10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking to stay in nor near to Bagnoles de l'orne for one night. This exceeded all of our expectations. Our accommodation was spacious, stylish, spotless, beautiful furnished and finished off with delightful touches, just awaiting to be discovered. The king sized bed was made up with inviting French linen, which both guaranteed and delivered a good night's sleep. The breakfast was, first a feast for the eyes, the table set with crisp white linen and elegant tableware in a stylish dining room. Secondly, breakfast was delicious. Warm brioche French toast, beautifully fresh pain au raisin, local yoghurt, home made conserves and warm multi grain baguette. Fruit juice and freshly made hot drinks of our choice.
Cons: That our commitments meant that we could only stay for one night.

Pros: Beautiful location surrounded by countryside yet only a few minutes from the town. The house is full of character and beautifully furnished and cared for and on a cold, stormy early June evening the blazing log fire that greeted me was more than welcome. Victoria and Richard, the hosts, are so warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast too.

The medieval town of Domfront is fascinating with its old castle and good restaurants. Lots of interesting local towns and pretty villages. The Voie Verte cycle way along an old railway line was great fun but a bit hard work getting to it! Really need to go back for another visit as far too much to do in just four days.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: As a family we absolutely loved La Corbonniere, the location was beautiful, our young boys were thrilled with the outdoor space and all the animals to look at. Breakfast was great, local produce, served with a smile! The accommodation was beautiful, spacious rooms and a great family bathroom and the peace and quiet was exceptional.
Cons: The only thing we felt lacked was the opportunity to be a bit more 'self catering' so we could have more easily made sandwiches and whatnot for day trips, but that really is a small niggle and we would definitely return.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The setting is stunning. The old buildings have been beautifully renovated and very tastefully decorated. The room we had was extremely spacious and comfortable. The owner is very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and we had a choice of eating inside or outside.
Cons: The Auberge is in the middle of nowhere but, as it is a restaurant too, we expected to be able to have an evening meal. We arrived there having driven 650 Km from further south and were looking forward to a cool drink and then a meal. Much to our dismay we discovered that meals are only provided at the weekend. There was nowhere to even get a cold drink! Having driven all that way we then had to drive 13 Km into Bagnoles-de-l'Orne to have a beer and a meal! We were extremely disappointed and would warn anyone going midweek to take their own food or be prepared to drive 13km! Also, with the rooms being in the roof space and only having a Velux window, they get very hot. No aircon or fans are provided.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall very nice hotel
Cons: Breakfast could have more choice. Slightly basic.

Pros: This wonderful place is unique! It’s decoration is stunning. The rooms were all very special - the bed was super comfy and each room was decorated with love. The hosts were just wonderful and the meal that was prepared in the evening was delicious - seafood done to perfection! Breakfast was great too. All they need is to ensure they have a swimming pool next year when we arrive!
Cons: This is about a unique experience and to mention the odd little thing is petty and misses the point about this very special place to stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It isn’t just LoLa the dog who “overflows with friendliness” at this elegant and welcoming Chateau: the hosts immediately made us feel at home and also happen to be excellent cooks, so we enjoyed a lovely dinner there too. Pros: A little gem. Beautiful location, beautiful building and the service was second to none. We were stopping on our way back to the ferry and this was a perfect stopover. Thank you - we were made so welcome

Pros: Yann and Havre were outstanding hosts. We arrived just before midnight and got lost. Yann drove a good 3 miles to come to where we were. Dinner with them and a few other guests was delicious and a great way to indulge in some French cuisine. We were travelling with two young kids who are fussy eaters. Yann made some pasta for them which they absolutely loved. The spa was also another hit with us. Breakfast was also nicely presented and the kids enjoyed the variety of pastries available every morning.
Cons: We would have loved some light refreshments in the apartment, such a coffees, teas and water. Maybe this is something that the owners can look to introduce in the future.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: We were hoping for a rural location off the beaten track where we could relax and unwind and that's exactly what we got. Linda & Dave were fabulous hosts and it very much felt that we were staying with old friends. We had a home cooked meal one evening and they perfectly catered for one of us being vegetarian. The meal was beautifuly cooked and very reasonably priced. The large double room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and had a useful area with sofas and TV. The velux window overlooks fields and the the owners ducks, chickens & turkeys. There are lots of places where you can walk and we spent a morning exploring Des Gorges de Villiers which is well worth a visit. The local towns La Ferte-Mace (which has a fantastic swimming and boating lake) and Bagnoles-de-l'Orne (with stunning architecture) are beautiful and have lots of restaurants, cafés and boutique style shops. In conclusion if you're looking to relax, experience a traditional French smallholding and be very well looked after during your stay we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lingramiere in Saint-Patrice-du-Désert.

Pros: We had an amazing stay at Linda and Dave's place ! The room was great, clean, the bed was really confortable and we had everything we needed (and even more than what we needed !!). We chose to have dinner there and didn't regret it at all, it was very good ! The breakfast was really good too. We really appreciated the time Linda and Dave took to welcome us and to make us visit their lovely place. For the people doing the "Véloscénie" bike trip : it's a perfect stop between Carrouges and Bagnoles de l'Orne, almost on the bike way. We wish we could have stay a bit longer and we will stay there again for sure if we come back in the region ! Thank you for everything, we really had a good time !

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have never been to this area before and were very surprised at the charm of the surrounding picturesque village and beautiful woodland area. The hotel was a great find very welcoming and lovely to have a heated pool on a 36c day. Set in a forest area the hotel is very charming with nice staff. We will definitely return.
Cons: Staff were very friendly but there was a shortage of them, so we had to go and find them for service.
6.8 Good
Pros: The setting , the gardens and the pool.
Cons: Huge very pretty bathroom but nearly useless cause no hot water. The staff did what they could to help and eventually assigned us another bathroom in another building, which was.nice but kind of defeats the purpose, of having the bathroom ensuite... The management on the other hand were merely apolegetic and did not seem to be that bothered. In a 4* hotel this is hardly understandable and we would have expected a commercial gesture. Too bad. We won t come back.

Pros: Location is perfect.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The friendly staff. The value of having the use of a lift.
Cons: The location was lacking for close alternative eating places.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Food was very good. Omelettes as well as normal continental breakfast. Good choice of evening menu. 1 liter wine at dinner great value. Location good.
Cons: Initial rooms offered on top floor quite small and stuffy - one window. Moved to 1st floor rooms overlooking river which were excellent. Suggest you ask for rooms 105 (best), 104, 106. On town square. We stayed on Bastille weekend so there was a noisy fair, roundabouts, dodgems. However, the noise didn't go on all night and wasn't a problem. Suggest you check your dates to see if anything is on the square.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel for a short stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the peace and quiet of the bedroom we were allocated, overlooking the river ( we DID ask for a quiet room when we booked). Staff were lovely/friendly. Meal at night very good. All in all we would definitely stay again...
Cons: On enterring our room, it was immediately obvious that the cleaner with the hoover had spent less than 30 seconds doing the carpet. Also, the bottom of the bed valance, where it meets the carpet, was badly stained and unsightly. Didn't bother to mention either issue to the staff---perhaps should have done.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. We really liked the freshly cooked omelettes and ample tea/coffee and orange juice; also the variety of foods available. The staff were really friendly and we were grateful for them allowing us to store our tandem bicycle safely in the garage. The location was pure joy, next to the river and with lots of colourful flowers. We had probably the nicest room overlooking both the town square and the river. The refurbished building had fine architecture and great furniture.
Cons: The shower in our room just needed a little attention, but worked fine otherwise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an an evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Both were excellent. The staff were so helpful and the Hotel is a picture
Cons: Leaving.
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the special Dinner and it was excellent. Dining on the terrace with the magnificent view of the Lake made 14th July a very special evening.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous view over the lake at dinner. Food was good, room was clean and comfy pool and leisure facilities were nice. What more could you want.
Cons: Some information was not given. IE the deal with bath robes and the procedure at breakfast. Hence we were hunting around for cutlery and we should have taken a prepared tray. The guy was standing there and we made ourselves and room number known, but he didn't say anything. Just a small comment about non communication. The same as the bath robes we noticed many people had and wondered why we didn’t. We eventually read about the deal in the room blurb which by then we couldn't be bothered to go back and get some. Having said that, we appreciated free parking and enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming and comfortable hotel with a superb restaurant
Cons: All was goodg
6.3 Good
Pros: The location and the pool. Breakfast had good choices.
Cons: The fact that there wasn’t a residents bar, only a bar in the Restaurant, which didn’t open until 7 pm so no chance of a pre-dinner drink. First Hotel ever where this was not possible. Also ate dinner one night during our stay and my lamb was so over cooked could not eat. Complained but was ignored.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything and especially the view from our room. Very well managed hotel with excellent professional staff both at reception and at dinner and breakfast service.
Cons: No adverse criticisms to make
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for the town. Very good breakfast choices.
Cons: Nothing of note.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Dinner on the terrace. Terrace and lake view from bedroom. Welcome at check in. Staff in restaurant.
Cons: Attitude of guy on desk at check out. Just didn’t match the pleasantness of the other staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is good
Cons: Impersonal staff, and a very long delay at checkout
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A warm friendly welcome. The hotel is superbly situated with beautiful views over the lake and casino with parking at the rear. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good and the evening meal on the terrace overlooking the lake was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The spa facility is good, although changing rooms could be better, and towels and robes are supplied as required. A good place to stay when visiting Bagnoles.
Cons: Whilst a mini bar in the room would have been welcome there is not much to dislike about the hotel.
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast and friendly staff
Cons: Swimming pool, no towels at the pool bit Old fashioned
