Wonderful place to stay! Wonderful helpful hosts. Fantastic breakfast and superb location. Thoroughly recommended.
Nothing could have been better
It would be downright contrary not to like a place whose hosts make you feel so special. The attention to detail and the small considerations are exceptional: pretty vases of wonderfully fragrant flowers in each shed; daily-changing breakfasts of serious home-made deliciousness (compôte of peaches poached in Sauternes?). On top of that, Caroline and Luke are naturally welcoming people, full of conversation, information and recommendations. And the view is lovely, the shower hot. If solitude's what you're after, you'll find it here. Should you forget reading matter, no matter - there's a mini-library that includes much John Steinbeck - the great man lived in the adjacent cottage for several months while researching the legend of King Arthur. A wonderful, original B&B.
The weather: we coincided with the end of the heatwave (July '18). Caroline and Luke did their best to stop the storms, but even their magic was not powerful enough!
I’m not felt so welcome or so relaxed :)
Lovely friendly hosts. Superb setting and facilities. Can't wait to go back!
We had a lovely weekend stay at Discove Cottage. Beautifully fitted out Shepherds huts combine luxury and comfort with the restorative 'out-doorsness' of camping but with none of the downsides. Add in really delicious home-cooked food, the heavenly peace of the this unique (and literary) location, and the wonderful hosts Caroline and Luke - I simply can't recommend this stay highly enough.
