Leisure club and facilities Looking tired in places
The Hotel was in a superb location. The staff were excellent in their attitude...really helpful. We only stayed one night and it was fine for that. I would compare it with a ' motel' more than a ' hotel' The gardens were well looked after. A shabby and tired appearance.
Location Noise coming from fan at back of hotel durning the night which woke me up. As i am a heavy sleeper it had to be loud. I reported it at reception who said it was coming from adjacent premises.
The breakfast was great It needs updating and redecorating!
pool was good
View from Hotel was amazing. Breakfast was very good and staff were pleasent. Room was badly set out and small. It was grubby and never got cleaned the whole time we were there. Outdoor pool was nice and green, had somebody working on it all week, but never seemed to be ready. The whole place just needs a good clean up and brought up to current times.
only the helpfullness of the night porter. we asked if we could park our motorbike nearer the room by the main reception, and were told "no, you are only allowed to use the carpark, whilst we understand the reasons behind this for cars, it seems a little harsh for motorbikes, hence my partner was constantly having to go to the bottom carpark to check on the bike, we have never had this experience anywhere else.
I liked the convenience of the chalet style room The hotel was lovely; it just wasn't really directed at my age group. I probably wouldn't recomend it for that reason; not because of anything that the hotel did wrong.
None! I was absolutely disgusted by the service, quality and performance of the hotel. I was so shocked and disgusted that had I spoken to the staff then I would have lost my patience and tempers would have flared. The way the staff approched and manner left me with no confidence to speak to them on this matter.
close to centre not always possible to get a parking voucher
Queen size bed was very spacious. Room was clean. No mirror in the bedroom, bathroom only. Room was opposite a busy public house, noisy people waking us up the early hours of the morning. No tea facilities in the room only in public lounge.
Excellent Stay - perfects for what we wanted and superb value for money - will be recommending it Nothing
Flexibility of the staff, as I was leaving earlier than they started breakfast they left items out for me to help myself. Wide choice of drinks and refreshments. The offsite parking is a bit of a pain.
From the moment of arrival the staff were very friendly & helpful. Really enjoyed the stay apart from the very cold bathroom. The en suite bathroom didn't have a heater or a blind up at the window to stop the draught a bit more. It was much too cold to even consider having a shower. We didn't mention it to the staff as we hate making a fuss. However because the staff were so lovely, we would still come and stay again. But not in that particular room!
All good None
Very clean and friendly Noisy pub over the road
Fabulous value for money, in fact I was very impressed with everything. Central location. Comfort. Decor. None.
Hotel staff pleasant with good attitude and prepared to go out of their way to be helpful. Room recently refurbished with good finishings. Super lounge. Mirror needed in bedroom area. Very noisy outside on Saturday night - really badly behaved youths shouting and screaming outside the hotel(obviously not the fault of the hotel - may simply have been a rowdy night in Weymouth).
Receptionist/room maid/ waitress, Didn't get her name but seemed to do she all jobs and with great humour and friendliness. Carpets stained in bedroom and on the stairs. TV didn't work. Didnt get twin room as booked although above mentioned lady moved the beds and changed it into a twin, very willingly.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and spacious for a very reasonable cost. The road at the front of the hotel (which our room overlooked) was very busy, with traffic noise until late at night and from early in the morning - if we stayed there again we would ask for a room at the back (there were none free during our visit)
The owner was courteous and helpful, without being 'full-on'/obtrusive. Rather prescriptive approach to cleaning the room - if there was no 'free to service' sign left on the door, then the room wasn't cleaned, even though it was clear guests had left and the room would need cleaning. We forgot to put the sign out but a knock on our door would have soon ascertained we weren't in. The room reamined uncleaned. When this was mentioned to the owner later in the day and that as we were going out again the room would be free for cleaning if he wanted to go in, he replied by saying 'staff weren't in to do it' - yet he was! As we were only staying for 3 nights, this was an issue I wouldn't have expected, especially for the price and previous reviews.
Fresh fruit salad at breakfast was excellent! Stopped serving breakfast quite early (9a.m)
Friendly staff, near to local amenities, yummy fruit salad breakfast.
Clean, efficient, just what I was looking for.
everything about the ashmira is first class the owner roger is welcoming the standard of hotel is fantastic and the breakfast is great . n/a
Peace and quiet, good breakfast
The rooms are lovely and bright and kept to a high standard and the breakfast is cracking and keep you going all day There is nothing we did not like about this hotel
Spotlessly clean and most welcoming staff, wonderfull breakfast meal better than most hotels I have stayed in. Being petty !! car park on small side having to juggle around cars.but no way ruined any part of holiday.
Easily found - excellent breakfast and room was very comfortable - although found the shower a bit small but this didn't put me off staying at the Ashmira again. NOTHING
the overall professionalism of the staff was pleasing.the room was spacious and clean.one small maintenance job was dealt with quickly with no inconvenience caused. Nothing worth mentioning
Was able to relax. Staff were very good in that I had to change to a 2 day instead of 3 day stay (weather issues) and they were able to cope with this. Also I and other guests arrived before the 2.00 pm time but they willingly adjusted the rooms rather than waiting for the cleaner to finish. Walked to town & beach OK even for me with wa\lking stick. Quiet night even with wedding party in hotel. Plenty of parking. The meals were carvery type both dinner and breakfast so one did not know how long food had been left to keep warm on the hot plate or in fat. This is just a personal preference. My main reason for visit was go to the Monkey World centre at Wareham - they did not seem to have a leaflet nor did they provide me with information.
Vacinity in relationship to the beach was very good
level walk to beach and town centre
tired looking bathroom
Staff were friendly and very helpful.Really enjoyed our stay and would liked to have stayed longer. Just needs redecoration
Convenient for the harbour and our return trip to Guernsey.
good food room location
very friendly and homely feel to it nothing
close to sea front and night life last decorated in the early eighties, badly! reception area very nice but the rest of the hotel is a bit run down
Very cozy room and a huge bath - great for couples Hike upstairs may get tiring after a bi
The attention to all our comforts and wants by the charming owner
One of the nicest B&B's I have ever stayed in Just ask for less pepper on the breakfast !
Very attentive staff, excellent bed/bedding, superb breakfast. Location excellent. No coffee in rooms. Scaffolding all around outside made us wary about opening windows at night. Has to ask for butter and butter knives each day at breakfast. Window in one bathroom was at knee height, next to wc with no blind or curtain, we only discovered later that it was mirrored so passers by could not look in - wish we'd known earlier ! Host provided 24hour parking passes, after we had already paid to park, advance notice would have been helpful.
This is a near perfect B&B. The owner is lovely and extremely welcoming, the room (a Luxury Double) was excellent with views over the harbour and beach and it was quiet and tranquil. Breakfast was excellent and relaxed with free papers. We were given a parking permit which gave us free parking for the duration. And the owner even said we could stay on a few hours more if we wished. In short this deserves 100% as it is so very good. Thank you. Nothing.
Excellent location, lovely attentive host and excellent facilities None
great service, friendly will stay again none
Fantastic quality of room, bathroom, friendly and helpful staff finally but not last - we got a really nice breakfast, just like at home Nothing

Friendly Staff, Nice Rooms Nothing
Lovely room,clean everything you need.
Great room and excellent breakfast served in a charming manner.
The room was large, comfortable an well-furnished. The breakfasts were very good, as was the service. Very pleasant hosts.
The breakfast was very good with a variety to choose from, staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is on the waterfront with many amemities close to hand.
Excellent value for money. None
Nothing was too much trouble ie went the extra mile None
Friendly atmosphere clean good food Extractor fans noisy otherwise no problems
The Alendale had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, Denise and Jim were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. It was very close to the beach and a short walk to the shops. The full English breakfast was cooked fresh and served hot.
Breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed the break. Booking again later in the year.
The owners were very helpful when our ferry from Jersey was delayed and allowed us to check in late. In the morning breakfast was really tasty served in a cosy breakfast room. The room was compact but very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. The homemade shortbread and fresh flowers a really nice touch. If we are that way again we will undoubtably re book.
they were friendly, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, overall a nice stay!
The welcome we just needed after a long journey. Welcoming tea and biscuits, and a good recommendation for a restuarant in Weymouth. a very comfortable and restful stay.
Clean comfortable room. Friendly hosts.Good location.
Excellent value of money. Our stay was absolutely perfect, Nick and Caroline are excellent hosts, the room was first class, and the breakfast a real treat.
Charming old house, attractive and good quality furnishings, good bathroom, quiet room, excellent breakfast, local parking, convenient location.
ensuite room, early breakfast available, wifi in rooms, off road parking, comfortable rooms, friendly owners, good internet offers.. nothing.
The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help.
Friendly staff, very clean & well presented. Always helpful with directions/maps
