luxury of overall hotel. A beautiful place to stay!
comfortable, close to activity we where there for (balloon flight)good location for wineries all good
Proximity to wineries and function that we were attending. Quiet and peaceful surroundings, and cleanliness of rooms and establishment.
Sauna & spa There were at least 12 ground floor empty motel style units as a couple in there mid sixties we given a top floor unit .we stayed 2 nights"KNOW one came t0 clean or remove wet towels clean rubish or make beds "front&rear balconies &stairs filthy ruined what should have been great holiday
Room and facilities were perfect for the 2 of us
Location.Friendly and helpful staff. Room facilities and balcony outllook, mind you tree types and their location close to our room did impede the view. Breakfast facilities and variety were good. Covered walkways also provided a good deal of comfort. A minor point, the shower recess was not watertight - there was a lot of water on the floor during and after showering.
Comfort, location of all the winerys.
The location was outstanding, and the surrounds excellent, this included the quiet and serene feeling lookoing out across the valley. The atmosphere within the room, and the generous space within the room made for a most comfortable and welcoming stay. All the staff we encountered were friendly and most helpful.
Comfortable bed and room room did not look over vineyards as advertised. Noisy due to weddings.limited eating options
loved the minibar, the fire and the very comfortable bed! was disappointed with the fact that such an otherwise luxurious suite did not have more cosy flooring, ie carpet, or at least a thick cosy rug. Also the staff member who checked us in was very cold and unwelcoming
Central to cessnock and hunter valley region.
Staff was friendly and helpful.Convenient location to shops and hunter valley wineries The sofa bed was uncomfortable noisy
Close to shops and club No balconies
Extremely friendly, easy-going staff. Good location, not a bad price at all. Room beautiful, facilities all up to date (sans LCD TV, but that's not particularly important) and perfectly functioning .
It was great our first get away in 11 years - great experience
Well laid out and roomy hotel, close to Cessnock and Hunter valley with good food and beer on site No flyscreens so you could leave windows open
It was nice and quiet Room could do with fly screens so we dont have to use the A/Cond so much. Unfortunately it was a hot day when we stayed
Nice meals at the Bisrro We had a group of rowdy hoons staying in nearby units that kept us awake until 4.00 AM
heart of the wine area & good food & beer - perfect for our needs.
Helpful staff No
Access to the Hunter Valley wineries Unable to get any food there as the crowds each night so big that the wait was over an hour for basic pub food - obviously a young persons hang out in the evenings
Onsite Day Spa was a relaxing experience. Furnishings outdated, lacked modern technology, basic furnishings were broken and clearly stained and bedding was uncomfortable. Extreamly overpriced for a 3star hotel.
Well spaced rooms away from eatery and entertainment Unable to have early check in or room to change for Winery Luncheon
The value for money and the location. The availability of restaurant staff.
