5.4 Okay
Pros: Stunning location ie garden and pool outlook, really nice. Husband was lovely and friendly.
Cons: Reception area cluttered with ‘extras’ not a professional environment. Could find telephone to ring for attention as so cluttered. Had to call out the back for service. Wife not trained in reception and husband was out. My husband went down to reception later and wife having conversation ‘very loud/aggressive’ with another customer, not pleasant. Room needs to be modernised and over rated for cost. Cost appropriate I’d modernised.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really big and very quaint! It had a vintage feel, the furniture in the living room had a couple of older chairs and small table. The curtains had big flowers but were of high quality and older. The bathroom was all redone and nice and spacious.
Cons: Our living room view was towards the back looking at another room and the window was small and not to bright. But the spaciousness of the whole room trumpted the small window. Also were weren't hanging out in the room during the day anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived till we left
Cons: friendly helpful staff, food in the restaurant was excellent, the setting and location was great and quiet too

6.0 Good
Cons: You get 1GB per 24h of WiFi then you have to purchase. You deserve a boo for this.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Even though its a large hostel, I like that it's quite colorful. Plenty of areas to chill out. Fellow travelers were friendly. Fan was provided in room.
Cons: I suppose the staff could be a bit more interactive but since it's such a big hostel I don't really have high expectation about that.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ok option in Nelson but not the best one out there.
Cons: Stayed here one night as other hostels were fully booked and requested a step free accessible room (as it appeared the facilities provided this) which wasn’t allocated to me and the reception just said “we have no step free rooms available and booking.com didn’t give us your note”. No free car park attached to the hostel, just the paying for one.

Pros: A solid hostel. Reasonably clean and in good working order.

Pros: Good place to stay for travellers young or old. Staff very friendly in particular Royce

Pros: Fantastic welcome and assistance. Great room and very relaxing bed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous room.. Loved the luxurious feel of the bed.. The artwork and decorations were nice.. Lovely colour scheme. Very friendly proprietor.
Cons: Very disappointed to find they no longer have nespresso machines in the rooms... As they have in the past. It really was one of the luxuries that made us come again .. A real point of difference. But I think its changed hands.. And gone are nespresso machines. Bit of a damp mouldy smell in the bathroom... I think coming from the drain on the floor beneath the handbasin.

Pros: Room was modern and comfortable. Car parking was on site so very convenient. Location of the town was also convenient. Due to the Covid-19 situation, staff put in place appropriate distancing measures and we serviced the room ourselves.
Cons: Due to the Covid-19 situation, room servicing was not provided. Unfortunately no consideration was given for a slight adjustment to the room rate to reflect the reduction in guest services and overall customer experience.

Pros: Had all that we needed there for a very reasonable price. Very olde world atmosphere which we loved. Great view from the room. Close to the airport which is handy.
Cons: Not a criticism as such, but I would prefer not to have the TV in a cupboard as it made it a little difficult to view at certain angles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location. We were on holiday for 2 weeks & stayed the 1st two nights at THL, trip got cut short due to Covid-19 and we booked the last two nights at THL but only stayed 1, would stay there again. Staff were great, especially Sharon head of house keeping :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the room was very soundproof. We liked the little breakfasts resupplied daily but wondered why there was butter and nothing to put it on. Wondered why there were no coasters as worried about putting hot drinks on some of the table surfaces.

Pros: The toilet block was very clean. The reviews for this place did not match our experience.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent location in a lovely part of Nelson, easy 2 minute walk to shops, restaurants and great cafes.
Cons: The valet parking of the car was great but picking up proved slow - it was easier to head around to the carpark oneself and drive out. I'd love to have seen more healthy vegetarian options on the room service late night menu.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and lovely old world environment

4.2 Okay
Pros: if you have to stay at this hotel, request a room with a view of the church. Also, the hotel was clean and had nice shampoo.
Cons: In the 2 weeks that we spent traveling throughout NZ, we have had wonderful accommodations with the Rutherford being the exception. This hotel does not belong in the luxury category, although by the decor and age of the bedspread (yes, I said bedspread) and bed linens perhaps it once was. The lobby is stale and lifeless even in high season. Customer service was poor. And the very worst part, THEY RATION WIFI DATA!! Good luck browsing the internet to plan your activities, email friends and family back home or share your photos on social media!!

Pros: Location, although out from Nelson CBD, it's only about 10 or 12 minutes by car. Handy to WOW museum, and a nice beach, amongst other things. Very friendly proprietor. Good facilities.
Cons: My only minor gripe would be to add, maybe, a smaller saucepan and a frying pan to the kitchen equipment. A bit of a challenge to cook a meal in only one large pot.

7.0 Good
Pros: Room and bathroom were clean, and the shared kitchen was also ok. There was a shared lounge and a good ambiance, quiet and friendly.
7.0 Good
Pros: Cosy hostel with good indoor and outdoor chill out areas. Rooms were clean Andy dorm had plug sockets next to each bed which is always handy. Only a short walk into town, or a 5 min cycle (cycles for hire). Staff were friendly and basic breakfast (toast / jam etc.) was good. Overall had a good experience.
Cons: There was a mix up with my room when I arrived - I was left the wrong key to a room which was already full. Because the reception is not open 24hours, we had to call the emergency contact number to get it sorted but it was fine on the end. The system of leaving keys for out of hours check in doesn’t seem to be the most secure or clear for new arrivals.
