staff were very welcoming, very near to the bars.
it's calm the coffee maker in the room the smell of the towells
Close to restaurants Car parking on other side of the street
The cleanliness of room and bathroom. The restaurant was really nice as well. 2:30pm check in. Would be better if it could be a bit earlier.
The hotel rooms are quiet - you cannot hear next door - breakfast was great too. nothing
Quiet room with good views of a beautiful sunset. We were unable to have a light continental breakfast only offered Full English at £10 pp which we thought excesive for what we wanted.
Room was very good, as expected, minor issue with air con sorted out easily and quickly (10 mins) Staff unobtrusive but always available and helpful. Breakfast layout seemed a little confusing (1st stay at this hotel)
The restaurant tried to charge me £20 for two orders of tea and toast so when purchasing small amounts of food, make sure to tell the till operator you are not buying the standard ten pound breakfast. Also, parking costs £1.50 per day.
In city centre near city shopping Non
Excellent location, central. Very good english buffet breakfast!!!
the free parkjing it had a very old and worn out look
the security was bad . the window was broken into and my bag stolen .. DONT accept a room on the ground floor. The food was expensive and was the worst I had ever eaten .a small piece of dry chicken and some dry chips . small choc cake and tiny scoop of ice cream .. £19 ...
not much, maybe decent TV set in the room - room shower was not working the first day, -one of the worst value for money dinner (GBP 15-20) I have ever seen (fried prawns I ordered were a few pieces of some unidentifiable oily discusting matter as a starter), no reaction on the complaint made
Everything was very nice, clean tidy good staff attitude would certainly stay again, we did stay in the Ramada Encore on the way out (city centre) no comparison Ramada was very noisy rooms very small, if you want a quite pleasant stay & don't mind driving or getting a taxi to the city centre 5 mins away this is the one to stay at. No complaints
Friendly staff, nice environment. Location is a bit "out of the way"
Location Lack of air conditioning in the room.
Location was good for shopping and motorway staff not very welcoming or reactive to a minor complaint
Friendliness of the staff. I felt the room could have been a bit "tidier" for a 4 star hotel.
Very polite staff and made everything as easy as posible for us as we were doing the milton keynes triathlon and wanted to bring all of our eqipment to the room, so provided us with a ground floor.
As with most business allowances my stay was controlled by a budget and your hotel just fell within my company allowance but overall the politeness of all of the staff in particular the receptionist upon checking out. The cellar cooler was broken therefore the drinks were warm. For below answer there were no guest reviews on this hotel at the time of booking.
I thought the room was ok. I thought the food was excellent. The location wonderfull. I would have liked a the terrestrial channels on the TV if I had stayed longer.
good breakfast and friendly waiting staff hot tap did not work for bath. reported to reception but was not attended to during 3 night stay
Friendly efficient staff, clean good sized rooms, good bathrooms Breakfast disappointing - limited fruit/cereals/light breakfast options
Was suprised thought it was a country hotel turned out to be a modern conference center attached to an old building See above - fine for a conference but probably not a selection for a hotel stay - also long long walk through many corridors to room - if you have more than hand luggage you don't want to take it in
The price of the food in the hotel is extortionate. i had a small bowl of salad in the bar on my first nights stay. £15. On my second night, i was told i was not allowed to eat in the bar and that i had to eat in the restaurant. i had the same small bowl of salad and was charged £25! Outrageous
My room was cold and I had a cold shower in the morning. I did complain to reception - but was not compensated in any way. I did however really like the venue.
safe parking , quiet room and leisure facilities leisure facilities opened 7am an earlier opening would facilitiate morning exercise.
lovely countryside nice hotel and staff a little too big
I liked the location of the hotel and the reception staff were very helpful and booked meals outside the hotel for us. The spa facilities were a joke the pool tempature was tepid/cold the jacuzzi was not working and the the seperation of the mens lockers from the spa was not user frendly. The arrangements for breakfast were the lowest standard I have experienced ant any other Hayley hotel and I have stayed at Swindon eastwood and the Palace Manchester, with lack of choice and buffet not being topped up proberly.
Very comfortable, as the hotel is mainly set up to host conferences and large groups, it is slightly impersonal for single travellers / couples
THE most comfortable bed n/a
the location the staff forgot to give me the promised wake up call and I nearly missed my meeting
The staff were very helpful and friendly but we felt disorganised. As above, disorganised, did not pay attention to detail with regard to the wedding function we were attending, They forgot to serve canapes with the pre wedding breakfast drink, the food was bland, and service disorganised.
The building and surroundings are very pretty from outside. The corridor carpets leading to my room were very shabby and in need of replacement, these did not give a very good first impression at all. The room however was better than expected with a flat screen tv, a lovely big comfy bed and an impressive bathroom. The room was very cold and i found it difficult to sleep during the night as a result of this. No radiators but air con unit may have been able to give out heat but we could not figure out how to get warm air from it or if it was possible?
The staff were efficient, the room was excellent, I have paid a lot more and had worse facilities The food on the room service menu was expensive
The room was well furnished and the views were nice
The room was comfortable and well priced. There was confusion over the billing of another room's meals to my account which took some time to sort out.
Not much The price of drinks was outrageous ! The receptionist was unsmiling and curt. The duvets were far too hot.
Nice place with park. Easy and close parking. Efficient reception personnel. Shower system. So typically British...
The hotel was very close to the city centre They did not have a note of our reservation but luckily they had rooms available otherwise we would have been stuck!! The bed was very uncomfortbale - there weren't any pillows, just cushions. The shower was not very clean (mould around the edges) but the rest of the room was very clean and well presented
great price, clean and comfortable.room service food was lovely. didnt have the breakfast as thought £12 was a bit too much
pool + price
Clean, particularly bathrooms Staff excellent Terrible pillows made a bad nights sleep. Cheap stuffing meant your head rolled off and the square shape, whilst looking 'cool' meant that your head fell off the edge when turning over. Towels too small.
really helpful staff, great location, everything we were looking for in a short break pillows not very good and bar prices a little high
Good shopping location One of our rooms was meant to be 2 single beds. All it was was the double bed with a 'put you up' bed beside it. No duvet was left for the spare bed and my daughter made do with a sheet and blanket. The blanket cupboard was found to contain 14 large empty Cider cans - the staff did attend to remove them but it indicates poor cleaning procedure. Used sticking plaster found stuck to the wall in the swimming pool. In summary - some work needs to be done on the detailed cleaning of the establishment.
Rooms/breakfast was an excellent deal drinks very expensive. asked for coke, lemonade and small water and was charged £8.35. When I queried this it was reduced to £7.35 - still high! Evening meal also expensive for quality of food. Confusion over payment - when we arrived I was told I had paid on booking. When I checked out was told i had not paid and was charged
Very helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Good fitness facilities. Lovely breakfast. Very convenient for theatre and shops. Car park very safe and secure. Generous check out time and breakfast served until 12
We enjoyed our stay in the hotelm the breakfast was very good.
very comfortable the staff were all very uninterseted
The hotel was easy to find and park. The hotel security was poor
Comfortable, good value for money for mid-range, serves as a good over-nighter when travelling for business.
Only a short walk to restaurants and pubs
Service, Peace and Quiet No
The staff were excellent and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent too for both evening meal and breakfast. The outside door lock appeared to be broken. Last time we visited some 4 years ago we had to use our key card to get into the building but the lock seemed to have been damaged.
A really nice location on the edge of Milton Keynes. Friendly helpful staff. Good sized room. No complaints
the room was nice and clean , the staff in the morning was very helpfull and nice none
Freindly staff & clean room No towels in room
Its proximity to Woburn Abbey The majority of the other guests on the Saturday evening were from the nearby GAY.LESBIAN & TRANSGENDER CLUB
Restaurant being on site
Clean, friendly staff, good area for shopping. Prices in the bar, like most hotels it stops you staying at hotel for drinks.
It was all good I had a very nice time thank you None
Pleasant staff....excellent and extremely helpful duty manager NICK...really makes u feel comfortable when staff are child friendly No
Free swimming pool, free parking, very close to a shopping centre, quiet in the night. Overpriced, internet 15 GBP for 24 hours (and it was broken in my room), parking was full all the time.
Clean, Friendly staff. How water not working in 1st room but given another room with no hassle.
The hotel was ideally located for the Hub only a short walk and its surrounding facilities.
Clean comfortable rooms. The staff were helpful, breakfast buffet very good. Parking was easy. Booked two deluxe rooms , one had a balcony the other did not , I felt that they should have been the same.
the staff, esp duty manager were very helpful. very impressed with their customer service. leisure facilities need updating
Very helpful and friendly staff Coffee needs to improve. It would be nice to have espresso coffee. Rest of breakfast was excellent
We were there for the concert at the National Bowl, the hotel was well placed for walking, there were also nice bars and restaurants nearby and also a shopping centre. The breakfast was very nice too.. The hotel was great and the staff were very friendly, nothing we didnt like
Clean and friendly Nonthing
size and cleanliness of room and plenty and good choice of breakfast
A very pleasant hotel, with attractive bar and communal areas. Would have beeen nice if they had prepared the sofa bed for the kids, but that's just being picky.
Parking Directions were not great
Very good value. Would not recommend Harvester Pub which is adjacent to the Holiday Inn. Very poor meal. Insufficient lighting in room.
Very clean hotel and room n/a
customer service at @ reception
Well placed for the purpose of my visit, and an early breakfast which fitted in well with my timetable
I have stayed at this hotel many times as it is near to my parents.I think the staff are second to none, they are helpful, polite, and pleasant. I like the design and layout of the hotel it is very comfortable. I like the nearnes to Willen Lake. Nothing I did not like.
Proximity to work locations
Efficient staff, good ground floor lounge and bar/eating areas, better than expected continental breakfast. Not enough tea/coffee/sugar provided in the room, also one of the milk cartons was 'off'.
Hard to comment on all facilities as checked in at 3.30am after work and left at 8.30am the following day so did not use many facilities
The hotel was well placed to get to from the m1. The bedroom was comfortable - the bed was a good size, and the wardrobe was large enough! Nothing really
easy access from motorway. Friendly staff, comfortable room with good facilities.
Paid for breakfast but was told not available and needed to pay extra.
The helpful staff and their care for us. Also the meals were excellent
Lovely room at a very good price. Two flight of stairs might be a problem to some people.
The service was very good and the food was exquisite It was very noisy, we were able to hear people walking past our room and were woken by children
I found all the staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient even when I locked myself out of my room and had to ask Main reception for help. It was difficult to order an evening meal through Room Service - in the end I went down to the Main Reception. Also, the menu for Room Service was very limited.
comfortable rooms and good choice of food at breakfast, very well cooked.
The hotel is an old building with lots of character yet modern and practical inside. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. Overall we were very happy with conditions and services and are likely to return sometime in the future. Nothing negative to report.
Excellent checking-in - attentive staff. Breakast staff very efficient and the variety of food was very good.
Staff Heating in the room was difficult to control
Ease of access and facilities
Only stayed one night so not a lot of opportunity to use any facilities. The breakfast selection was excellent. Too short a stay to comment.
Bedroom comfortable and adequate and bar/restaurant adequate Bathroom could be cleaner - black rim around taps, shower and hand rails
Hotel good, staff very helpful no faults
Breakfasts were very good and the staff very helpful The room was not serviced one day and too few towels had been left the previous day. Slow service in the bar because there was normally only one person serving and they had too much to do including room service and taking credit card payments.
excellent staff. comfortable room. free parking. facilities. 24 hour reception bar prices
Easy to find, plenty of parking spaces available. Large comfortable hotel, efficient and friendly staff, good selection available at breakfast. Lack of TV channels
Bar staff was not very service minded. Surprised to find that you had to pay extra for internet connection. In most hotels in Europe that is free. Also that it is an outside provider.
Good hotel , rooms etc and we did get a small £41 refund due to the problems encountered below. Hotel had made no provision for hotel services for the Ulster Rugby guests who were staying there. (Most of the guests). On Sunday 10th, contrary to the e-mails we had received in February, all of the bar and restaurant facilities had been let out to Northampton corporate clients (not hotel Guests) and no provision made for hotel guests. Many of us had to go to the adjacent asda store to obtain beer and we were obliged to sit out on the grass with this before the Northampton v Ulster match!!
Very clean, Staff friendly and professional, spacious. Close to football ground. Restaurant good. Not really bad, but taps in bath difficult to operate, noise from corridor at night.
The location There was no hot water in the room due to problems with a boiler. No one advised us of this until we complained even though they were aware of the problems.
the rooms had luxury fittings. the bed was very comfortable including the pillows. the bathroom was well stocked and clean. the hotel bar shut at 11.30pm. It was disappointing when we arrived back from a party and was unable continue catching up with friends
Room was nice staff were friendly, unfortunatley I only checked into my room and had a quick breakfast and left so no time to relax and enjoy!
I was attending the football match at MK Dons Staduim. No
A fabulous modern hotel, great facilities, exceptionally clean, breakfast served until 11am which was very tasty and well presented and a welcoming late midday checkout too!. Extremely polite chap on reception.Ideal location for shopping and theatre. Would highly recommend a weekend break at this hotel...
Room very clean and tidy. bathroom very clean. Some noise from other rooms, not sure if enough sound insulation
Very comfortable bed which meant a good nights sleep! Breakfast could have been better. There were only two pieces of bread left and no plates to put it on after it had been toasted. We had to ask twice for side plates for our table and the salt cellar didnt work.
Everything, from helpfull staff to decoration None
The breakfasts were excellent and check in was very good. Room was well appointed. Room service menu was good value for money. Could not get WiFi in my room. The mattress was very lumpy and neded turning over. The room was small and needed minor maintenance, the shower was old fashioned. It was a bit noisy and too hot in the room! When O ordered the curry from the room service menu, it would have been great to have some vegetables in it to make the meal more balanced.
friendly and helpfull staff why were staff and guests who smoked allowed to gather outside the hotels main entrance, sometimes to two o'clock in the morning, to talk and smoke directly beside and beneath other guests bedrooms? This made getting a good nights sleep impossible.
the quality of the hotel
Good parking possibilities and the room was clean. Quite a small room. I was glad to take a double bed otherwise the room had been even smaller...
it was very relaxing and friendly and any info you required they were happy to help.
Very comfortable bed! Rooms a bit small (it's a training centre, so was built with single rooms that now contain double beds).
1st room not been cleaned, No bar, no resturant on the night I stayed. No Heating
the room was very small for double room, most staff were not happy or friendly
How close it was to where i was working, and a short walk into Newport pagnel, hotel was very clean but would only stay for 1 night not 4 as room to small. The room in the hotel was to small for a long stay, and bed was to short i'm only 5'10'' and my feet were over the edge. The SPA was ok but no Pool and changing room for 1 person at a time.
It was the price that first attracted me to this hotel but a week before my stay I saw that the price dropped further so I rebooked! I must admit that I had my concerns due to eth low price but I was surprised to find that it was excellent. The room, although small, was extremely comfortable and the power shower was one that you could spend all day under as it was wonderful!! I would stay at this hotel again without a second's thought. The room was on the small side but then again it was only me staying in it, but if there was two of us we would have struggled - however I did book a single. Also their internet had a few issues as they have 2 hubs and I had to swicth to the other hub on 2 occasions to keep a signal. Howvere these were minor issues.
Location, privacy, pleasant staff, nice room/bathroom bed could have been firmer - and a double bed against a wall is not ideal
Lovely surroundings. Good breakfast. Apart from arrival it was all very clean and efficient. Reception on arrival was poor. They had taken no notice of my booking confirmation and even aftre changing rooms I still did not get a double bed.
excellent room, helpful staff, decent food. noise from late arriving guests, doors slamming, plant room beneath room noise.
We were made to feel very welcome by all staff No complaints
Clean, comfortable quiet room Poor lighting in the bar, not enough seating.
Room was well presented and very nice. Staff were polite and helpful. The main concern I had is the confusing method of paying for my hotel room. I was under the assumption I had paid when I booked the rooms, my card was then swiped when I checked in and I had a reciept for the full payment. I was then informed when I checked out I had to pay and my card was swiped again. I have only paid once (it would appear) but have never got so confused by having to enter my card details on three seperate occasions.
- Managed to book a room at an exceptional rate. - Staff were very friendly and efficient - Food was top notch
Reasonable price, nice spacious room, parking, free wi fi, pets allowed FOC Only minor niggle was that the ground floor room I had asked for was up 4 steps which made it difficult for me as I had a trolley full of cat carriers and other items plus a large suitcase.
Being able to take my dog to stay with me! It was very noisy as there was a big party going on taking up most of the hotel - just a one off though
convenience for Luton airport and m1
Free wifi. If I stayed there again I wound not eat the food as it was very poor.
Comfortable. Good Breakfast Bar shut at weekends
Warm welcome, polite, friendly staff I know I chose the hotel as was only sleeping there 1 night and I wanted the cheapest. However, the bathroom was filthy - there were black cobwebs everywhere and when I lay in the bath, I noticed the underside of the soap dish and sink were thick with black soap scum. I did, therefore, get what I paid for. I was also unable to sleep as the bed was as comfortable as sleeping on concrete. Having said that, my husband slept soundly and found it comfortable.
Clean bathroom, crisp bed linen, comfortable bed Not informed on web site that room room would be at basement level and there was a slight 'drain type' smell at firsr
Convenient location It is nice that they have a restaurant open for evening dining, but quality is not fantastic. Breakfast is slightly overpriced in terms of selection and variety.
Lounge bar, ease of checking in. Draught Guinness tasted off. Limited vegetarian choice of tex mex lasagne with chips which was probably as bad as it sounded. Peeling melamine, chipped bath, threadbare stool, missing bedside tables, radio didn't work, terribletv reception, sheets didn't reach to the end of the bed, 1960's fittings. The hotel did not improve from initial impression of room feeling seedy and as though it rented by the hour.
During our stay there was lots of noise and 1 night we actually had no sleep due to other guests, when we mentioned it at reception they confirmed they had to call the police to have some guests removed during the night. This really ruined our experience as the staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and tidy. During our stay there was lots of noise and 1 night we actually had no sleep due to other guests, when we mentioned it at reception they confirmed they had to call the police to have some guests removed during the night.
hotel needs modernising and whole appearance of hotel needs tidying up.
Was a bit apprehensive due to views from friend, but pleasantly surprised. Nice comfortable, modern rooms. Helpful staff. Have already re-booked. no
welcoming staff not enough tea milk ect
Very friendly service, from all staff, food very good, room very quiet
Smart clean little pub with rooms staff are great, rooms OK perhaps a touch of tlc in the not to distant future would be good, but I would go back to stay at Longs.
Good position in village good food plenty of parking character inn Stairs but I am slightly disabled added to ambiance
staff were very helpful, the hotel was clean and tidy, great location in center of village and woburn abbey n/a
Room close to car park Room smelt damp. Breakfast not good
Lovely old building, good bar with locals in attendance, good restaurant, clean comfortable room, nice people None
Big room and very clean. The staff were relatively helpful and friendly. The food wasn't "bad" but, nothing to write home about. Certainly not complaining though, they give a discount if you're staying there.
Restaurant served wonderful, reasonably priced, local food
Lovely room, friendly staff, great location Good to read about the history The breakfast part - it wasn't clear in the booking process that the default was a continental breakfast, which wasn't very inspiring.
nice staff, nice room, very vonvenient is the parking lot behind the hotel, wifi connexion was weak in my room.
Hotel clean, bed firm, well equiped facilities in the room or available in the corridor. Bar area intimate - good for meeting other guests Information given on homepage is misleading, we do not agree that the menu was a "selection of tempting dishes", but rather bland and of limited choice. Nor do we agree that the area within Drake's bar was in deed big enough for restaurant status. We also found the temperature of the shower difficult to get right without either having very hot or cold water to begin with (did confirm this with the staff).
Convenient to my location for work The hotel servive was poor. I was given a smoking room when I requested a non-smoking. Generally cleanliness was poor, fixtures and fittings were old and tatty. There was a live coachroach in my bedroom.
comfortable large bed Lighting poor in room - ensuite dated, non smoking room smelt of smoke. On tight schedule so could not report.
The roos were very spacious Poor service, No restaurant, food was served in the Bar. Poor choice of food. Member of staff told us to go to the pub down the road as it was better!!
The room was nice The towel was poor condition old and grained
The bed was very comfortable. They took an extra £30 (refundable) cover charge.
Cheap feel to the hotel - worse quality rooms than a Travel Inn but more room facilities ie mini bar and satellite tv. Restaraunt and bar area very poor for a hotel of this type and brand. Poor menu choice and below average food.
The poor shower and the evening meal.
Breakfast should surely have been included at that price. It was a poor breakfast offering anyway.
The staff were charming !! the beauty of building itself and the surrounding countryside enhanced our stay tremendously. The room we had, was elegant and tastefully furnished (we were astonished to find a telephone in the loo !!).. and the view from our window was fabulous !! all in all, excellent in (almost) every way !! see below !!!! There was a charming Italian chap who was in charge of a very sparsely designed ''Railway Station'' type ''cafe'' !! chairs were not comfortable, and almost everything on the menu... was off the menu !! however !! what we did have were three (there were 3 of us, we were being treated to dinner by a friend) of the best steaks we've ever had !! truly superb quality beef, tender and full of flavour - and the charm of the lovely Italian chef made up for the inadequacies of the ''restaurant''' (hmmmmm !!) itself.
The breakfast was very good value for money, amd the staff were friendly the bed was a bit too soft and there was a cockroach in the bathroom.
It was conveniently close to where we wanted to stay Hotel staff not very friendly on reception no smile and no eye contact with us the guests and the room had a funny smell. Bathroom a bit dated
The bar food menu was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room next door had the TV on very loud making it difficult to sleep. The tap washer in the basin hot tap needed fixing.
cereal and fruit juices for breakfast were complimentary but we paid a bit extra (£3-4) for english breakfast. hotel adjoined to pub/restrauant which has very reasonably priced food with excellent staff manning the bar. tv only had 3 chanels with poor reception
Tidy and good location Had to chase receptioist as no one on desk & phone not answered
The location. Bathroom suite
Good Food large servings Room was smokey even thogh it was a no smokeing room
Excellent staff, nothing too much trouble. Wonderful for children, food ,play area. Could do with a residents lounge. Finding the hotel from Milton Keynes a nightmare as you end up in a building site, this should be mentioned.
It was situated in a convenient place for the training course I was going to.
nice pub and rooms
