10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cathy & Maurice were very friendly and helpful, and looked after our needs exceedingly well. The bed in Les Glenans was extremely comfortable, and we slept well every night. Since we live in the countryside ourselves, we enjoyed the peaceful setting of the property, which was very close to the beautiful town of Ste Anne d'Auray and the Basilica. Cathy has a great sense of humour, and we were able to communicate well by also using sign-language and alternative words despite my elementary 'schoolboy French'. There were no misunderstandings since Cathy and Maurice took time with us to explain things. The breakfast each morning was very generous, and included some lovely Breton specialities which Cathy makes on a regular basis. Helpful directions were provided to enable us to experience the local area, too. We loved staying at Le Clos de Kerhouil !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely couple running this beautiful B&B home which is decorated with superb taste. Made us feel very welcome and booked us a beautiful seaside restaurant in Aury. Cathy's breakfast was magnificent. Dining table was set up with so much breakfast to chose from, we didn't want for anything. Highly recommend this place
Cons: Not a thing, could not fault anything.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts, Kate and Maurice, were so accommodating and great fun. We were very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent! Every day the breakfast was different. Kate also made cakes and yoghurts. We had jams, fruit, prunes, different breads and lovely coffee. Nothing was too much trouble and our hosts were very attentive to our needs. Also, the property was decorated to a very high standard and located perfectly for our needs. Our bed was very comfortable and the room of a good size.
Cons: A little more headroom in the bathroom would be a benefit. It is easy to hit your head on the ceiling.

Pros: PEACE! beautifully quiet and well positioned base. We had dinner our first evening, with another couple and their daughter, which was most enjoyable. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is really nice. It's a typical house from the 1600s that has been really well maintained. The host was extremely nice and didn't have an issue with me checking in quite late (7PM). The room was super spacious and the bathroom and shower were brand new. The bed was confortable, and there were tons of plugs around the room. The breakfast was sensational. Homemade bakeries and apple juice, plus fresh bread. I would come back again. Outstanding value for money. Location-wise, you definitely need a car to get there, but you're very close from the main sights around.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything! But most especially the wonderful care and attention the lovely owners lavished on us. They had laminated maps, and brochures and all manner of wonderful itinerary ideas, like a visit to Saint-Cado for our “artist’s eyes.” Françoise is a former teacher of the Breton language and culture, and her love and enthusiasm for her land was just brimming over. Monsieur made almost all of the wonderful breakfast goodies; the bread, the crepes, jams, apple compote, even the caramel sauce for his buckwheat crepes. Over the top! An absolutely Exception experience. Oh, and the accommodations were spacious and new . . . Wonderful attention to detail!
Cons: That we couldn’t stay with these wonderful people longer.

Pros: Nice room, with electric shutters, very modern, clean and quiet. Fully furnished with filter coffee-maker (coffee bags supplied), stove and microwave (but no oven), even bathrobes. Secure underground parking. Only about a kilometre from the very pretty St Goustain area, with its waterfront cafes.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern accommodation with free parking near to the centre of Auray. Great to have towelling robes and slippers for added comfort. We only stayed overnight it would have been better to have stayed longer so that we could of made use of the facilities on hand, as Auray is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants and bars.
Cons: Husband didn't like the optional breakfast price of 9 euros, per person, for continental breakfast. He said it wasn't worth the money but it saved us time looking elsewhere, as we had to continue on to our next destination.

Cons: The kitchen was poorly equipped with basic cutlery and minimal cooking implements. No sharp knives, wive glasses etc. Only dining space for two.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very modern well appointed apartment with a good location to explore Auray
Cons: We didn't use the facilities, bar etc as the site is designed for older residents and we were travelling with young children,

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. The place is located in a small quiet village away from roads, in an old traditional stone house, which is renovated. There is a beautiful small garden with lots of hortensias. The room is spacious, nicely decorated and has a small well-equipped kitchen. The breakfast is traditional French, with baguette, cake, jams, butter, cheese and coffee and is brought to your door in the morning in a basket. Having a car is recommended. If you drive to Kerbarch from the Auray direction, it may be more convenient to go to the next roundabout and turn around there, instead of doing a left turn directly. If you need, there is a big E.Leclerc hypermarket at Auray just within a 5-10 minutes drive. The area around has a lot of megalithic sites, but also many other interesting places, like Auray and Vannes, Quiberon peninsula, and the whole Gulf of Morbihan region. They all are close, most within half an hour drive, which makes the location excellent for exploring around.
Cons: The only downside is that provided towels were a bit smelly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice stay in this apartment. It was well stocked with all the necessary kitchenware and other items necessary for our stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large and well stocked. The owner and her husband are very nice. We generally didn't see her but her husband does the garden work so we ended up having some great conversations with him so we could ask questions and he could practice his English (and I could sometimes practice my miserable French!) About the only issue we had was very poor wifi the entire time along with pretty poor cell phone service, which made it impossible to do any additional research beyond what we'd done before we came. The location is very good if you're into all of the Neolithic sites but also for exploring all the lovely little towns along the coastline. We were pretty much the only Americans in the entire area so if English is your only language, you'll have some issues as there is very little in English anywhere (we were only the second Americans to ever stay at Hortensias.)
Cons: Just the wifi-
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room was spacious and well-decorated with a very large, comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good and was brought to our door in a hamper each morning. The home-made cakes were particularly good! The kitchenette was a big plus for us. It included a microwave oven and a two-ring induction hob - cooking our own food made a welcome change after eating in restaurants every night for two weeks. The house is just outside Auray, close to the megaliths of Carnac and to several lovely beaches and is a very good centre for exploring Southern Brittany.
Cons: The sensor for the lighting on the stairs up to our room was not working properly but this is a very minor point.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous garden and cute little town for taking walks. Room was huge and included a little kitchenette which was great for preparing our own meals. The host makes breakfast baskets and leaves them outside the door to your room so you can have a private breakfast in your kitchen.
Cons: Parking was a little tight and difficult to turn around.
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice newish hotel tucked away on a commercial park and next to the cinema, chain style restaurant and swimming pool. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room comfortable and spacious. As well as very good value for money. The restaurant too was good and the food well cooked and good value. Excellent walk in shower, tea and coffee facilities and bottled water in the room too. Would stay again when in Auray.
Cons: Minor niggles really, the breakfast we found expensive, although it was not as expensive as some hotels. They could do with another coffee machine as there was always a queue to use it and many people struggled to operate it (so tuition would help time taken to produce a cup!). The restaurant closed over the weekend although there is a restaurant next door (not vegetarian) and you need a car to get back into town and the roads can be busy.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb, the city itself a jewel.
Cons: There was nothing in particular that we didn't like. Maybe the coffee in the morning
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was opposite a car park so easy for parking, and great for access for the town. We were upstairs on the second floor over the bar, and had no trouble with the noise of the cafe. They were putting the tables away but it was 10:00. The room was cool. Breakfast was very good. And the bed was hugh.
Cons: The afternoon gentlemen bartender manager chap was dour (Odd) - He seemed somewhat uninterested he never smiled once. Everyone else was super nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location to discover Vannes, Carnac, Quiberon etc. Very nice market on Monday infront of hotel, parking, very good breakfast with super service, Merci beaucoup.
Cons: A bit more flexibility when we were asking for a little plate+knife to take to the room would have been nice...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is a bit surprising on the edge of the forest and river with woodland walks straight out of the door The approach past the school and national gendamerie looks a little off-putting, but it is fine. The location is excellent and within walking distance of the lovely old town and quayside. A good choice for us At breakfast we watched a nuthatch feeding its young in a nest up an oak tree as we were at that height a real treat
Cons: Dinner service was slow - insufficient staff for the number of diners But in the scale of things not really an issue
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location although if you are older clientele its quite a walk to the centre.
Cons: No air conditioning in rooms.
6.8 Good
Cons: Building ( particularly bedroom and dining room ) were very cold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was excellent value for money and a great location to explore the area. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Some element dated. They have tried to improve the decor with subtle touches but it's tired underneath. Typical older Best Western. No electric car charging stations. No air con would be a nightmare in the height of summer.
7.0 Good
Pros: Bathroom facilities good. Meals good.
Cons: Room very small, felt like a dormitory room. Awkward location, not so close to cafes, restaurants, etc.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated on the central ville the view to the front is wonderful. Situated on the main square. It is right next to one of the most beautiful town halls we have seen. It is a walk to the Cathedral and the place where Joan of Arc met her inquisitors, a meeting which allowed her mission to liberate France to continue. The restaurant next to the hotel was excellent. We did not have the breakfast but on passing through the dinning room wished that we had. It looked better than many. The proprietor was very kind and went out of his way to help.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good family room & car parking.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: A nice place with swimming pool.
Cons: Internet access is very limited, almost none.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good choice for breakfast and enjoyable dinner on first night (ate out on 2nd night). Useful access from ground floor room to car park although a bit surprised that there were no gauze curtains. Pool looked good but didn't try it.
Cons: I was there to play golf but the hotel reception didn't seem to appreciate that the club was about 200 metres up the road and completely separate. I needed to hire clubs so delay made me late for my tee time. May be failure of communication between Hotel and Brittany Ferries
6.8 Good
Pros: First off, I can not say enough good things about the staff, they were fantastic, and if it was just them I was rating, the it would be 10/10.. However Its location is well placed to discover the local area, but dont expect to be able to walk to a restaurant anywhere close by, but as a base, its adequate. The hotels main attraction is the pool, which is superb, even on a bad weather day, it was welcome and is well maintained. I was disappointed that it does not open until 1000 am which, considering it is not a manned pool, seemed a shame as I could not start the day with a nice swim.
Cons: the hotel itself is quite dated. It feels like they are trying, but its just not got there yet. The reception area is fine, but the corridor to the ground floor rooms was dark and quite intimidating, and felt like a throwback to the 1970s. The restaurant was also quite dated and the music played was so bad, it discouraged us from wanting to remain to be honest. Also, check the final price. We booked based on €265 for 3 people for 2 nights but with city taxes and breakfasts, and 1 drink each on both nights for 2 of us, the bill came in closer to €385 which did come as a shock, so be warned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff . Great food . Brilliant swimming pool
Cons: Leaving
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All the rest. Superb location and the hotel is well run and managed.
Cons: The internet connection. It was frugal and sluggish.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really helpful staff
Cons: Rooms on the small side
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Manager was VERY kind and helpful (his wife drove us to the nearby railway station when we took the train to the south of France and the manager met us at the station on our return). There was a tremendous array of breakfast food (with the exception of a 'full English). The evening meals were extremely good: a varied menu and extremely delicious. The outdoor pool was maintained at a very comfortable temperature and there was a constant supply of towels for those guests who wanted to use it.
Cons: We would have liked all the staff to have been wearing name tabs so that we could have address them by name.
