8.0 Excellent
Pros: No fuss kind of place. Check-in and check-out took less than a minute each. Payment - very easy too. Location was the very best, right in the center of town, but on a side street, and thus also very, very calm and quiet.
Cons: We stayed for two days. On the second day our key card died ... luckily we found out during the daytime, or else we might have been in trouble, since reception is not manned during evening / night. Exchange to a keycard in working order went very fast. On second thought, there may have been a phone number or such on the key card in case of an emergency like this - did not check that :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very nice and everything is new The restaurant is really good
Cons: The check in process in my case was a little complicated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel rooms were away from the restaurant and were completely silent.
Cons: Everything was perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The size of the room and bathroom was super! Excellent noise isolation, there was no noise of the pub next door. Very good restaurant.
Cons: The reception, why? The reception was the location from where people were seated in the restaurant, were the take away food was collected, etc. When you arrive at 1800 you have to wait very long to get your keys and go to your room. The breakfast was good, but the refill of the food was poor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very attentive and professional and the room clean. The breakfast was tasty, soft boiled eggs done very well but the reality is not as glamorous as the pictures imply. Parking is available on premises which was convenient but it gets locked down between 23h and 06h.
Cons: Everything was fine but overpriced.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very nice and comfortable, plus the location was right in the center
Cons: The breakfast could be better and there is only limited parking for about 8 cars in the hotels car park
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It looks like a new Hotel attached to a great Restaurant.
Cons: Breakfast could be better but nothing to complain about
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amanda was the host very friendly and helpful Strong
Cons: Nothing

Helved Skovmølle B&B - Augustenborg - Building
5
8.7 Excellent (62 reviews)
7.0 Good
Pros: Very quiet B&B in a friendly private home. Great woods and plenty of nature just outside the door.
Cons: You will probably have a problem finding it without a GPS - but with a GPS it was no problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly people and wonderful location for a bnb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were extremly kind and nice to us. We had the easy parking for free right infront of the house. The rooms and the whole house were warm, clean and very cozy. You can find everything you might need in the kitchen and the owners make you feel like at home. If we will planing go to Danmark we will stay definatly in this place. Also its 6min away from the ferry stop to Aero Island. It was great experience!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: the quilt was thin
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were wonderful, the house was cozy, and the breakfast was excellent. The hiking around the B&B is breathtaking!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location, real nice people
Cons: We brought a van, that was convenient because otherwise it would have been real hot, since it is real hot now in Denmark.
Det Gamle Rådhus - Gråsten - Bedroom
6
8.4 Excellent (498 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Det Gamle Rådhus in Grasten, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Grasten Palace and Adsbol Church. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Planning an event in Grasten? This hotel has facilities measuring 538 square feet (50 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: location is good. Restaurant is good only it is not open for dinner.
Cons: The only possibility for diner was a pizza from one of the three pizza restaurants in Grasten.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located smack in the middle of town (big surprise when it's the old city hall), with gloriously furnished rooms and a classic, scandinavian flair. The rooms are named after royalty, the hotel hosts weddings every other Friday and the staff are very accommodating - in Danish, English and German to boot! Don't expect a lavish breakfast, but all the staples are there, with made-to-order fresh eggs (omelette, scrambled or fried, with cheese, tomatoes or chives) and pots of strong, black coffee. There is even free parking available behind the building, next to a small grocery store.
Cons: No dinner service available - but really, there are venues aplenty within a short driving distance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room that we got, was very clean. Spacious. Modern. Well decorated. And you could see a seagull building a nest. Very Central to the town. All though not described in the description. The women who served us first at the hotel was very polite and friendly. Then the manager came and dismissed her, and was more abrupt!
Cons: I didn't like the fact, that the pictures showing the room I had booked was nothing like what we got. It was an apartment but wasn't in the same hotel. No kitchen facilities provided. The car parking was just some spaces in a carpark next to a supermarket. There was a random door that had cotton wool in the lock...which led in to a different building.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was spacious and well equipped
Cons: The one room had a bed that was supposed to be for 2 people however it was to small, when we asked for an extra bed we got a broken fold up bed with the camping mattress so my son had to sleep on the floor. The staff were not very friendly and helpful and there was no coffee machine in the apartment. We had to pay for a flask of coffee when we asked at reception. The apartment is old so the price should be adjusted. We stayed in a nice modern apartment for the same price last time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, nice quiet town, friendly staff at breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel is very nice and clean. The breakfast was also very tasty and a lot of choice.
Cons: I was there with a motorcycle and there was unfortunately no place somewhere to put under a roof that I sometimes prefer to do so.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A little expensive but this was probably due to an increase in prices because of the Bon Jovi concert in the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, superb building, on-site parking, great beds and good restaurant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the rooms were clean but we were not in the hotel
Cons: we arrived at the hotel late because of major roads travelling through Germany. when we arrived there was a note with a key on top of it with directions to a flat/apartment round the corner to the hotel but know one from the hotel to help us. the accommodation was ok, good size and clean. the problem I have with the hotel is the man doing the breakfast the next morning. they had tables reserved but none for my family of 4 so he just put 2 tables together and walked away and every time I asked for tea and coffee and they had run out of orange juice he just looked at me as if he didn't understand which made it worse because my wife is Danish and she was asking him too, there were others complaining about the same thing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean confortable very good bed. Hotel employees very kind. All perfect
Benniksgaard Hotel - Gråsten - Building

Overview Reviews
Located in Grasten, Benniksgaard Hotel is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Rinkenaes Church and Grasten Palace. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good, just as we expected, the service in the breakfast restaurant exceeded all expectations in general the staff was friendly, helpful and inviting - they made us feel welcome and wanting us to come back. Excellent service
Cons: The water in the shower was cold the first evening, and the television reception was poor.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Had all we needed after a 12 hour journey but nothing extraordinary. Room was very basic.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to an apartment. This had a Jacuzzi, sauna, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, lounge and own parking. Very comfortable and very nice. Very friendly staff and good breakfast.
Cons: Restaurant was stretched that night - should have been better.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Not recommended. Too expensive/low quality/low value/incorrect information on booking.com. On business trip, I am Danish and booked 3 rooms for my 2 foreign colleagues and myself at DKK 999 each. The Annex was an old school some 100 m away. Difficult to find the rooms (why do you not give your guests a map)? DKK 999 for a room in the Annex is way too expensive. Breakfast: cheap rolls (mainly air), cheap jam, muesli from Aldi or Lidl, and so on - nothing good about that. Why does Booking.com write "very good breakfast"?
6.8 Good
Cons: The receptionist did not make you feel welcome. Bad start to a very nice hotel
5.0 Okay
Pros: People we met were nice but most were in tour groups. When we decided after first night to cancel rest of our stay the hotel reception and booking.com were most helpful.
Cons: Restaurant and Breakfast were very full. Not what we expected from the web site.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fabulous 2 bedroom family apartment which was clean with comfortable beds and very well equipped with a great view too. Breakfast was outstanding, all self service but large choice of excellent quality. Had a lovely (but expensive) evening meal in the cosy restaurant with very kind and friendly staff, especially our waiter who I think was called Kevin. Nice to sample classic Danish dishes. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly too. We really enjoyed our two night stay and would happily return and recommend to others.
Cons: The charge made for paying by a non Danish credit or debit card like Mastercard. We had to go out over several days to get enough cash to avoid this which was frustrating. No other Danish hotel during our fortnight stay made an extra charge for using a credit card.
7.0 Good
Pros: A pleasant semi-rural location with comfy rooms and good food. Plenty of parking space.
Cons: DO NOT COME HERE ON A MOTORCYCLE! The car park consists of deep pea-gravel and was a nightmare to get and then park the bikes on. It could easily end in tears here. You may end up in a room in the 'Annexe'. This is on the side of the road and is a 300 metre walk each way from the main hotel/resraurant etc. We arrived at 5.30pm and couldn't get a restaurant table until 8.30! Luckily an different member advised us that there'd be a buffet on from 6.30pm, which was a good buffet as it turned out. If you plan to eat in the restaurant, book ahead!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bathroom great Room Kettle had very short lead complete rework of room tea/coffee required. Otherwise Great Hotel
Cons: See above

7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel
Cons: There was not frigde in the room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, see view rooms are perfect.
Cons: Getting old.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with view of the fjord. Close to the harbour and boardwalk. Lots of parking. Friendly staff.
Cons: A balcony would have been nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great area and rooms with a fantastic view, few steps from city center and beach
Cons: To small glasses to drink at breakfast, missing cappuccino, value for money.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well placed in Sønderborg. Only a few minutes away from harbor promenade and town center. Parking is free. Nice breakfast. Pleasant staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast: fabulous Scandinavian style - home made white and rye bread, and protein bar were delicious Loved the choices to sprinkle onto my probiotic fruit yogurt. Wonderful choice of Danish pastries. Individual portions of scrambled egg was in a small glass container - delicious.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast and location were fine - no issues, but I still believe for the location the cost was too high. In a town like Sonderborg it just does not make sense to pay 200 EUR per night. But since I had to come for business and other options were no longer available I booked at this price.
7.5 Good
Pros: Ease of reservation, rooms.
Cons: There was no moisture lotion, no complimentary water, No Minibar
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, nice view, friendly staff, interesting breakfast. Surprised by offered vitamins and ginger shots, perfect!:) And variety of cheese, loved it. Seaside is close, center is close, everything just perfect. Loved the colours in room, light and bright.
Cons: The bed was little bit too short for my 181 :D Also hoped to find a pen in a room because forgot to take mine:)) breakfast variety for hot food could be better.
6.0 Good
Pros: So close to the city centre as it gets. Bathtub
Cons: We were not allowed to take our dogs. According to the staff it had been allowed prevously/ a couple a years ago. Single beds and not a double. Rooms a little too basic...Good for overnight stay, but no cosy..Too few tv programs
5.0 Okay
Pros: nice location, clean room,
Cons: The lift is really small, the carpet-like wall paper makes it even worse. Some staff are very nice and friendly, but one lady at front desk was not.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff helpful, goodhumoured.
4.4 Okay
Pros: Proximity to nearby restaurants and local amenities, large bedroom.
Cons: Shower in serious need of upgrade, rest of the bedroom fine. Breakfast not particularly appetizing. Reception staff useless and rude. Asked for a taxi for 8.30am. This never came - it later appeared that it likely was never ordered in the first place. However, my colleague (who ordered the taxi) was called at 18.30 at 6.30am the next day to tell him a taxi was there, which we never asked for (probably the one that never turned up). When checking out, the receptionist didn't apply the booking.com discounted rate, but the normal rate. When I showed her the reservation, she made no apologies, but clearly appeared annoyed, probably because she had to cancel the invoice and redo it all over again.
6.0 Good
Pros: Nice hotel on a beautifull location at the coast. On walking distance from the citycenter. Nice large room with all comfort. Good breakfast and restaurant.
Cons: limit choice on tv channels.
4.6 Okay
Pros: This hotel has only one reason for being in business is that it is centrally located, and lack of alternatives. Although they have nice breakfast buffet/ room the generally is overpriced and rated.
Cons: Room furnished like another bad American motel. My room was placed above the delivery, and therefore very noisy in the morning. Other rooms has view of the see. My bed was not prepared for the second night. Not a four star worthy.
5.2 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and having been to Sonderborg previously I knew what to expect. Staff are helpfull and the breakfast is good. A room with a seaview is definitely the preffered choice.
Cons: The hotel is looking a little tired (most notably the rooms) and some modernization would be welcome.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: The location by the sea is great, right next to the hike & bike trail.
Cons: The hotel is worn-out and does not meet the standards of a four-star hotel by way of amenities. The sauna & swimming pool are old, the breakfast is skimpy, and the overall ambience is 70s-like.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and the property has a uniquely relaxed atmosphere. The house is very creatively designed with many quirky little details. Breakfast is very good. Overall it felt welcoming and homey. We did not mind sharing bathrooms at all in this location as our stay was rather short. Next time we'll stay longer to enjoy the beautiful garden!

Hotel Sønderborg Garni - Sønderborg - Building
12
8.1 Excellent (47 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. Town center, beach, bars and restaurants are in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was sufficient and tasty.
Cons: We enjoyed everything. There is an amusement park nearby. It may cause troubles if you are a light sleeper. No lift is available (if it matters). The breakfast room is quite small. If there are many guests in the hote., you may have to wait
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast friendly staff. Short walk to the town centre for restaurants, harbour and slot also a short walk. Good sized room.
Cons: If I was picky I'd say room a little tired, could do with a bit of redecoration, But it was actually fine, clean and spacious.
7.5 Good
Pros: Yes, the floorboards squeaked, it was oldish and faintly musty but it certainly had charm and was fitted out reasonably well. The breakfast was satisfactory without being spectacular but the breakfast room views were brilliant. The location was excellent being about 10 minutes walk from the town centre in one direction and the same time but opposite direction to the waterfront. Overall, a very peaceful place to stay. I chose it for its position and the fact it was available.
Cons: Unfortunately it is a pity some of the charm did not rub off on to the manager/owner who was a bit abrupt and rude, although all other staff were extremely pleasant. Also it was slightly more expensive than similar hotels I stayed in.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very small room, but satisfactory.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nicely situated in a quiet street, very near to the shore, and in easy reach of the castle and town centre. Old-fashioned hotel with plenty of visible character. Good wide-ranging and tasty breakfast buffet. Friendly staff
Cons: Room was very small and slightly cold; bed narrow. Shower was especially cramped, as was bathroom in general. For the price I would have expected something slightly cosier and more sizeable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very serviceminded staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful and friendly. Comfortable food and nice breakfast. Very convenient for an event at the idrætshøjskole in friheds alle.
Cons: Some mix up with the soft boiled eggs -they were raw!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Frendly litle Hotel, great stay
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good. Nice view from breakfast area.
Cons: The picture shown when booking gave a wrong image of the room and view. The room was in the basement with no view.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable Breakfast was delicious Curtains were great as they made room dark
Cons: I had to spend money on my phone plan to call for entrance to hotel in middle Of day. No reception on Sunday. Key left in envelope I prefer a person to be at desk especially for first visit Hotel a bit difficult to find. Not a pretty location
5.5 Okay
Cons: I think my room wasn't clean enough, some lamps weren't worked. I also didn't feel very welcome...
7.0 Good
Pros: Free water every day
Cons: Reception closes at 18:00 and no staff are available
3.0 Mediocre

3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Not clean bed, no one at front desk. No effort to resolve or compensate when informed. Poor breakfast, a bit of effort but poor... go visit other hotels and see.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Danhostel Flensborg Fjord in Grasten, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Flensburg Fjord and Benniksgaard Golf Course. This hostel has 3 meeting rooms available for events.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Price, rensponsivness of stuff
Cons: Reception is far away from the actual rooms; whole hostel was empty and open; and lights didn’t work for the first night
6.8 Good
Cons: When I checked in the room smells bad Cigarettes
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Lot of traffic at the breakfast. Too less tables available.
7.5 Good
Cons: Pet payments during my booking No you have to pay at arrival. That's it No that's it. I do not have more sentence. Very annoying I do give reply why do I need to write 3 sentence
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Kitchen was well supplied and clean. Place was very quiet, although probably not the busiest time of year. There was a bike shed where I was able to keep my bicycle.
Cons: Breakfast was not available, although it was at a nearby hotel apparently affiliated with the hostel. However, it was rather expensive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: For a hostel, this is high quality accommodation. I had a room with private bathroom for 9 nights. Bedroom was furnished simply but comfortably. En-suite shower room was modern and very new - excellent. Reception staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful - a good experience. Visitors wishing to prepare their own meals use a very large kitchen on the ground floor, with many ovens and refrigerators - an excellent facility but a long way from my room on the top floor at the other end of the building. Check-in is at the Benniksgaard Hotel, about 400 metres away on the other side of the road. Breakfast can be taken in the hotel restaurant. The self-service breakfast buffet is at hotel prices (DKr 125) but is excellent with a huge selection. Also, a lunch packet can be ordered for DKr 65 - with breakfast, that is enough for the whole day! This would be my first choice for staying again in the district.
Cons: Information on the Booking.com website was confusing. All check-in is at the hotel. When the hotel's reception desk is closed, room keys for reserved rooms will be found waiting in the hotel reception area. I wasted a lot of time hunting around the hostel looking for reception and/or the keys.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High standard for just being a “Hostel”. I was surprised after visiting another Danhostel because this Hotel is really adorable

6.8 Good
Cons: it's an old hotel
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Was woken with excessive building noise which continued to 2 am. Repairs to hot water system. No explanation nor any offer of reduced rate due to this problem. Staff unhelpful, night portor more interested in where of how to park your car.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were generally friendly. Hotel grounds were kept well and the hotel was clean and tidy
Cons: Restaurant is far too small to cater for the size of the hotel. Strongly advise booking a table well in advance. Not the most efficiently run restaurant I've been to which exacerbates the lack of tables issue. I arrived back from work at 7pm and was told to return to the restaurant after 8pm when there may be a table free. It seems they only book for 1 sitting. Needless to say there wasn't. After first sitting tables are allocated on first come first served. Note that it is closed on Sundays. In common with Scandic hotels there is limited space in the room for clothes storage. If you are staying for a week you will find the lack of space a challenge.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast variety
Cons: Tiny short pillow - very silly. Not only difficult to sleep on it but impossible to use to prop oneself up to watch TV etc. Why not have extra larger pillows available?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: worn out sheets and bed
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, easy to find. Has all that’s needed on a short stay
Cons: Noisy cleaning staff in the corridor between 7 and 8 in the morning. Occasional bad smell from the drains in the bathroom.

Pros: Everything was as expected
Cons: WiFi connection issues - a bit pricey
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: Needed extra pillows.
8.0 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: For us was the location key. We needed a bed for a couple of hours before getting onto the ferry. Fynshav ferry port so close by was great. We also had our pet bunny travelling with us - so she was welcome too. Easy access and key collection during middle of the night and communication with the host was also great. Very friendly lady who also left us breakfast in the fridge, however - it was to early for us to have breakfast before we left.
Cons: It is a great location for short stays. I wouldn't want to stay there long-term as the studio was very dated and unfortunately we had two single beds instead of a double which we were aware of when booking the property. However, on this occasion - for one night - it was fine for us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm and good dog walking
Cons: Needed external paint

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cozy place. Perfect for two. Very well equipped. Clean, freshly renovated. Surroundings is beautiful. Very close to the sea. Highly recommend.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: You are getting a whole studio, not just a room which is great if you like to cook whilst you are away or just have a lot of space. It's located in a very quiet area where you can only get by car(I assume) and at night it's very very very quiet. The host speaks little english, but just enough for what we needed. There is an extra fee for bed linen which I did see being mentioned on booking and I didn't mind to pay as the price seemed fair. You can't pay by card at the property but the host was nice enough to accept euros as we didn't have any of the local currency. On the plus side they also accept pets which we did not have with us now, but we always appreciate the possibility of bringing our dog along.
Cons: Probably the cleanliness could be improved, but considering what you get for your money it was ok.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: For this price excellent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy beds!! Everything you need in the kitchen - even a dish washer.
Cons: A lightbulb missing in bedside light. Spider webs in bathroom.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of outdoor garden space
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Vollerup Danhostel consists of several pavillons on one side of the road, and a typical ancient Danish country wooden house on the other which, in itself, is worth spending a night there. Excellent breakfast. Very amiable manager. The village of Vollerup has not much to offer, but Sønderborg proper, its surroundings (Dybbøl Mølle for example) and all the coast line are all worth a stay. A place I've earmarked for a possible future stay in Sønderjylland.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Nice staff. Clean room. Can also be a nice place for children in summer (animals and games).
Cons: You have to clean your room yourself or you have to pay a contribution, the breakfast is not included in the price, the wifi (internet) is not free and you have to pay more if you pay with your credit card (visa). At the end, the total amount is the same for an hotel. It was my first and last time in an hostel.

6.8 Good
Cons: Bathroom and matresses needed an upgrade
5.8 Okay
Pros: Coffee automat: Cheap, hot and delight chocolate. Newspapers of the days in the lounge. Retro building.
Cons: No staff at all for the first 15 minutes. A note told us to go to the dining room - it was all empty. We paid for towels and sheets for the beds - the staff forgot to hand it over to us, and we had to remind them. The doors, window, closets etc. are really well-made, but the time has not been good to the wood: The bathroom door was thick from years of moisture, the window has lost some of the wood - all together the building looks as a old, tired and worn-out person.
