A bit old but confortable for a short stay. Overall good for amount you pay.
The price was good. The location was right across from Lake Tekapo. So yes, the price is cheap. Our room cost us about $62 USD. But when you figure you can stay at Motel 6 in the states for 39.99 USD , this place made the Motel 6 seem like the Ritz Carlton. Firstly, it's winter and very cold. The rooms are freezing and only equipped with a small heater that did absolutely nothing. I didn't even get out of my coat for a couple hours until I needed to take a shower. The bathroom was even colder as there is no heater in there. The rooms only come with a certain amount of hot water. And when you do try to turn the water to hot, the water pressure drops to nothing. So basically warm water trickles out and it's pretty impossible to really clean yourself. All this why you're shivering from and trying to get done before the hot water all but disappears. Secondly, room is very dirty. There floor is something you don't even want to think of walking on without shoes or sandals. The furnishings all have stains, holes, discolorations, bodily fluids of some kind, etc. Sections of wall were even missing in our room. It looks like it was built in the 50s or 60s and never refurbished. The radio on the nightstand had to be the first radio in recorded history ever built. No joke. Luckily the bed did have an electric blanket. That was the only saving grace that didn't cause me to die of hypothermia in the night. Again, not being dramatic. Also we were told on the website there was free WiFi but that's not the case. You sign up through some 3rd party and pay and it took several tries to even get it to work. So basically you get nothing. The room is cheap but other hotels for the same price offer more value. This hotel provides little heat. Little hot water. No WiFi. Uncomfortable beds. Dirty rooms. I've stayed in $20 a night hostels that offer cleaner, better quality accommodation with more amenities. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If I had paid $30 or something I wouldn't have complained but considering I paid the same amount a few nights earlier for a place in Omarama that was actually really nice, it is totally unacceptable.
Convenient to Christchurch, fantastic area Over-sold on their website - Budget and Standard rooms very average
The rooms at this hotel are clean but they need to be completely refurbished. They are so old the pattern has worn off the lino in the bathroom. The age of the furnishing of the rooms.rooms
Central to all activities
Location is convenient to the lake and the restaurants. Noise of door opening/closing from adjacent rooms. Dog barking in the middle of the night. pets should not be allowed in rooms ! Furnishing in the room need upgrading.
Great view, very nice room, a 4/5 star hotel room, but this is not really a hotel. Quite expensive.
It's spacious enough for family of four. Has applicances to cook own meals if you want. The room is behind owner's house which blocks the view over the lake. Doesn't feel private enough. Had to pay extra for kids to stay there, even though said it slept up to 5, price is only for 2 people. A bit further out of town than thought. Not warm enough in winter. Would recommend they put a gas fireplace in.
Excellent location with a great view. Facilities were more than adequate. A very comfortable 4 bed accommodation. The front of the unit is a glass wall. Its great for the daytime view but at night the anti-glare curtains allow a fair view of the inside for anyone standing outside.
Time was spent sight seeing and appreciating the awesome land of lakes, mountains and endless open spaces.
Accomodation was warm and welcoming with everything we needed
It was peaceful. The owners were very helpful. It is only a short drive to the town centre. The unit was well presented and well stocked. No.
We stayed 1 night at Three Rivers Lodge, our unit was very nice, very comfortable, nice views. Unusual to have the owners living in the same complex but it seemed to work quite well.
staff are welcoming, nice little touches. It was easter and the owner even gave us some mini easter eggs! it was a little expensive for the size of the room but you only have to look at the views to appreciate why
The bed was comfortable and the view of the lake was nice.How-ever at the price that was paid I expect much more than a bedroom with an unsuite. The room was too small and lacked facilities that I expected The Three Rivers was not a hotel - and the impression I got from Booking.Com that it was a large establishment. In fact it was a B and B with only an unsuite room - no other facilities there were 3 rooms in all. We drove past several times as it looked just like a house from the outside - which it was - there was a view of the lake but the premises was most disappointing and the charge did not match with other accommodation in Lake Tekapo. There were no cooking facilities - no wine glasses in the room. We don't mind B and B's and stayed where we had breakfast included for a much lesser cost.
