Very nice and friendly staff.
The hotel has a great location with a huge underground NCP car park opposite. It is a short walk to Brighton city centre, the rooms are clean with great facilities, the full English breakfast was freshly cooked. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I will definitely stay at Hotel Pelirocco again.
Friendly staff, design of the rooms, the option to choose different kinds of breakfast dishes
Quirky, design led rock and roll hotel. Great bar facility and cocktails. Below the sash windows of my room was a courtyard where people could smoke. I was kept awake by noise and only slept 2 hours so def more of a party hotel and not for a relaxing nights sleep. Some sound proofing for windows would solve this. Shame record player didn't work properly but a great idea, perhaps damaged by previous guests. Only a few gripes really and overall very acommodating. The kids in the kitchen need a bit more training but were very obliging if you asked for anything. Good overall.
Unconventional and different lousy shower
quirky, clean, comfortable. Loved the smarties on the tea tray. very friendly staff even thought I don't think i was their 'target' guest. On arrival, i was upgraded to double room at no extra cost no heating in room - althougth luckily it was a mild night. thought 11.00pm was early for the bar to close
The room was spacious and enjoyed good views of the Promenade and the Beach. The hotel itself is well-located. The decor is mediocre; the room was dark; the shower was poor; the hot breakfast was luke warm; the common parts and the lift are pretty scruffy.
Large spacious room with a fantastic view, Clean comfortable beds and quiet environment. Good breakfast, Friendly and courteous staff, excellent location. Entrance and reception area need new carpets and generally freshening up. The lift was very small but worked well however the different floors also appeared tired and a little scruffy as you passed them in the lift. We were on the 2nd floor and the corridors to our room needed a lot of TLC.
Location and building history. The room and other parts of the hotel do not appear to be too clean.
Very dated, dirty and in desperate need of decoration and refurbishment
How close it was to the beach and centre of town. The view out of the room's window over the green area in front of the hotel. The fact that it wasn't clear that when I booked the room, I'd only reserved it and it wasn't paid for. I had to pay the full amount on my credit card when I arrived. Luckily I had enough money on my card to do so, otherwise I wouldn't have had enough to pay for the room. The attitude of the staff on reception was also very sub-standard. They weren't welcoming or friendly in the slightest.
The hotelis in an ideal location close to both the beach and shops. However it is a little tired and would benefit hugely from a coatof paint expecially at a room rate of 95 pounds per night.
Room was OK and location was good with great seaviews. The public areas of the hotel were verty shabby and in great need of a re-furb. breakfast was rough & ready.
Very helpful staff, good location for short break Cold room (small radiator) and no heating in bathroom, although offered fan heater by reception staff which helped. Would recommend but not during cold weather
Nice room, good service ,breakfast ok central position
Reception staff excellent no complaints
Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The room was super clean as was the dining room. The breakfast was very generous and food fresh with good variety. We also liked the biscuits in the room. Was able to accomodate us with a 1st floor room. Shower water pressure could be improved. Temperature was great but not enough pressure to attempt a hair wash.
Thought it was very expensive for what you actually got. Have since stayed in other b & B's which were in much better condition and were much better value for money. Also our room was up 43 steps which is a lot when you have to lug heavy suitcases up them and have jetlag!!
Breakfast was ok Internet picture misleading as the description notes that the hotel was recently refurbished and god only knows what it was like before. There were damp stains on the ceiling, ripped chair to sit on, curtains were filthy, mattress bedding was covered in black marks. Shower head was a sprinkler and very dirty inside.
Location Noisy plumbing, poor soundproofing and creaky doors.
Liked the size of the bedroom and the location was close to centre 5 min walk. the bathroom was not good quality especially as we had booked a superior room. The bed was comfy but the headboard looked old and dated.
Clean, helpful staff, good location
Airy room and friendly staff Separate bathroom, which wasn't very clean
how u got your own frount door key to let yor self in when out late
Hotel was very reasonably priced and in an extremely convenient location; right on the coast by the pier, and a 2 minute walk from The Brighton Centre, which is where I was visiting. Our room was on the top floor, which I believe was 5 floors up and with no elevator. We had lots of heavy luggage and the staff didn't offer any help in assisting us with getting it up the stairs. Also, the room was small, which was fair enough for the price, but the double bed was up against a wall, meaning guests had to climb over each other to get out of bed in the night,
They take dogs! Very pleasant staff. Basic but ideal. Location great.
Good sized bedrooms and bathroom.Convenient location for our needs. Good food and service at breakfast. Obliging staff. Not a complaint but parking facilities could be a problem. However we managed to park
Sea view. Helpful staff. Carpet under bed dirty
The restaurant and bar area were nice. Staff were helpful and friendly. The bed sheets were clean and crisp and the room was a good size. The room wasn't cleaned and ready for us when we arrived, however we were quickly moved to another room. We paid extra for a sea view but the windows were very dirty and there was a designated smoking area just outside our window, so rather than smelling the sea air, we just smelled cigarette smoke all night if we had the window open. The rooms are dated and a bit shabby and would benefit from a refurbishment, especially the bathroom where the grout around the bath was black. In general, the rooms didn't feel very clean and I think the hotel is too expensive at £95 per night - I have stayed in much nicer spa hotels for that price. The hotel has a general dated and downtrodden feel.
efficient polite service no
Position in Hove Breakfast room staff surly
The room was very comfortable, clean and warm. With plenty of tea and coffee. The fact that the room service menu was very limted.
Everything was excellent. Room clean large and comfortable and staff could not have been more helpful.
could do with updating ! although pretty clean the rooms look dirty !
The view and the facilities were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful Corby 3000 series trouser press. Nice big comfortable bed too, ideal for relaxing after a hard day of trouser pressing. I felt that the l Corby 3000 series trouser press was a little dated. Perhaps a 5000 series would be more appropriate with it's digital timer and superb black oak veneer.
Seaview, bus station in front of hotel Quality of breakfast (continental) not very good, staff rushing around Very old furniture in room
Nothing to complain about but nothing to applaud either. Very basic but clean and not noisy, good position.
Not bad for a cheap hotel
Location was good enough, room size was ok Curtains were wafer thin, bed cover was bleach stained, shower was tiny as were towels, whole hotel stunk of old cigarette smoke. No bar/restaurant or reception desk.
Hotel was conveniently located. Weather was hot, windows closed and no fan available. The room was smaller than I am used to - I am not a Brittish resident.
location poor internet connection
Clean, nice room, Very very very cold!
Very close to the sea front, approx. 5 minutes walk to Brighton Pier. Very nice man at the back of the hotel. Good size room with good size bed and not too small shower room. Good value for money Dirty, stained shower curtain, dated decorations.
Very basic with no catering but clean and warm. Very good position. No parking right by the hotel but pay and display street parking nearby. It is more of a rooming house than a hotel but if want cheap and don't mind a walk for breakfast it will do.
I liked the location of the hotel but thought bed and breakfast would be better for the price we paid.
Low cost; clean bed; good shower; good location; N.B. we stayed for 2 nights - 21st and 22nd May 2010 No view; no proper reception; noisy by the front door; scuffle between manager and customer at 9 a.m. Sunday morning (23/5/10)
There were DVDs available to be borrowed and the breakfast is absolutely fantastic. There were so many choices on the menus, including salmon bagel and egg benedicts. Albeit the long journey to rooms with the stairs, it was a pleasant stay overall. It was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, however there was constantly a strong smell of cigarettes in the corridors in the 2nd and 3rd floor.
It was a nice hotel very good for money, lovely staff can watch dvds to! The room could have been cleaned during our stay i suppose if we had asked they would have.
It was comfortable and convenient, the staff were cheerful and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room was very spacious and attractive. We actually stayed in a building called the Granville Hotel, which connects with the Cecil House building. I assumed it was all the same hotel.
The breakfast was excellent. The hotel badly needs updating. The room was dirty and there was no lift. We had to climb 8 flights of stairs which was exhausting. In the bathroom there are no hooks or a towel rail provided, which made life quite difficult. There was no bin in the bathroom and mirrors were badly positioned. I would not stay at this hotel again.
Friendly greeting on arrival, friendly, efficient staff and breakfast had some good choices and was well cooked. The en-suite facilities in room 101 consisted of an open top box containing washbasin, toilet and shower but as there was no door or ceiling to the box the toilet facilities were unusable
We got changed to Granville Hotel. Breakfast of eggs benedict very good. Free internet and use of collection of dvds a good touch. I don't like this seemingly new thing of paying up front for a room. As soon as we arrived we were asked for the money. Next day we moved to the much nicer and cheaper Lanes Hotel up the road. Granville Hotel was not worth the money they charged for a room. Twin bedded room was very cramped, dingy and dark. One bed was almost in the bathroom. The bedspreads did not match. In fact they clashed. A sofa in the room took up too much space and was covered with a very ugly orange, brown and yellow throw rug. A chair was slightly threadbare. You had to unplug the tv to use the kettle. There should have been a separate electrical outlet for it. The reading lamp didn't work. The jacuzzi in the bathroom was faulty and squirted water all over the floor and a staff member phoned up to say water was dripping on the floor below and I should be careful. It was their faulty jacuzzi that was causing the problem not me. There was no plug for the sink and I wear contact lenses and need a plug.
Staff were very helpful and prompt. Breakfast was outstanding with good variety and choice of hot and cold menus. Good choice of free DVDs. Needed minor repairs but did not affect enjoyment of stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was extremely good. The location is great. I would definitely stay there again. The stairs were quite steep, possibly a problem for young children.
Breakfast at the adjoining Granville Hotel no hot water in morning or early evening, rooms small and cramped
The views from the room, the location and the breakfast
complimentary wine and chocolate - value reasonable at late booking rate, otherwise very overpriced We were promised parking which did not materialise.
very nice breakfast clean and tidy room helpful staff n/a
This is merely a guest house than a hotel. Very small rooms and tiny bathrooms. Comfy but rooms can get noisy due to proximity with front door and people talking in the hallway.
Clanliness. Location of the Hotel in Hove, near enough to Brighton. Complimentary items in the room Lack of shelves and hanging space in the bathroom
complimentary water Felt impersonal. Fittings rather cheap - eg bath tap fell off. Mattress very soft and lumpy. owever, didn't complain, so my own fault!
And the staff is very friendly except the owner how fortunately is not often there. The price is enormous for the prestation. The staff does not speak French. The owner behaved rudely.
This was our second stay at Seafield House. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well finished. Good choice at breakfast. The little extras in the room are also a very nice bonus, as is the free parking. The ensuite was a little bit cramped.
Friendly and helpful approach of person in Reception and quiteness of location/hotel. I went there with my husband to chill out and that's what we did. Dirty carpet, too messy shower (splattering everywhere), dirty face flannels/towels. Asked for a luxury room but I'm pretty certain it felt quite standard. Not good value for the £70 paid, in my view. I also requested confirmation of my parking space which wasn't given, although I provided my contact numbers and email because it was a last minute booking. Had to arrive there to verify this. This is the only time I have felt somewhat dissapointed by accommodation selected from your website.
Good value; good breakfast; friendly staff; good location for access to Brighton & Hove. Bed a bit too firm; uncomfortable pillows.
room comfort- close to town -complimentry facilities although room was comfortable it was a basement room which we did not really like it felt closed in.
The garden, which was a highlight, the decor and the comfort of the bed itself. My friend had a smaller room than expected and her shower was too hot - even with running cold at maximum. We reported this.
Good central location in Lewes. Hotel housed in a lovely old building that has been sympathatically restored, bedrooms and bathrooms well designed and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly and helpful, overall a calm and comfortable place to stay. Nice garden although I didn't go into it as it was raining.
The atmosphere, relaxed but efficient
Friendly receptionist.Good comfy bed and excellent breakfast chef!
The decor and art works were fantastic and the room was extremely comfortable - liked the simplicity
Excellent room Pleasant and efficient service Breakfast could be better - pots of tea and coffee
Very central location. Stunning building and views from dining/breakfast room. Good breakfast. Very helpful staff Lots of stair noise from my room due to uncarpeted staircase. Room small with little space for clothes. Very expensive for what I got.
Friendlyness of staff. Wonderful building. Informality and wonderful breakfast. Attention to detail. Room in the eves
The room was excellent - contemporary decor, plasma T.V., comfy bed, loads of space, beautiful en-suite. Lovely fresh continental breakfast. Although the food at breakfast was very good, the service was not. It was very disorganised and the staff did not seem to know what they should be doing or how to speed things up. It took 15 minutes to get our coffee and we had finished eating by then.
Courtesy, enthusiasm and professionalism of the young (and old!) staff. Excellent food in convivial and cosy surroundings. Our standard double room was a little quirky but fun and welcoming, good bed. Perfectly placed just off Lewse'charming high street. We will be back. Leaving.
