Pros: The setting was just beautiful - that view with a glass of wine ahhhh! Phil and Kev were also fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble and their stylish home was a great place to spend a week. We also really enjoyed the surrounding area and visited Gaillac, Albi, St Antonin (for kayaking on the Aveyron River - highly recommended!) and the vineyards of course!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, our hosts Phill and Kev, who welcomed us so warmly and made everything for us to enjoy our stay! The interior is so lovely and everything super duper clean. Breakfast was awesome with a wide variety - cheeses, fresh fruit, croissants etc. Would come here any time again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Maison Murier was absolutely perfect. Phill and Kev were the perfect hosts, we received a warm welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. We particularly enjoyed our table d'hotes evening, sharing a lovely home cooked meal with the hosts and other guests, the food was excellent and very good value. Breakfast every day was great with lovely fresh fruit, pastries and home made jams and compotes, the hosts use home grown ingredients wherever possible. The room had been beautifully refurbished retaining the French charm but with a modern en suite bathroom and the views over the French countryside from the bedroom were incredible. The bed was very comfortable and there are even USB sockets to make charging phones easier! The property is stunning and full of French character in a beautiful, peaceful setting with fantastic views across the countryside. The pool area is great and everything is very well maintained with lots of thoughtful extras like hammocks in shady areas. The property is perfectly located for exploring the local area, it sits within the Tarn's "golden triangle", offering easy access to Albi, Gaillac and Cordes-sur-Ciel. There are a number of restaurants within driving distance and Phill and Kev gave a long list of recommendations. We also visited the market at Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, which we highly recommend. Overall, we highly recommend Maison Murier and hope to return in the future!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Phil & Kev are amazing hosts, they make you feel at home straight away and make sure you are pampered during your stay at their lovely old French vineyard. The view from the house and pool overlooking the countryside is simply amazing, the rooms are very well decorated and even better thought of. The breakfast, as well as all the available home made pastries, snacks, icecreams and drinks just couldn't be better. And we can't even begin to describe the lovely table d'hotes they organize... And just in case, they also have quite an extensive list of recommendations in the vicinity. We feel as if we came as guests, and left as friends. We just have to come back to Maison Mûrier soon!
Cons: Nothing we can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we entered the gate, we felt truly welcomed. It wasn't long before I felt like I was staying with an (immensely accommodating) old friend. Phil and Kev have really outdone themselves with the Maison... down to the little considerate details like providing amenities like mosquito spray. This was truly one of the best travel experiences I've had- we got to see the beautiful France countryside, warmth and great conversation, and even relaxation by the pool. I'll definitely be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Phill and Kev were the perfect hosts, from the initial warm welcome to our departure. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Phill Kindly gave us a lift to a nearby venue on our first night. Breakfast every day was great with everything you need with pastries, home made jams and compotes and wonderful coffee. The room had been beautifully refurbished retaining the French charm and stunning views over the French countryside. The property is stunning and full of French character in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The pool area is great and inviting, but unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough to use :( - can't wait to go back when it is warmer. We highly recommend Maison Murier and hope to return in the future!”
Cons: Nothing - it was perfect!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay! We spend a couple of days in La Cour Verte and it was absolutely fabulous! Thanks for s is a place where hospitality taken to another level - it feels more like you are a guest in your old friends' house rather than a hotel. Everything was very personal, stylish and high quality: from lovely room to home cooked breakfast served by the owner. The cherry on top was the experience that we had on arrival where my husband asked whether any shops were open late at night and as it was too late Bernard gave him a piece of bread with some amazing cheese and glass of rose! "Acec plaisir" and free of charge. What is it if not the top of friendliness and hospitality? Highly recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully renovated 18th century house, 100 metres from the centre of Gaillac, yet in a relatively quiet one way street. Large rooms, excellent bathrooms. Lovely French breakfast, with good, home made touches, e.g. jams, cakes. Happy and friendly hosts
Cons: Some British travellers may not like the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, but, in this part of France, it's not unusual. Slightly more unusual is the lack of a tv in the rooms, but great if you want a quiet holiday
5.5 Okay
Pros: The owners were very nice. Bernard (?) came out to the car for us as we couldn't find the hotel as it was just a doorway in the street with a very small sign that we couldn't see.. Then he assisted us with finding a parking space, as there was no parking at the hotel. Bathroom adequate. Bed was OK. Breakfast ok.
Cons: We understand that these people had not had the place for long and were trying hard. We were on the top floor with lots of stairs (no lift, but he did help with our luggage). We nearly fainted when we saw how many levels of stairs we had to climb with bags. My wife has arthritis and found this very difficult. We took the bags down when we had breakfast so we did not have to go back up the stairs. We were not advised about the stairs. No television. Breakfast was served outside in a garden with lots of dead plants in pots. Not pleasant. I believe there are tables inside but we were not offered even though it was cool. They need to try a lot harder. Start with signage outside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My fiancée and I thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at La Cour Verte. The hosts were very welcoming and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent. It is ideally located in the heart of Gaillac and easy to find.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room, lovely and very helpful staff and a quite superb breakfast in the garden.
Cons: More of a b&b than a hotel, perhaps but the very reasonable price reflects that. No hotel parking, but public parking close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent setting, lovely garden and very friendly hosts
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: lovely house and lovely hosts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Cour Verte is a lovely elegant townhouse that has been beautifully renovated by the current owners. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. And the shady courtyard is perfect for breakfast, dinner or for just relaxing in over a glass of local wine. But the best part is Bernard and Delia who welcomed us and provided such exceptional hospitality. Bernard is a great host and Delia is a wonderful cook, but first and foremost they are just thoroughly nice, and fun, people. Galliac is a lovely town with lots of interest in the town and in the surrounding area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Benard and Delia were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond our expectations. Benard kindly drove us to a wedding which really helped us out as we didn’t have a car and taxis are few and far between. The hotel is very chic and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious! Gaillac is a very quiet town but would be a good base for exploring if you hire a car. Highly recommend staying at La Cour Verte!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people, went out of their way to help, big room, great beds & exceptional breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was made instantly welcome by the host Marie. ‘Au Nid de la Madeleine’ is round the corner from all shops in Gaillac, a charming historical town. My large bedroom and en-suite facilities were kept spotlessly clean. I was also very pleased with the generous Continental breakfast served every morning. Marie also prepared a very nice meal from a set menu on the evening before my departure - this is an optional extra. Guests are free to use all facilities in the kitchen, which is well equipped, and they can always make themselves at home in the very comfortable living room. As expected, Marie is very knowledgeable on facilities in the local area, and there is a wealth of information on the Tarn area of France - in both Reception and the living room. I felt very much at home and would stay here again if visiting Gaillac.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Toilet is not part of the room or bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner was very, very nice, and she even gave us a book as a gift! She made us feel like at home. Everything was really perfect! There is a nearby public parking at 3 minutes away.
Cons: Nothing at all!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: just the perfect place to stay. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and the large bed very comftable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was great and the room was very big. I was worried about the parking, but there is a free parking area just a few blocks away. Overall a lovely stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: our host was very welcoming and friendly. the hotel is more like a family home, with its own personality and charm, beautifully decorated. the bedroom faced the street, but was remarkably quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. we were too tired and not very hungry, so our perusal of the town was limited, but we stopped at a grocery store for simple-to-make food and prepared it in the full kitchen, then relaxed in the very comfortable lounge until we were ready for bed. breakfast the next morning was plenty, and good, and we were very happy with our host and the hotel itself. we recommend it as a pleasant change from standard hotel rooms.
Cons: we weren't very happy with gaillac, but the hotel more than made up for our disappointment.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay with Isabelle and Daniel who made us very welcome. We enjoyed the lovely swimming pool and wonderful breakfast with beautiful views over the valley. Would highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fantastic find this was! La Pigario is truly one exceptional residence. Conveniently located between most of the pretty villages around the Tarn (Albi / Cordes-sur-Ciel / Gaillac / Penne all very easily accessible by car), this villa is a gem. The place itself is beautiful, the rooms are very spacious, well-heated and offer a magnificent view. But what truly sets this place out are its owners - Isabel and Daniel. What fantastic hosts! Isabel's cooking is to die for (I would recommend you try her dinners whilst staying at this place) and Daniel is extremely easygoing and charmful. 10/10 property, by all means. Would definitely recommend it for couples, families or even groups of friends. Can't wait to return - hopefully in Summer - to make full use of the property's pool and bbq area!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Isabelle and Daniel were fantastic hosts and provided an excellent breakfast and table d'hote. The B&B location is very quiet and in a rural location with a wonderful view of the valley. Our room was large and very clean with a very comfortable bed. Shower was excellent as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at La Pigario. Isabelle and Daniel were gracious, kind, generous and extremely helpful. Pros: The owners were a delight and made us feel very welcome. The room was comfortable with a very large bed. We had evening dinner on the first night which Isobel cooked to perfection (confit of duck) together with an excellent red from the local Chateau which Daniel had chosen well. Rounded off with great breakfasts, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most delightful hosts - Daniel and Isabelle. Beautiful views. Extremely comfortable. Great breakfast with homemade jams and Daniel's French toast (yum!) So many little extras from our hosts that were so enjoyable. Loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: There is absolutely nothing to dislike here!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Nice owner. The rooms are beautiful. The house itself is very nicely renovated. Very close to the city centre.
Cons: No shower, only a (very nice free standing) bathtub in our room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Mme. Marie made us most welcome, and provided outstanding breakfasts ( especially her crepes and cake!). The room was very comfortable, and the air -conditioning was not only a bonus, but a necessity, enabling us to sleep at night during the “canicule”. The small garden was a delight, and the almost exclusive use of the pool was wonderful for us and made our holiday. The house is within easy walk of the town centre, and a number of restaurants. Parking, however, is a problem ( see below ).
Cons: Parking. There is no readily available parking outside or to the side or rear of the house. Parking is only available on a public, open air site about 200 to 300 yards away at the top end of the street, out of sight of the house. It is free, but not desirable for a long stay, and with non-local registration!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was most charming and welcoming. The property was full of character and elegantly decorated. The rooms were spacious and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was taken outside by the lovely pool. There was everything you could want from delicious croissants to homemade pancakes, fruit, yogurt etc.
Cons: Could not fault our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marie was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She helped us to sort a taxi to a wedding and even offered a lift if that didn't work out. The service over the weekend was excellent, as was the breakfast and the the room we stayed in! Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very romantic place in a beautiful home ! The owner is very friendly and has obviously taking a very good care to restore this estate to make it charming .
Cons: nothing ... the village is not great though but it truly does not matter as it is close to tons of events and attractions!

Le Nid de l'Ecureuil - Brens - Building
7
9.4 Excellent (143 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Brens, Le Nid de l'Ecureuil is in a rural location, a 1-minute drive from Philadelphus Thomas Natural History Museum and 5 minutes from Gaillac Miniature Trains. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Although technically part of the village of Brens, Le Nid de l'Ecureuil is in fact close to the city of Gaillac and a good starting point for visiting it. The room was large, clean and well-equipped (efficient air-conditioning and wifi). The owners were extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast (taken in the nice garden as the weather was perfect) was excellent. Although the house is close to a rather busy road, the windows are double-glazed so noise was not a problem.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were lovely and despite our language barriers we had a good chat. The breakfast was enormous and we did not have heart to tell them it was too much. Room was nicely decorated and comfortable.
Cons: A minor issue with no shower gel, soap bars, etc. The home is not far from the town but the road was too dangerous to walk so have to use car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location with off-road parking, excellent breakfast and friendly and accommodating hosts. Walking distance to Gaillac which has a good selection of restaurants (try La Table du Sommelier). Coffee and tea available to make at any time (unusual for France).
Cons: All good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were able to make ourself an evening meal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location - great for visiting hill top villages, fêtes, markets, Gaillac wine country (the best wine from grape types you’ve never heard of). Walking distance to Gaillac, although the road is busy. Parking is free in Gaillac, no figuring out how to use the pay stations. Our room was spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated. (Each room has a different theme) The hosts are very friendly, anxious to provide anything you might want or need ( offered salad to go with our bread, cheese and fruit meal!( there are great lounging chairs, table, chairs, kitchen with fridge, microwave right beside the leisure area. Breakfast was generous, with proper coffee and hot milk to mix in a bowl if you wanted. Also various homemade sweet breads, along with croissants and baguette. Delightful experience.
Cons: If you like to sleep with the window open, then you may be aware of the road noise, for the room on that side of the house. With the window closed, very much quieter and definitely acceptable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast delicious and plentiful. The décor is quirky without being annoying. The owners (whose names we didn’t catch) are kind and helpful, but speak very little English (not a problem if you’re French is any good). There is free parking in the garden of the house, and the wifi is an acceptable speed. Recommended, if only you can find it.
Cons: One thing you must know about this place is that if you book through booking.com, they give you the incorrect address. Booking.com claims that it is in Brens, whereas it’s actually on the outskirts of Gaillac. As we were without sat-nav or smartphone, we had to navigate using the map. It was a challenge, and we ended up phoning a friend in the UK and getting them to guide us in using Google Maps!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic family run business in a great location and within walking distance of Gaillac. Outdoor breakfast with fantastic home made jams and preserves. Nothing was too much trouble and the facilities were great.
Cons: Nothing, faultless.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Alexis & his partner were very welcoming hosts. Alexis helped me with the luggage up the stairs and he has a good sense of humour. There was a good choice of food at breakfast. The beds in our room were able to be raised which enabled us to get a good night's sleep.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was very friendly, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was large and the air conditioning was efficient and quiet.
Cons: The room was very noisy due to the fairly busy road outside. It was so hot that we had to leave the window open overnight but there was a lot of traffic passing. The signage to find the property was very small and we missed it..twice ! The shower fitment was in need of repair and the water was barely warm.

The castle is extraordinarily decorated, not only by works of the owner himself, a well known painter, but also by many objects from various periods and diverse parts of the world. The castle has been perfectly renovated, the true work of passion and dedication.

Pros: We had a lovely greeting by Catherine with a glass of wine in her garden by the Tarn. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and spacious. It was very quiet here so we both had an excellent nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. Catherine was very friendly, and even though we have very little french we manage to talk about subjects that interested Catherine and my partner, Grace. The breakfast was perfect for what we needed to continue our journey.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were exceptionally welcoming, engaging and helpful. Enjoyed the privacy, tranquility and views of the site.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The couple that own the B+B are the most wonderful hosts- really friendly, wanted to help in whatever way they could and happy to chat! They really did seem to want us to enjoy all that there was to at the property. The view was incredible, the pool was lovely and the decor of the whole property was excellent. The food was also absolutely delicious although it would have been perfect if there had been an option for eggs at breakfast (but that is just me!)
Cons: It was on the pricey side for what you got in terms of room (we took the best room- deluxe suite) in that the bed was a portable bed and there was only shampoo as a toiletry in the bathroom. That said though it was again in excellent condition and the decor was exceptional. The communal areas were exceptional also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality, the ambience of the maison, the decor ... everything!
Cons: Nothing!Impeccable stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This a simply wonderful place to stay. The hosts could not have been more solicitous and helpful. Their food is delicious; their house is beautiful and their company is enchanting. Staying at La Domaine de Perches is a special experience. I can’t imagine how it could be improved.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and elegant; lovely pool; hosts were interesting
Cons: Bed and bedding was not as comfortable as should be for a lovely place of this caliber.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautifully presented house in a perfect quiet location overlooking rolling hills and vineyards. With a car it is easy to see the surrounding villages and further afield, if you can tear yourself away from the stunning pool overlooking the rolling countryside to the hills beyond. Wonderful hosts who make their guests feel extremely welcome and relaxed. A very special and beautiful property, to which we will definitely be returning.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: If you like modern impersonal accommodation then this is not for you! Going in the door was like stepping into a museum mixed with Alice in Wonderland. Old newspapers (1894), Mannequins dressed in 18th Century Dress, dolls, teddy bears, the list goes on and on. It was fascinating and worth staying there for this aspect alone. Try it at least once! Breakfast was good.
Cons: On street parking was OK but with no guarantee of a place.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Way overpriced The property is a mediocre bed and breakfast place in a house situate in village close to nothing It may be worth 30 to 50 euros per night Not what you expect for 100 Eros per night in a location like where it is May be the owners does not know what hotels in that price range offer Worst they don't accept credit card and that is not noted on booking .com advertisement We had to travel 6 miles to city to get cash to pay the host before check out Their check in time is 5 pm And check out strictly 11 am Breakfast is coffee and bread pieces with butter and juice Family pleasant when you arrive The
Cons: Highly overpriced may be worth 40 to 50 euros per night Remote single family house in a village Owners does not accept credit card And it is not noted on the booking information We had to drive to near by city 6 miles away to get cash from bank It should have been informed earlier We checked in late at 930pm We asked for hour late check out at 12 They were upset that we did nt check out at 11 The reviews on this property does not reflect reality I shattered my faith in the truthfulness of reviews on booking .com sadly Next time I will do my own research It not a property for people willing to spend hundred plus Eros per night Realistically it may be worth 30 or 50 euros
