the pool and spa facilities were very good I would have liked to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Also the coffee at breakfast tasted like cheap instant - not a good start to the day.
Adequate with comfortable bed and pretty sea view from room. The bedrooms, and corridors leading to them, now look tired and overdue for re-furbishment. It would appear that much money and effort has been spent upon the excellent swimming and spa facilities, sadly leaving the bedroom accommodation far behind with facilities fixtures and fittings needing urgent replacement. Also, entry to Spa costs an additional £15 sterling per person.
Looks good from outside! Room standard below average
We needed to catch the ferry to Norway early in the morning so we can late and left early. The hotel was suitable for our use. Would have been nice with an early bird breakfast.
It was filthy, noisy, and was charged extra for using my credit card. Would never recommend this to anyone!!
Short drive from Hirtshals. Ok place to spend the night.
Central in town. close to pubs, restaurants and shops.
Staff very helpfull Very dirty rooms, very dirty furniture and very old, tailes missing in bathroom, it is a shame to call that palce a Hotel , we had booked 2 rooms and both rooms are in very bad conditions
The staff was very pleasant and the windows had good sound proofing. Lacked curtains to keep out the midsummer early morning sun. Bathroom needs remodelling. Really poor extra bed for our child. Breakfast could have been better.
Good parking Uninterested staff, poor breakfast
Car Park on site. Room was very 'tired'. Lightbulbs not all working. Level of maintenance poor. Floorboards very creaky. Bathroom very tired / no soap/shampoo / poor fittings / placement of fittings. Very dark. Airless room. Noisy situation - all night party in the building across the street, still in full swing when we left at 05:45 the next morning.
The rooms are getting worn and matresses are old and smelly. Food is O\K except for a very poor breakfast buffet. Improve breakfast!
Staff were very helpful, given the unfortunate booking error-seebelow The hotel was fine ,but our booking for the 28 July had not been recorded-we had the confirmation. The staff went to great trouble to find an alternative, and were eventually successful. Whose error? Yours or the hotel? I should like to have an explanation.
It is difficult for me to rate this Hotel. On arrival there was no-one there at all. I found my way in to the building, but could not access reception. It appears they had left a note for me on the door in danish - despite me having e-mailed them 3 times before my stay in English, and the fact they had a uk address for me.
Staff when you could find them were extremely friendly and helpful. Food excellent, simple but very tasty. Room facilities - no iron/ironing board and no hairdryer - I would expect this in any hotel regardless of price and the hotel bar was only open one night in the week. Also impossible to use usual bank cards to pay.
The countryside location was very calming, and only 15 minutes to Aalborg. It was also wheelchair accessable. It is not a fancy place and the restaurant was extremely slow.
Breakfast included in price Room warm. No air conditioning. Needed to leave window open. Noise all night kept my family awake (both people, I presume returning from late night drinking and traffic, especially 1 or more scooters.
Finding out my account had not been debited when I made the booking. So had to pay on checking out
Good, fullsize beds in the family room. The closure late in the evening, so late arrival requires specific agreements.
Nice stab. Nice breakfast.
Restaurant closed very early
Good size room, owner very welcoming. Shower only, rooms need 'refreshing' soon.
Very over-priced. One member of staff very pleasant but others off-hand. They really didn't care about their guests. In the evening we sat in the restaurant for ages and I had to go and find the single waiter to serve us. Breakfast was very poor. I had to go and find someone to ask for teabags.
Breakfast good Reception not friendly, rooms smelled of smoke, children looking in room window, only hotel in town so no competition
Cleanliness was an advantage. But probably the only one. Possibly also the atmosphere of an academic dorm, if one misses it - but the price is not student's at all. Yes. Most important ones: 1) There was no heating in the room. And - what is important - we were there in November. I asked the staff about that and they turned the heating on for about 20 minutes. Then they just turned it off intentionally (!). Unbelievable. 2) There was no hot water, it was hardly tepid - it is not fair even in hostel conditions. 3) it was very expensive as for conditions offered. By the way, the price which is given on booking.com site is not the real one. There is an "important information" below the pricelist that the rates are only for regular clients, but... Is an avarege booking.com-user an owner of a danhostel card? So why not give the actual price at once?
Don't expect much going on during a Sunday
Very clean place. It seems like a school / spa / gym / hostel kind of place, but very spacious and organised. If your not a member you pay a bit extra.
Very nice Denisch concept to combine a sporthal and a youghthostel. And I had (it was winter and -10C) a whole hostel for myself! Some chambres, and the one they gave me, had no heater standby so was rather cold, but because there was nobody I changed to an other empy, but very nice warm room! Locasion was assom, close to the cost. Very friendly pleople. The website said check in till 22.00 but the office was closed ad 21.30. Luckely there was a phone number and a man arived and was helpfull. Another thing was he could find the booking.com booking. there were places enough, but what wenn there is not? Maybe phone first.
