nice... relaxing.. clean... good service... friendly staff... Only one staff member spoke in English which was rather bady broken... making it very defficult and makes it difficult to communincate .
I loved the tranquility and the swimming pool.
The staff in the hotel are all pleasant and professional. This was our second visit of the year as we love the quiet location - it is easy to find and yet within range of a lot of tourist attractions. The hotel has a good sized pool. Perhaps a little more variety at the buffet breakfast, (for example, the walnut bread we had on our last day was excellent) would have been welcome as we were there for a week.
Everything. I would recommend it to friends and collegues
Very good hotel. Lovely swimming pool and very helpful staff. Very good value indeed. Not all items were available on menu in dinning room.
This was a great value for the money. The hotel was very modern, clean and the rooms were comfortable. The free breakfast was excellent. The hotel supposedly has wireless internet access but it doesn't work if your laptop has Microsoft Vista. The desk clerk said that was much more difficult and she never could provide information on how to make it work.
This was a lovely hotel with very friendly staff but very quiet when we were there. It made an excellent base to travel to places such as Cordoba Possiblt a bit too quiet
The entire facility, the restaurant, the room, the service, the location, even the town of Cabra No
a wonderful stay. if we were to come this way again, we would stay here and go by car to visit Cordoba, Granada and Sevilla, using this hotel as a base. But don't miss the surrounding small towns! nothing
Excellent stay at the hacienda. Great location and the manager is very friendly and helpful person. His dogs are cute. Breakfast was very sober.
A very quiet and special hotel in a lovely area. The restoration of the old Olive Mill has been very sympathetically executed and it is a long way from a chain hotel experience. The food was superb and beutifully presented. The only "downside" was that the swimming pool was not in use......although I have no doubt it would have been "refreshing" to say the least in October!
Hacienda Minerva is a delightful place to stay. The owners are doing an oustanding job of converting this hacienda into a charming inn. The owners and staff are friendly and the food is great. The surrounding area is beautiful. We will definitely return. We only wished that we had scheduled more time there on our visit to Spain.
The location is superb and there are some wonderful walks on the doorstep. The rooms are comfortable and clean and there is a spacious lounge and interesting library in which to relax. As the hotel has only just been completed the staffing seemed inadequate for the number of guests. We had to wait an hour to check out and the restaurant service was extremely slow. Breakfast was served very late, especially as we had a long driuve ahead and was a very makeshift affair so it was overall not good value for money when we compared it with other hotels on our trip.
The question really is, what wasn't good? We ate twice in the restaurant and the food was absolutely fantastic, each bite and flavor were an experience. Though people indeed only speak Spanish, it's really not a problem at all, the staff is very professional, helpful and nice. It's the perfect place if you want to unwind, relax, and enjoy the fabulous views over hundreds and hundreds of olive trees. Also great pool. Room very clean and thought through while decorating. we read bad comments about the breakfast, but it was pretty decent. nothing related to the hotel itself...you do need to realize that there is really hardly anything around that you can do, unless u like to bike, read, relax or swim....but we might have also picked the wrong small towns around zuheros to visit...
This hotel was excellent. We had a simple but comfortable room with a fantastic view towards Zuheros. The restaurant was top class, good food and good service. They have managed to combine simple rustic charm with real luxury. I would love to go back!
A charming and unique hotel set in a beautiful location. We overnighted there en route from Cordoba to Granada and very much enjoyed the experience. Would recommend that menus be translated into both English and French as several guests didn't understand Spanish and didn't know what food to order. Linguistic skills of hotel staff were also lacking. There was also some confusion about ordering wine during dinner. Breakfast choices were also extremely limited and didn't compare with other hotels. Nevertheless, it was a delightful and enjoyable stay.
The hotel staff were excellent, one of the lady receptionists actually walking to fetch us when we got lost in the old town when we arrived in Priego. The room was spacious and well decorated with good air con (which we needed!), comfortable beds, and a large bathroom with brilliant shower. It was very quiet at night time so we slept well. We thought the breakfast was quite poor for the price of the room- only a roll each and a yoghurt and there was some ham and olive oil. The first morning there were croissants but not the second. There was a bowl of fresh fruit but it was overripe. There was only a drinks machine for coffee etc. I asked for hot water and was told to use tap water and heat it up in the microwave.
Everything was absolutely excellent! From the amazing atmosphere of the Casa, to the staff, the exquisite taste in decoration, the breakfast, the Arab baths, the welcoming spirit! The location is also perfect in the most beautiful neighborhoods of Priego and a short car-ride away from Cordoba and Granada and many beautiful white villages around. We loved the place, we will recommend it to all our friends!
Well located in the old quarter of this fascinating town. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well appointed room and bathroom/w.c. Reserved parking space available outside front of hotel. Very poor self-service breakfast, considering the room price. Better driving directions would assist.
The Arab baths were very relaxing, the rooms clean and atmosphere relaxed. Great place to unwind. The staff were constantly on the telephone.
Comfortable location as a hub for touring Andalusia and the arab baths No
The hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly, it is very quiet and situated in the cetre of the old town of Priego de Cordoba. It is in an ideal situation to explore the beautiful countryside and old villages that are close to the town. Furthermore, Cordoba with it's famous mosque is only an hours drive away. Highly recommended.
Fantastic boutique hotel right in the old quarter of town. Could not be better. The Roman Baths and massage were great and a pleasant end to a day seeing the sights in a wonderful part of Spain. Could not fault anything
Friendly and helpful staff, I was able to park directly outside on a narrow busy street. The hotel warm and welcoming. We had bed breakfast and evening meal for an all in good price. The meal on the evening we arrived was excellent value at 12 euros. The waiter could not have been more obliging
Location and atmosphere
The hotel is in a beautiful location and easy to find. We used t as a transit stay en route from North to South Spain..
quiet surroundings need renovation
Large clean room, restaurant has a good menu at very reasonable prices. Hotel staff helpful and friendly but only speak a limited amount of English. Hotel is located on a fairly busy road and can be noisy. The town of Rute has little to recommend it and the area around the hotel is undergoing development. The room had very poor lighting, apart from two bedside table lights the lighting in the large room was a small wall light with two small lamp bulbs. On four out of seven nights' stay there was no hot water and the bath plug system did not work. Lighting in the bathroom was flashy but not functional. The television only had Spanish channels.
Facilities - ok, helpful staff Did not know where anything was at hotel -no in room info
Location on the edge of the village Probably the wrong time of year to visit the region as most of the facilities were not in use
Pretty surroundings. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Free internet.
Garden and pool are lovely. Little playground was enjoyed by our four-year old. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walk into town. Dinner in the dining room was pretty bad, but the kitchen seemed to be trying its best.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. no hair dryer and no coffee/tea available in the room.
great hotel,clean & comfortable
Reception very friendly. Facilities outstanding. Dinner very good with inspiring personal attention by the waiter. None
The hotel staff was very friendly and gave a hearty welcome. They had a lot of information about the surroundings and possible hiking routes. The rooms were not sound-proof.
Personal service No
We found it a very good location in the country but the sign posting travelling from the Granada side was poor . It was very comfortable and the staff were helpful. We would stay there again. The breakfasts were not that good. Coffee was cold and the croissants were stale.
Nicely furnished, spacious room and bathroom. We arrived on a Sunday when a wedding reception was taking place. The staff were hard pressed and service to the other guests suffered. Also the swimming pool was not available during this time. This hotel appears to specialise in weddings - it's perhaps something to bear in mind. The air conditioning in our room was effective but very noisy.
This hotel was in a very beautiful relaxing area, ideal to chill out for a few days. The 2 hour drive to and from Malaga was an experience in itself with breathtaking scenery. Maybe tea & coffee facilities in the room would have just made it perfect.
It was a wonderful hotel, beautiful and classy. It was my birthday and my son called long didtance from Canada and the manager brought her cell phone into the dining room to find me. Then to top it off,,,she brought in two huge pieces of cake (that was to die4 for , as was the meal) with candles on it and happy birthday written across the plate. Boy...it doesn't get much more special than that. Very thoughtful. We had a wonderful time It was a little difficult to find....out in the middle of no where...but well worth the effort...great place to stay
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Good facilities.
exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, amazing food, beatiful facility
excellent evening meal
Close to a via verde. Fantastic views. No official WiFi
comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant, superb location and views faulty wc cistern, very basic breakfast
The village people for their friendliness and hopitality, also how cheap every thing was. not enough choice for breakfast
Helpful staff, great location and good atmosphere. Information for hiking is detailed and very useful.
Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent chef - our best meals in Spain were there. Charming place. The beds were poor - we could feel the springs through the mattress. Also, they tipped up when you sat on the end of them as the legs were placed too close together - rather disconcerting!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the resaurant was brilliant- really good value for money. A really peaceful location, great for walking and the bat caves are amazing.
Lovely peacefull village, nice to walk in the mountains, hotel has a good kitchen.
Nice village, fine nature, hotels restaurant very good, friendly atmosphere.
Comfortable and value for money
Hotel was nice, everything worked and we were comfortable. Staff goes the extra mile to be helpful. The hotel is solid 2-star in terms of amenities, but the restaurant punches far above this weight. The food and setup were excellent, as was the waitress.
Loved the feeling of isolation - great for those wanting some time out. Food was superb - can't say enough good things about the dinner and breakfast (albeit limited) was tasty. Unfortunately was cold and couldn't use the outside pool but would be great in summer. Nothing for which it was designed.
Fantastic location, lovely staff, really relaxing.
A part of The hotel is runned by gastronomy-students, this means the restaurant and the bar/cafeteria. The reception personell is very friendly and they speak also a bit english. The view over the landscape is beautiful and its very quiet because you have to drive the last maybe 6 km on tarmac/dust road to the middle of nowhere. We liked it because we knew this before. The restaurant food is of a good quality bit expensive but its the only way to eat there. The next village is maybe 10 km away. The junior suite we had was big and good equiped.Overall we enjoyed our stay in this quiet hotel very much and the price on booking.com is a good one !! The hotel guest has to pay for the Spa and this is very expensive, every item you have to pay separate and some are only open on weekends. The outside pool is big but not cosy to lay around. The breakfast is typical spanish just a piece of bread and some paté and marmelade/coffee/juice
All the staff went beyond their call of duty to make sure our stay was perfect. The shower cubicle in the first room we were given was rediculously small, so we were moved to a room with a bath and shower.
Location and very expensive SPA
The signs to get there/directions leave a bit to be desired. Check in was excellent - it set the tone for our stay. Junior suite-excellent. Staff could not do more for you - even tried out thier english!! Food (captive audience) was on the whole excellent, only one course on the second evening was a tad indifferent. I was in the catering trade and know what to look for. As a training hotel I would not fault it. Don't be put off by the 'track' leading to the hotel - it is a doddle. For the superstitious amongst us there was rather too much green for my taste and 'comfort.'
The room was spacious ,clean and comfortable The restaurant and cafeteria are not in the hotel but are 50m away - not a problem usually but it was raining heavily when we were there . The parking is very tight and if your car is at the back you have to wait for the cars in front to be moved before you can get out.We told the staff that we needed to leave early. They said it would not be a problem but did not appear to move the cars until 9.45am
