Was uncertain from previous reviews what sort of reception to expect - rude, ignored, quirky? In fact I found Mr & Mrs Silver characterful and personable and they added greatly to the stay. I was there for a business meeting all day and arrived for a meal for 13 the previous night, staying overnight. Room clean. The evening meal and lunch were excellent (cooked by a professional chef) and the beer was first class - Mr Silver knows how to keep his ale. They do Rev James (Brains), which I have not previously rated particularly, but here was a truly enjoyable pint. They also have two Wyvern brewery ales, which I didn't try. They have a local cider, Robertsons, made around 14 miles away, which was so good I switched from the Rev James! Decor is alright, a bit tired but fine.
Friendly staff, interesting to talk to; pleasant room; clean and light, pleasant lounge bar strong cooking smell from 7 am
Being allowed to take the dog! Noisy yobs outside in the high street till all hours!
Apleasant place to go. I went back 3 days later!
I have visited the hotel frequently but never stayed before. I was very impressed with all services provided None
Quaint crooked rooms, hotel managers were characters......you did evertthing they said exactly when they told you too!
staff friendly and informative.
Business took me to Bromyard five times in September and October and each time I stayed at The Falcon. Every stay was excellent. The staff were friendly, rooms comfortable and food excellent. I found it an ideal place to relax after a busy day. There was nothing I didn't like
The evening meal was very tasty but expensive. The bedroom floor sloped and the bed was uncomfortable.
Comfortable, in a lovely room. Room was a little warm.
room service annexe not in keeping with main hotel appearance
convenient central location As usual poorest rooms for single occupancy - at the end of the hotel, no view and over ;ooking the road passed and into the car park. Circuitous route to room and no assistance with luggage
postion to town was good. not very friendly staff. stayed in newly refurbished room but no lock on bathroom door and front door rattled.
Value for money - clean room and good breakfast The heating levels in all rooms were set too high for us
I liked the location and the quietness. Had a lot of problems with the water...hot and cold did not work well. A lot of air in the lines caused the water to go on and off during a shower. I do not have any complaints per say, just a problem with the hot/cold water. I still liked the hotel.
beautiful hotel well furnished. no
Helpful staff. Evening meal and breakfast both very good. Very comfy bed.Room clean. Perfect location for my business trip.
old fashioned style, very good breakfast, generally good value long walk to the car park
Nothing in perticular but was not impressed. Location, was given the impression that it was surrouned by coutryside but was in the middle of the town. The Dinner was very poor. Over cooked vegitables, watery coliflower with no taste, I have erased the rest from my mind, thank goodness.
the location of the Abbey is just perfect, be at the centre of the town. the hotel is clean and nice as good as the staffs. anyway i stayed at a wing of the abbey that doesn't have an elevator. it's rather difficult to move with a big luggage.
very good service ? very good breakfast . very clean and comfatable rooms
location rather too noisy at times in comunal areas and during night due to large party bookings
We booked a Superior Double room and the e-mail confirmation stated that we had a double room with balcony. However, on arrival we were told that Superior Doubles do not come with a balcony. I was disappointed with this but when we opened the room door we were pleasantly surprised to find a four poster bed within which we were very happy with! The room was very comfortable and the shower was very powerful but enjoyable. I had read reviews prior to our stay and a lot of them mentioned the street noise if staying in one of the front facing rooms. I have to say it was very noisy on the Saturday night we stayed but nothing a pair of ear plugs didn't block out!! I would also comment on the heating within the room, one wall mounted electric heater is not really sufficient however a portable one was also made available to us which improved the situation.
Size of the bed!
Friendy & helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Excellent gym & pool.
We were very comfortable at the hotel and the room was lovely and warm after a very cold shopping trip. We used the gym and pool area and the breakfast was very nice. The pool area needed ventilation and the walls were quite thin in the room , we could hear people in nearby rooms and creaky floorboards .
Yes, the room I was given was designed for a person with special needs. The wash basin was very very small so no where to put wash accessories, the loo was cramped in one corner and to close to the wash basin. Overall, for what I paid I considered bad value for money.
Staff were very helpful and courteous. Although the parking is limited, we had no problem; there were plenty of spaces. No
First class hotel with excellent rooms and helpful staff. The only thing I can complain about is why I was asked for my credit card three times as I thought this was all sorted out when I booked the room over the internet.
All services were excellent and the staff most helpful
Very welcoming. The room was clean and attractive and the bathroom facilities pristine. Breakfast delicious.
Superb service, comfort and facilities.
The room was extremly comfortable, very clean, quiet and large with plenty of storage space. a lovely comfortable bed, soft towels and every thing you needed such as hairdryer, iron and board, tv and dvd player. The Hosts where very friendly and welcoming. Loved the Large upc Sash Windows. Nothing to dislike
The style of the hotel. The perfect cleanliness. The helpful and friendly staff. The porridge! A really excellent place. No.
it is not a hotel it is a B&B, but a very good one.
This B&B is a gem. A beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. The facilities are top notch.
Very relaxed, friendly hosts, excellent breakfast.
Room, cleanliness, breakfast, hosts, selection of local produce in mini bar, in fact absolutely everything
The excellent breakfasts. Not applicable
Very clean and very friendly staff. Room and breakfast excellent. All of it!
Staff were helpful, hotel clean, enjoyable spa and pool which merged with outside. Ddin't eat there but menu looked good. Overall good value for money. Book early for treatments on week-ends as wasn't able to have tretment of choice due to short notice.
The hotel in general was very clean and comfortable and the location was very close to the business venue I was visiting The location would not suit some being situated on a business park. The car park though adequate only had a temporary surface which detracted from the external appearance.
Staff try their best to be helpful, the sensation of being in a steaming pool while its zero degrees outside is quite cool, prices are reasonable and the food is good. Room windows dont open so it can get a little stuffy and the arcon makes noise, spa facilities other than the pool are fairly basic.
The Spa is a wonderful, calm and comfortable area. Plenty of comfy seating and papers to read. The breakfast was delicious. Staff were cheery and polite always.
Wonderful No bad points at all, a first
The facilities meant we could relax and they weren't too busy The fact that all treatments were fully booked
The facilities were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay at Malvern Spa. Nothing
Excellent lesiure facilities - very helpful pleasant staff- good restaurant
Not necessarily bad points; just think you would like to know. I ordered two newspapers that weren't received. We had two drinks in the bar. We were not asked for our room number or payment, and there was no-one to offer to when we finished. I raised it in order to pay when checking out - as there was no document I was told there was no charge. Very nice for me but I hope your hotel does well and stays in business.
That we wasnt staying in the hotel itself.
Friendly and helpful staff Evening meal was atrocious - I asked for a well done gammon steak, but it came back undercooked and stringy. The mushrooms were "swimming" in grease. However, the receptionist deducted £10.00 from my bill.
A comfortable garden room with personalised parking and the usual facilities. TV had only four channels
the food in the restuarant was very good The noise made by other guests during the second night of our stay
Staff very helpful -convenient to HerefordClean and comfortable room Had room service no issues
Ease of acess to the city would have preferred to have been in the main hotel rather than a garden room, the bath in our room needed replacing although using a bath mat for a shower to a certain extent negated this.
location, price. bathroom grubby needs a facelift, food very expensive burger £9.50 !!!!,tv only has 5 channels, room cold even with heating on.
Rooms badly in need of refurbishment
the location of the hotel.
everything, especially the extra touches - bottled water, hot chocolate, homemade biscuits, additional toiletries etc
The whole experience. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The staff and food were excellent and the rooms were furnished to the highest standard It would be very hard to find any fault with this hotel!
clean hotel, quiet location, good cooked breakfast i did read the reviews of this hotel and the only negative thing was the bed, which proved to be correct, the bed in room 5 was rock hard with no give giving two night uncomfortable sleep,i did report this on deaparture
The room was nice and facilities were great.
Staff No video / DVD
Lovely staff and the sausages at breakfast were yummy. Bed a tiny bit hard
My husband and I were most impressed with the hotel and thought that the service, food and freindiness of the staff were excellent. This was our second stay at the hotel and would safely recommend the hotel to anyone considering a stay. Absolutely none all expectations were met and exceeded.
Good facilities, including use of leisure centre
The bed was just not comfortable.
Good wine list. Efficient staff in bedrooms and on reception. Grounds / location excellent Food was good but why not leave vegetable dish on table.
On a very cold weekend it was really warm inside. The staff were very friendly. The bathroom needed a bit of a re-vamp
breakfast was cold and disorganised
It was practical No
It was close to the town. The room was immaculate, spotless. Breakfast was good too. The room was lovely & warm too. Nothing really. We had a noisy lady in the next room but that wasn't the owners fault. Also, we had no water Sunday but our room was at the end of the terrace and it had been about minus 8 so we didn't mind.
Room & location. We were house hunting - not in your list above Not able to enter hotel during normal business hours, manager collecting her child from college
Room was very comfortable, bathroom looked brand new. Very good breakfast.Excellent value. Nothing
Very welcoming staff. Close to town centre.
Cleanliness of room/hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Staff helpful.
the room we had was very large, and all needed facilities were in the room. no
friendly staff, good food, comfortable stay longer walking distance from town centre than expected
weather was cold, and the alerta was lovely and warm, really clean room. none
It was nice and warm and we could see their family fireworks display through the window, and we liked the family atmosphere We stayed in the ground-floor room No 7 and doors were banging a lot from about 6 am.
It was a charming piece of at time gone by The mattresses were awfull as were the beds
Room was large and bed comfortable On arrival they could not find my booking although I had my email confirmation with me and they provided a room. However no heating working on one of the coldest nights of the season. Food was plentiful and cheap, but not good. Dining room service no existent.
very traditional surroundings The creaky floors above our room woke us up early
3 rooms booked 2 of which were nice and warm. Pleasant furnishings and public areas Poor reception service. Particularly unhelpful regarding heating in 1 of our rooms. Slow service at reception and cold in public areas and bathrooms in rooms.
This was our 4th or 5th stay at the Green Dragon and was, as aways, excellent. Pleasant service, very comfortable room (squeaking floorboards a bonus). A lovely hotel, somewhat faded grandeur but full of character. Would not choose to stay anywhere else on our visits to Hereford.
We liked the location in the centre of town. It was lovely to be able to sit next to a fire when the weather was so cold. The staff were nice and helpful.
Tired and old fashioned. Overdue for a re-vamp.
The beds were confortable. The hotel was well placed for places in Hereford that we wished to visit. There was secure parking available. a) the floorboards need attention! b) the food was mediocre I have alread sent my comments to the Manager of the hotel in writing
Bar closed too early.
Not alot. The price was good for town centre. I was very disappointed - very cold room - very cold bed a miserable night - hated it. Something wrong with milk / coffee in the room. The hotel is very dated and shabby.
