Pros: Mr.Peter was a very friendly host and his place was very comfortable and just had everything perfect. He was very responsible in informing and guiding us throughout our stay(ex informing about road blocks, sightseeing guidance etc.) which was very helpful and made our travel very easy.We would recommend this place without any second thought.
Cons: There is nothing as such. However the access to the place was a little hard initially as we had to drive up and down the hill each time we visited any sightseeing place. Nevertheless the place was very beautiful and worth driving.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and serene location family run and owner is very helpfull with planning day
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was conveniently located near Interlaken. You can't see the lake but the mountain view is excellent. Room is not big but clean enough. Peter was a great guy and super warm and welcoming. Great value for money choice in Interlaken area.
Cons: Kitchen was shared and could be jammed at rush hour. Bunk beds are excellent for kids yet might be a little difficult for adults. Sound proof was weak and there happened to be a lot of people during our stay. Driving to the hotel needs a little extra caution if you are not familiar with hill roads.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was beautiful and Peter was a great host with lots of tips about the surroundings. We had a wonderful stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute & practical shop for food, etc on site. Well organized & appointed kitchen, very practical room with access to outdoor dining. Welcoming host.
Cons: Wish the outdoor wood heated hot tub had been working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the mountain with beautiful views. Friendly staff and great value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a cozy wooden house with separate family rooms, shared kitchen and shared terrace. Every room has it`s own cupboard with dishes and other kitchen tools, you can prepare your own food in the shared kitchen or on a fireplace grill outside. The room is simply but clean and cozy with a private bathroom. Wifi worked perfectly. The host is very helpful and communicative. Very good value for money. The last but not the least is location - amazing place with mountains overview where you can enjoy your dinner or morning coffee. Ir takes some time to drive up (~15 min) but once you are there, you do not regret. We stayed for 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer!
Pension Staldacher - Hasliberg - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host always willing to give guidance on the local area. Excellent position for the lovely house with amazing views and very near the gondola lift. Wide choice of delicious food at breakfast and a garden to sit in.
Cons: It was all excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I could not have had a better time at Pension Staldacher. The location was wonderful as it’s set in a small village away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The 180 degree view is stunning with snow-capped mountains to one side and a view all the way down the valley to the other. The hosts were absolutely wonderful. They are so nice and welcoming that we felt right at home, even for a 10 day stay. I could not recommend highly enough. If you’re reading this, just book your stay and enjoy!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I agree with all the positive reviews before, incl. the view, the loveliest host, the room - and Im very glad that we chose this place for our 5 days stay. There are only two rooms available at a time (i.e. max two couples staying as guests at a time) and the village is set for locals (not tourists!). The room is spacious (could open two large suitcases at ease), spotless clean, bright and comfy, wifi works no problem, kettle/cutlery/fridge are available, and have terrace seating area. The host Pia is like the nicest aunt you always wanted, who looks after you in very non-intrusive way. As for the premise - Hasliberg is quiet, beautiful and not crowded with tourists and tourist traps. Its surrounded by mid-high elegant mountains (I specifically meant pointy ragged peaks) which may not be Matterhorn or Jungfrau, but has its own prettiness. (on a sunny day, you can see Eiger and Mönch in between the other peaks). There are ranges of both summer and winter hiking routs in the local area, along with ski accesses in the winter time.
Cons: You can go anywhere in Switzerland with public transport and they are well connected. This is true for Hasliberg too, however as a visitor the flexibilities of car might still be needed, especially in the evenings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accomodation has an amazing location. The view is absolutely amazing. You can see the glacier and the lake from the garden / terrace while having breakfast or drinking a glass of wine. Very relaxing. The host was very kind and helpful. She made us a great breakfast every morning. Very kind family.
Cons: Nothing

The breakfast delicious and the room beautiful with thoughtful touches. If you are in this area this is a must stay accommodation...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: clean, sense of history and tradition, beautiful mountain view
Cons: none
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property is located close to the gondola which takes you directly to the skiing resort (Meiringen-Hasliberg). We had a room with a balcony from which the view on the surrounding mountains was excellent. The room had a separate entrance and a private bathroom (only we were using it) which was outside of the room. The facilities were very clean, quiet, and lovely decorated. The breakfast was very good and freshly prepared on a daily basis. The property owners are very friendly and help you with everything, e.g., for booking restaurants, tips for skiing etc. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely book again.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: We were travelling with the baby and it was perfect. Lovely cosy place, beautiful location, great breakfast, close to lift.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything charming, comfortable, breakfast fabulous. Charming location and good skiing a short walk away.
Cons: Sole complaint is the shower in our room is so small one keeps hitting the control lever which is an unpleasant shock; plus the soap dish is a ridiculously wide grate so soap falls through every since shower no exception, when bending over is very difficult in such a tiny shower. They should use liquid soap pumps for the sake of non-children.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is located amidst breathtaking beauty. It's quite far off from Lucerne but is so so worth it; in fact, we booked this place accidentally but it turned out to be among the best. The hosts (Henry and Ruth, if I've got the names right!) were incredible. Its really cozy, warm, and with beautiful surroundings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ruth and Henry are amazing hosts. Every single detail from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was perfect. Henry even walked out to the main road to show us the best place to park when we arrived. The breakfasts were delicious and even included fresh eggs. There was a great selection of cheese and meats, and we both enjoyed hot chocolate in the morning since we aren't coffee drinkers. The views from our window were gorgeous just like the rest of this area. I want to take a moment to say that Henry and Ruth were so nice, we both felt like we had known them as friends for a long time. They welcomed us into their space, provided excellent advice about the area, shared conversation, and even played a traditional game with me. I wish we had planned the whole trip around their Chalet because it's the kind of place and people that I dream about Switzerland being.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like about our stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We booked on really short notice and still everything worked out great. The owner were friendly the room clean and for breakfast everything was there.

Pros: Pension Chalet Bercana is a wonderful place that’s located among pure nature in a small village. It’s so quite and peaceful that helped us to rest and recharge. We spent unbelievable time there! And met beautiful people as Ruth and Henry! That treated us with verity of cheese a homemade honey for the breakfast! We liked the Chalet a lot and highly recommend it!
Cons: nothing to say here
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cleanest room that i’ve ever stayed.
Cons: Too early check out.

Pros: Great position just a few minutes from the lifts up and down the mountain. Reuti is a peaceful village and you really can get away from it all, in fantastic scenery
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We did a 7 day hopping travel around Switzerland. The breakfast was best we got. The host family was very friendly and genuine, and made us feel cozy. The location is excellent, uphill just by the second cable car station, offering many hiking and viewing options.

Pros: Loved the afternoon cake and Iced coffee. It was a very special touch!
Cons: I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location so close to the train and bus station, but very quiet at night. Small things like a greeting card and umbrella in the room to go for a walk on a rainy day. I would definitely come back and highly recommend
Cons: The lady in the breakfast room was very polite and nice, but she should come to the table and ask if we wanted to order hot food from the kitchen (eggs and pancakes). Unfortunately, she was too modest - the male waiter the next day was much better.

Pros: The owners are extremely friendly and nice, my daughter and I had a wonderful experience with our stay. We enjoyed our time talking with them while having breakfast. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in their home. Every morning they made me hot mint tea fresh from their garden, the breakfast was delicious. The house is very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A room with a spectacular view! Very nice and thoughtful host, homemade products (e.g. a mouth-watering apricot cake) and a quiet rural community.
7.5 Good
Pros: Barbara was very kind with us. The room and the bathroom were clean. Breakfast (not very varied) was good.
Cons: Perhaps it would be better to specify in the description that you can have breakfast only in the kitchen corner (shared with the guests of the other room). From the photographs it looks like a "private" place but in reality there are two floors with two rooms and the entrance / kitchen / outdoor terrace are shared.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had such a great time at this property. We woke up to magnificent mountain views everyday. The owner served fresh homemade breakfast in the morning like fresh tea from garden, locally made honey and cheese, homemade jam, and few other things. The owners are so friendly. The surroundings are quiet and if you are lucky you might wake up to the sound of cow bells. We are definitely staying here again whenever we go back. Also, it’s only 20 mins drive from Interlaken. So not that far.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was spacious, very clean, beautiful views and the owner was the most kindest and thoughtful host you could ever meet! I would definitely recommend this a place to stay and would visit again !!

Pros: Everything was super nice
Cons: Everything is great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an absolute marvelous time at the Dunkel-Blaue Maus! We were here in the summertime and opted for the garden room. The room itself is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The garden is a pleasure to relax in and a true oasis of flowers and plants! Every morning the breakfast was brought to our front door at the time we preferred. When we came back from our hike, aside from a refilled refrigerator and a cleaned up house, we were often surprised with a nice fresh piece of fruit. We also had the chance to eat dinner with these delightful people and the other guests, and needless to say, it was excellent and a night to remember. So if you ever look for accommodations near Meiringen, do not hesitate and go for the Dunkel-Blaue Maus!
Cons: Marvelous!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My stay here was fantastic! Very short/easy walk from the train station. I was greeted warmly at the restaurant (which is where you check into the hotel) and shown to my exquisite suite that faced Lake Brienz. The accommodations were top notch, the bed was very comfortable and seriously, the shower was absolutely the best I've encountered throughout my entire trip through Switzerland!! There are real river stones on the floor of the very nice sized shower--just gorgeous! The balcony outside my room was amazing and overlooked the Lake and the main road through town just below. The views of Lake Brienz and the mountains were breathtaking and the walk along the lake was so peaceful and relaxing. Additionally, breakfast was amazing in the hotel restaurant and the entire staff was warm, welcoming, and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing! I really cannot think of anything that I didn't like. Everything was wonderful!

Cons: Perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the best place we have stayed in switzerland and paris. I would recommend this place to anyone. And your watress (Kristal) is tops.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Cons: WiFi was pretty weak.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were clean and large enough for 2 persons to move about. The shower toilet was huge. It is a small hotel with 9 rooms I think. In my 12 days stay in Switzerland, they had the cleanest, brightest and spacious room so far. There is no lobby, had to collect my keys from the restaurant cashier counter. Very unusual but I am very happy to have stayed in this establishment. The train station is not far from the hotel, easy to pay a visit to Interlaken, Spiez and Thun from Brienz. Nice view of the mountains in front. Convenient to stroll down to the lake and take a walk along the banks. I was allowed to leave my luggage inside the restaurant wine cellar until I came back to pick them up after checkout. My hosts were very accommodating and friendly.
Cons: No toothbrush and toothpaste provided but that is normal in small Swiss hotels. They do provide soaps for showering and washing of hands. No slippers but the carpet look clean enough to go barefooted inside the rooms. Breakfast could have been better by including hot fried eggs or scrambled eggs, sausages. Maybe providing a toaster to toast the bread as well. There is no complimentary coffee/tea and water within the rooms. No refrigerator or kettle inside the rooms as well.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Both the room and the bathroom were exceptionally large
Cons: The bathroom amenities were very minimal.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a magnificent mountain view. The hotel has free parking. Had the most enjoyable stay at this hotel. Highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and eager to attend to our needs. Our 3 years old son loved the quadruple room; he loved the staircase inside the room and he basically cried when we had to leave the hotel. We enjoyed having breakfast in the morning and our little one liked the selection of books for kids. For us it was the best location as we were there to vising the Ballenberg Museum which is literally 10 min walking distance. But it is also very close to the beautiful village of Brienz where we went for dinner.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was good and similar to that served in this area
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were SUPER nice and location steps away from the Ballenberg Open Air Museum. A must see if you’re in the area.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: - location - rooms view - waterfall - overlooking Brienz lake - far from the buzz of the city
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and environment as the hotel locates right in front of the Giessbach waterfall and Lake Brienz. Since our room has both the fall and the open lake view, it is quite relaxing and magical. Veronica at the front desk was very helpful and friendly though can't say the same for other front desk staff. The manager at the dining room also provided excellent recommendations on food and wine as well as services during our stay.
Cons: Other front desk staff are neither as friendly nor as helpful as Veronica. As we had been traveling and brought 2large/2small luggage cases, it was quite difficult for us to push all those to the reception from the carpark. Please note that there is a distance between the carpark and the reception because there is no driveway to the the main entrance. I asked my wife to get assistance at the front desk but she was told that there is a lift and porter/bell captain was not available, that's all. Hence, we had to push all the 4 pieces of luggage through a long pavement from carpark when it was raining, went through a short passage to find the lift, pushed those cases into the relatively small lift and pushed to the reception. While I understand that it might happen in many heritage and dated hotels in Europe, but the comments from this man at the front desk who might be the manager was just very disappointing when I complained about lack of assistance. He said that and let me quote " we are only a 4 star hotel, what do u expect?" Now, that's really some service that I have not experienced in years, even with 2-3 star hotels. it is perfectly fine to say that there is no such service for the day but apologize for any inconvenience caused, but making that statement is an indication of low service quality. Fortunately, Veronica at the front desk came into the picture and immediately provided some assistance. Her service standard clearly surpasses the others and shifted my experience from very negative to mild positive in next few days. Hope that whoever made that comment is not the hotel manager as his presence will lower the service standard and not doing any justice to this heritage hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Many thanks for Ms.Vanessa she is a very present help
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views, grounds, and hotel. The breakfast was beyond amazing!
Cons: Bed uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is breathtaking. Food in both restaurants is delicious. Hiking up.the falls is magical. Piano playing is divine.
Cons: The staff in general was great. The reception desk staff were not. No special touches, not even chocolate on the pillows. Had to call for turn down service. No coffee and tea areas for free. Everything cost alot, and it kind of ruined the experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views are spectacular, the waterfall is breathtaking and the hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was courteous and friendly. Would highly recommend.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself is beautiful and has a charming history. There’s restored furniture in every room as well as modern touches such as a heated bathroom floor. The hotel is by itself atop a hill giving breathtaking views of the azure lake and Brienz. The waterfall to the side of the hotel offers a wonderful ambience and is a gorgeous sight to behold. The breakfast and food are delicious. I wish I could stay here 1000x over.
Cons: The fact that the hotel is so isolated means you need to find a way up or down. The shuttle they offer has a limited run of hours and can not be requested later. The bus that goes up also ends early essentially meaning you have to get a taxi which can get expensive for such a short ride.

7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was inside the restaurant which has lake view, the food was good. Clean room and modern looking bathroom.
Cons: We had 3 adults in one room, enough beds to sleep in but very limited space to sit inside the room. Better for just 2 travelers.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Have two e-bikes to rent, the view nearby the lake was amazing. Especially suggest going up to the mountain to have the amazing view of the total lake
Cons: The breakfast can provide more food and vegetables to choose from.

Cons: Nothing.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The restaraunt view is good, the food (breakfast +lunch)is nice and they let us do checkout around 12am.
Cons: 1. Flies ! everywhere! in the bedroom, we were woken up because flies came to our faces, so got up and asked sticky panel at the front desk, with which we caught 5, with another 2 at large. , and in the morning, we find more, we keep the windows closed all the time! Seriously, we pay 214 CHF , and got 5at least 5 flies on our beds, coats Even a developing country would charging 20CHF would be cleaner than this 2. We caught another 8flies at the dinning table 3.The reception lady was not polite at all, telling us that they can’t help and can’t change the room. And it is normal to have flies in countryside . (what!)

9.6 Excellent

Cons: The room did not have air conditioning but had a fan which was only partially effective
7.9 Good
Cons: Even though the hotel is nice doesn’t look like in the pictures. The breakfast was poor and the lady serving it was arrogant and bossy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, comfortable and friendly. It's really well placed, just walk out of the train station and cross the road. All staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great, a Swiss meal served from 7am. Fresh loaves of bread to cut yourself, plates of cheese and meat, eggs. Add cereals, yoghurts, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, croissants, salad, jam, toast etc and you are spoiled for choice. My room was huge with a separate seating area and overlooked the main street. I heard no traffic noise with the window shut. During the day it was pleasant to leave the huge window open. I stayed for a week and never ran out of things to do. It was wonderful coming back after a long day and just to stroll across the road and be in the hotel. There was a nice place to sit outside with a beer or cool glass of wine.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Just outside the scenic mountain and lake brienz Good breakfast included in room rate Friendly staff
Cons: 20 mins walk from Brienz station Area is dark at night without street lights Hostel don’t answer the phone at 11pm when I was lost in the dark searching for the place and had informed them as well about my late arrival hence no support on this and it is very risky if you don’t find some local people who can help you out at that time. No signboards guiding the hostel location Hostel name is different that displayed on booking.com it’s not Brienz Youth hostel No luggage locking boxes in the rooms No dedicated locked shelf inside the rooms
7.1 Good
Pros: Excellently located at the lake and a little over 10 minute walk to the train station. It was perfect as our base to explore some beautiful hiking routes in Grindelwald and Rosenlaui.
Cons: Due to school holidays there were a lot of families, so as a single traveler you didn’t get the usual hostel atmosphere to meet and connect with others.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, nice staff. Great location to walk into town.
Cons: Noisy out door conversations after midnight and too hot to close window . Noisy early risers at 6 am. Expected for a hostel.

Pros: Nice area, it had a playground and was right next to the water.
6.7 Good
Pros: Staffs are very nice and friendly.
Cons: I stayed at 6 bed room, but the room was too small for 6 people. I wish there were female / male separate rooms.

Pros: Location. Great views and waterfall close by.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were just looking for an overnight stay before doing the mountain passes and were pleasantly surprised with what we've got. The property is right opposite a waterfall and our rooms had full view of the fall. And to top it all, you'll be hard pressed to find more hospitable hosts who are most friendly and helpful. Breakfast, prepared by the owner, was ample and tasty.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was standard Swiss breakfast, muesli, coffee, gipfel, bread, and a bit more. The room was much, much bigger than expected. The surrounding area was really beautiful and it is exactly on the Route 9 cycling route. Very close to both Breinz and Meiringen (20-30 min by bike).
Cons: Couldn't find a nice place to park our bike, but it was fine enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free parking, beautiful landscape, and the owner is very very enthusiastic. They give me a lot of help.
