Tram lines right next to it, friendly staff, beautiful building - inside and out, amazing breakfast buffet, very nice restaurant and bar attached to it, comfortable beds, easy access to Gellert Baths. The carpet and minibar in my room looked a little outdated, but everything was clean and comfortable so that was just a minor issue.
The hotel is old but clean and well maintained. Our rooms were large and the bathrooms huge by European standards. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast is great and access is very easy by metro and bus, both right across the street from the hotel. The thermal spas were fantastic and although busy not crowded. Use the spas on the side of the swimming pool, it attracts less visitors. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Will certainly return.
all was perfect....all was ok....staff and rooms too!!! i tell to all customers that gellert is shure the best hotel in budapest....no chance for others hotel to compare with gellert position too!!!! dr agnelli nothing.
The spa for goodness sake! Best I have experienced, but everything elsewas fine too. No, not really
access to the spa
excellent breakfast the Internet access is expensive and in fact does not work as the company that supplies it did not solve the problem that when (as very often happens) the connection goes down there is need to call the company for a logout before you can login again
location and facilties no
The interior common areas are beautiful. The room I eventually received was great. The breackfast buffet was the best of 10 hotels in 3 countries. The "single" room was a hot, noisy shoebox, not merely a "room with one bed". An absence of water in the shower forced a hasty, gracious upgrade to a lovely room. The baths were dilapidated and disappointing- website photos out-dated. Thermal bath not available to females- upgrade in progress, I think (hope)..
english breakfast, clean bathroom, large portions in restaurants, hotel staff speaks english and german, great view (danube, hills) room needs refurbishment, hotel price is too expensive
Excellent staff and services. Very quiet and confortable place. Great value for money spent. Perfect location. Beautiful thermal baths included in the price of the room. Maybe the moquette on the floor in the room
The Spa was relaxing The room was old and worn down. I had better expectations.
Staff was attentive and pleasant. Breakfast is amazing, huge and many choices which is included in room price. Price was very reasonable. Access to the bath house is so convenient and guests get discounted entry, it's wonderful to walk down in your big terry cloth robe and enjoy the bath house, towels are also provided by the hotel, added perk. Tram is directly across the street and allows access to all directions in the city. Views are stunning of the bridges and river. We were there in November so not crowded at all. The furniture in the rooms is shabby chic, looks like the original furniture from 1918. Despite the furniture it's comfortable and the linens are clean and good quality. They could use new pillows, they are down but very flat.
Staff exceptionally helpful & accommodating. Breakfast outstanding. Location perfect. We would stay again & highly recommend. Shower clumsy to use. Water splashed everywhere. Would have liked a comfortable chair in room.
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, really good breakfast The room was a bit on the small side
Location is right in the City Centre. Breakfast wasnt that great.
I enjoyed the spaciousness of the apartment which worked well for our family. The staff was very helpful and did not hesitate to assist us on a number of occasions.
Location Access to the hotel was limited. Very hard to get to the hotel due to construction works. Therefore we could not use and parking.
Great location. Comfortable and spacious room. Good value for money. Same breakfast everyday.
Poor choise at breakfast. Same menu every morning - was a little boring.
the staff show real willingness to help. They work hard to accomodate your request. The hotel was overbooked, so we do not have a room when we arrived. Staff wanted to send us to another Marriot hotel further to the location we chose. Foryunately, there was a cancelation and we could get a room.
Excellent location and facilities !!! Poor breakfast !!!
rooms are good, hotel staff quick and helpfull breakfast was really poor and no room service
Very cosy and nice studio room with good facilities ,room enough for 2. King size bed with lots of pillows was nice after busy day.Free sauna use is good thing.Good air condition. Maybe better TV-set and owen in the kitchen??.. And :Wine bottle opener was missing. These things dropped 1 point off
Fantastic for a family. Lots of space and room for us all to do our own thing. Right in the middle of Budapest - close to shops and restaurants. We will be staying there again.
staff were very friendly and helpful, location in the heart of the city center, two bedroom appartment was good and big enough... during our 6 days stay they cleaned only twice..
Good value for money. Staff very helpful and friendly. Huge shopping complex at West End about 5 minutes from hotel by transport was fantastic. Would like tea/coffee facilities in room
Great location right next to the main pedestrian street in Budapest; friendly personnel; nice design of the rooms; everything was clean and in order The walls of the rooms are very thin. During the night it was ok for me but in the morning some guests were a bit too loud. The main entrance is slightly hidden around the corner, so do not be surprised to stand in front of a restaurant at first.
Excellent location right in the centre of Budapest in the main shopping area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful particularly the receptionist. The rooms are really comfortable and modern and well appointed. We had a really stay at the Cosmo and would highly recommend it especially as it was extremely good value for money.
Just a lovely little hotel in a great location, small but delightful rooms, free wi-fi, helpful front desk staff, exceptional value for money. Nothing really !
Excellent choice and the best value for money. Stylish, comfortable, centrally located and not so expensive. We've enjoyed our weekend in Budapest and we're glad to recommend the hotel to everyone.
There's is little to fault bearing in mind the good value offered. Staff were courteous and helpful, breakfasts were good and the location is excellent. The dark entrance and sixties decor in the reception could probably do with an update but this is a minor gripe.
Clean room and good breakfast Too many stairs for older travelers
It's location was very good Despite we had reservation through "booking.com" they did not have this information. They arranged our rooms by chance.
Convenient location. The rooms were a bit overheated overheated.
Location Prepaid for a guaranteed reservation. Arrived to the hotel to be told that they did not have our room and that we had been moved to a different hotel. We were then given a map and told we could walk to the other hotel or pay for a taxi. We specifically booked this hotel due to its location and were sent to a hotel 10 blocks in the opposite direction. The hotel we were forced to stay at was old, small, and dirty; it also cost less per night but we were never given any refunds. I have never been more disappointed.
It had a splendid view of the Danube river from the room. The lift was too small, could only hold 2 people at any one time. It was also difficult to locate the hotel when we first arrived.
we did like the city tour and that the hotel is in walking distance to all we want to see. And of course the street with all the boutiques It was hot and the ventilation in the room did't help.
No electrical outlets anywhere, if one or two they were hidden or out of place. TV was horrible, truly 3rd World....no stations, poor reception, only 8 stations. I stayed in room 2, horrible to find and really beat up facilities in getting there (up stairs, beat up looking open area. Front entrance was horrible, I hope your renovating this, guests could get robbed in this area
Very friendly English-speaking staff. A nice, quiet place with a great location.
nice location 10 minutes from center, clean and good rooms, friendly staff
The room is very cozy and private with good lighting and smell The breakfast needs to be more variable
The hotel staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly. The hotel is very conveniently located in a quiet area. Excellent value.
The hotel staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Hotel very clean, very good breakfast, room spotless. Transport is very efficient and very close. We will surely return. Nothing
Friendly, very helpful hotel staff, location very close to citadel and tram stop
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided early check in given my early arrival. There was also free internet access. All the rooms were non smoking which is great. Good location on the Buda side near Elizabeth bridge. Breakfast was included and they offered and provided a breakfast to go given my early flight out was going to cause me to miss the breakfast hours - much appreciated Washroom was small and could have benefitted from more lighting.
The location was excellent at a reasonable price. The reception staff did an excellent job of referring me to nearby restaurants, and then helping me to hire a car for a few days.
The place is clean, the hotel staff is very nice, and the breakfast is good. The position is excellent.
very pleasant hotel staff, good location, 10 min to the castle, 15 min to downtown no public rooms, small restaurant, small bathroom
Breakfast included; great location; early check in accommodated Bathroom was a little small
We loved the beautiful, peaceful location! Nice neighborhood to walk in and close to town for sightseeing, in addition to easy transportation access. We will definitely stay there again. A minor point, but the shower temperature was a little hard to regulate.
Kalmar is more of a guest house, than a Hotel. It is run by Eszter and her family who also live at the property, a apartment house with several extra room which they rent on daily, weekly or monthly basis. The breakfast is served at Eszter dine room with gorgeous fine china from the old times. Location is very good, in a very safe neighborhood and off the beaten track but just 3 minutes walk from the the south bridge of Szabadsag (the green one) and the fabulous thermal baths at iconic Hotel Gellert (do not miss it)
Place and wiev from the apartment and nearest territory were nice. Odor and and replication of the breakfast menu.
Rooms are clean and large, the location is good. Beautiful building and garden. Small breakfast, for example no juice or water, only coffee (1 cup). Wifi unreliable/nonexistant, at least when I was there. The bill was higher (slightly, but still... kind of unprofessional) than stipulated on booking.com.
Staff really friendly, especially towards my 1.5 yr old toddler. Cheerful, though small, rooms. Having a shower and sink in the room was very helpful. Internet by cable from the reception desk was not ideal, but always cheerfully provided. Quiet, green, and peaceful location, but not very central. Accessible by public transit with one or two transfers. Fantastic playground ~6 blocks away! No bakeries, cafes, or businesses in the immediate area- completely residential. About 8 blocks walk gets you to a commercial area, though, including a cute teahouse and a Spar grocery store. Toilets down a long hall not ideal, but clean.
Clean, good location.
Free Internet No
Es una residencia de estudiantes, no está mal. Was a bit dirty and don't have double beds or beds togethers. It have a bad comunication transport to the center.
for a price of a dorm bed (or less) elsewhere in europe, i had 2 beds in my room. plus there was a private shower, which was nice. yet the shared washrooms at the end of the hallway were a bit too far of a walk (my room was at the other end). overall the quality was acceptable. the walls were too thin and people next door were up too early. you could hear next door and downstairs talking, even in usual talking voice. there was no toliet paper in the washrooms. and though the linens looked white and clean, i could see pieces of hair on the pillow case. and as expected, it was quite far from the city center. though bigger grocery stores were within reach in a 20 min walk.
Friendly staff Toilet broken
good Price Bathrooms are quite dirty
We booked 3 days. It was 49euro. But we peryed 51euro. Why???
part of the city, where the hostel is based breakfast
