8.3 Excellent
Pros: As always, excellent food. Well appointed bedrooms. Good, secure parking. Very polite, helpful staff.
Cons: Since our last stay (August 2018) the prices seem to have risen quite a bit - the hotel appears to have either changed hands or is part of a new holiday group which is probably why. A shame as we will probably not stay again (only on cost).
8.3 Excellent

7.0 Good
Pros: Convenient location for ferry port. Nice old building. Staff friendly and helpful. Food in 'Restaurant Gastronomique' was OK but lacked the refinement you would expect for the price charged...
Cons: I made a dinner reservation on arrival but their timings seemed to go very awry and I ended up waiting a long time for my order to be taken and thus eating very late - perhaps not enough staff for a quiet sunday evening. As mentioned in positive comments the restaurant food was tasty but lacked the refinement you would expect at the price - which put it into the VERY expensive and poor value category for me. The room was comfortable enough but water for a morning shower was well short of hot. Breakfast - for 20 euros! - was very poor value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful Hotel with excellent staff. Very convenient for A26
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building in lovely gardens, not far from the autoroute
6.3 Good
Pros: The gardens and exterior of the property are amazing. The garden area is exquisite and worth visiting.
Cons: The interior of the property is dated and old. Even though the rooms seemed clean, the furniture is dated and worn out and much of it should be replaced. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been updated in 30 or 40 years. At one point, this was probably an outstanding property, but now it has lost at least 1 of its 4 stars. The restaurants are too expensive for the quality of the food- not recommended.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at this hotel for the second time as its location close to the autoroute is very convenient. The building and grounds are beautiful, the staff was friendly. The hotel is dog-friendly.
Cons: The two rooms were spacious but very old and tired looking (furniture, carpets, beds, design) .

Cons: Location was slightly away from the centre of town, and intially not easy to find.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: You would think that a property entitled ‘Ferme’ would be located in a rural area. It is definitely not!! It is in a fairly run down area. Parking was not secure. This is very important as when using as a stopover the car is full of luggage and therefore vulnerable to theft.

Best Western La Metairie - Gosnay - Bedroom
7
8.5 Excellent (391 reviews)
Overview Reviews
At the Best Western La Metairie, this establishment suggests to you a wide services range at the heart of the Euro region on the motorway road Paris Calais London. A 3 Star hotel, the 40 rooms of Best Western La Metairie suits with practical, comfort and communication equipment. You will be charmed by their own style, on the site three restaurants are suggested, the gourmet restaurant "Le Robert ll", La Distillerie" traditional restaurant, a cozy ambiance and innovating cuisine with "The Vasco". A park of six hectares will please you. Enjoy your stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast in the Castle was excellent. As always the grounds were very pleasant and relaxing. The meals in the La Distillerie were of a very high standard. The upgrade you gave us was very much appreciated.
Cons: The mattress was not as comfortable as we have had previously. It would also be much appreciated, we are sure, by future guests if a comfortable seating area could be arranged in these type of rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most beautiful setting: gorgeous architecture and gardens and really close to the motorway and only 50 mins to Calais. We had one of the rooms in the older part of the hotel in what was possibly a stable and the rooms are really lovely. Plenty of room and character. This time we ate in the Distillerie restaurant and it was lovely and soo much better than the Vasco restaurant last year.
Cons: To get into the shower or bath you have to step over a little wall which is part of the bath and it has the potential to be quite tricky especially for an older person. A handle on the wall would be a good idea especially as the bath surface is quite slippery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, food, location.
Cons: Nothing really.
8.8 Excellent

Cons: The breakfast is pretty simple for €14,-
6.8 Good

6.8 Good

It offers 69 fully-renovated stylish rooms, a bar and a meeting room, with a range of restaurants nearby. It is 4.3 miles (7 km) from the TGV station and close to the Louvre-Lens museum, the Vimy memorial, Ablain St. Nazaire French Military Cemetery and the Lievin stadium.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good .and the rooms allways clean
Cons: Nothingcomfo
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was great with restaurants & fast food close by & the rooms are modern & clean. Breakfast had lots of options.
Cons: We were in room 10, which is in front of the bar & public area so it was extremely loud. The staff did not ask anyone to keep quiet even after complaining so I’m really disappointed as we were kept awake until the early hours as there was teenagers laughing loudly & banging around right outside our door. If you have a bus load of teenagers arrive maybe consider the allocation of rooms a little better next time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money, spacious private parking places, 24-hour reception, great breakfast (I adore the freshly squeezed orange juice made from oranges), clean, comfortable, has a bowling alley and good restaurants nearby, very practical for an overnight stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Clean and roomy
Cons: Was going to have a drink in the bar, but 3 men were watching football on the tv and there were no other seats available, without blocking their view. They were very rude to us - not the staffs fault as they were not there at the time. Position of the tv in the bar area should be rethought. Lost custom because of it.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The WiFI was ok
Cons: The noise. I was in a ground floor room next to the bar where people were making excessive noise until 2am
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfwct.location amd excellent staff
Cons: it was all fab
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were travelling 660 miles. Just needed a room.
Cons: No complaints
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All satisfactory for a single night stay
Cons: On a one night stay all was good
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: This was possibly the worst hotel we have used in France in years. We have travelle this route for over two decades and for the past year or so had used a nearby hotel., We decoded to give this one a try because the breakfast at the previous one was very poor and we were unhappy about the attitude of the staff. This Ibis Style was even worse. The two-person room was far to small and badly designed as well as being poorly maintained. One bedside light did not work and the hand-basin in the minute bathroom did nor drain. The carpets were also badly stained and in need of a clean. Although it adverised that staff spoke English, the girl on reception had less of the language than I had of French - and mine is almost non existant Breakfast was very poor. In all this hotel was not worth €81 when compared with the one used on out outward frim where we paid €56 for a larger, cleaner room and a much better breakfast. Definitely the worst of the eight or nine hotels we have used in the last 12 months

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great location enroute to the port of Calais., (just off the A26). We checked in on a Sun late afternoon, we were concerned about gaining entry but the key code entry was straightforward. Lia was a very helpful host, and recommended a great family run restaurant a few minutes walk from the hotel..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. One of the few places that lets us stay all together in one room (family with four children) and the children's part of the room was very good. Breakfast had some nice choices too. Will definitely remember this place for the future!
Cons: Room was a little bit cold but that could be personal preference as we keep our home quite warm.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location was close to the motorway access point.
Cons: Automated check in very unfriendly. Did not see any staff until check out time.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was like a little haven away from the main road. I liked the way the hotel had created a peaceful garden and were looking after the wild life there. Excellent value and such a nice hotel
6.8 Good
Pros: Easy to find, plenty of free car parking, auto check-in, comfortable bed, quiet, good shower, close to town centre. Was basic.
Cons: Somethings seemed a bit random, room with kettle was open, then later it was locked.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was OK, not too far from town.
Cons: Room was very hot, facing setting sun and the window shutters had been left open. Thought the reception was staffed 24/7, but not the case on weekends it seems.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very handy for the motorway, but in a leafy, fairly quiet location. Reception is friendly, the rooms are more attractive than some similar hotels, the wifi is good, the bed comfortable.
Cons: The only small quibble is the lack of tea-making facilities in the room, but that is not unusual in France.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location for a stop an hour south of Calais. Quiet location too. A big benefit is being able to check in late, with an automated system after 11pm. Left early in the morning & didn’t try breakfast but it was there!
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was cleaned to a high level. Smelt nice. Kids loved their room up above. Lush night sleep didn't want to get up. Just stayed one night on the way back from Disneyland to catch the eurotunnel in the morning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great find for a last minute one night stay. Basic, but fine

With a stay at L'Atrium in Bethune, you'll be 15.7 mi (25.3 km) from Louvre-Lens and 24.6 mi (39.5 km) from Citadel of Lille.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central, clean, efficient entry system, very good breakfast. Advice to others, go for a bigger room the cheap ones have beds only big enough for one! Everything else is good!
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very Central - excellent for our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was fab with a jacuzzi bath and a sauna. The hotel was excellently placed for our activities to commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice.
Cons: The breakfast was a little disappointing because with all the wonderful bakeries in the town, L’Atrium relied on rather mediocre mass produced fair. However the coffee was delicious and there was a good selection of sweet and savoury choices with fruit and yoghurt too.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The buffet breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice of breads & cheese, yoghurts & fruit. Location of hotel also excellent, a 100 metres walk from town square.
Cons: The facilities in our room were not what we had booked. We had booked a comfort double with sauna & jacuzzi but instead we were given an apartment. The apartment was spacious but after a 15km walk one day, we would have preferred the use of the jacuzzi & sauna.

Pros: Really handy for ferry and travelling. Clean, decent facilities and good price. Also has its own parking with no height restrictions.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to auto route
Cons: Hefty price to pay on this occasion
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I now regularly stay here when commuting to / from UK / Switzerland as it is very convenient for Eurotunnel / the A26 into France and beyond. It has recently undergone a bathroom refurbishment. Large shower replacing bath / shower attachment. Decent attached restaurant for evening meal, but I never stay for breakfast preferring to set-off early. On this occasion the staff were excellent.
Cons: I'm a bath person so the switch to showers not to my advantage but that's just me. Otherwise there's nothing to dis-like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location for overnight stop on our journey south. Restaurant open until 10pm with good menu. Very nice breakfast buffet . Clean and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Easy access to road system
Cons: The food was dreadful. My sirloin steak had very little meat on it just gristle. My wife was supposed to get a skewer full of pork but finished up with two very small pieces of pork and a little piece of gammon mostly fat. Entered the restaurant at 8pm and got served at 9.20pm although other customers were served within 15mins. Did tell the waitress who seemed unconcerned also told reception who just shrugged her shoulders. When it came to paying the bill the following morning we told reception again about our disappointing meal (different person) who asked if we wanted a discount we agreed and were given euro2.39 and euro1.48. We just frowned and left! We stopped at a further prebooked Campanile later that day near Bordeaux and this was totally opposite. Staff great both in the evening and the morning food just what we ordered and served in a very reasonable time indeed and enjoyable.

Pros: great hotel overlooking the town square.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff with a great restaurant below and in a great location.
Cons: We’ve stayed in this hotel before and the rooms and bathrooms were amazing. However this time our room was on the top floor and the bathroom was in need of renovation. However we definatly would stay here again!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast outstanding, location excellent Staff really nice. evening food great!
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Cons: No taxi's available (unless you want 30 minutes for one to arrive. So best to plan ahead.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fab location, very comfortable bed, friendly staff, value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: THe Hotel is nicely located in the hard of town directly on the main square. Our room had a gorgeous view on the old bell tower and the typical houses across the square. Room was tidy and spacious enough (compared to Paris hotels). Bathroom was ok and beds are great.
Cons: The night we we're there a DJ was playing on the square. Noise levels were extremely high up to 60db (with windows closed). This resulted in a sleepless night which was very unfortuned since I had to drive for hours the next day.
4.5 Okay
Cons: A formerly elegant city hotel, fallen on hard times. Staff attention is focused on the adjoining bar-restaurant (in a prime location and accordingly busy, but very poorly reviewed). There’s often nobody on the front desk, so checking in or out is a lottery. Rooms are cosmetically tired, and aren’t adequately cleaned; stairways are dirty.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The setting of the hotel.
Cons: No Aircon, No fans, music below our window until 2am the noise until approx 4am. ☹️
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location with good bar and restaurant in town square

6.8 Good
Pros: Room was very spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and very big! Shower hot. Easy to get to from the motorway
Cons: There were no staff in the hotel from 21.30 until 0830. We had to go across a small courtyard to our room which was very scruffy. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Good location for those passing through
Cons: Our room was a bit hot (unusually hot for the season and we couldn't levae the window open because the lights outside our room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great
Cons: Good
5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was nice and clean
Cons: The beds were rock hard. The pillows were rock hard. Bed was uncomfortable. The hotel shook when a train went past. Walls are really thin and you can hear the neighbours opening and closing bathroom doors. The hotel was Barron. There was no one around. It was like a ghost town. No restaurant. There was an unpleasant sewerage smell outside each time we came back to the hotel. We couldn’t have any windows open due to the smell.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and it's rooms is of a very good standard of decor and finish. The staff are very capable and helpful. Given the record temperatures in France during our stay air conditioning would be a major asset to the Hotel. I would have readily paid 10 euros more for the night for an air conditioned room.
Cons: As above, air conditioning.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice decor
Cons: We were in a family room with our 2 year old in the single bed. When she woke in the morning, she had around 20 bed bug bites on her arm and a further 10 on her leg. (Plus one on her cheek.) Reception was shut when we checked out, so we couldn't speak to anyone about it. We emailed the property directly -- no response. We thus emailed their central office -- again, no reply. Very disappointed!
4.5 Okay
Pros: aroma of drains in room, internal window in bathroom
Cons: window in bathroom,no kettle /cups
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It was conveniently located to a couple of decent restaurants.
Cons: This was not a 3 star hotel. It was darky and dingy. The reception was closed when we arrived. 5/6 rooms smelt of sewage. Two of the rooms were supposed to be superior but they were identical to the standard doubles. One of us had to change rooms. Breakfast was mediocre. If we had not been forced to pay on arrival then we would have insisted on a refund.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast with lots of choice. Ideally suited opposite the train station for travellers passing through. Easy walking distance to main square and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very good. It's within a 100 metres of the railway station.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike at all

5.0 Okay
Pros: Quiet place
Cons: Double charge on the room And still the problem unsolved
7.5 Good
Pros: I had a lovely meal in the restaurant area in the evening, it wasn't crowded and I had the full attention of the waiter (who was also the reception guy), nonetheless, it was a very tasty, flavourful meal well presented. Staff were pleasant, helpful and professional.
Cons: Rather expensive for what it was. A basic room.
6.8 Good
Cons: No tea and coffee facilities in room which we found most unusual. Room layout unusual toilet almost in the room not much privacy. Dining room lacked atmosphere we found it quite chilly when having our evening meal a nice fire and abit of background music would have made it so much nicer. Food was very nice and good value for money. General decor of this hotel was lovely.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Left to ones own devices to be let into the property by being left the key to access the hotel as it was their afternoon/evening off. The room was poorly decorated with a shabby chair to sit. The shower/loo was poorly decorated as was the bedroom Not good value for money
Cons: To be welcomed! Better upgrading of room and bathroom
5.8 Okay
Pros: A pretty cheap place to stay. Bed comfortable enough. Shower ok but pipe leaking and drain partially blocked so tray filled with water. Hotel located out of town centre Pleasant and efficient check in and out but staff not especially friendly. Evening meal was ok. Breakfast coffee good, so were the bread and pastries. WiFi was good .
Cons: Room very small and dingy. TV very small. The room was In need of refurbishment. Chair worn and tatty. It was called a Superior room but this seems an odd description as it appears there are no lower categories of room in this hotel and ours was certainly not in any sense superior to anything I can think of.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I only used the hotel as a stop over on a long journey. The receptionist was very friendly and gave me directions in English when I couldn’t find the hotel. We were allocated a disabled room as one of our party is disabled. The second room was opposite. Both rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very simple, very basic, no-thrills but a very clean and well presented hotel. It was a cosy room with a table, armchair and a tidy bathroom with towels and toiletries provided. I was there from 9pm to 6am so I missed breakfast but I was told about it at reception if I would like it.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quaint place to stay and the staff were very friendly
7.0 Good
Cons: Restaurant shut on Friday and Saturday and Sunday and not a lot of choice of places to eat. Would have thought the restaurant could have been open on a Friday and Saturday.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location just off the A26. Ease of parking. Nice little town with shops for essentials. Short drive to supermarkets and fast food restaurants
Cons: Had to book two separate rooms for a family of 4 which pushed the price up a bit

Pros: Clean! Fresh sheets and stuff. Possible for breakfast and free parking. Its really good as for this price
Cons: Maybe shower could be better
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Value for money Convenient Reasonably comfy Breakfast good
5.8 Okay
Cons: Rooms and breakfast were basic, bit tired around the edges. Bathroom tiny, could just squeeze one person in. Décor rather grubby. Felt like could all do with a facelift.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The parking was good & the staff were helpful. The manager even helped us to order a pizza for delivery
Cons: The bathroom was very basic. The shower wasn't very powerful & it was so small the shower curtain would stick to your body. There were no restaurants in the nearby vicinity. It was also badly signposted so we had trouble finding it
6.3 Good
Pros: The price was okay and we could check in very late. Breakfast was cheap and you could eat as much as you liked.
Cons: Shower too squashed. Bathroom door did not shut. Location was on an industrial estate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was very cheap (40€ per 3 people) and good location
Cons: Lack of air condition
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfy beds. Very reasonable price
Cons: Shared areas of hotel were a bit grotty. After hours registration using machine was very time consuming, having to complete whole process for each room separately.

Pros: Friendly atmosphere of the staff
Cons: The shower/toilet cubical being disabled I found the step in quite high and the floor prone to flooding

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location. Nothing, it has gone down since October last year when we stayed here.
Cons: The shower was broken, hair in the shower tray. The extractor fan did not work ! Breakfast we had to ask for milk and orange juice as both had run out. The juice was not chilled.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cheap 1 night stop over
Cons: Bathroom a bit small but for the price no complaints
7.5 Good
Pros: Electric booking system, parking.
Cons: All ok
7.5 Good
Pros: Good stopover on a trip down south.
6.8 Good
Pros: Convenient location enroute to and from Calais. Very close to motorway. There is a McDonalds close by but it doesn't open for breakfast until 9.30am. You can get a breakfast of sorts (Continental I think) at the property but it wasn't open when we were there.
Cons: The location is not the best as it is located in an industrial estate. It appears to be used mainly by wagon/van drivers. The rooms are accessed from an exterior staircase and balcony. During our stay the weather was very warm so most of the occupants (All Men) were out on the balcony, drinking, chatting and watching. We found this a little intimidating.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location. And value for money.
Cons: No family rooms
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, food at the campanile.
Cons: The room next to mine (no.1)their dog defecating on the grass area outside my room door.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Cleanliness, great location for travelling, nice staff and reasonable breakfast
Cons: Room was shabby and in need of refurbishment. Walls were paper thin and it was impossible to sleep being able to hear EVERYTHING going on next door.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: easy location
Cons: check in on the auto system took ages to do 5 rooms
6.3 Good
Pros: Very convenient and open 24hrs
Cons: No towels in room Air con pointless but it was hottest day of the year However, the above aside it was ridiculously cheap. If you just want a bed to break a journey and aren’t fussed about creature comforts then it’s worth it.
