We had great time in Capolago. The hotel was clean and we had private parking for the room. If you are going there, go to the nearby meat restaurant!
Very clean and new, lots of amenities, very nice and polite staff, very nice breakfast (included), great price-to-service ratio. It can be noisy from visitors, their children and sometimes from the (distant) street - keeping an open window may be difficult while sleeping.
Modern, clean facility. Very convenient
Good for business people and meetings. Rich breakfast buffet.
Nice, quiet and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Flexible check-out. Bycicle road around the lake is very nice. They advertise renting canoes/kayaks which was not possible on site, just 1 hour away from the hotel. Free bikes in bad condition. Close to Lake Varese (swimming is not possible in the lake!), but far from the city of Varese or train station unless you have a car.
We liked the design of the room and of the hotel, the cleanliness of the room We did not like the hotel staff who was rather cold, unfriendly
Enough parking space. Room is adequate. No atmosphere. Reception is just a big open space with a few tables and chairs. Breakfast buffet is rather simple and seems not to be refreshed when finished. Website says bicycles available, however there were just 2 bicycles of which 1 was broken and 1 was a bike for a kid.
New, good rooms, good area to take vacations
calmness the price seems to me is a little high
Beautiful Palazzo. Location to Lakes maggiore, lugano and como by auto. Great Value for March holiday. Beautiful dining room with great wait staff, however food was not up to expectations and disappointing.
room had a good view. spacious room and bath. bath had window. good towels. good bed and bedding. no mirror in room, only in bath. no pictures on wall of room--looked unfinished. breakfast not included. not much to do or see in the town. bed pillows not good.
Nice building, old Villa and nice place. Poor service and quality. For example: no water in the bathroom and strong difficulties to obtain a solution / low medium equipment in bathroom. Bathroom not very clean: hair in the WC. Staff not very friendly and hepfull. This hotel is max a 3 stars as compared to many 4 stars hotel visited in the world.
The beautiful linens and ambiance of the room was very relaxing.
The hotel was amazing!!! So beautiful, old world European. We loved it.
hotel staffs were very nice and competent. Very nice atmosphere. peaceful. Air condition was not working. Refrigerator was out of order.
big parking, nice enviorment, nice rooms the restaurant services (and food) were very bad, in my room were problems with warm water
The hotel is a 17th century villa, relatively recently renovated and surrounded with gardens. Halls are impressive and the overall atmosphere is great. Rooms / bathrooms are spacious, very clean and all facilities are working well. Views are nice and the place is very quite. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very friendly. Great place to stay if visiting the lakes and have car. Not really. There might be a problem finding the place since it is located in a small village 2 Km off Varese, but when you get familiar with the signposting and the overall direction it is ok.
Food was good
Terrace Showercabin, no restaurant available, ants in our room, rolls during breakfast were baked 5 minutes too short (far too soft inside and white on the outside, no free internet.
The beautiful gardens and grounds, professional staff and old world charm of the hotel.
Great style "art nouveau" palace.
very comfortable, beutiful location
Internal and external appearance - classic style
no internet in the room, and expensive to improve it
Good size triple room No
The staf is amazing and the breakfast is soo good. It's panoramic position is a bonus and the stile of the hotel makes me feel very pampered! Complementi!!
Wonderful hotel, very friendly staff and great value. Perfect base for exploring the Lakes Breakfast was fabulous but the dinner menu was limited and fairly expensive - frozen pizza on the menu.... in Italy? Oh dear!
Spacey Room, Good View, Quite, Poor and expensive restaurant, located in the middle of nowhere, unfriendly staff, staff does not speak english, no international TV programs,
Beautiful looks, hotel placed on mountain top. Hotel is very old. Beds are bad, there are lots of noises during the night of machines working and you can hear the neighbours loud and clear. Light in the bathroom broke down during our one night stay and the carpet was dirty. Very unpleasant stay.
This hotel is a roadside motel..overpriced...bad service.....rude reception...bad location......very noisy.....and make sure you double check your bill at the end!!!!!!
The bed was extremely confortable, maid service excellent and the spa, pools and steam room facilities were wonderful! No milk in the room for coffee/tea and we could easily hear our neighbors activities.
Excellent quality and design of furniture and fittings, decoration, atmosphere, beds, bathroom, solid windows double-glazed. Good spa facilities. Set on edge of countryside. Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom. When outside, some noise from nearby road. Bicycles advertised were not usable due to flat tyres.
Spacious, well-eqipped room. Friendly staff. Building work going on, causing noise.
Fantastic value for money None
It's near to the Lago. We can't check in at 14p.m. We have to wait. We are missing the the hair drier. I mean it must be normaly. Only one nighttable, the room was not vacuum. We told them and it was going 4 hours someware coming. They don't knock at the door. The night dinner is more than expensive. The breakfest ist to little. On Sunday 9a.m. you get no roll. I mean the hotel is to expensive.
there wasn't much that we liked; breakfast was fine the room and furnishings were old and tired; the staff was courteous and professional but not friendly; dinner, while good, was over-priced for the quantity.
Great Location, nice and friendly staff. Restaurant not satisfying. Would prefere more authentic Italian kitchen. Too expensive.
Very nice hotel: clean, luxe, nice staff. Excellent!
The staff was very kind and rooms are quite spacious. Nice both swimming pool and fitness. Lack of its own style
The lady at the front desk initially gave us a disabled's room which we didn't like, So she gave us a junior suite instead without additional charge. Breakfast good, Plenty of free parking including indoors. The front desk staff should improve their knowledge of English, as not every guest is a native Italian speaker.
The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly. The swimming pool was too small.
comfortable bedroom and equipment
Everything that the hotel arrange is remarkable. The internet service is not to the hotel expectation...
Comfortable large room and bathroom. Comfortable bed, good shower and large balcony with nice chairs. Not enough information in the room on how to use the tv etc. Also door lock took time to work out
Every thing None
Nice people(great service italian/dutch speaking girl at reception and from bar-tender) - bright building - good rooms good pool (wife) - great fitness (me) Not too many
Lovely hotel! It's very well located, decoration is hip and tasteful in a charming old villa. The staff is really helpful, the restaurant is above expectations for hotels in Italy, even the music was awesome there. I think it misses a swimming pool but other than that everything was perfect.
Rooms were very spacious and nice. The best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel.
I loved the eco friendly rooms, such as the re usable towels and sensored lights. Also the music in the room was a great touch A clock in the room would be great. Along with turning off the outside music earlier in the evening. Otherwise, loved the place and if ever back in Varese, would definitely stay there.
Great room - very modern and spacious. Dinner at the hotel was rather disappointing....E.g. please, don´t take their Cesar Salad unless you are ready for lots of red meat. It has no resemblance with classic cesar salad. Given the great location and closeness to town, would strongly recommend dining elsewhere....
Quiet location, very close to Villa Panza. Relaxing facility--comfortable bed, nice big soaking tub. Hard to get to from train station--too far to walk with luggage or in bad weather. Cab driver couldn't find it--took us to the wrong hotel with a similar name. Restaurant not open for dinner.
Comfort of room
clean comfortable room and modern decor
Very relaxed atmosphere, excellent breakfast, really friendly staff, nicely appointed rooms Road noise in the loft room
An unexpected suprise. The room was wondersful and the restauarant was a bonus with great food and wine. Nothing. Everything was great.
Excellent location, 5 minutes walk to the town centre and railway station
Staff were accommodating and friendly. Central location. The hotel was in need of a refurbishment, it looked tired and the rooms were slightly shabby - bath equipment was noisy, some of it not working etc.
offer for the group
Very close to the railway station, the breakfast was excellent and very nicely presented. Free access to internet.
the hotel staff was very nice and helpful no
The location was brilliant. It was clean. Wish I could have had the breakfast any time as had to leave at 6am but not to be expected
Absolute great hotel. Very nice staff and clean room. Right across the train to get to Milan, Rome etc. A+++ It' s downtown and that means traffic and constructions (very early)
The location was great. The staff were very very helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Very polite and helpful staff, clean, luxurious, close to the center, free wifi, very reasonably priced room and services, indoors monitored garage.
courtesy of staff, No English TV channels except CNN/BBC, Same limited breakfast menu on all six days!
The breakfast was quite under standard for a four star hotel.
Very clean & comfortable No Restaurant was closed . We had a business partner call and we could not even have coffee this was very poor for a four star hotel 3pm in the afternoon and nothing to offer him did not go down very well.
I booked this hotel as it offered airport shuttle transfer, and public internet access in the lobby. The airport shuttle was not available on weekends so therefore i had to make my own way to the hotel. On arrival i tried to organise a shuttle transfer for a weekday morning and was told it is 'on request' only and should have been made at time of booking. The shuttle was not available for the day i required so i was forced to make other arrangements. Internet speed is very slow, with the only access being provided by laptop at the reception desk....
pool and hotel rooms prices of drinks and pizza....my one niught stay with family inc. a few drinks and a pizza each cost 260 euros which is just too much.
hotel was Ok, clean, quiet, ... I had to pay 50 euros for a transfer to milan airport while it is stated that it is free of charge on booking website ! this is unacceptable
Staff friendliness, modern, clean rooms, free internet. Lack of in-room hot drink facility (no hotel coffee bar).
Very modern rooms. We booked 4 non-smoking rooms but 2 of us had smoking rooms.
nice and clean hotel nobody told us that there were a bus to the Salone International Mobile from Varese. When we got to know it, nobody told us that the bus didn´t go from the hotel.
Picked because of the location. Breakfast was good. The ventilation / AC did not work in the room. The bedding was poor, very short sheet.
Very nice area very quite with beautifull view on the valley Breakfast is very lousy for a 4* Hotel as are the prices for food and drinks. I am sure it can be improved.
Size, comfort and cleanliness of room The location: hotel is more than half way up a mountain and some distance from Verese. Sat Nav is a must to find it
personal service of staff....excellent
The staff and location
Fantastic environments. Fabulous view over Varese.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is in a beautiful location!
The hotel has an intimate and personal touch. The hotel has nice surroundings: a mountainous village and a monastery. We were surprised at the high prices in the restaurant. Here is an advice (not really original, but still valid): make sure you check the price list before ordering and ask one if they do not give it. One should not expect to automatically receive a menu.
Fabulous setting! Hotel manager was charming, speaks excellent English. Beautiful & room, very quiet, with comfortable bed.
Staff great, views fantstic, Sacro Monte church outstandingly beautiful and should not be missed, village so quaint. Cobbled steep narrow streets may not suit everyone tho. We will definately go back.
The site, the views, the excellent food (and waiting-on-staff) and the pleasantness of the Manager. No complaints whatsoever. N/A
Helpful staff, location
The room was a decent size -- the a/c and the internet both worked well. Breakfast was very good. Parking was no problem. Laundry service is available. The dinner menu was expensive, and the menu was very limited. The food, was of good quality. The shower in the room was very small.
It was situated in the downtown with easy access to the shopping area and restaurants. The hotel was small with few facilities especially for families with young children. Breakfast menu was poor ( It was supposed to be a buffet breakfast.) In sum, it was not worth the amount of money we paid.
Staff was very good and the breakfast the following morning. I did not feel the beddig in the rooms was all that good. Most Ibis Hotels for far less money far exceed the standard and quality of these rooms. I felt the rooms were "overpriced" for what you received.
The location is excellent. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is fine for the preis. WLAN is expensive.
Staff who helped us, especially as we had very little Italian It took a while to discover that the metal room key was the "trigger" that had to be inderted into a slot in the wall for the room lights - I have only ever encountred plastic cards that perform this function - this was our first trip to Italy so perhaps it is usual in Italy.
Helpful reception staff and friendly breakfast ladies. The Restaurant, the service poor and confusing. The food expensive for what you got. Not recommended at all. For a three star hotel we expected a lot better quality.
The location adjacent to the old precinct of Varese was excellent and the staff were always helpful and friendly.
Gute Lage, Frühstücksbuffet, Parkplatz We actually booked a non-smoking room. Nevertheless there was obviously a smoker in the room just before. After the second day it was ok.
central location very poor breakfast, overall rating (3***) is too high - 2** would be more relevant
Fine little hotel, centrally located, with private car park. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Reasonably priced.
Hotel staff at the front desk. Shower, water does not have enough power and temperature varies
The bed was huge, the breakfast good and all at a reasonable price
Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. We arrived really late and hungry - they provided a delicious vitello tonnato and dessert at 11.30pm, were friendly and helpful at all times and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The rooms were pleasant, the showers awesome, and minor problems were dealt with at once. I'd happily return - the weather wasn't their fault! Breakfast coffee came in smallish cups, and only one cup per person.
Very new and excellent!! It was perfect, I really recommend it.
Hotel was very nice and clean. Breakfast was really good. It was quite far away from everything and there wasn't a swimming beach on the lake. A bit boring to a person travelling alone.
the food in the restaurant was very nice and at reasonable price "lake view room" was mainly parking view (only side view of the lake)
Comfortable, accommodating, near the lakeside, nice rooms, good breakfast.
(in english). Very nice hotel, quiet,
quiet and nice place to stay.hotel staff were excellent.clean and comfort room.good breakfast. no
Very friendly staff, good buffet breakfast. Rooms comfortable but a little tired. Lake views description is a bit ambitious, could see a little corner of the lake out of our window. Overall a good alternative to an overpriced Milan hotel if you do not need to be in the city.
The hotel was nice, clean and friendly staff .it is airconditioned and the break fast was good
Very friendly staff. Rooms are beautiful and very clean.
Overall the hotel was excellent and the staff made us very welcome. We were even given an itinery for going visiting round the area.We would stay there again.
Friendly helpful staff
The Hotel is in excellent shape, the staff was very friendly. We had a booking problem due to an interface issue with booking.com and they found a very good solution on the spot. They speak french and english, which is an advantage. The breakfast was excellent. Be sure to get a room in the upper floor on the back side as you'll have a view on lake Varese. Note that the Hotel is in town, but not in the center. There are no sidewalks, so expect to use a car to visit the surroundings.
Excellent quality family hotel with extremely helpful staff. Non
Comfortable family run hotel in Varese.Hotel is about 20 minutes from the Swiss border and about 45-60mins. to either Stresa, Como or Orta San Giulio. The hotel has a lot of caché. Rooms are spacious, decorated with old furniture. The rooms facing the street didn't have a great view, however, the rooms facing the rear had nicer views. Service was excellent. There are 3 parking options: in their private parking garage (8€), in the rear of the hotel (5-6 spots only) and otherwise on the streets near the hotel (it’s safe and also free of charge). Breakfast buffet was good, above average for italian hotels. Overall it’s a comfortable family run hotel with good price/quality ratio not too far from Ticino/Italian lakes.
Pur essendoci stato solo una notte lo terro' certamente presente per altri soggiorni.
