Pros: One of the best places we have ever stayed. Staff really took an interest in us. Super breakfast and complimentary afternoon cocktails.
Pros: Yiris made us feel at home and gave us the option of several different rooms to stay in. We chose the one in the front next to the door but be aware of the motorcycle noise outside. Great location and fantastic breakfast. The cats on site were adorable. Well appointed house and rooms with air conditioning (a must in Mompox!) I'm glad Casa Amarilla was unavailable for these dates as the location of this hotel is much better and without music from the bar outside. Highly recommend and would be happy to stay here again in the future.
Cons: We were not able to take our breakfast with us when we had to leave at 6:30am. We had to wake up early to eat at 6am.
Pros: I love the house-like environment. And the architecture was amazing. It is better when you learn who Dr Lorenza was.
Cons: Shortage of water when there is power outage. Other than that excellent
Pros: Delightful people, couldn’t be friendlier, want to make you feel you are in their home, best breakfast in Colombia, great location by the river.
Cons: Cold water shower
Pros: Breakfast outstanding. Staff extremely helpful. Location perfect.
Pros: Great service, is like being at home! The owner and the staff are very kind and do everything to make your stay great. Rooms are very comfortable and beautiful. Great location!
Cons: Water supply is an issue in Mompox. Sometimes the shower had low pressure but is not the Hotel, is the city
Pros: Very nice host and staff. I felt at home in this cosey casa. Great location.
Cons: No water after 23.00. No warm shower.
Offering a year-round outdoor pool and terrace, Casa Sinning. Año 1637 is set in Mompos located in the Historic Center, which is the World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Each room includes a flat-screen TV. All rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer. You will find free WiFi and a tour desk at the property.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, and great vibe.
Pros: I like the house, it was beautiful, big and colonial. The host, Betty is very kind and sympathetic. The staff is very pleasant too.
Cons: Everything was ok.
Pros: Beautiful old colonial mansion with fantastic courtyard and beautiful antiques . Place is full of history . It’s the ESSENCE of Mompos! Landlady is very charming lady from old Mompos family
Cons: All great
Pros: I loved every moment I stayed in Casa Sinning. The place is incredibly beautiful and very well preserved. This iconic accommodation is located in the historial neighbourhood of Mompox which is very convenient for sightseeing. The owner, Mrs. Betty is very welcoming, helpful and outgoing. We had very interesting conversations about Mompox, the structure of the house and cultural agenda of the city. I definitely need to come back for the Jazz Festival.
Cons: The way to Mompox is quite challenging due to on-road work and limited bus schedules, However, despite the difficulties, it's completely worth it,
Pros: I loved everything. The building is beautiful with a very special atmosphere, staying there for two nights was worth the long and not too comfortable bus trip from Cartagena. The owner and the staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. My room and the bathroom were spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable, the wifi worked well, breakfast was good. I wish I could return one day.
Pros: Beautiful colonial house with lovely garden and rustic pool area. Everybody was friendly and helpful, room was lovely - and huge - and Nina and Nino (cats) were a very welcome surprise!
Pros: Great breakfast
Located in Mompos, Portal de la Marquesa is in the historical district, within a 5-minute walk of Te Deum House and Church of the Immaculate Conception. Featured amenities include express check-in, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
Pros: Staff was great very friendly. Packed us breakfast because we left at 5:30 day of check out. Place was great. Furnishings marvelous.
Cons: Toilet in our room should be replaced. It dripped all day. Didn't flush. We had to tell management to fix. Still wasn't right.
Pros: Excellent location by the river, great breakfast and relaxing pool
Pros: Very friendly staff, helped us locate parking a few blocks away and carry our gear to the hotel. Beautifully appointed and well-located along the malecon fronting the river. We were served a cool drink on arrival and each afternoon. Breakfast was ample and tasty.
Cons: Bathroom window up high opens to dining area, which opens to garden and interior passages. A piece of glass would seal off sounds and moskeeters.
Pros: A small hotel of great character. We had the large old room (very tall) off the front lounge - it felt slightly worn (for example, a wobbly tap on the basin), but was pleasant enough, with a spacious bathroom, and the proximity of the really lovely lounge (beautiful objects, paintings, furniture) was very welcome. Breakfast was very good, and we also had some delicious fruit juices. There is a delightful evening/night porter who was so warm and friendly, and very helpful to us. The situation is good, as it's away from some of the louder bars etc - it was really quiet at night. By the way, guidebooks are out-of-date when they discuss the difficulty to transport, although the journeys are around 7 hours - we had a bus all the way from Cartagena (Unitransco), and another one out all the way to Bucaramanga (Copetran).
Pros: Beautiful location, gorgeous furnishings, good breakfast, lovely little pool in courtyard, excellent and helpful staff.
Located in Mompos, Bioma Boutique Hotel is in the historical district, within a 5-minute walk of Te Deum House and Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Pros: Perfect location and the hotel is clean and pretty. The staff is very nice and ready to help at all times.
Pros: Excellent service in overall. The staff went above and beyond to meet our expectations like to go to another place to buy the type of drink we were craving for.
Cons: I would have liked that they could offer snacks during the day time like sandwiches, fries. A little something to enjoy by the pool or by the jacuzzi. Also it would be ideal to have some shade at the rooftop.
Pros: Great old building and large room
Cons: The main road out of the city towards Bogota is a TOTAL mess for 20km
Pros: Staff was super friendly , David, Manuel and Lilibett were excellent, very friendly, aprochable and professional . Lilibett went the extra mile to help us find an alternative way to come back to Cartagena. Really excellent staff! I will highly recommend this place
Pros: The room was big and well-equipped. The pool, though tiny, is super welcome considering how scorching Mompos usually is. Mompos is a magical place and the hotel is in the best part of it.
Cons: I can't blame the hotel for this, because Mompos in general and especially lodging seemed rather overpriced. Anywhere else in Colombia, I would have expected to pay 1/2 the price for a place like this. Oh, and the wi-fi was pretty spotty for this price. The staff thought it was an external problem, but I didn't have any issue with the wi-fi at a couple restaurants.
Pros: The comfort of the room and the service was superb. Also we got a lot of useful advice and recommendations for activities to do during our stay.
Cons: Unfortunately, I reckon is expensive. Despite been the hotel quite empty, they were charging a lot when we compare to other hotels nearby which also look comfortable.
Pros: The staff was amazing, the place very clean and comfortable, it exceeded our expectations in every single aspect! We will surely come back.
Cons: Bathroom should be equipped with electric ventilation.
Located in Mompos, Hostal Casa Mebi is within a 15-minute walk of Church of St. Francis and Church of the Immaculate Conception. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities.
Pros: Great place to stay In Mompox, the place is new and in good condition. Staff very attentive and helpful. I really liked the place
Cons: Since they offer breakfast (to be paid on top), they would benefit from making it larger with additional possibilities
Pros: Friendly and very helpful staff! Located 2 blocks away from the city center so everythig is within walking distance.
Pros: Very helpful staff and comfortable room. Kitchen and air con were a welcome touch!
Pros: The family who runs this house hotel were just wonderful. I inadvertently came a day early, but they handled it graciously. I was not well, but they were helpful in getting me to the pharmacy right after breakfast. The room was nice and cool which is what I needed to recover. Internet connection was quite good as was the laundry service. A moto taxi cost 1 COP and takes you everywhere. Others might join which will give you another view of the town. Mompas is off the beaten path and quite remote, but interesting and relaxing.
Cons: The town due to its remoteness sometimes loses electricity which makes charging and connecting impossible. So try to stay fully charged and perhaps have a SIM.
Pros: It's rooms in private house. You enter the rooms from the main hall, right next to the kitchen. It's away from the historic centre which is a plus for the whole experience. WiFi was good.
Cons: The landlord and his friends/family gather in the lobby in the evening and you may hear muted sounds even late in the evening, be it their chat or TV.
Pros: Friendly staff quiet location easy walk to town
Cons: All ok
Hostal Doña Manuela has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden in Mompos. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The air-conditioned rooms provide a garden view and come with a wardrobe and free WiFi. At the hotel, rooms are equipped with a desk, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. An American breakfast is available each morning at Hostal Doña Manuela. You can play billiards at the accommodation.
Pros: The hotel looks good but doesn't deliver.
Cons: No hot water. No wifi in the room and poor wifi at reception. Staff sweeping leaves outside the room at 5am. Breakfast poor. Very bad value for money. Would not recommend.
Pros: Location was perfect, right in the middle of town. Pool was amazing and well need after walking around the town. It is a very restful and beautiful place. Rooms were not quite like the photos but all the same were very clean and relaxing. Surprising cool with the fan going and no conditioning working. The doorman was very friendly and assisted us when ever we needed assistance.
Cons: We speak a little spanish, however when I tried to speak with reception they made no effort to try and help me (reception lady was on mobile phone when went to asked and showed no interest in talking with me, when I gave up she continued her conversation). Was disappointing. The advertisement said they "speak your language", so I had hoped that they were apt with understanding foreigners spanish. There are wonderful boat trips, it would have been nice to receive a document on what they could do to assist our stay, guides of the town/ boat ride information. Maybe even a town map to guide people in what to see.
Pros: Great location. Beautiful hotel
Cons: No hot water, small double beds
Pros: The property is beautiful
Cons: It seemed like they did not understand how run a hotel. Access, payment, they had facilities like a pool but not set up to use well.
Pros: The construction is beautiful
Cons: Room for 4 people does not have enough space
Pros: Very beautiful monastery. Splendid tree in the first patio.
Pros: Known as the best hotel in town, there are few things that, however, make it not a 5 stars hotel. A big trouble is that there is no wi-fi in the rooms. The room and the bed are very comfortable BUT the decoration and details like the number of towels, the type of towels, and the bathroom itself make it an absolute no 5*. Breakfast is good and the people are great and very helpful. Expect 5* common areas and 3.5* rooms for euro standards.
Pros: Beautiful building. Rooms are dark but one appreciates it as they keep cool. Beds are comfortable.
Cons: Staff was not always nice or perhaps they are just shy and don't know how to handle foreign tourists. Waiter at the restaurant was very nice. Breakfast was a bit poor.
Colonial House offers accommodation in Mompos. You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property.
Pros: Staff very nice Good location Clean and spacy room
Pros: It is a colonial house , very clean and very comfortable , the owners are really nice people , breakfast was delicious and plentiful the welcome cocktail was amazing !
Cons: I should have stay longer !
Pros: Friendly, relaxed homestay-style experience in an old colonial house. Great pizzas and cheesy arepas for breakfast. Hammocks and rocking chairs. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Nothing i didn’t like as such. As with many accommodations, a bit more storage (hangers/hooks/shelves, etc.) would be really handy, especially in the bathroom. Be aware that there is no aircon, but fans in the room.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was very comfortable and clean.
Cons: No free drinking water
Pros: The location is very central, nice old colonial house, big rooms, good WiFi
Cons: As it’s a family house, there is a lot of noise. Children were playing and screaming right outside our room until 11 pm when we told them to stop.
Pros: Arrived quite late after a long journey and were greeted with a very warm welcome and were able to order dinner from them, which was really nasty, beautiful property, lovely hosts and nice family, great food
Cons: Having to leave so soon, sadly our schedule didn't allow it
Pros: It’s a relaxed atmosphere. Location in the middle of centro.
Cons: Breakfast was rather on the lower edge.
Pros: Amazing location - exactly in the centre Great breakfast with the best homemade arepas Extremely kind staff Very quiet and cosy atmosphere Big bedrooms
Cons: No mosquito nets on the bed
Pros: - the breakfast was okay -staff is friendly but doesn’t speak english at all! no recommendations and a bit unorganized.
Cons: -the bathroom was horribly dirty. there was a leak somewhere so there was always a wet floor. -no A/C just two fans that don’t cool down the room so it was extremely hot inside. -the staff didn’t know who we were and basically didn’t care till the check out.

Pros: The room was modern and spacious, and there was daily housekeeping service and clean towels. Every inch of the building was spotless. I could choose what I wanted for breakfast, and it was prepared just for me; it was also served wherever and whenever I wanted to eat. Ali and Martina looked after every need. Cristina, at the front desk, arranged a boat tour and my transportation to Aracataca and Santa Marta. The location was great, too.
Cons: I was very interested in the history of the city, and the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable about it.
Pros: Location is good, beds are enormous and very comfortable. Very calm at night.
Pros: The staff were very helpful, Alice in particular. The room was quiet and had a window to the outside.
Cons: A shelf in the bathroom would have been useful.
Pros: Very clean spacious room access to kitchen free laundry service
Cons: Common areas stiflingly hot, couldnt take advantage of them. No garden ir well ventilated courtyard unlike many properties in mompox.
Pros: Wonderful staff! Helped us get a taxi to a town nearby and let us stay in the room past check out time while we waited for the taxi. It was a nice touch to have breakfast included.
Cons: Not through the fault of the hotel, but they were doing maintenance to the wifi so it was out for a day of our stay.
Pros: Very nice and helpful staff.
Situated in Mompos, Pueblito Magico Hostel - Mompox has a bar, garden and free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation features evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. An American breakfast is available each morning at the hostel.
Pros: Great location and cozy interior.
Cons: Really hot in the dorm rooms. My laundry must’ve been done in extremely high temperature, some clothes came back destroyed and half was too small to wear.
Pros: Great staff great location
Pros: Perfect location, right beside the Santa Barbara Church, facing the river. Plus they have a water refill station for 3000 pesos a day. I loved that!
Pros: I loved the atmosphere at the Magical Village. Lovely front of the hostel with a view facing the river with trees and chairs to sit on. I Respect Pueblito Magico’s environmental sustainability practices with unlimited refillable water for 3000 pesos a day! The staff were extremely helpful and lovely and were respectful of me despite my Mal Spanish. Thank you to Jamie, Jose, Wilbert, Diana, and Nelson! Mompoś was totally worth the stay it’s an elegant place. Colombia is special to me.
Cons: Everything ok and really nice people
Pros: The location is great, right by the river and the Santa Barbara church. Staff is friendly and the kitchen is well equipped. They also offer boat tours on the river.
Cons: There is no real place to comfortably sit down. There are only chairs outside, 1 hammock or some kind of mattrasses on the floor. It looks like they are improving some stuff though. The booking info says that it is possible to pay with creditcard, but it didn't work when we were there and otherwise you have to pay a 5% fee. We slept in a dorm with 4 beds, which are not very sturdy and some are not very comfortable. The airco is only on from 9pm to 7am due to energy saving restrictions, which makes sense but also means that the room is very hot during the day.
Pros: Great location and great staff. Right along the river front. Lots of good places to eat close by. All the staff are really helpful and nothing is too hard.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing location beside the river. It was really nice to walk around the area.
Cons: Water pressure in the bathroom could be a bit better, but no fuss.
