good ratio quality/money; standard clean room; good breakfast buffet; good food; the last four days the gratis wireless internet in the room was stuck;
Very friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, pretty dining room, fast and accessible internet. The weather was hot and a fan in the room would have been welcome.
It has a great location if you are going to Pecs, Hungary. The rooms are clean, the view is good, breakfast is included. It's a good value for the money.
Rooms are comfortable but not special. However, the location and tranquil swimming pool with nice view is an asset.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel breakfast is great. Good location near city center. The rooms and bathrooms are very basic - the beds aren't particularly comfortable. This place is functional, but not a relaxing or indulgent place to stay.
The garden with the pool - just gorgeous We had a room at the front. This is on a main road just at a tunnel and it was really noisy with the window open (no air conditioning).
friendly, english spoken, wi-fi internet, comfortable and good price in good location
Excellent staff, breakfast, location and room None
The location of the hotel was perfect. It is the oldest hotel in Pest, and is at the beginning of the best of the old streets in the centre of the town, just off the main square. The manager speaks perfect English, and is a fountain of information having been a member of the government for the 1990-94 period, which was the start of transition from the communist regime to present-day Hungary. We thoroughly enjoyed our two days in Pest, and thanks to the manager's recommendations, visited a number of important exhibitions that we would have otherwise missed. Our room was spacious and lovely, overlooking the street. The restaurant on the sidewalk right outside our hotel provided auwfully slow service the night we ate there, but that is not really part of the hotel, and we could have eaten elsewhere.
This hotel was in an excellent location and fortunately we had a back room because it was in the main street and rather noisy at night. Although it had character the room was rather tired and old fashioned The curtains in the room were coming off the rail and because the rail was so high up we could not fix it. Also the toilet seat was broken off the toilet which was not pleasant. The hotel advertises full English breakfast but it was not the case. One day we had to stand up for breakfast because the room was full and the food was almost run out.
Excellent location, right in the heart of the city centre. Most sights, restaurants and cafes are within short walking distance. Kind and helpful reception personnel. Breakfast adequate but not diverse. Provided shampoo for personal hygiene is insufficient and unacceptable. Our room was never cleaned up, propably because of leaving from the room around noon every day and there was no room cleaning service after that time.
The staff were very friendly and had perfect english which made it much easier for me as I have no hungarian, location of the hotel was also perfect. The beds were too hard and the shower had poor pressure.
Very helpful and excellent staff. They spend a lot of time and effort making phone calls to try to find my lost luggage. No. It was good for the price.
Very clean. Comfortable clean beds. Very poor parking facility. Not recommended if driving anything other than a very small car if any.
Great location in the city centre. Breakfast was poor - some more selection and more frequent fresh supply are needed.
Best location It is not a 3 star hotel
front office and restaurant stuff low wifi signal in the room
It was quiet, and had nice view of Pecs. It was very difficult to find, even with GPS. They need to install more signage.
Cleanliness Value of stay and iwhat we were quoted online did not match the actual price.
Room with a balocny and beautiful "panorama" of the city is good enough. Helpfull stuff, nice restaurant. Forget about room with forest view. There is no wiev at all, toalet and shower actualy in the room not in separate place. At least room is very small (approx 50 cm around the bed). Attention: breakfast from 8am
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. The view is spectacular, giving full meaning to the name Panorama. It is on a very steep street, so possibly not accessible in the winter.
nice view & quiet the above mentioned
Spacious rooms and cupboards. Cleanliness. Modern furniture and decoration. The gourmet food!! The food was extremely good and well presented. Location: near the city center and station. No coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The maintenance is not upheld in the hotel, some of the appliances i.e. hairdryers were not working.
Very good location, just a few minutes of pleasant walk to the city centre. The room was clean, very spatious and quiet. The design is not at all as impressive as the published images.
Quiet location, great breakfast buffet. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town, I would have preferred a more central, lively neighbourhood.
The staff were great and catered for our every needs, the food mainly the breakfast was lovely. Everything was ok.
Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff was helpful in advice, orienting us to the city with a good map and suggestions for things to see, very good for overnight stop.
Comfortable room in a large, modern hotel, located about a 15 min. walk from the cathedral square. Access to our room on arrival and to a table at breakfast was delayed due to a conference and tour groups also staying here.
Very kind and helpful staff. breakfast could be improved and the bathroom was really small.
Good communication with the staff.
Small hotel is located 10 min. from Old City. Clean room with toilet, TV and the fridge. I stood there only one night. Was ok. The continental breakfast was includeded in a price, I expected small meal, but one little jam container for a person is not enough.
I liked the hotel staff. she was very nice and helpful. And the location was good to, just next to the city center, but was quiet enough. The room wasn't so clear, we recognized cobweb, and we missed the glasses and soap from the bathroom, but still everything was ok.
The hotel is nice, clean, tends to look luxurious on a limited space and budget. The staff are young and seem to be unexperienced. Just one girl spoke English. Breakfasts consist of a large loaf of bread and a pot of hot water. If you are lucky you got a couple of tea packs, tiny tidy slices of cheese and sausage, 2 pieces of butter and a piece of jam. If you are not so lucky, - yet, you got these anyway. I found difficulties in making transfer order to aeroport. Though I ordered it myself in the town travel agency, I don't understand why the hotel staff can't do it. If they are so limited to provide these funny breakfasts why they don't use the opportunuty to make some money on calling local transfer companies for their guests?
Facilities were good but bed was very small and uncomfortably hard.Breakfast was fairly spartan and at first we thought we were going to have to pay for our coffee but proprietor changed her mind and said we would get it free because we made reservation thru booking.com Small bed which is out of date even with other budget hotels we have stayed in.
The staff was very friendly. A bit of a walk from the train station but overall location is good as it is near the main walking street and easy to find. A good sized room with a nice sitting area. The sheets on the bed were odd - they didn't cover the entire mattress, which was a bit ratty.
Clean rooms. No parking place (we left our car into the street). Poor breakfast.
The receptioniste was extremely hot and juicy! Reya , I think! All the rest!
Receptionist was very kind and helpfull. Internet connection worked well. Early morning (about 5 a.m.) started somebody upstairs with showering. I had feeling, that he is showering in my bed - terrible noise. Evening I heard every word what they said. I was in room number 4 in first floor.
An old building had been completely gutted and a very modern interior installed Definitely 4 star. excellent facilities (including secure parking across the street) Central location. No
The beds were actually soft! Good location, easy access, close to downtown Pécs, the belvaros, and restaurants.
Safe parking and nice room design. Food in hotel restaurant was not as good as suggested in menue.
Modern interiors and furniture, well working AC, excellent shower, car park close to the hotel. Very noisy. It is located at the busiest street crossing of Pecs. Poor breakfast.
friendly staff breakfast was weak
The design was sleek. We had a suite, and it was large. It didn't cost too much. Air conditioning was less than powerful. Bugs were in the room (we reported this, and were told that they were having an "invasion" and that we should keep our windows closed). Cleaning of room was far from thorough. Location wasn't good for a tourist visit (an uphill, substantial walk from most of what you'd want to see); it might be good for a business trip, but I'm not really sure where the commercial area of Pecs is.
Resonable prices allover, great service and a very nice restaurant with very good prices
Nice room, friendly staff Small window with no blind or curtain. I also prefer a room with a bath
It was well located for the conference. It was clean, had free internet access, good breakfast, staff were very helpful. Pecs is a friendly place. The fitness room was not fully functional. Although it was 4*, it was 4* Eastern European style - basic decor rather than stylish - which the name would imply.
The location is quite good, not far away from the down town, quite hotel with everything you need to spen a weekend.
The rooms are quite spacious, decorated in a minimalist but cosy way. One can get a relaxing massage in the evening just few steps from your room. Good value for money. The location in the suburb has no charm and is not really appropriate if you plan to discover the city. Breakfast is quite poor for a 3 stars hotel.
Staff was very helpful.
very nice room, new, very clean, wifi. Good restaurant, good price At the reception not kind at all. And I had 3 discussions before she accepted to bill me the price I booked on Booking.com, instead of their price.
Staff and room Room was not cleanes during stay. Bar was not open
This hotel needs to have either a/c in each room or at-least have ceiling fans. I had to cancel my stay after one night. Please pass it on to hotel staff. Thanks.ABUL
The entrance up to the hotel was positiv, friendly staff Hotelaccomodation is very old and in very bad condition. Room was not very clean. Badroom was complete a mess. No hoose and the showersdoor was broken and was not cleaned. Curtains at one side of a window was missing. Very loud music played whole nigt long sound was coming from they nearby bildings. I will not even sleep there anymore even if they would give me the room for free!!!!
It's not my first time at Laterum Hotel, and I've always liked everything: food, services, comfort, facilities and value for money.
Large free car park. No air conditioning in summer.
The Hotel is nice, it's very clean and the staff very helpfull and friendly, though most of them don't speak english. You can get along way with german and a phrasebook. The beds are very hard and not very comfortable, but okey. The Hotel has free internet access, a nice boblebath and you can get a massage. The food is good are service fastI would recommend the Hotel Laterum It says (on booking.com) that they have laundry service, but I found this to be untrue. But Tesco is only a 5 min walk from the hotel and they can to drycleaning. The hotel doesn't have A/C and thats a big minus - I stayed there is August, and it is somewhat ucomfortable when you cannot sleep well bacause of the heat
Excellent location in the city center. All major attractions within walking distance. Good breakfast buffet.
Friendly staff No english language television programmes
Car parking available and located in citycentre Room furniture a bit dated, no iron available, having to pay for parking
location bar especially service outside reception air con very poor poor choice of breakfast
Exceptional architecture, polite staff, ideal location in the very center of the city. Wifi cards
I oved the old-fashioned luxurious decor of the communal areas. Breakfast was good. Menu for other meals looked fine but we didn't actually eat there. Rooms are due for renovation.
The outside The room
Central location Rooms at the front were extremely noisy
The hotel is convenient and central, the staff helpful and attentive, and the meals and service good. The 'period' atmosphere and stylish decor are part of the attraction.
Breakfast was very limited.Good location. Difficult to find the parking lot.
The staff is perfect, very nice people. Everybody speaks or understands English. The view of the room is great. Excellent breakfast with freshly made omelette and a good restaurant nearby. The internet worked well (until the lack of energy). There are no elevator in the hotel. Some rooms do not have a shower, just a bath tube, which was what happened to us, but the owner offered us one extra single room for free for us to have a shower (we did not accepted, but it was nice of her to offer). During our stay there was a lack of electric power in the whole city and we did not have hot water because there is no back up for energy (a power generator, solar energy...). The hotel is accessible only by car, it is on the top of a very steep hill. Bring your gps.
We experienced friendly and relaxed staff and good service. Diverse breakfast. As I'm 1.95m tall, I didn't fit into the bed. The bathroom was not properly cleaned (behind the bathroom door, clearly visibly from the toilet). The room appeared to be in this state for quite a while, as some does was visible in the corner. Even though the room was not expensive, it should always be clean.
Very qiuet, nice view, very clean, poor breakfast.
Panoramic views of surrounding countryside. The Hotel was decorated in Hungarian tradional costumes and momento's. Food in the restaurant was very good with beautiful views
It´s a charming hotel with a nice family atmosphere and a great restaurant right next to it. Very pleasant. A couple of amenities (such as soap in my bathroom or the air conditioning remote control) were missing. The first person that checked us in wasn´t very helpful.
view, breakfast, location (when you have a car) difficult to find without gps, quality of the bed
The website reflected the way that the hotel was in reality Initial welcome was somewhat surly!
Hotel design and panorama view.
This is a dream location and a place to stay for the views and the food, the accommodation is superb and I would return there tomorrow
Location, informality, helpful comments, nice attitude. Helpful if asked, but not pushy with information. Room comfortable. Quiet. Not so much not like, but the website should generate a detailed road map of how to arrive by car, taking note of the one-way streets and the "cul-de-sac" where the hotel is situated. It took me 20 minutes to find it from less than 1km distant, most locals did not know where it was, and I ended up phoning the hotel which was helpful.
exceptionally helpful front desk staff with very good levels of english. quiet and effective a/c unit , not blowing directly onto bed. good size bathroom. good wardrobe space, plus a stand to put your suitcase on. only 8 minutes walk up gentle gradient to tourist office on main square. quiet room allocated as per my request. breakfast ( room ) and stairs a little spartan compared to good standard of bedrooms
very nice staff, nice rooms including bathrooms, quite locations in small street only a few minutes walk into the city centre the breakfast is not very special, especially the quality of the bread is very poor (they only have rolls, which are very soft and white)
The hotel was very comfortable. When I stayed there it was very hot outside, and the excellent air conditioning made a real difference. The staff were friendly, and the reception staff spoke English. The breakfast was good, and the bar downstairs was very convenient.
Room was really nice
Location is good. Close to large supermarket and nice breadshop and within walking distance to old town No lift. Not friendly staff. Poor breakfast, very basic and not value for money paid.
The kindness of the front desk staff The room is in the first floor. Although it is not responsability of the hotel I should point out the infrastructure works in the streets which became very very dificult to find the hotel.
the bathroom a sensation of mouldy air
We take dinner there, and also the included breakfast. All were ok, good value for money. Parking lots available inside and outside. They should utilate themselves with air conditioning since, at least from our side, the only window available was the tiny roof window. Have in mind the days with high temperatures.
hotel staff the rooms were uncleaned
The staff was very nice and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. The restaurant was a pleasant experience with decent food and nice people. We did not like that the rooms were very small
Close to town center (300 m), small private parking closed at night, excellent coffee at breakfast... and a very sympathetic and helpful young lady as night auditor :-)
Very kind and nice female receptionist. Breakfast
The room was spacious Own parking spot is a joke; had to park the car on the street and got the screen wipers stolen (some slums in the direct neighborhood); smoking allowed at the "reception" badly affecting all guests around - no reaction to remarks made (cleaning personnel smoking like chimneys); the venue should rather be called a guest house; building works nearby causing noise and dust made the impression complete
The courtesy and willingness to help of the staff, especially Anita at reception. The climb up the hill to the church overlooking Pecs
the nice receptionist ( name : EVA ) when I stay the hotel.
Cleanliness, friendly staff.
nice staff, clean room, wireless internet included. no aircondition, no furniture in the room except the bed.
I liked the friendly greeting on arrival and the quick check-in. The clean air conditioned room was appreciated. The restaurant meals were good and the service quick and friendly. Excellent breakfast.
good food in the restaurant, specially garlic soup in the neighbourhood there is a lot of dogs and they starts barking at 5 in the morning so it was impossible to sleep
correct staff, closed parking area. room equipment, cleanliness could be better.
Clean and basic hotel to use as a base for a short trip to PECS. Friendly staff.
Good stay. Quiet place. Wide rooms in the building facing the hotel. Excellent and very helpful staff, all very nice. Some beds aren'r wide and need replacing. Water pipes noise might disturb.
Excellent modern bathroom. Good breakfast. Nice outside bar.
The location was good - about 20min on foot from the hotel. The room was big and the hotel was equipped in old style - like in 19th century. Small bathroom and functionless air-condition
Very good breakfast, location, the size of the room It was very cold on the 3rd of September and the heating system was off ..
Location is perfect Noisy room, It's situated on the main road and window is old one, summer time is very hot, so if u open the window, u can't sleep. No air- condition. So I sat up all night.
The hotel was quite comfortable and quiet, near the center of all available tourist activity. The staff were friendly and efficient and provided very helpful information.
Location is excellent. My room was on the upper floor, an attic room, and was spacious, clean, and quiet. Staff was friendly & offered good recommendations. Pecs is a very pleasant small city.
Location in town down. Some of staff very helpful and others very indifferent. The hotel has been designed by a architect in love with himself - great to look at from outside but as a hotel not at all practical. Starts with a very narrow entrance door and if with bulky luggage watch out! Then a narrow staircase up to office and a narrow, winding and creaking spiral staircase to breakfast room - older or heavier guests might have a problem with that one. My room was very long and very skinny and narrow and due to lay-out of rooms with lobby very noisy - uncomfortable. Architect should be banished from designing hotels!! Finally, the breakfast was a jumble of "included in price of overnight" and being charged for - confusing.
clean rooms and lacation the toilet flushed badly
Modern and architecturally interesting hotel at a great location, rooms are very clean and comfortable, staff very useful and friendly. I strongly recommend (!), especially for the city trip or backpackers.
The location was fantastic, the staff very accommodating and the room was extremely easy to spend time in. N/A
The location is absolutely perfect for visiting the old town. And it is really conveninet to have a great pizza place just downstairs (and a grocery too). Staff spoke good English and was always willing to help. Great view from room no 13! Nice breakfast too. No parking owned by the hotel. It is possible to park just by the hotel, but it is public parking, there is little of it and it is very expensive. Bathrooms were definitely on the small side. No wi-fi reception in the room (but it worked in the halls and in the comfortable reception area).
The location is excellent for anyone who want to explore the wonderful city of Pécs, as well as for going on a walk in the surrounding hills. It is also very easy to find. The hotel is quite noisy. There is not only street noise coming in at night, but the walls are paper-thin! We could hear every word of the conversation of the people who stayed in the room next to ours, as if they were sitting in the same room with us. It was impossible to sleep with people simply talking next door till late at night. Also, we left our luggage in the hotel storeroom after checking out, only to find that a little present we'd bought was smashed to pieces while being 'looked after' there.
The location is perfect for the city centre and the compact rooms have a fantastic quirkiness which should appeal to anyone with a flair for interior design. The sachets of shampoo and shower gel were woefully emaciated.Flushing the toilet was a "challenge" to say the least.
