Pros: Exceptional friendliness of host - beautiful large bedroom - location is quite special - we had an hour's walk along the leafy canal before supper. I know that wasn't strictly speaking the host's doing, nor was the fine weather - but she did encourage us to explore a place she obviously loves.
Cons: Counsel of perfection - if you're serving coffee for breakfast a cafetière of ground coffee would have been welcome.

Pros: Excellent B&B, lovely quiet location, scenic with horses on land. Val greeted us by name as we arrived and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, super host. Hearty english breakfast cooked to order, one of best we’ve tasted. Lovely walk from there down to river and canal. We were staying couple of nights to attend a wedding and Val organised us a taxi, nothing too much trouble. Night before wedding Val recommended ‘Half Way House’ nearby restaurant, 5 min walk away, been newly furbished, excellent food. Wedding venue at ‘The Old Barn’ amazing too, so has been an enjoyable memorable weekend for us. Thank you to all.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great beer, amazing food (steak and ale pie is a must) and a very comfortable room. A fine example of a Yorkshire pub and Yorkshire people!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff, spacious room with excellent shower and bath, very clean and extremely comfortable bed. A lovely room! The food was typical pub food with a very good breakfast. The staff and manager were so friendly and helpful with our accommodation and anything we asked about in the area and greater region (they really were the icing on the cake). Extremely personable. The bar was extremely busy and noisy on a Sunday night but we could not hear any noise above in our room. Free parking available outside pub or nearby street. The local people were also very friendly and great to chat to. I didn't see any shops (but it was just a quick overnight stay and could have missed them) just the pub, church, local school, local cricket club with grounds and some houses. Thurstonland is a small country village surrounded by rolling hills and valleys - beautifully scenic. Only stayed one night while travelling from North Yorkshire south to Manchester airport to fly home. Could have stayed longer. Just 10 minutes drive away is Holmfirth - a larger township. It has lots of great shops e.g. gift shops, bookshop, supermarket, alcohol shop (only the odd touristy shop) - everything you need. We picked up some great nic-nacs from the charity shops and excellent second hand books from"Daisy Lane Books' of Towngate in Holmfirth. We had a marvelous time and would definitely recommend.
Cons: The stairway to go up to the bedrooms was a bit narrow and steep to carry our suitcases (they were very full after our 4 week holiday) but I'm sure the management would have assisted us with our bags if we had asked them. This didn't really bother us and was a very small negative against numerous pluses. Just mentioning it for anyone who might struggle with stairs.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Okay : This is an expensive accommodation option. When one opts for the expensive there are two ways things can go : things are at best 'ordinary' - which means you've wasted your money - or things are excellent - which means you've won. The Manor fell into the latter class, for our room (which was excellent) and our meal (likewise). Sound! :-D

On arrival at the restaurant was told that will have to order straight away as last orders are taken at 7:30 (my reservation was for 7:30 & no one mentioned this!) then staff were a bit absent-minded ... service wasn’t smooth even though it was promised on website/brochure...food wasn’t that great either.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I booked a two night stay for our wedding anniversary,We read a few reviews, and checked the web site. What a find!! The setting is idyllic, in a valley, surrounded by trees,a next to a stream and pure tranquillity. The outside seating area covered a large area, and there is a large car park. Reception was straightforward and everywhere inside the inn was well maintained and very clean. All of the staff that we met were friendly and very helpful. Our double room was of a very high standard, the bath/shower room excellent with all the extras. The choices for breakfast were incredible: fruits, yogurts, home made muesli and lots of other home made extras. Full Yorkshire breakfast or several alternatives( Eggs Benedict just perfect!) Evening meals were to a very high standard, and locally sourced wherever possible. A large selection of wines were available, and each dish had a recommended wine to accompany it. After all that food, there are plenty of good walks from the inn.
Cons: We could not have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary. No faults at all, just many thanks.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff. Good location. Nice clean room and comfortable bed
Cons: Housekeeping nearly non existent. In 4 days the sink was never wiped, the carpet never hoovered and only got a change of towels one. Breakfast whilst nice thats included for the price you pay, it was the same for the 4 days we were there. Also whilst only until 11 pm, you can hear the music from the bar which not ideal when you have kids.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was fabulous, clean, modern and comfortable
Cons: W couldn't fault the room or comfort. But we had to keep the window open due to the heat, and there is no aircon. As we were placed in a room directly overlooking the road, traffic speeding through the village kept us awake and we both had a rubbish night sleep. This was problematic as we had a full day of meetings and needed to be well rested.

Pros: Traditional, comfortable and welcoming. It was popular but staff ensured you were well looked after. It’s an interesting building and the grounds are beautiful so it’s a popular wedding location.
Cons: Nothing - it was a great place for a break. A gym and a pool would have been nice but not having these didn’t spoil anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is a delight, The rooms are comfortable, the beds are so comfortable you float away. The breakfast is the best, the sort you dream of, especially the home made black pudding, coupled with good orange juice, tea, superb bacon and sausage locally produced, and one of the freshest eggs you will ever see.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely hospitable and extras such as Glass of Wine on arrival, free bottles of water in your room etc justify the price as does the Breakfast. I was lucky enough to have the home-made black pudding (something new that the hotel is trialling) which was awesome!! The room was comfortable, good size. Bed was great!
Cons: Climate control in the room would be good.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: It's a beautiful old building with a lovely garden. Very enjoyable stay.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Lovely building inside and out, we had a very small room so thought it was expensive, had evening meal with another 8 friends, my meal was fine but the people who had steak where disappointed paying nearly £30 thought it should have been a lot better quality, the breakfast was good though. Just thought the price for accommodation for the room I had was expensive and if you charge those prices fir the food I would have expected it to be a lot better quality
Cons: Room too small for the price, steak wasn’t good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded to a lovely newly decorated executive suite. Staff were very helpful, food was tasty.
Cons: Whilst decor in room nice and modern, some communal areas waiting for modernisation. Dinner was tasty but pricey.

Pros: Excellent mattress. Extremely good range of breakfast choices. Simple and easy access to breakfast whenever required. Good nice clean kitchen open for use anytime.
Cons: Toilet paper was too thick for the system so one of only two toilets was easily blocked. Also not very environmentally friendly! The kitchen seating was limited and could have been inadequate if everyone wanted to eat at the same time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, spacious room, absolutely quiet at night but still in the middle of Elland. Having stayed several times in the Crown House Suites, where every single room is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, this one is my favourite ones due to its size and the high ceiling.
Cons: Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely with a comfortable bed. Nice extras including fridge and microwave.
Cons: A little difficult to find as not well signed from the street drove past a few times before realised.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was immaculate and had everything you could think of needing including a microwave and fridge. Really nicely decorated and the bed was very comfy. Great price too. Free parking just a minute walk away. Ideal for Berties function room.
Cons: There are some rather uneven cobbles to walk over to get to the front door which are a little tricky when wearing high heels and having had a couple of gins! Also pretty hard to find we drove round the block three times before we spotted it. All minor things and should not put anyone off using this little gem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room decor and the comfortable bed
Cons: Where it is but that can’t be changed.

Pros: Good location Has had a refurb since the last time I stayed. Good poached eggs at breakfast
Cons: Car Park needs a re-think Breakfast coffee not good. The cafetière plunger had been pushed down before being delivered to the table and the coffe was unbearably weak as a result.
4.5 Okay
Pros: How a staff member helped with the parking
Cons: The room was unbearably hot. This was was the same experience of my friends who also stayed. Unable to sleep
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location, as it was central
Cons: Room was at the back of the hotel, where a few pubs are located, so very busy and noisy until the small hours. Also I had a single room which was more like a box, the door couldn’t open up fully into the unsuite because of the towel rail
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine and the staff were very helpful.
Cons: It was a bit of a walk to get to room 33.
7.5 Good

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good choice well cooked. Staff very helpful and efficient. Good sized room.
Cons: Cover the bread with a cloth. Stops flies landing on it. The local farm was rather smelly and the Lakeside Lodge was very close to it. I
5.5 Okay
Pros: The grounds were spectacular. A good breakfast. Lakeside room was as expected from photos.
Cons: We were looking forward to staying in an old historical building, unfortunately that part of the hotel was closed off due to new carpets being fitted. We had not been informed of this at the time of booking or before our arrival. It was not flagged on their website either. We were most disappointed as the only public area available to guests for eating and sitting was an unappealing function room which also incorporated a make-shift reception desk. Staff did offer us a free bottle of wine if we dined there, but we declined this as it was not a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a meal, with people checking in and out in the same small area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely parkland setting, approached through the woods. Staff very friendly and professional. The hotel was busier than I had expected, but as a single traveller staying a single night I was made to feel welcome at all times. Food was very good in the evening, and breakfast was super. My room was very clean and comfortable. Terrace outside of lounge bar was icing on the cake, overlooking grounds and very enjoyable on a summers evening. I walked from the railway station (Denby Dale) about 15 minutes away - good pavement all the way.
Cons: Bathroom was let down by a loose / badly fitted bath panel, and for some the lack of a standalone shower would be a problem.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the food from breakfast to dinner . Kurtis the guy on reception ( well everywhere) is a real credit to bagden hall and went above and beyond with his service .... gardens and surrounding areas was beautiful and our stay was amazing ... we will b returning ... only one little down side , we was woken at 6.30 on day of checkout by some squeaky floorboards and banging doors , which i did mention on leaving
Cons: Going home
7.5 Good
Pros: Champagne afternoon tea
Cons: Bathroom could have been better
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and facilities were good, with beautiful views of the dales. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The gentleman on reception virtually ignored us when we arrived and did not seem to want to engage with us. In fact he handed us over to a colleague as quickly as he could. There was obviously something upsetting him but it really does not help to react so badly to customers. There was constant piped music in the public areas which was dated and too loud. Better to have no music.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room and excellent food.
Cons: Shower was difficult to regulate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very dog friendly, excellent food, friendly staff, great grounds.
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Cons: Nice hotel, but perhaps could do with a slight refurb.

Pros: Food and rooms were excellent and great value for money.
Cons: Room was a bit too hot and portable air conditioning was a bit noisy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the hotel is excellent in all ways and the food was also excellent a very enjoyable stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are multiple returning visitors to 315 over several years and always enjoy our stays. The ambience, food and facilities are second to none. The restaurant is exceptional and the food is always perfectly prepared and presented. The staff are always welcoming, courteous, helpful and friendly. The spa is a lovely addition and the newer rooms are comfortable too. 315 really is a gem of a place to stay, eat and relax. We always enjoy our visits and obviously we will be back again soon.
Cons: Only one very minor bit of constructive feedback... A vegetarian menu was available at dinner, but breakfast lacks a variety of choice for vegetarians and vegans, other than to have cereal, or the full english without bacon and sausage, which was very nice, but offering alternatives such as smashed avocado and poached eggs on granary, chickpea pancakes, French toast with fruits, vegetarian sausages and a choice of dairy-free options would be even better - oat milk as an alternative for cereals, for instance, (many people can't have soya, which is a common alternative in a lot of places). As I said, I really enjoyed the food and this is definitely not a complaint, just a comment as to what would have made our stay even more perfect.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: I'm a big lad so the full English I was given wasn't very filling but it was tasty
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, ordering what you wanted saved waste and everyone had what they wanted. Service was quick, polite and efficient. Good atmosphere in the breakfast room. Sat outside after breakfast which was very nice.
Cons: The sun was shining brightly in the room (actually liked that) but this made the room very hot. We could have asked for air conditioning to be put on but didn't do. Offer of been able to take a cup of tea/coffee outside would be nice, again we didn't ask.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and very friendly understanding staff
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the decor and size of room and comfort of the bed. The Spa facilities were superb and highly recommended. The food is outstanding and highly recommended. I loved everything about this hotel and can't wait to return.
Cons: Nothing at all
