Service was quick and friendly
Attentive & competent staff, breakfast was lovely & made fresh to order not a buffet style. The views from the hotel are fantastic. Easy to book and check in was a breeze, even had my bags carried for me. Would certainly visit again business & pleasure. David, Manchester Bed was a bit like a camp bed, very thin mattress.
excellent food, nice views from the bedroom balcony
Hotel room was lovely, nice location, good value for money
Very relaxing atmosphere in the hotel. Attentive staff who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Food and wine was well priced and excellent. will definitely revisit in the future. No negative experiences.
Very nice hotel, food excellent, staff very friendly, rooms very clean and comfortable, would deffo stay again.
Location, Friendly staff and good food.
Great hotel with super staff. The evening meal was fantastic. The room was a bit cold during the night.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Friendly atmosphere, nothing too much trouble even though we turned up late Sunday evening.
very convenient to the train (steps away). very thin staff during breakfast - one very over-extended person to serve breakfast and process guests checking out.
The blonde lady who served breakfast (and most other meals). It was the opening day of the Ryder Cup and she kindly set up tables in the bar for breakfast so we could watch the first tee shots. Top service!
The fact that they had read my notes on my booking, the very friendly staff and the food was pretty good The only thing that was a dissapointment was the fact that they advertised as a real ale pub but only had one ale on. They did have bottled but these worked out very expensive
The staff were excellent, they went out of their way to assist me during my stay. Parking can be difficult but the car park at the nearby Railway station can be used if necessary.
Breakfast very good (nice bacon)
Location, friendly and helpful staff
friendly helpful staff
Friendly welcome, comfortable room, owners Scott and Illona very helpful and keen to please, great food. Easy train access to Edinburgh and a great spot to get back to after a day in the city.
A very pleasant hotel to stay in, only 25 minutes by train to Edinburgh.Lovely seaside village.
The room we were given was in a small annexe in the courtyard and we had our own front door which mean as we were attending a wedding, we did not have to disturb anyone in the hotel. The cooked breakfast was good. Lack of ambience in the hotel itself. Although it is only a small hotel in a small village, I felt there was a lack of welcoming feeling in the decor, etc.
Very modern and clean. Free internet access. No food or room service after 10pm
Very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, nice food and would stay there again. Probably the location. A little bit out in the sticks
Amazing hotel - The hotel was classy, smart and decor was modern and sophisticated. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bedrooms were amazing. The view we has of the Forth Rail Bridge was wonderful and the room was decorated will attention paid to every detail. Complete luxury from the moment we arrived. The bar was well stocked and not over priced. Despite the hotel being fully booked with a wedding party staying the bar had plenty space for my husband and I to enjoy a few romantic drinks before bed. I would have prefered a bath as well as a shower in our room however the shower there was very powerful, hot and big enough for two. If the hotel hat a swimming pool it would perfect.
Comfort of the bed. Great shower and toiletries. I do not like the room layout as a huge mirror blocks out any daylight. Also, there should be an icemachine located on at least every other floor. Poor lighting for sightimpaired guests.
It was a short stay but everything was fine, nice relaxing atmosphere. Good access to the airport. Shuttle bus to airport available but not early enough for our flight. Service starts at 6am
Nice warm welcome at reception, the girl was very efficient and friendly. The welcome cocktail was a lovely surprise too. nothing.
Clean, modern, comfortable and not far from town. Some lighting in the wardrobes behind the bed would help.
the internal setting can be rather expensive for drinks and meals
Nice hotel for reasonable price
Great welcome, nice quality, clean, modern, good food...very impressed. Breakfast room service was very disorganised and slow, plus this hotel is a bit pricey on food and drink.
Fantastic view of Forth Rail Bridge from bedroom and restaurant windows.
Easy to find, stunning views and bars has great food & atmosphere
We arrived very late in the hotel but the staff received us very friendly. The room is small but with everything you need. And our room had a little balcony. The view to the railwaybridge is stunning.
nice comfortable hotel My wife paid the bill .They charged here 130 pounds although the internet price was 79 pounds, including breakfast.I noticed this error when I was already on my way home.
Beautiful view and lovely town. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. No lift, so might need to consider if you can't carry your suitcases up stairs.
Great setting with vies of both bridges from the bars The budget rooms look onto other rooms windows as they are between the old building and the newer building, also parking is either on the street or on a free car park a few hundred yards away.
Excellent staff and service with the location an added bonus, the manager Craig was a gem and so helpful, the food was wonderful and made our short stay so pleasurable,we are contemplating booking for either Xmas or New Year. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff. P.S. the new lounge bar is brilliant! If any fault can be levelled why oh! Why did you not double glaze the room windows at the front rooms of the hotel.
Good location. Meal options and menus good with great views from the restaurant and bar. Cooked breakfast was good. No choice of cereal, fruit etc for breakfast. Room looked out to street side of property so no real view.
really cute hotel in S. Queensferry, only 15 minutes from airport, excellent cafe with great views, free wireless, excellent shower, super helpful staff standard room was small and without view, bed could stand upgrading, no elevator (but ok considering good rate).
Excellent Service all round. Fantastic rooms
The double room I stayed in was very big and warm Bed matterace on double bed was bent and very uncomfortable, suggest new matterace
Friendly welcome, helpfull staff. Nice clean hotel.
Location to the place I was visiting See below
Location convenient, but no parking. One electrical socket was condemmed. Bathroom decor was very tired but it all had character.
Very helpfull staff, looked after me very well. A great breakfast was included in the price and was a wonderful way to start the day.
The hostess was very helpful, she even called around for another room in the village for my surprise guest. The room was very pleasent although it was quite small. And the breakfast was cooked just as I requested. I had to use a bathroom one floor up and the toilet would not flush.
We loved the little town where the hotel was placed. And the hospitality of the hotel staff!, They made us feel, great!
This B&B is in a small, quaint, old Scottish village on the Firth of Forth. The ambience of the area is overpowering & one everyone should have the chance to enjoy.
Very polite staff, comfortable room and good food To be honest, We would say that there wasn't a thing to complain about.
Excellent location to access the Forth Bridge without the hassle of the local Edinburgh traffic.
Value for money Noisy room - could hear occupant above walking
Staff were very helpful at reception and the rooms were clean, very happy experience.
Disappointed with the location advetised on the internet. It was a good 15 mins from Edingburgh airport. It was advertised as only 7 miles. It cost me £18 in taxi as it was late at night & no buses running. I was due to spend my last night there as it was supposed to be closed to airport but I cancelled & just got the airport express bus from Edinburugh city
Location Price!, We paid the most of all the guest staying at the hotel that weekend and were most annoyed at being told this by the manager infront of our party
1St floor links with restaurant Can't think of any
Very efficient, courteous and friendly staff.
Breakfast very good value for money. Noise from "Boy Racers" at McDonalds next door and other inconsiderate Patrons outside front door. Weather was wonderful which meant the room was very hot and unable to get hardly any air.
Warm welcome, large comfortable room and excellent breakfast. None
Value for money, very good quality none
the reception staff was very welcoming and on meeting the housekeeping on way to hotel room the lady very kindly offered help and asked if there was anything further she could do for us ( she did not have to do this - it was much appreciated) the lunch we had was very disappointing :( one of our dishes (chicken balmoral) was cold while my colleague had to choose a second choice as after the people on the next table to us complained about uncooked pastry the beef steak pie was no longer available- both of us were very disappointed with the meal .
Stayed there while attending a wedding reception which was excellent. Good food, reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly reception lady gave a nice welcome. The room had real strong cooking smell coming fro kitchen below.
Clean, good location. Staff very good, food in restaurant good as well. Water pressure not great in shower.
The staff at reception were exceptionally helpful, pleasant and polite. The bedrooms need redecorating, sympathetically this time, to suit a Victorian hotel. Most of the rest of the hotel has original features and looks fine. It is near the centre of town and the High Street, not far from the railway station (just over half an hour to Edinburgh) and 5 minutes walk from the wonderful museum and Art Gallery. This has a great collection of paintings by William McTaggart and Samuel Peploe, John Lavery and jd Fergusson, amongst others - a great Art Gallery for a small town. The Snooker Club nearby and the Wedding Reception being held in the hotel were not a problem and any slight noise from cars arriving and people talking stopped before 1:00 am.
Clean, good breakfast & value for money.
Restaurant was excellent. Food was good - at a reasonable price. Service was outstanding.
Hotel was very good for the price, room clean and tidy and free wifi was real bonus
Standard of room and service
Second stay and found same as first, very friendly and attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Food excellent. On both occasions same person insisted on smoking in public areas.
I liked the staff they were friendly and courteous. The window didnt shut properly and the shower was cold. The walls were very thin and so I was kept awake by noise coming from neighbouring rooms. Poor value for money
No information in the room. No newspapers to access, eg in bar.
I found the people and staff were very friendly, food was excellent, and the rooms were excellent The noise from down stairs was off putting in some of the rooms we used.
The Hotel was clean. staff were very friendly and attentive. I would use this hotel again if I needed to stay in the area again
Both my wife and I enjoyed our stay in the hotel our room had the windows open when we arrived and there was a terrible smell coming from somewhere so we had to shut them making it very stuffy. As above
Made adjustment for dirty room, desk clerk in morning was very helpful Restaurant staff in evening was rude and inattentive, asked to see menu instead told to sit down outside restauarant. Booked and confirmation for non-smoking room none available upon arrival, given two rooms to choose from one reeked of smoke other one had ashes and gum in the ashtray. Gum on side of nightstand, disgusting.
