Beautiful room, common spaces and grounds. Run by a true gourmet chef and his family. The dinner was superb with an amazing wine list all at more than fair prices.
I can imagine it would be a pretty location in good weather.
The main reason we booked was because there was a restaurant which had good reviews. However, it was closed on the Monday when we stayed. The owners weren't friendly. One of them did not even acknowledge us. The breakfast was quite poor. Croissants not fresh and over-ripe bananas in the fruit bowl which I would not serve to anyone. The room was cold and there was no bar. Sadly an all-round disappointment.
The property is located on a tidal inlet and the coastal walk trail, in a 150+/- years old former mill. The area is fairly rural and very peaceful. Numerous paleolithic sites are in the area, too. The owners prepare excellent dinners with reservations the day before.
Only criticism is that the queen-size bed in our room is very soft and the mattress may be due for replacement soon.
Lovely location the property runs down to the river with a very restful ambience. Fantastic food - one of the best menus we’ve ever had. Rooms simple and traditional French but comfortable. We cycled here and the Auberge is perfectly situated on the cycle route V5 Littoral
The owner, (who is also the fantastic chef), and his wife do not easily relate to their guests, and can appear cool and un-welcoming.
Beautiful garden right next to the water. The food was excellent.
