I love this hotel! Next trip Im back! Nothing...
Close to motorway. Good for one night on our way to Italy. Free parking for car. Clean rooms with good beds. Limited choice of meals in restaurant. Very basic. Breakfast very simple. When almost all guests have had their breakfast the waiter started to refill empty plates. All in all price/quality ratio for hotel + meals was too high. Can easily be changed and improved.
The friendly and professional approach of the hotel staff. It made it pleasure to stay at the hotel. It is a hotel we frequently stay at when travelllng between England and Italy and have never been disappointed. The fact that the hotel menu did not seem to include organic or free range food.
Easy access from the motorway. No character, no atmosphere, very much a quick overnight stopover, up&away place.
Beautiful location with mountains surrounding the village that the hotel was located in. Limited breakfast.
wellness area Poor breakfast, Italian speaking staff mainly, no TV, radio in the room, hotel far from everything
Great service, great views, and some of the best food we've ever had! After an epic day cycling through some high passes in freezing blizzards, this guest house was a godsend. Seriously, the restaurant was superb with great views of the mountains, and subtle flavours that are difficult to find these days. Delicious! We took the spa room, and though it didn't have a view it was clean and comfortable with a nice big jacuzzi that wasn't too noisy in its operation, and very soothing on our tired legs. The buffet breakfast was a simple continental affair with several types of bread, cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese, and boiled eggs. All in all a beautiful little guest house with the restaurant being the highlight.
The service at the hotel is excellent. The room was small but comfortable with an amazing view of the mountains. The breakfast could be better, the selection was extremely limited.
Everything! The staff was wonderful. Our room was perfect. For a weekend getaway, away from everything hectic, this place is perfect. And the restaurant has amazing food! Can't think of anything!
To sleep for one night
Hotel is sited in beautiful mountainous area, Room with jaccusi was good although there were 3 flights of stairs to climb with no lift to transport heavy cases. Room had one small window with no view. Restaurant was disorganised staff forgetting our drinks with the meal. We felt the Italian food was expensive here; Breakfast was no different.
We have stayed here twice now, en route to Italy. The hotel is not far from the motorway but feels remote in a pretty mountain village. The staff are always charming and anxious to please.
The quality of the food at dinner and that's it. Poor breakfast. Poor wellness facilities. Only 2 staff, one of which only speaks Italian and is not very friendly. Too expensive for the location (far from everything) and the quality of the rooms.
The Chalet is unbelievably gorgeous, set in the most beautiful surroundings with very helpful friendly staff, delicious food (even as a vegetarian!) we absolutely loved it and are trying to think of an excuse to go back! The bedroom was a bit disappointing in that the 'double' was a twin and the standard was really that of a european travel lodge. We were in a 'silver' room which didn't seem particularly nice. We were obviously paying for the setting rather than the room.
Easy access to the highway. Not much choice for breakfast.
Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable, good breakfast, convenient location for travelling
Telephone response to on line booking which was very welcoming
The room was quite nice and the bed comfey the breakfast was mediocre. The view from the room window the absence of heating in the room in the evening
The surroundings, easy access from highway. The pillows!!!
The friendly staff and very clean hotel
We have visited this hotel on a number of occasions and always been very satisfied. Farticular strengths is the high standard cuisine and restaurant service as well as the comfort of the rooms. Above all there always a most friendly welcome.
It was just fair. The location suited our needs as it was close to St. Gotthard's Pass and other areas we were exploring on our motorcycles. The parking for the bikes was ok and that was important. There were few places to eat close by. The hotel food was overly expensive for the setting, area, etc. So, we chose to eat at a pizzeria nearby, which was excellent. The rooms were adequate, but old. Good enough for a one night stay.
Quick clean and efficient. Food very good indeed. Simple car parking opposite. Some train noise. Not your fault.
the managment and the view my laptop cable was eaten by a cat, beds and pillows are poor
Owners are very helpful and willing to make your stay most relaxing
Great little hotel with owners that put their heart and soul into it.
Breakfast, courtesy and cleanliness excellent. The sound of church bells.
Very nice setting I had a problem with my flight and called the hotel to cancel one night, however, was told that they could not process the cancellation as I had booked online. Please verify this?
The location is OK, as well as the service. The hotel is simply too expensive in relation to its comfort. We (2 adults, 2 kids) payed Euro 360 for just one night.
The staff was very nice and tried to make a difference. Extremely expensive. A much better hotel was less expensive in downtown Locarno. We tried to cancell but it was not possible because we had booked with this web site. Very disapointing.
The staff very kind and polite, the quietness, the excellent breakfast and the free wi-fi. The price
The room was large but basic. Very over priced hotel for the services provided !!
Optimal position for a stop-over during long trip. Right services for your money. Too many flies in the breakfast room.
It was adequate no
Very close to train station, but room was not noisy. Large size room and bathroom. Staff have limited or no English
The hotel is in a good location if your traveling to Italy as we were (its right at the southern exit of the gothard tunnel),although no English was spoken it wasnt a problem, the propierters were very friendly.Nice resteraunt and bar. The end fell off the bed when we walked into the room. The breakfast was basic but plentyful
The restaurant was very good for dinner. The beds were very squeaky every time someone rolled over you would be awakened by the squeak.
Efficient service. Good. fairly priced, restaurant and bar.
Ideal travel trough Hotel, located immediatly next to Gothard Tunnel
the family room was huge and the staff were friendly and helpfull. The on site pizza restteraunt served great food
Location bed was hard and uncomfortable
Ideal location at bottom of Gotthard Pass. Directly opposite the station. Hotel was a bit utilitarian and with laminate floors throughout was very noisy. The disco attached to the hotel played loud music that reverberated through the room until 3am. Inconsiderate and noisy guests returning to rooms after the disco kept us awake until 4am.
Large comfortable well designed room. Friendly, helpful staff. Good food.
Nice staff, new equipment, beautiful location Basic breakfest
Everything That I had to leave
Nice little hotel in a very nice valley, quiet, very good meals, very friendly owners Extra charge for credit card payments
Nice location in a small picturesque town. Room with a view to the lake and mountain. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Nice restaurant. Helpful staff. There is no shampoo and soap (you have to ask for it, which can be a problem if it's too late). No bathtub (although there is room for it in the shower area).
I liked the family leading the hotel, very friendly, helpful and nice. no
Very friendly reception, room large, clean and comfortable, excelllent dinner in evening, great breakfast buffet, hotel easy to find and location excellent for exploring the picturesque Verzasca valley. Our room had great views and overlooked the lake and mountains.
exploring local countryside
Beautiful area with good opportunities for walking/hiking. The fact that there was a restaurant (good local kitchen) was also very convenient. The hosts, Yvonne and Marzio, are very enthousiastic people and create a nice atmosphere. No airconditioning, and the hotel is along a very busy road so sleeping with the windows open was not possible. The breakfast was very basic, dry bread, bitter tasting orange juice, and cheese and eggs cost extra.
view to the lake and to the mountains. nice staff.
