The hotel's architecture. The resturant was closed on Friday night for the entire weekend. The last thing you want to do after a 10hr drive in July is to go looking for a restaurant.
Very happy with the stay.
Good quality for price. Good for en route stop over. Nice staff. None
Helpful receptionist Bar closed, restaurant closed, didn't like a blanket on the bed
lower level than the average mercure, but good value for money
Location was good for our purposes - attending wedding at Chateaux Lagorce near Langorian No
Excellent friendly staff Nothing an excellent stop over hotel on the way south
It was clean. Recepionist sold us an * euro breakfast ob check-in and said there was bacon and eggs etc. In the morning, no sign of bacon, eggs or the guy that sold us the breakfast. The staff on in the morning denied that he would have told us that. 8 Euros is a con for the breakfast you get. Don't buy it!
On arrival at this hotel the receptionist was very good and very helpful. She spoke far amount of english. She went abouve and beyond her duties. The best part. She help my disabled partner with great ferness. Room was not disabled friendly. There was a massive step to get in the bathroom and no room for the wheel chair to go in the room. My partner had to get on her hands and knees to access the room. This was not as we were told on booking any of our hotel bookings.
Location is ideal for us We've been visiting this hotel more than 3 years on route between Holland and Portugal and in this time not much maintenance seems to have been done, the rooms could use a lick of paint, and a loose metal strip under the bathroom door was potentially dangerous
Free internet connection, however the period of use allowed was short.Close to motorway, allowing quick access to all routes. Room smelt of tobacco smoke,Parking was not secure.
friendly staff no free plug in the room (for instance to recharge a mobile phone)
Friendly, clean, good value, good breakfast Slightly tatty, rooms cramped
The hotel was at a price that was competitive. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was relatively close to the city, maybe 20 minutes, by car. There was no air-conditioning, so the room was hot and stuffy. It's a good hotel, but it's too hot to stay here during the summer. The shower and toilet didnt work great.
Nice hotel, easy to find When arrived couldn`t find my reservation after much searching the receptionist found out that when I had booked with active hotels it was a different server, but I got a room anyway,
very convenient en route hotel nothing
Good reception staff, pleasant & polite restaurant staff. Clean facilities Bar prices too high - 10.50euros for 2 large beers that were not completely full - we thought was excessive & poor value for money
It was close to the motorway and a nice quiet location. Hotel was good and staff friendly. The bar/restaurant does not open Sunday evenings like most of the restaurants in the area
The restaurant meals were excellent. They obviously have a very good chef - for a budget hotel this was very unexpected. We ate at the restaurant for three nights in a row and every meal was top class. The yound waitress was very efficient and helpful. Her wind and food suggestions were spot on. The Manager was also very helpful. The hotel is almost new and the rooms were spacvious and clean. La Brede is a good central location for both bordeaux aiport and the vineyards. Nothing really
The room was clean and the hotel was adjacent to the highway. The hotel was understaffed and was abandoned at check-in time. The room design was impractical - in particular the bathroom. Poorly thought out room design was an annoyance during our stay.
The accommodation and owners were both lovely, they did everything to make us feel welcome. I would recommend it. The only thing was the gravel in the inner courtyard which made it difficult for my partner to walk and to wheel my suitcase across to my room, it would be better if it was a solid surface, also as it was raining it was a little bit messy. Secondly, in the room there was nowhere to put our case and I felt awkward as I had to place it on top of a very nice chair.
The setting. This is a work in progreass hotel.
Very peaceful, luxurious and beautiful walks at dusk. Perfect end to our holiday travelling around St Emilion and Bordeaux reqgion. Perfect location to get to airport with ease, and far enough to experience the tranquility of the area. Beautiful Chateau. ... the weather could have been a bit warmer and less cloudy! Apart from that, perfect.
The chateau was beautifully restored by the owners and they were charming hosts.
It is a peaceful setting overlooking a vineyard. You ar in the country, but in 5 minutes you can walk to the bakery, a restaurant, a brasserie and tourist information. It was quaint, peaceful and full of antiques. Breakfast was included in my room rate and was very good, lots of choices. The staff are very friendly and offer restaurant suggestions in town and a few towns away. There was a terrible rain storm one night and we woke up to 2 inches of water in our room. We were in a room on the main floor on the lowest level. Our hosts were very gracious to move us out to another room and very apologetic. The soil is clay with crusshed rock on top. Unfortunately it rained to heavy and long for the ground to absorb the water.
A quaint hotel with friendly owner situated among vineyards. Large rooms with kitchenette but no restaurant - 3 mins drive. Breakfast included.
The Hotel was Fantastic! Everything was perfect. Breakfast, Bedroom, Garden, Swimming pool. I will stay again and enjoy this beautiful place and service. An early check-in was possible, and we were upgraded to a better room. Stay here if you come to Bordeaux!!!!!!!!!! This is just hotel policy, but 15 Euro for 1h extension of stay is expensive.
Nice enviroment, kind staff and beautiful rooms. Noiseless and relaxed. For those with children there is a new McDonal just two minutes away.
we liked the peaceful atmosphere and cleanliness of rooms and grounds also the pool and facility of bicyclle hire we thought it would be nice if there was a bar or simmple restaurant to enjoy some company of an evening,as there was very little evening activity in the village (tthe local bar was clised)
Village location but close enough to city for visits and meals. An all year round hotel that looked very off season outside. Untidy gardens and stacked up furniture clearly visible.
I accept that it was a reasonable cheap hotel and so i accept it as it was. However having said that, the rooms are understandable small and hard to ventilate for a visitor, and so heating and air conditioning are required as you know. In our case the room 34 was extremely hot and we could not turn the air conditioner down . It needs a service. Otherwise the hotel was as is, a reasonablly cheap lodging. My complaint is definately fixable. Also the range of bread at breakfast is not in keeping with a French Continental brreakfast and very uninteresting. Need a bitof creativity.
easy to reach Much noice from the "rocade" and neighbours
Ideally situated after a long drive to walk to the restaraunts Yes the rock hard beds
Cheap, clean, comfortable bed,air conditioning very good unhelpful staff, decor, location(after 7pm. or on sundays the taxi into town costs over 30 euros)
The location on the ring road meant that there was easy to get to the city and the beaches - good location for what we wanted although traffic noise not good. Traffic noise and shabbyness of room.
The tea and coffee. Extremely uncomfortable and noisy.
Close to restaurants and secure parking The road noise did not stop all night
Late arrival check in procedure. Could of been a little cleaner - had a triple room - found animal hairs all over the top bunk bed sheets and blanket - yak. Would of been nice if there was a vending machine for refreshments and snacks.
It was very easy to find and well located
It was cheap And not too far from the beach and the centre of Bordeaux the room was comfy and the shower was good the air conditioning was a great The fact that we couldn't have a bbq in the grounds and the soap dispenser was mouldy
Clean, basic, good value for money. Rooms are soundproof. Nearby supermarket and restaurants with easy access to motorway & public transport. Not 24 hour check-in which is not a really a problem if you are aware of this before. Receptionist spoke no English not a problem either if you show your booking form.
Close to the highway Employee that is on the evening shift does not speaks anymore languages other than French and is not a nice person.
to rest few towels and some staff only speak French.
Absolutely the nicest hotel we stayed at in our recent visit to France. It was quiet, charming and a nice break from the busy cities where we had been staying. Dominique was such a gracious and helpful hostess. A wonderful place to have a wedding. Also, don't miss the Chateau Camarac just across the street.
Fantastic rooms and fantastic owners - highly recommended
Cery friendly staff Nothing
Location perfect for a short stay, staff superb, very comfortable clean rooms a very enjoyable experience.
Tranquil and very scenic location and nearby excellent restaurant- le Cyprien makes up for fact no diner served.
Atmosphere of this Chateau and room are excellent, wine is also great. We really want to come back to this hotel in someday. Nothing.
The location is great, The bathroom is majestic and the atmosphere is easy and great. well...only the pouring rain...
Location superb, Nicole the administrator was first class - nothing was too much trouble. Room was exceptional Would have been nice to have a bar facility - we did drink superb wine but a regualr bar facility would have been a nice addition
Beautiful surroundings, and beautiful hotel. The room(suite) was very clean, spotless! Very big and relaxing bathtub. Easy access to the town of Sauternes, and Bordeaux. It would be a little more helpful if detailed direction to the hotel was provided. The hotel was not too easy to locate. It would be a little more convenient if a restaurant was available onsite.
The view out the large windows was beautiful - rows and rows of vineyards bursting with luscious grapes! The staff was somewhat aloof and they lost my credit card transaction.
Nice clean spatious room, good breakfast No staff avialable anymore after 7pm, no mini-bar in the room
Superb setting and a beautiful room.
Comfortable be. Charming host. Ideal stopover en route. Conveniently close to motorway.
Owner very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Room large, bathroom super size especially with double sink. Great to have free Wifi. Lovely large comfortable bed. Man made duvet too hot, man made pillow uncomfortable - too over filled and again too hot. No tea and coffee making facilities in room. Couldn't recommend hotel due to man made duvet and pillows.
The friendly staff and food
Outdoor terrace areas were beautiful and the staff were really excellent. At breakfast, everyday something was missing I.E. glasses from the table or no plates at the buffet table, maybe it should be all self service. Breakfast and dinner were a bit overpriced.
Nothing really wrong with this hotel other than it badly needs updating. I believe however, that this is on the cards quite soon.
Peaceful, relaxing location, very good range of facilities, staff very helpful and friendly.
The location, Bazas was beautiful. The hotel is cute, with nice staff, and neatly decorated. The breakfast was expensive, and the service during breakfast wasn't very good.
Relaxing, great pool.
Petit déjeuner Hotel est un peu vieillsant et les chambres sont trop petit, humide, TV tres tres limite
Well-proportioned & furnished with pleasant view over pool garden and nearby town Nothing
Good swimming pool and lovely gardens. Spacious room. Good location in Cadillac. Friendly and helpful staff. It did not have the tennis court that was advertised! The corridors were very dark and gloomy - you had to keep pressing timed switches.
The hotel is very charming and old world. Staff was very nice and friendly. Rooms to my surprise, were spacious and of a good size compared to other French hotels.
Lack of a proper shower. There was only a hand held shower available not a pleasant view from our room
The hotel is well situated onlty a short distance from the autoroute (10 mins) on the edge of a very pleasnt village with excellent countrtside all around and Cadillac had much more to it than we expected. The hotel itself was well appointed, clean and comfortable. We felt that the restaurant menu was a little too limited for our tastes; the "gourmet" dishes were well presented but were very rich and some simpler plainer options would have been welcome.
Location near Bourdeaux and the Wine Area. Carpet old and Decor not French but Far Eastern. Air unit did not cool.
Very kind people and good looking grounds adjacent to the lovely village of Cadillac. Restaurant closed on Sunday - when we were there!
The cuisine was superb and the service was both attentive and charming. My food allergies were addressed with carefully chosen modifications ,not just omitting items. Best wishes to the newly wed chef and his wife and please give Coco a little treat.
Nice rooms & friendly staff. Nice outside terasse and pool. The hotel is om these pages advertised as a "gourmet hotel" which is a bit exaggerated.
The restaurant is good. Rooms are quiet and confortable
Friendly staff / Charm of the Hotel / Lovely breakfast on the terrace Front desk not staffed 24hrs but owners closeby. However, needed to ring owners upon arrival to get into the hotel -maybe offputting for possible clients without reservations, Not really a problem for us but more an observation for owners to maybe take into account.
The room was good and well equipped and staff lovely. Stairs could have been difficult for people with limited mobility. Sofa in room was very hard. We had to put up the display at the back of the bed as we kept knocking it with our heads when in bed.
price and size of the room and bathroom Noise as the most expensive rooms face a very busy street
A cozy fireplace, wine made by the owners and a dinner with the owners (made by the owners)and other guests at a common table. Everything was excellent. We had a bit of trouble with understanding each others language, but there was an Englishman who was also a guest who could also speak French.
