We were made to feel realy welcome by all the staff. The restaurant is stunning as its set in an old abbey. Very very good.
Very nice hotel with unique dining & breakfast facility. Diner is very expensive and there are plenty of nice restaurants in walkng distance.
Despite reception confirming our requirement for a non smoking room when we arrived we were subsequently sent to a smoking room a long way from reception and had to retrace our steps. There was not the least suggestion of appology for the inconvience this had caused us. I would have expected a more attentive approach from a hotel of this caliber
Fantastic check-in. I just mentioned my name and had everything confirmed in reply, including my table booking. No form-filling - just the key in my hand.
The friendliness at the reception was excellent! Bed was super comfortable! Wireless Internet is free and available everywhere in the hotel. Great location. Very stylish restaurant!
staff quality/service/wanting to please 1. standard room- cramped, not value for money 2. restaurant menu unchanged over a number of days just forces business out into town.
The environment, situation comfort and staff all helped to make a pleasurable stay No vegetarian choice on menu although chef did rustle something up
The hotel building is beautiful , set in a lovely garden with parking facilities near the city centre. Breakfast is expensive.
location Beds not very comfortable
Children well accommodated for, good food, spacious rooms, good outside space to play. Modern inside. Perfect for our stop over on the way back from the south of france. Wood chip on the walls in bedroom - made it look a bit outdated.
The reception staff on duty were very welcoming, and handled our booking in quickly and efficiently. A nice touch I thought was the discount voucher for the resteraunt just across the way. Thankyou for an agreeable sojourn. Directions to the hotel a little confusing. We saw the hotel from the road, but maybe due to the roads layout it took us some time to find the entrance.
Good location, clean, new, good decor
Having stayed in a variety of IBIS, Novotel, Kyriad & Campanile hotels over the years, we liked this new basic format from the Accor group. The hotel was well located and very near to the A71 interchange, great for a halfway stop-over, but not too near for traffic noise to be heard. It is brand new, with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, large beds and air-con. The buffet breakfast was excellent, very good value and plenty of it. There is no restuarant in the hotel, but it does have a bar. A new Courtepaille "meat feast" grill is only two minutes walk away. Plenty of on-site parking. Considering the room rate that includes breakfast, its excellent value for money in France and we would stay here again without question. The bathroom was a little on the small size with only enough space for one person at a time, but everything worked including the excellent shower.
Convenient to autoroute, clean tidy anf adjacent to restaurant.
New and fresh - very helpfull staff- good eating place next door- well priced! No it was very good value.
Efficient and friendly staff. Nice modern room. Pool is a welcome benefit after a long days driving.
Layout of the family room was excellent. The games area for the children was very good.Ideal stop over for a family on the way to spain. no tea or coffee making facility in the room
Great motorway hotel with good facilities, outdoor pool, free tea/coffee/water.
very good value clean and within 2 mins walk of a good food restaurant
I like mostly its cleanliness. The room was comfortable, espeicially the bed. It was very difficult to find the hotel (even though we used a GPS). The hotel area is under renovation and all the roads around are under re-building, so the view is not so atractive and walking to the center of town is not so nice.
A warm welcome. Could not make the TV in my son's room work.
Very well positioned and with friendly helpful staff. Comfortable, well designed bedroom and bathroom. Good, secure car-parking and in a beautiful part of France. Limited car-parking and booking is essential.
free internet, pleasant staff, information, good breakfast and very charming and quiet location no
The location was superb and the hotel was steeped in history. The welcome we received was excellent. The quality of the rooms and their cleanliness were of an extremely high standard.
Too hot in bedrooms, unable to adjust air con.
The location, lovely refurbished rooms, friendly staff and great breakfast! Wish they had more family rooms; it's difficult to get a reservation for three persons.
Bathroom facilities fantastic - bed very comfortable - nice to have tea making facilities in room locaton is very difficult - I am a seasoned driver used to finding my way round many cities both in uk and abroad but Bourges centre and this particular hotel is very diffcult.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and polite.
a very nice hotel, which we have stayed at before, and always include in our itinerary when planning our french driving holiday each year.
room comfort some rooms have no wardrobe
Excellent modern interior. Very helpful & friendly staff. Whilst the carparking is convenient and within the hotel site it caters for fewer cars than the number of rooms. It would be advisable when booking for guests to reserve a carspace as well.
We stayed in room 11. It was fantastic new hotel. Only a few rooms but was very cosy and the terrasse was lovely. They also have a public terrasse on the top level for all hotel users. Room and bed were really fabulous and all new mod cons. I woudl definately stay in this room again. They have all toiletries ytou need and a hairdryer. Big tv . Bed was soooo comfortable. owner was kind and they were polite enough to speak French to me when other hotels automatically switch to english when they realise you are not rench. The parking was a bit tight but again the owner moved my car for me. Polite staff- I wish them the best of luck. Only two drawbacks - you can't dial out from your room and the tv was not working in the room the night we stayed and there was no cd player. Nonetheless, the staff were lovely and offered us a different room to stay in if we wanted to watch tv but the room was great and we enjoyed some reading and relaxation that night instead. One other comment- room 3 smelt like bleach - odd as other rooms were fine... even though room 3 was huge fab bathroom and bed etc... less cleaning products and it woudl be amazing...
Walk to Bourges train and historic downtown a huge plus. Outstanding decore. Large room with private terrace on the top floor. Comfortable bed. Modern bath. Very nice cold breakfast of high quality food. Very helpful staff. This is my second stay. No space to but your lap top. (But who wants to work in such a fine setting anyway?)
The postcode and Latitude and Longitude for use with SAT NAV are completely wrong meaning that you are directed to a small village several miles from the hotel. The staff on the phone were very helpful when I queried it and are obviously used to the problem.
Good reception, clean room, restaurant is ok To expenisive for a highway hotel
Hotel itself was nothing special and the decor was looking a little tired. However the location was very good for an overnight stop when travelling down through France and the pool was a godsend for encouraging tired children to behave! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The food was fine as well.
Service in Restaurant very good, and pleasant None really
Simplicity, location Reservation made at booking.com was not met at the hotel; will not make reservations through booking.com in the future.
Excellent check in staff. Good food, reasonable menu. Clean modern rooms Restaurant service was not great, but was adequate. Everything quite pricey
It was well situated, the pool was warm and the children received a cuddly toy. We arrived we were given toys but receptionist was miserable. The fridge did not work neither did the air conditioning and one light. The room and sheets stank of cigarettes. We were told of only 2 times which we could have evening meal. The menu was limited and extremely expensive especially if you wanted Wine 28 euros!! The waiting staff took 20mins to take our order. The pasta was bland, the salmon was just a circle of salmon with nothing exciting. but decorated nicely. 6 meals arrived together leaving one to wait a further 7 minutes. The Lamb was well overdone even when we asked for it to be med rare. To top it all we were invoiced twice and we are now being charged by the cc card for the money to be put back in A/C
too close to the motorway
Hotel is ideally placed for a stop over while driving from the south of France, restaurant is good , and rooms are comfortable. Easy to find just off the motorway Food was a little expensive with drinks overpriced. Breakfast at 13 euro was expensive but extensive and good quality. Kids under 12 were free.
En route from the south to north of France this hotel provided a convenient stopping point. Up to the expected Novotel standards
This was an excellent hotel- ideally situated in the centre of France. Great food and recently refurbished bedrooms. Pool was a delight. Commercial centre setting but still pleasant enough
The renovated bedroom and bathroom, much better than previously There was no restaurant facility, and we had not been told that in advance.
Nothing, it was in a poor state of repair, the swimming pool was filthy and the first thing you noticed on arrival. Cannot comment on anything else as it was Shut! Everything
Yes very nice but just the lack of english was a prob Bar shut to early ha ha and no meals on sunday
Value for money Broken shower head holder in bathroom.
Comfort. Helpful and amiable reception by the manager. Accommodation usually only found in much higher classification hotels. Large very clean room and very good breakfast (mainly French but with ham and cheese thrown in). Overall excellent and highly recommended. Not totally clear on Booking.com if the room is with or without air conditioning. Make sure by telephoning hotel if travelling in hot summer months.
Friendly, helpful reception and dining room staff, fresh clean rooms, excellent food. There was nothing to dislike about the accomodation.
nothing When we arrived the hotel was closed, it took 20 minutes for someone to turn up and let us in. In the evening the bar closed at 8.30 and we were told we had to leave the bar area and basically either go out or go to our rooms. Noone was on site at the hotel overnight.
Certain staff were not very helpful and we we double charged for drinks when we were checking out and received no apology
not much lack of staff at 7.45 am. standard of external maintenance very low.room very basic and not worth the money compared to many other hotels stayed in fir less cost. everything about the hotel suggested a hotel in decline.
Basic accommodation but helpful and charming host
The breakfast was fantastic! The sheets and bedding smelled rather musty in the downstairs room.
Fantastic Location great character, ideal stop off if driving through france
the hotel was comfortable and clean. The owner was helpful and had breakfast iwth us which was a nice touch. She also arranged or us to have dinner at a local restaurant
Whilst we were ony there for one night, the proprietors were welcoming and friendly. Rooms pleasant and setting nice. Children enjoyed the pool. Slightly hard to find from the map provided.
Lovely converted farm buildings in convenient country location but within easy access of town.
Beautiful location. Good size room - well appointed. Very good breakfast No complaints
Big and cozy room. Helpful stuff.
Very friendly and helpful hosts. Interesting 1500s old farm buildings. Quaint bed and breakfast setting.
Warm welcome, great swimming pool and plenty of room for a family of five to roam about.
Friendly staff, location and parking
Friendly English speaking staff
Ease of access to rail station, free internet in lobby
Private parking, good location, helpful staff, good breakfast All Ok - as expected.
great bar and restaurant rooms very basic and quite old
restaurant food and service
Secure parking was important to us n/a
It's a beautiful hotel. It looks charming and still is modernly comfortable to stay at. (meaning the beds are made for all size people instead of only French sized ones :) Location: It's a long walk to the center of town. So it's only practical if you're traveling by train (next to trainstation)
Comfortable, well located and well priced -
professional staff and clean room. Good breakfast in restaurant, but fairly poor if ordered to room. Room was extremely small.
great location and stylish interior
Staff were really warm and welcoming. No bar, or residents lounge.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and a shame we had to rush off on our journey. We did have some difficulty getting to the hotel late in the evening. The written instructions from booking.com did not help as finding street names in the dark can be difficult. Had to phone the hotel for further instructions and took us two attempts! The staff were, however, extremely helpful and understanding.
The proprietor and his wife both spoke English and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. Breakfast was expensive but plentiful. Perhaps just a little pricey - wouldn't stop us staying again though.
Good position nera to city center
The beds were very comfortable, I had a very restful sleep a good 8 hours which is unusual for me
Didn't think the restaurant choice & quality was very good, didn't like the fact that the rooms are external from reception
There were big pot holes at the main entrance and it was difficult not to scrape the car on entry and exit. Maybe this is not Campanile's responsibility but 2 or 3 bags of asphalt would have fixed it in half an hour. We have used Campanile lots of times and know that this is not typical but it could easily put off a first-time user. Please get it fixed!
The hotel was eay to find and fulfilled our needs which were literally a bed to sleep in. We booked 2 rooms, one for 3 people and one for 2 but the room for 3 was identical to the room for 2 with the exception of a bed underneath another. It was more expensive too.
Manager opened up for breakfast at 05.30 to suit customers requirements There could have been more tea & coffee
After a long journey it was good to to stop somewhere where all 9 of us could rest, have a drink and a meal then sleep in comfy beds ready for the onward journey.
The hotel was in a quiet area. The staff were very helpful The food in the hotel was a bit expensive
Easy to locate .We used as a stop over on way to and from the South of France. Not as impressed with breakfast choice as other year 's at other Campanile's.Also no itemised bill for dinner previous evening. On the whole though for convenience and safe feel of location when parking with bikes trailer etc would use again.
Found it difficult to book in as we arrived late, machine did not recognise our booking number we where given.
Convenient location between C. Ferand and Paris. Satisfactory restaurant and room quality Nothing significant
Room was clean with large bathroom also spotlessly clean, breakfast typical french fare but all fresh and plenty of it. On site parking not offered fortunately we arrived on a Sunday when on street parking is free. We did however have to unpack the car because of lack of secure parking
An enjoyable stay, with very helpful staff
Good location, close to a couple of bars & restaurants. Lovely boloungerie next door which not only opens nice & early but provids an excellent, cheaper breakfast alternative. Room a touch small but didn't spoil anything. If you can't walk far (like one of our party) it can be a bit of a walk into the main town. As with most hotels we thought the cost of the breakfast was way over priced, however the little boloungerie next door was great. Cheap pasteries & coffee.
Central location, friendly staff, fair value for money in the quadruple family room Some previous guest had been smoking in the room.
rooms were clean and comfy although a little hot reception staff helpful and breakfast good
Clean room and comfortable bed. Go to sister hotel (Le Berry) for a good meal. Difficult to find. No directions on website. It is actually right opposite the railway station.
Good hotel for overnight stop, but not longer break. Very noisy from road traffic outside front of hotel. Opposite station (although could not hear trains).
Good food at the hotel opposite which is attached to this hotel, and a good breakfast. The room was clean and the shower was good. We stayed at the front of the hotel which was facing the square. It was very noisy for most of the night and didn't help with the sleep. If I stayed there again it would have to be in a rear room away from the square. No air conditioning at this hotel which is reflected in it's budget price.
check in across road at du berry was ok, room was basic but clean, car park free but tiny. Coffeee and cakes at du berry on terrace was good for breakfast.... no checkin staff, steps up to front door, steps up from car park, tiny car park, narrow twisty stairs, tired old decor to room, room barely ok but clean , tinyest toilet in trhe world , small showewr, but both clean.
Reception staff were friendly and the room was clean and fine for one overnight stop. We thought we would be nearer the centre of Bourges, whereas it was a good 15 minute walk.
The whole visit was very very pleasant Werent any
The rooms were great with tea + coffee - a bonus - and spa baths which actually were rather unpredictable - instructions needed! Beds were very comfy. The hotel was further from town than I had understood - not helped by the fact that we were there in snow so any walking was difficult. Also we appeared to be the only guests which was all a bit spooky' we had to let ourselves in at 9.30pm and the hotel appeared deserted. The bar was not open at all.
Very clean, confortable and cheap
Free internet access, the small fridge, bathroom and shower facilities the constant fight to get the air conditioning to be kept on.
The room were very nice and the breakfast was really good
The room comfort was first class with great in room facilities, easy location for the city centre. Closed reception
Very new and recently renovated. Nicely decorated. Lovely large bathroom. While efficient, the service was somewhat unfriendly. Room itself was a bit small.
The hotel is well furnished and has large bathrooms. It is in a reasonable location on a road that is not too busy even at "rush hour". The walk to town take ten minutes at most. Good tea and coffee making facilities except one bad point. The plastic cups supplied for tcmf were entirely inadequate, they make the fairly thin cups provided by Campanile look sturdy by comparison. Luckily we had our own picnic cups. The hotel must provide a better cup for hot drinks.
Ample parking, good breakfast, convenient for town centre, tea/coffee facilities in room Poor directions to hotel
