It had beautiful design features, the staff and management were excellent and very accommodating. We particularly found the manager very professional and well informed about Best Western.......We also own and run a Best Western on the Canadian West Coast, so we can understand the ups and downs of opening a new facility in town. I was just wondering why the b/w in France do not have a toilet brush in their facilities, we also stayed in one in Paris for four days and the same applies there. Considering that all other facilities do so, we found it strange that they were not supplied. Just a point of interest.
Very nice hotel with small pool. Buffet breakfast was included in the price. Very close to Pont du Gard. About a 15 minute walk to Uzes.
Excellent flexible service - 3 * hotel with a 5* service - warm and helpful - I was with my large enthusiastic 6 month puppy and all the staff were lovely to us - I felt safe, comfortable and welcomed. Very accomodating. I had a good, clean room with a nice bed, tv and very nice bathroom/ seperate wc. Great access all round - thanks to Bernard and the staff there. Superb.(I even arrived late and still got dinner on a tray sent to me.)
Comfortable bedroom, lovely outdoor restaurant terrace, good breakfast buffet, tennis courts, clean environment, plenty of on site car parking Small swimming pool
The staff was very friendly and very efficient. It was a very busy time due to a coach group and the only 2 waiters managed the evening well (but did they run their legs off... ). The dinner was excellent and the breakast was adequat. The rooms are well layout and would be excellent if the cleaning would be improved. When I arrived the floor wasn't hoovered and according to the dust, I dont think it gets ever hoovered and I dont want to know the condition of the mattress...However, bathroom hygiene is more important and this certainly lacked. It needs a desinfecting process as there was mould on the tiles where one could see little animals crawling up and down.... The bathroom furniture gets soaked in water when showering and therefore it falls apart. The towels got changed every day but in different quantities. I would recommend the restaurant and the staff but certainly not the accommodation and I would need to think hard to stay again due to the hygiene.
Good value, comfortable hotels Could do with proper coffee for breakfast
good dinner (not included in room rate)ok breakfast very rude staff, no soap or cups in bathroom, very tiny cramped room
Pleasant, well-appointed 3 star hotel with relaxed atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. Enjoyed eating on shaded terrace adjoining swimming pool. Free car parking with plenty of spaces.
Hotel was clean and bright. Small pool area with plenty of tables and chairs. Rooms very clean and had everything we needed. Ate in restaurant and food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly.
The town of Uzes is easily accessible and the rooms were very comfortable. I felt that there should have been tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Good architecture & exterior landscape @ decor. Efficient staff. Gave us the handicap room which was unattractive..ugly bathroom.. bad beds..hard mattresses. Restaurant expensive & food quality was not up to par..Magret de canard was the worst we ever experienced, & the beef filet was poor quality..
You can see that we liked just about everything We really would have enjoyed a choice of cheese/cold meat and a wider range of yoghurts for breakfast - as that would have been far more in keeping with the rest of the exceptional standards/quality offered.
Very pleasant room and view over the village. Bathroom was big and had lots of towels and good quality products. Restaurant closed on Sunday night.
Lovely hotel with well appointed room and bathroom.Dinner well presented on terrace.Locked free car park. Limited choice on Dinner Menus.
Superb position - totally relaxing place to stay with the added bonus of a wonderful chef Staff could have been more helpful getting bags to our room as there is no lift - one actually passed us struggling on the stairs!!
A very cozy & quiet hotel in the upper part of the village , nice furnished Food was just missing that little edge to make it fit the setting and surroundings of this charming hotel. Also I think the staff could be a bit more trained on service ( way wine and plates were served a bit clumsy )
The gourmet meal was delicious and friendly served. Apart from that we hardly saw anybody - staff or owners. After paying the bill nobody said goodbye. Hospitality is something else! As weather was too cold to sit in the garden/terrasse, we missed a lounge area or bar. One could either stay in the room or in the rather cold entrance hall ;-(
Clean and modern in quiet location. Very good room rate. Hotel staff is not present before 8 am or after 8 pm or between noon and 4 pm; we arrived at 2 pm and could not even get in. Staff was friendly but not very helpful. Two gentlemen at check-in offered no help to my wife for her bags even though we were on 2nd floor and no elevator. Breakfast was minimal and over-priced. Location was more remote than we expected; services in town are nil.
Peacefull location.Ideal for visiting Pont du Gard.Lovely room with terrace overlooking the pool 13 Euros for breakfast was very expensive
Panoramic viewwith lovely open air pool, staff friendly and helpful
The setting of the hotel was beautiful and there was a lovely ambience in the grounds. There was insufficient staff. When we returned at 10.0 p.m. at nightgthe hotel was closed down, with no lighting. There was no emergency number to call. When we left in the early morning (7,.15 a.m), againthere were no staff, and we had the greatest difficulty in getting out of the security gates at the front of the hotel. There was a feeling that the owners did not care about their guests at all.
it was great the kids could not belive we were staying here seeing is beliveing great staff great rooms nice and clean no
Very helpful staff, could not do enough for us. Evening meal and service was all very good.
Clean large rooms with a double bed and three singles on a mezzanine. Well furnished and air conditioned. No restaurant for lunch or dinner. Bar service poor, warm beer which ran out and nothing available after 10pm.
Like we did in 2009, we enjoyed our one weeks stay at the hotel this year. Same nice surroundings, staff and owners, want to come back next year.
I booked a family which was good: the children had a loft while the parents sleep downstairs. Value for money was good. Two issues. We tended to run out of hot water. The first to persons to take a shower had a hot shower, the third one got cooler and the the fourth person had a lukewarm shower. Second, the breakfast was charged additional while I thought that was included. Difficult to argue about that as the counter staff only speaks french and I don't. One other issue: the hotel is hard to find even with navigation system. Had to go there using coordinates, not address. However I was prepared for that based on other feedback.
It had a very friendly atmosphere we were made to feel very welcome even though we can not speak any French they where very accommodating
Hotel room was clean and the overall facilities were nice. Not a very scenic location and limited in the choices of decent restaurants.
The rooms were spacious and very clean. No tea and coffee making facilities.
The setting is beautiful and the rooms were of an excellent standard. The service was both friendly and helpful. Although we only did an overnight stop I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Location is just perfect, 30 meters from the boulevard, which encircles the tiny centre of the town. Terrace on the last floor allows to have a breakfast there. In good weather it should be fantastic. The new owners, which apparently just taken over the business are quite nice and helpful. The hotel does not have the heating system, just the air-conditioning. So just be ready that in the off season it will be quite cold in the rooms.
The owner/operator Daniel was particularly helpful to us during our brief stay at his hotel. We had a very nice dinnerl in his restaurant.
An excellent base in Uzes ideally placed for exploring the town and its sights, restaruants and relaxing in the market square. The hotel staff made us very welcome and the room was perfect in every respect.
Our charming, one-of-a-kind room was adjacent to a third floor terrace - a lovely place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine after touring the historic centre ville. The location was just steps away from the shops and restaurants of Uzes. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating - making sure our car was parked safely, getting ice to chill our wine and willing to answer questions about the town. We did not eat at the hotel, but the dining area was bustling and decorated in a very tasteful Provencal style - wish we could have squeezed it in!
Location, size of room, helpful staff The bed had a plastic undersheet, which detracted significantly from the comfort of the bed.
Immaculately clean, impeccable taste in renovation and decoration. Courteous helpful. Beautiful location. Rural location with modern ammenities
This was a delightful hotel. The rooms were spacious, beautifully clean and interesting. The hotel owner was very nice and helpful and the food was superb. would definitely recommend to anyone and will stay again.
Friendly welcome, individually decorated comfortable rooms, in the old town centre, good food. parking could be difficult
The hotel is in the center of Uzès. Great location. Amazingly quiet. Very clean. The decoration and furnishings are original and beautiful. The restaurant is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good bed, spacious room. Modern conveniences. One evening it poured rain and we were very happy to stay in, cosy and warm and well-fed. We had a "whirlpool bath" which was water jets coming out from the side of a normal-size bathtub. I had imagined something more grand. A little note in the room asked us not to use the water jets before 9 a.m. or after 10 p.m. due to noise. So in the end we never used it at all. The garage is a walk away from the hotel and is quite tricky to get in and out of, however we were pleased to have the use of it. The rooftop terrace was not open, even though the weather was good, maybe it is a seasonal offer, our stay was in October.
Its location is superb. Full of charm. The two hosts were fantastic, always happy to oblige. On site restaurant was excellent with best breakfast of our trip. The hotel has a small garage some short distance away - tests one's driving skills to get in and out down the narrow lane but otherwise a great asset. I can highly recommend this place. The room appeared a little cold/damp when we arrived but this was overcome with the air conditioner. Noises from other rooms an issue - it's an older building but nicely done up - however, plumbing noises as well as noises through the floors, despite people being asked to walk quietly.
An outstanding property in all respects.High quality local food and wine.
Poor quality for high price. On the website it looks better, in reality the hotel is not the best place to stay.
Nice and original stylish hotel, nice stuff. Good facilities: pool, parking, very nice view terrace. Nice small village, with ancient atmosphere. Very rafinated restaurant and special wine choice. Good place for wine connaisseur. Though, prices list for a special gastronomic experience.
We took twice the "Wine Surprise Menu" for 75€ (wines and digestif included) and enjoyed two evenings of complete satisfaction. The price may sound high at a first glance, but we found we've got real value for money! There's no lift in the hotel, and there are some stairs to climb from the parking. However, the personnel is utmost friendly and helpful, so this is not really to be considered as a disadvantage.
good view from the terrace, not from the bedroom. The hotel itself was ok but the meals were outrageously priced and not at all good value for money. we ate for half the price at our next hotel and this was twice as good! The breakfast was double what we paid elsewhere and just the same.
a beautiful hotel with excellent renovated rooms in old Pierre. Food was fabulous and excellent wine list. Staff helpful and charming. Nothing
The location - and particularly the terrace restaurant with a fantastic view. Pool lovely but more of a splash pool than a swimming pool. Food overpriced - and a problem for vegetarians/ Menu was the same both nights we were there and we had already eaten every option open to us on the first night. Room had very basic facilities considering the price.
The good place in the middel of the city. They have some problems with the toiletdrain, there was a bad smel from the toiletdrain.
Private parking area.
Friendly and accurate staff.Service at breakfast was very pleasant.Information about sightseeing absolutely fabulous.
Excellent well informed staff. English spoken well. Excellent continental breakfast, highly recommended. We failed to reserve parking, so experience difficulty dropping off our luggage, but plenty of cheap parking nearby.
City centre location insufficient car parking. Lack of lift.
Basic, clean and good value for money. Excellent location in central Ales. Laurent was very helpful and most welcoming!
This was a first class hotel. The manager and manageress were extremely helpful and I am very pleased to have stayed in their friendly, efficiently run hotel. I would reccommend it to anyone.
It was very clean and pleasant. No
Cécile and Laurent were exceptionally helpful and thoughtful. Thanks to them, we really enjoyed our stay in Alès. Late arriving noisy guests !
staff were very friendly and helpful
Very Spacious cold and not enough day light in the room - no view
We were very satisfied by the very friendly and helpful hosts. It is a charming maison with beautiful garden, large luxuous swimming pool that overlooks the beautiful surroundings. We definitely recommend it to everyone!
Outdoor swimming pool. Very basic hotel in the middle of an urban/industrial estate.
Absolutely nothing! Where shall i begin? Advertised an outdoor pool, it's an out of ground plastic bag full of disgusting stagnant water! Advertised air con, none worked! Advertised Wi fi, can't remember exactly where we could pick it up! Food in the 'traditional french' restauranr was awful. My wife sent the Veal back because it was raw and full of gristle. The green beans looked as though they had been cooking for several days. The rooms were tiny with inadequate hanging space for clothes and don't get me started on the bathroom (closet!). All in all the worst place I have ever stayed at. Booked for 5 nights too, my god, we couldn't wait to get into the car after checking out after the first night.Stay away until it is knocked down and another rebuilt!'
Very helpfull and accomadating Nothing
We were extremely impressed by the warm welcome we received at this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble, the room was comfortable and we felt at home almost immediately after we had checked-in. None
Loved the location, cleanlinsess, water pressure in bathroom fantastic. Nicely heated. Restricted options for dinner - this is not the hotel's fault as it was off season
Nice hotel and good quality from the staff
The welcome and help from the staff was excellent. The dinner (a fixed menu) was nicely planned and cooked. The bathrooms were small with only a curtain to the room and the curious half-bath with hand-held shower head was difficult to use.
Every single room has been revamped with new windows and laminate flooring, giving a clean fresh appearance. The owner of the hotel was delightful. The shower was a bit awkward, but the bathroom had been retiled and was acceptable.
Staff was very helpful, good recommendation for restaurants, good wireless internet, good value for money for the basic accomodation. Mount for showerhead would have been nice
Clean and quiet room, a little bit small, but this is not a problem if you are in transit. The breakfast was too poor.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and interested in the welfare of their guests Towels are inadequate
Quite, clean, freindly staff, air conditioner, free parking, free internet Tiny room, tiny shower cabin, tiny towels, no elevator, no wardrobe, tv only in french
breakfast quality was poor, further from town centre than originally thought
Nothing I wouldn't get near that place They write they have Bb cot but they don't when we came we have been told that they have 5 babys so this is why there are not left the morning after we learened that there are no
It is cheap ! The room smell cigarette... the made wake me up at 9:00 entering in the room without knocking at the door.
Peaceful hotel Phone contact before aerrival was difficilt. Needed to phone 5 times before answered
Cheap, convenient The walls are too thin. We were kept awake by noise from adjoining rooms
close to super market. easy to find. restaurant close by. sometimes noisy
