With a stay at Secret Pension in Pyeongchang, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Cheongtaesan Recreational Forest and Lee Hyo-Seok Memorial Hall.
Pros: Great location to Phoenix Park, kitchen was stocked, big stack of towels, clean beds, spotless accommodations. Loved having two bathrooms and a couch. Plenty of room for our family. The hosts even had sleds for the kids to borrow, tea, and fruit for us. Loved my morning walk up the road to a trail. Beautiful views, great sledding hills, quiet and peaceful location. Highly recommended!
Cons: Beds were typical hard Korean beds.
Pros: The hosts of this accommodation are excellent, kind and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the comfort of their guests.
Pros: The hosts were extremely helpful!
Pros: The hosts are so wonderful and welcoming. They went out of our way to accommodate us and transport us around.
Pros: Confortable Bed Feels like home Excellent reception and atention from the owners, gently and friendly. Although the propriety its not well located with no services nearby, no public transportation and far to walk by foot, the owners drove us to supermarket and to the ski station with no extra charge when requested, it was especially important when we arrived.
Cons: Location, althought transportation was always provided upon request.
Pros: Very nice place to stay. We spend 10 days during the Olympics in Secret Pension. Very friendly en helpfull owners. The owner brought us (6 persons) every day with his car to Phoenix Snowpark were we took the bus direction Pyeongchang station. There we took the KTX to Gangneung Station. Also he picked us up every night at 1.00 at Pyeongchang station. We were very gratefull for that. The appartement ( 6 persons)we stayed was very nice. We had two bathrooms , 3 2-p beds and even a little kichten. Every day the owner brought us something like apples- orange jus etc. Plenty of towels ( In Korea the towels are very small).Secret Pension is situated a little bit distant from the restaurants and supermarket ( 2,5 km downhill), but the beautifull surroundings were Secret Pension is situated makes you forget the distant were Secret Pension is situated. One of us was with a picture in a Korean newspaper. We could't find the newspaper nowhere. But the owner looked and searched for it and send it later to Holland. We say THANK YOU!!!
Pros: The hosts were extremely friendly and warm!
Pros: Very affordable and sweet place ! Highly recommend for travelers !
Cons: If you provide breakfast, it will be perfect.
Pros: My friends and I loved this place. A little secluded which we liked. Great view and location! I will definitely return!!! Our host was gracious - took us to and from our destinations. There were 4 of us and our room had 2 bedrooms with 2 large beds in one and 1 in another. A Korean Yo - floor mattress was thick enough so it was just right and comfortable especially someone as myself who doesn't like sleeping on the floor. All in all, a great space for its value. Strongly recommended.
Pros: The hosts are extremely dedicated to making you comfortable and to helping you get around. They have a magic place on a magic mountain - we loved it.
Cons: they are not well equipped for breakfast as you are expected to cook in each apartment's kitchenette, and there is nowhere to walk to for food, so you have to plan ahead a bit. otherwise, awesome.

Pros: Room is quite big
Cons: Price is not reasonable. The price I booked 2-3 months ago was much higher than the price on Feb. 05. No breakfast included in room price. Receptionist told us the breakfast was included, but we were told it was not included when arrived in restaurant. The receptionist only reverted that he had no idea. So terrible! I raised the question via Booking.com, no response.
Cons: Very expensive mini bar and breakfast.
Pros: Direct shuttle from airport to resort though long journey (3hrs), and guest discounts with selected facilities at resort. Spacious and clean room - good for family with young kids.
Cons: No gym, breakfast was ok, comfortable seating but quality of food can improve. Taxi was expensive for nearby attractions. No direct train from airport after Olympic. Only 1 beginner ski run.
Pros: Located at base of Alpensia ski slope made for an easy afternoon of skiing the day of my arrival on the “ski” bus. Concierge extremely helpful in caring for my bags, so that I was able to ski both days with just a single overnight stay. The village had plenty of restaurant choices, and it was quite interesting investigating the possibilities. The ski slope catered to beginners. All buildings were labeled “Holiday Inn” so it was a little confusing as to which building was the hotel. Turns out it was in the “Casino” building, so prominently signaged. I did not venture into the casino.
Cons: I also wanted to ski at nearby Yongpeong, which was stated to be easy with their shuttle. But not really, as first shuttle was at 11:00 am... I was advised to take a taxi. Taxi was not expensive, 13,000 Won. After skiing I planned to take the shuttle back, but the bus barn was large with numerous buses, and the shuttle bus did not have an Alpensia card on its dash. Although I was at the bus lot well in advance of departure, the driver simply passed me. So taxi back. Yongpyeong ski area had more vertical, so a better choice for skiing. On taxi ride, we passed the 2018 Olympic luge venue, and the ski jump is easily visible from Alpensia.
Pros: Good value, good location
Pros: The room size is big and very comfortable for those who's travelling with family. However in Alpensia, there's limited restaurants that you can go for but should be okay if you are spending time less than 3 days there. If you are taking shuttle bus (purple bus), they will stop infront of Holiday Inn Suites, so you have to walk abit (about 3-5 mins) to Holiday Inn Resort. Overall easy access to the Ski area and the view is breathtaking!
Pros: Location is good. Staff service is excellent. Got discount for skiing. Highly recommend to pay more for skiing view as it is fantastic just to watch people ski., otherwise, the surrounding is also very good.
Pros: facilities and super kind/helpful staffs
Pros: location for skiers very good
Cons: room heating inefficient , in house restaurant less than average
Enjoy far-reaching mountain views and alpine sports at Holiday Inn & Suites Alpensia Pyeongchang. Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel, so you can catch up on work in your own time. You can dine on fried noodles in one of the many Asian restaurants in Alpensia's food courts and bring takeaway snacks back to enjoy in the privacy of your Suite.
Pros: Beautiful place and nice to go with family. Nit so many people during CNY holiday which is better.
Cons: Dont have staff to help with our luggage.
Pros: Located in front of the ski slopes
Cons: Big, noisy, unclean
Pros: Large, located right beside the ski slopes.
Cons: Not too clean, found strands of hair on the bedsheets when we just arrived.
Pros: Awesome location and a stone throw away from the Ski House.
Pros: Very near to the ski area and our room is very big
Pros: Good location
Cons: No body pick up the phone for operators and houses keeping. No bathing towel. On my second day, the house keeping took my bath floor towel but no return. I am disappointed for their service.
Pros: Location provided easy access to all the amenities.
Pros: Great amenities that can cater to everyone’s needs and preference.
Cons: The reception areas for hotel and apartments are not the same; would be great if it was made clear upfront to avoid confusion.
Pros: spacious room
Pros: Nice and comfortable hotel

Pros: The room are clean
Cons: The front desk are nice and they can speak in English
Pros: Clean, new, spacious. They gave us a room with a king bed(listed as double but it was huge) and single bed.
Cons: The bathroom has no outer door, only inner doors for the shower and toilet.
Pros: Clean facilities and breakfast
Pros: Clean, new
Pros: Everything is excellent very quite and family oriented
Pros: The room is like brand new. Probably for the last winter olympics, and haven't been accommodate customers ever since.
Cons: nothing really, a bit of distance from the resort, about 13~15 minute walk. Not bad considering it as warm up.
Pros: Very good hotel. Close to the ski resort, walkable distance. Shuttle bus also provided. Discount on ski rental from a shop near the ski house, go and rent your equipment there, ask the front desk. Ski lift very expensive. Will visit again.
Cons: We were four adults who stayed in a suite. There is a kettle with coffee and tea, but no spoons provided. How is one suppose to make coffee or tea without a spoon? Other than that, everything was excelent.
Pros: The room was really big and very clean. The br akfast was decent.
Cons: Too clinical.
Pros: Great experience
Pros: We had the family room and it was spacious and bed was so comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked to upgrade to family room as our initial room was on futon beds on the floor. We found the futon mattresses wasn’t thick enough and would not be comfortable for us traveling with kids.
Cons: The location was not walking distance to the Phoenix ski resort. However, the hotel provide shuttle bus every 20 minutes so that was pretty good.
With a stay at Phoenix Pyeongchang Hotel in Pyeongchang, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Phoenix Park Ski Resort and Phoenix Park - Golf Club. Featured amenities include a business center, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. This resort has 6 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
With a stay at Whistle Stop Pension in Pyeongchang, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Lee Hyo-Seok Memorial Hall and Pyeongchang Mooee Arts Center. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hosts were extremely accommodating and friendly. Providing lots of good info on things to do. We were a lil sad to go and hope to come back one day.
Pros: Owners are friendly, quaint room with heated flooring.
Pros: The hosts we very hospitable and helpful. The property was beautiful. Every detail was lovely and spotless. We just needed a quiet getaway to recuperate for a few days, so the remote location was exactly what we were looking for.
Pros: Mr and Mrs Park were wonderful. Very warm, caring and friendly. Breakfast was delicious every morning. They couldn't have been more helpful. Absolutely loved my stay. I highly recommend Whistle Stop Pension.
Pros: We were going to the Olympics , so we expected some price gouging. We paid $390 a night. It’s a Bed and Breakfast and a very nice one! My husband loved chatting to the host.
Cons: Towels were no bigger than hand towels
Pros: The place itself was beautiful, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The facility or the pension itself was amazing and comfortable The host was really hospitable despite them 'not being able to properly converse' in English with us'. They still tried their best to communicate with us and even drove and toured us in Pyeongchang. -- They also gave us breakfast for free, when they realized that we havent bought groceries yet. They had pet dogs and cats which I really loved as well!
Pros: The staff was friendly and courteous. Very clean rooms and quiet surroundings. The facility was well kept and clean. The rooms were nice and visually appealing. It's not too far from the train station and they have their own designated shuttle service which is much cheaper than taking a regular cab. They work hard to ensure their guests enjoy their stay.
Cons: Late night transportation is a bit difficult to obtain to and from facility (for non driving guests) but if you plan ahead, it's manageable. This facility is better suited for guests with vehicles.
With a stay at Rainbow Hwangto Pension in Pyeongchang, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Phoenix Park Ski Resort and Pyeongchang Mooee Arts Center. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: New facilities next to a river and forest. Including swing, trampoline and outdoor kids swimming pool (summer time).
Pros: The pension is operated by a good young couple. The room & equipments inside are new and clean.
Located in Pyeongchang, Kensington Hotel Pyeongchang is a 1-minute drive from Odaesan National Park and 9 minutes from Woljeongsa Fir Forest. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 10 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff assisting at first call. Nice location with scenic view on the mountains.
Cons: The room facilities apper to be old especially balcony sliding doors. The same is about bath room. The convenience store in hotel did not work on Sunday morning. The room heating was not adjustable by room controller.
Pros: The hotel has a nice design with a great garden. The rooms are slightly old but still in good condition and the bathroom comes with a bathtub. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and featured various Western and Asian dishes of good quality. Our booking included free entrance to the Sauna.
Cons: The coffee during breakfast was not drinkable, which was disappointing considering Korea's big coffee culture. If you are from a western country, don't expect too much from the sauna, it is very basic, like every korean jimchilbang (korean bathhouse). If it is not included in your booking (which I think it should be) I recommend visiting a korean jimchilbang instead, probably cheaper and a nicer Korean experience. We stayed during winter and our room always felt too hot, even if we turned off the heating. However we had this problem at many hotels in Korea. Otherwise everything was great.
Pros: The rooms and the whole hotel outlook are better than expected. They need more English speaking staff
Cons: The staff were confused with our booking. And would not allow change in our booking despite we book for 3 rooms n we were separated. They will charge u for extra pillows if u ask from front desk.
Pros: I like the garden at the hotel
Cons: shuttle service is not applicable on Tuesday and Wednesday
Pros: Location, quietness
Cons: No place to get coffee early in the morning. Run down sauna facility.
Pros: Great infrastructure and Olympic memorabilia was great a touch. The Gardens were fun to explore. The transfer to ski resort was free and punctual. On site CU store was very useful.
Cons: I did not like that the station collection did not run on a Wednesday (which was not mentioned anywhere) leaving us stranded. I did not like the fact that despite big advertised as perfect for families, there were only 3 beds in the room, and no space for an extra bed. I did not like that we had to pay extra to use the pool / gym. Although the room price was very reasonable, the breakfast and restaurant were very expensive. I did not like the fact that the majority of the hotel was quite cold, but the room itself was excessively hot. With no chance of adjusting the temperature.
Pros: French garden
Pros: The decor
Cons: I would have loved a breakfast included and an earlier check in time
Pros: Everything. A little short on staff. They asked us to get down to the restaurant and grab the glasses of wine.
Pros: It was very classy. Optional bath was nice. Breakfast buffet was okay. Scenery view was okay but not wonderful. Having an indoor swimming pool was great! It was so warm. Convenient store is available.
Cons: Ondol rooms were quite small. 2nd and 3rd rooms were not ready until 1 1/2 hours after 3:30pm. Shower head sprayed out to the floor and surprised me. Please fix so we don’t suffer cold water sprayed at us. Slide balcony door makes a wind noise if handle is not lifted all the way upwards to shut completely. Walls are a bit thin. I could hear music and baby crying. Main lighting control was hard to find. It is on the room clock as light 1. Press it and it turns the main light off. Restaurants are too expensive. There was no small cafe in the hotel.
For comfortable sleeping, there is a memory-form bed, an Egyptian cotton sheet, and a bedroom with a Goose bed. There are high-quality natural marble floors, a wide window living room and a wooden terrace to enjoy the views of Garagewangsan Mountain. Cooking utensils and meals are available in the kitchen where you can cook for yourself. We also have a closet, flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, free toiletries, and microwave ovens.
Pros: Rooms are spacious, love the heated room floors and the equipped kitchenette.
Pros: Room was large, place was quiet, employees were friendly, and rooms were clean.
Cons: The restaurant was not open and BBQ place was outside, and on a rainy day was not ideal to bring family.
Pros: Clean and Cozy Apartment, Beautiful scenery, Swimming pool
Cons: Not enough facility, staffs are kind but not helping
Pros: it was new, modern. have nice BBQ place.
Cons: Room has chemical smell too much! it was hard to breath. No trash can in toilet, hair dryer didnt work properly (hot air wasnt work). could see living room of next room at kitchen.
Located in Pyeongchang, Starvill Pension is on the riverwalk, within a 15-minute drive of Lee Hyo-Seok Memorial Hall and Pyeongchang Mooee Arts Center. Featured amenities include express check-in, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Planning an event in Pyeongchang? This pension has 635 square feet (59 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Mr. Kim and his family were very attentive hosts. This property is more like a bed and breakfast that’s a hotel. It is 15 minutes or so to Phoenix Snow Park and Pyeongchang city area (restaurants, etc). They have plenty of parking and cabs to Pyeongchang Station KTX were under 10000krw. If you’re looking for a getaway out of town, this is the place to go.
Cons: The price was excellent and I enjoyed spending time with the Kim family. I was in town for the Olympics and should’ve stayed in a city (ease of acces, etc). Paying (to me) was difficult. I’ve never completed a wire transfer like that before and I was a bit worried....I shouldn’t have been. The room was warm and clean and they were fantastic, attentive hosts. It was an honor to stay in their pension.

Pros: Steve was a superb host, very helpful and very accomodating! He drove us to/ from the property to the train station, Phoenix Park and local restaurants.
Cons: A sofa bed would make a big difference to the comfort in the apartment.
Pros: Room was very clean. View was perfect. Staff was very kind supportive.
Pros: It was so goot to stay with my family. If we have chance to travel again, hope to stay there!!
Pros: Everything! The his Steve was the man! So helpful, caring, and nice.

Pros: Condo is next to ski slope n lift. Opposite the ski resort has local korea food at reasonable price. Ski equipment rental is also at 50% from the ski rental department
Cons: A lot of construction going on in preparation for Winter Olympic 2018
Cons: Transportation from Airport to the Condominium was bad! The shuttle bus only has limited timings and I missed mine due to a delayed flight. I took an airport bus to a nearby city and took a taxi which costs more than $100! The Condominium also doesn't provide basic amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste, comb etc, there also isn't a wardrobe.
Pros: View is fantastic
Cons: Room is cold as cold air leaking in via the glass doors
Pros: Highly recommended place, especially good for family with children.
Cons: Pretty noisy due to many of children.
Cons: No towels in the bathroom
Pros: So close to the ski slope The condo is spacious and equipped with kitchen which is perfect for family
Cons: Only provide small towel No shower gel and shampoo For family with kids, it is not convenient to travel from Incheon to the park as need to transfer buses. After a Long flight, with kids and luggage’s, I just booked airport transfer which cost me USD 250 per trip.
Pros: Location was fantastic. The weather... Ahhhh I have no words to explain it. Pyeongchang phoenix is the best place for holidays in winter as well as summer.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
Pros: V clean n bright
Cons: Staff can’t speak and understand English
Pros: Location near the slopes, however this is not exactly doorstep skiing. You really dont need to stay near slopes unless you need to come back to the room every so often, we (family of 5 including small kids) didnt, not worth the hassle. English language among staff is adequate.
Cons: No bath towels provided !! No toiletries. Ondol mattress (read: low cost) instead of futon as advertised. Long walk from the free shuttle bus stop, not easy with luggage. Pricey for what we get, and not even olympic season yet. Unhelpful staff - smiling yes, but at the same time saying your problem not mine. Enough to put me off visiting ever again, and discourage anyone from doing so.
Pros: Very near ski slopes
Cons: Only provide basic amenities
