The building was a comercial building refurbished. The rooms are very small.Dont have privte parking. The access to the hotel is very difficult by car.Dont have a parking in front of the reception to leave the luggages.
Rooms were smallish but immaculate and the trains were not intrusive for us., and the views good -- we could see the Bay! Location excellent for shopping, rugby at the Millenium Stadium and cultural events at the Millenium Hall and loads of cafes and restaurants within easy walk. Breakfast buffet good value and several Hen parties didnt cause any problems /noise. A great weekend, and Wales won!!!!
Good breakfast It would appear we paid above the normal rate due to a Rugby International, which we were not there for
A modern hotel close to everything. Well maintained and a friendly staff
Good location at fairly competitive rates. Staff were efficient helpful and pleasant.Comfortable and warm room. the price of bar drinks especially the higher quality ones was excessive.
very comfy beds nice size room. shelving was very dusty above the tea and coffee , dust on window sill and tops of draws . noise pollution from club till past 3am we were at the back of the hotel
The location of the hotel is very good and in the city centre, Near the shops and studuim. Hotel was very expensive and room was not an executive room as we paid for. Its a lot of money for a small double room with a view of a brick-wall and air-coniditioning pipework, No Bathand tiolet was rubbish aswell
Very nice hotel, great location, great service Tv awkward to work!
Excellent location for shopping and very good breakfast On Friday there was a party and it was a bit noisy
Everything. It is a beautifully refurbished hotel offering facilities of a very high standard. It is conveniently situated in Cardiff city centre with staff who are extremely professional and most helpful.
Very good service-excellent cuisine-well equipped room. Room rather crowded -not much space to move.
The location was good for our needs.
Very good but slightly expensive.
Close to city centre Lack of parking, all nearby car parks full, including Joihn Lewis. Overheard other guests bitterly complaining about this situation. The hotel is not cheap to stay at, one would asume that an there would be an arrangement in place.
car parking facility was too small. On the first night the hotel carpark was full and we drove for 1 and a half hours to find another overnight one. We had to get a taxi back to the hotel.Simply ridicuolous! We are frequent travellers and have stayed in numerous hotels around the world and in all that time I have never stayed 4 * and not had some kind of biscuits with the tea &coffee facilities which only had a enough milk for 1 cup each in the morning. Long queue of people as we checked in with only 1 desk open even though there was staff present.See trip advisor for comments.
Location, comfort A swimming pool would have been a real benefit
Rooms were lovely with great views over the city.
The hotel was very well situated and very clean and comfortable The service in the bar and the resturant was very poor and very slow due to a severe shortage of staff, we also found the bar very expensive and were being charged different prices every time for the same drinks.
Room had great view, really clean and well kept. Lack of beverages available in room.
Room fab, breakfast / eating area fab, hotel generally nicely laid out and very modern. Queuing at reception to check in. Hotel should have a few more desks / staff ready for when lots of people arrive at once to check in. Probably waited 10 to 15 minutes. The price of the room!!! Very high and had no choice but to pay as attending u2 concert at Millennium Stadium. I think that the hotel would know they would be full and could have perhaps not charged the premium rate to ensure we all returned again. Now we will book up early to avoid having to spend so much money for just one night.
Location and rooms were outstanding. Breakfast well worth the extra cost and very helpful staff. WIFI good. Parking access
The room was lovely, plenty of room and the breakfast was excellent.
Location Thick dust on closet. Poor bathroon/tub design. Mediocre staff. Unwelcoming lobby. Well below other RadissonBlu properties
Despite the contemporary design the rooms are very comfortable. I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel room for a long time, which was a pleasant surprise considering I spend a couple of nights a week in hotels on business. The hotel seems to be in the middle of refurburbishment at the moment (November 2010) so access to the hotel is confusing and doesn't initially inspire confidence in the forthcoming stay.
The location was perfect, in the heart of the city, easy access to all places of interest, and only a few minutes walk from the train/bus station.
Nice to pampered and having a short break Going home
I liked the room it was comfy although it took a while to work out how to work the heating so woke up very cold the first morning. The heating confused me and I couldn't find instructions
Very average hotel and certainly not value for money Located bewtween two busy pubs, no cooked breakfast served after 09.30hrs, rooms small
Good friendly service
Air conditioning vent (ceiling) was leaking water on to the floor. This was a highly dangerous situation. A slipon this could have proved very serious. It did mean having to turn it off and open the windows, which of course led to a great deal of noise from outside.
the location, the breakfast and the chap showing guests in for breakfast I didn't like the room it was very dark with the smallest window I have ever seen (which wouldn't open) also didnt like how long it took for reception to deal with a problem that we had with our bathroom after 1/2 an hr of waiting I had to go down to reception myself
Nothing Poor customer service overall
I like this hotel everything was perfect, location, staff, room
Comfortable room The main bar/lounge was closed, only the small bar with limited seating in the reception was open. Ranked against other similar hotel chains breakfast was not as good.
Staff friendly manner Only one roast on a Sunday lunch!!!
The leasure facilities were very good. and the location was excellent. The menu for the resturant was not very good and expensive when compared to the room service menu.
Room service meal was good Too many extras, especially breakfast.
Great quality and brilliant friendliness. Gave us late checkout no problem, which was a big help. Awesome massage Showers and some other things int he gym were not same quality as the hotel. Got a Double room instead of twin as booked.
We found the staff to be courteous, efficient, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally placed, within easy walking distance shopping centers, attractions & the Millenium stadium. Would recommend to others as a base to explore Cardiff from. There were only 2 things that I didn't like about the stay, firstly the price of a drink in the bar was excessive at £7.45 for a G&T. Secondly the breakfast was excellent apart from my husband complaining that his baked beans were "like bullets, they were that hard", but that was the only criticism.
lounge trashed by wedding party, bad language used by wedding party, behaviour of wedding party. left to run riot.
The friendly staff and clean room all in a very central location.
relaxing in the bar during the evenings. the staff were warm and welcoming and it had a great atmosphere there was a fire drill just after we checked in and we were left standing outside in the cold for over half an hour, leaving our coffees and lunch in the lobby bar. :-(
Well managed hotel and, for my part, in a good location for access to the Millennium Stadium. Facilities within the hotel were excellent. The availability for parking was a bonus as this wasn't available with other hotels in the same area.
large bedroom air conditioning did not work and no way of opening windows therefore extremely hot! 2 false fire alarms during the night meant we got little sleep
Perfect location for city centre.
It is a very comfortable hotel, located conveniently downtown Cardiff. A room was large and comfortable, nice bed. Hotel has good restaurant; breakfast which was included was delicious. We once also had dinner at the hotel , it also was very good. Staff was polite and helpful.
The size of the room was amazingly big and the beds were very comfortable, I would highly recommend staying on the twelve floor as the views are amazing The fire alarm sounded early Sunday morning, not a good wake up!!
The large clean bedrooms and friendly staff. The snack food also seemed good value. Car Park was a bit tight
nothing in particular, it was ok the showers in pool changing room & the fact there were no cubicles to change in
The room was very good apart from the huge crack running through the outer glazing of the picture window! Fantastic views across the city. Very busy because of the Autumn rugby international Wales v New Zealand. Long delay during check out with only two staff on duty one of whom had to answer the phone and take a booking! She then proceeded to chat to a member of staff going off duty. A small niggle but becoming more prevalent among some hotel gropus is that on weekends they don't supply mushrooms with the breakfast menu. Still charge the same price though - £15.95! A con.
The reception staff were rude, discourteous and looked like we were intruding by staying there and asking them to rectify an issue with the room (i.e no hot water and no water pressure in the room). After chasing this issue up, we were finally moved to another (lower standard room) at 1.30am in the morning, which clearly didn't add to a relaxing stay at the hotel!!!
Closeness to city centre Only able to check in 2 minutes before stated time
Good location, nicely laid out - spacious bar and restaurant. We were given a disabled room, with a seat in the very small shower that wouldn't fold. Britains Got Talent auditions were being held there in the morning, the hotel should have made me aware of that - I booked six months in advance. Very expensive considering quality and facilities. Poor car parking facilities.
It was only recently re-opened so everything was new as it had all been done out. Everything was very good quality and beautifully done. They were very helpful and even booked us a taxi. The breakfast was excellent too. Would recommend it and would stay there again. Nothing
very nice people and quiet grace fitment, great location and also great breakfast..love that^^^^^
Our stay at the Dexby was lovely & I would definitely look to stay there again next time I visit Cardiff. The rooms had obviously been recently refurbished and everyone was very welcoming. All in all, our stay was lovely and as it was only around 15 mins walk from Cardiff City Centre, everywhere was easily accessible.
Very welcoming and obliging. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
very modern and clean room and stunning bathroom. Very helpful landlady who recommended somewhere to eat in the evening.
Pleasant host Totally overpriced and exploited clients during the Ryder Cup
Staff polite. Beds clean, room tidy Bad smell coming from the bathroom in the room and worse smell from the toilets in the bar
Comfortable room Floor boards exremely noisy- squeaked under every footstep -weird!
I found the management to be extremely nice and helpfull, and in general a very upbeat and frindly attitude None
Very welcoming staff, were happy to help and give ideas on what to do in the area. The room was a nice size, great size bathroom and everything was clean and tidy. Beds comfortable, nice big towels. Handy having the spar across the road and easy, convenient parking directly opposite hotel entrance. Some people may think the decor etc is ugly and old, but we thought it just gave it a bit of character.
Very good hotel, cheap with friendly staff Checking out on Sunday was a bit difficult as we had to wait in reception for someone to get to the desk for about 10 minutes
Rooms are very nice and beds are very clean too. Staff is very helpful in guiding and travel planning etc Room is very clean, Bathroom is very clean but there is a kind of bad odour in bathroom.
Great shower, ideal location for our visit to Caerleon. Manager was friendly, helopful and informative. Our room was warm, spacious and clean. We had been put off beforehand by guest reviews on the internet but it was too late to cancel our trip. Our experience was much better than expected from the reviews. Some of the comments by other guests were helpful and others were unfair. We found TV reception poor.
No room service available
convenience for cardiff bay, parking facilities included in room rate suite was extravagantly large - could have been better utilised as a single and a double room
Large rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, air conditioning, very clean. No
The room and view was excellent I think it would have been nice for breakfast to be included in the price
Everything ... it was wonderful!
Comfortable and helpful staff
the staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was lovley we found the room cold.the price of breakfast was very expensive for people who just wanted some toast and tea
freindly staff, helpful, the halls and corridors were clean and luvlly and warm. the temperature was -6 at night and 0 day time, so the room was freezin, the heating system does not work well, did ask reception, but the temp 28 did not seem to blow out hot air. we had to put the bath towels on top of the duvet and slept with extra clothes on. i think with better heating yr hotel would be very good. cannot recomend this hotel at moment until yr heating system is improved upon.
Nice light rooms with good facilities.
Comfortable and all of the rooms we booked were near each other. Cost of breakfast is high considering the room prices are also high due to the rugby game.
Very well looked after thank you - really good breakfasts!
The B&B Is spot on excellent clean rooms with excellent service.
Friendliness of staff
Helpful friendly staff. Good breakfast. Not having a restaurant means having to go elswhere to eat evening meals, as a business customer that's a bit of a nuisance.
informal and friendly atmosphere nothing
Rooms were clean and modern and the breakfast was good No hot water at 6.00 in the evening. No access to the hotel when we arrived on Saturday afternoon (having been told that the earliest check in was 2.00 we were surprised to find a note on the door at 3.00 saying " back in one hour"). We found somewhere to have a hot drink at the nearby national park but had quite a lot of time to kill which was not ideal after a long journey.
Very clean bedroom & bathroom, in fact pristine. Good sized bedroom and en-suite, well laid out. Very neutral, tasteful decor. Very comfortable bed. Excellent parking facilities. Beautiful rural location. Excellent breakfast. There was nothing I disliked about the guest house. I selected the guest house for the location. I would have preferred a hotel with lunch & dinner on the premises.
breakfast was brilliant could n't get telly to work on 2nd night.
The staff were always willing to help.Very professional.
Polite helpful reception staff
The hotel room and bar area were pleasant and airy. Hotel was busy given the international event in town but the staff still found time to answer my questions. Room heating was awful. From one extreme of freezing to unbearably hot due to the type of heating system being unable to find middle ground.
It was booked by mistake due to not realising that there was more than one Radisson Hotel in Cardiff. We were going to the CIA and booked hotel because we believed it was next door! However, used taxis back and forth. Hotel staff very helpful with booking taxi. Rooms modern and perfectly good for a one night stay. We had no complaints regarding actual hotel other than it was in the wrong place!!!! (My fault entirely!) Bar was closed on return to hotel. (midnight) Several staff in reception and it would have been a nice gesture if they had offered to open the bar for us to have one drink. Also, cleaning staff were very noisy in the morning considering the rooms did not have to be vacated until 12.00pm.
although the staff were very helpful when we asked for things, the extra customer service care was just not there. We had expected that little bit extra, to show that the customer in a hotel is what the staff's priority should be.
pool facilities for the children food was not very good Breakfast should not be could hours before on mass well that was` the impression
close to city center
Although the heating was not working in our room the staff were quick at providing a s-pare radiator I found thr room and corridor very cold. The heating did not work to start off.
The staff were friendly and the beds comfortable. The rooms were of a decent size. We booked 2 rooms and my parents room had no hot water at all. However, they did get back some money for this inconvenience. There was a lot of noise late at night from other guests on our floor. The hotel is very tired looking and needs refurbishment. The breakfast was uninviting, not very well laid out and a poor choice compared to other hotels I have stayed at. The service at the table was poor.
Facilities were clean and functional. Room and bed were comfortable. Quiet and restful. Breakfast was excellent. Apart from evening meal and tv, nothing to do.
Error with reservation (see below) quickly resolved. Good food. We are regular users of hotels and found this one very good. On-line reservation system wasn.t clear enough to allow booking of a room for 2 adults and a young child.
Good service of staff None
Price, cleanliness, comfort Aircon switches itself on in the middle of the night once you've switched it off. Restaurant forgot our order in the evening and the breakfast was not as good as other Premier Inns
i went for mrcp exam and spent three nighs, comfotable and staff very helpfull, it was more a less nice stay.
A lovely clean room with a very comfortable bed, and powerful shower. Plenty of space provided in the room. None
Offer of cot for baby although not reserved ammendment no problem offer of help as arrived alone with baby and many bags Hair on the floor of the bathroom
Clean, well facilitated room for three including a child. Good price and value for money in hotel and eateries.
Conveniance plus excellent restaurant. Very comfortable bed & friendly staff n/a
Staff served meals quickly and efficiently Lighting in bedrooms. Side lamps and over head lamps not powerful enough. Green is good but there are more effective brands of bulbs. Difficult to work in low light levels
The location was superb. Parking onsite at a reasonable cost. Thought that the rooms were a bit dated. The windows were very 'shaky'a and due to the location there was quite a lot of noise at night.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for shopping in the city and near bus routes around the city to see the sights. Would definately book again. Parking not bookable and limited but staff made every effort to help. Double glazing in the rooms would cut down traffic noise which is unavoidable in a city location.
Central for everything, lovely hotel
We ordered room service, from a choice of 4 main courses we were told 3 were not available, we ordered what was available it was practically inedible and expensive.
The waiter was extremely helpful, he couldn't do enough for us The prices in the bar and restarant, too over priced
The room charge was low so value for money in that respect The room needed to painted and brightened up as did the bathroom. It had the air of being a bit 'tired'
Breakfast being charged at £13.50 a head is an out & out joke, for this reason alone we would never go back, but also to be charged £5 a day car parking as well
Central location Air con unit stuated right outside bedroom window to therefore very noisy during the night--also wedding function taking place so was loud music till 1-00am on the sat/sun.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The Angel is a great location for visiting Cardiff within walking distance of most things and an inexpensive cab ride from the Bay. The Angel is a happily eccentric building, but becoming a bit shabby at the price. Breakfast was bland in flavour, but efficiently served by friendly waiting staff.
The freindliness of the staff, amenities, location and overall ambience of the Hotel. I could not fault the hotel or staff and will definitely use this Hotel again.
the reception staff went out of their way to help us - such a pleasure and in such lovely surroundinds the signing was not great and the access off the main road was quite scary
Access to sports facilities and swimming pool made it very relaxing
My family enjoyed the breakfast and the swimming pool. The restaurant was a bit too expensive especially as there was four of us as a family.
The receptionist Olivia was really helpful and made us feel very welcome.Facilities and food were really good. There was a horrible smell in our room - 37. We put up with it becuase the hotel and facilities made up for it.
The nearness to St Mellons. Other then that nothing No mention is made of this hotels popularity for weddings.
The leisure facilities It is a very old fashioned hotel, but perfect for older couples and for wedding guests when used as the venue.
we had a family chalet. it was clean tidy well kitted out and private.it was a short walk from the main hotel bit it is through beutifull grounds.i would recomend this hotel to anyone going to the cardiff area.it was about a 15 minute drive to the city centre.the only down side was the lack of a view from the room.
Pleasant staff and good hotel situated in its own grounds
helpfulness of the staff
location, cleanliness, value for money. queue for breakfast and then poor selection due to inability to keep up with demand.
Proximity to cia The rooms were cold during this cold weather. could do with an extra blanket on the bed
It was a very short visit, butthe room was lovely and the late check-out time was ideal All good
A very very clean and bright warm and comfort at the top of the list. Could have a bigger public areas.
close to the stadium
The Hotel was clean and welcoming breakfast excellent and healthy, the staff were all very polite, helpful and friendly. Have stayed before and would recommended it no
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and very clean.
room size was good, staff were very friendly
all the above n/a
The Location, only a minute away from the city centre & right by the Castle & Bute Park. Also every easy to get to.
The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely friendly.
Location was perfect as we were going to the Milenium Stadium. Easy to find and ideal having parking on site. Close to all the shops and Castle.
I like the service, breakfast, free drink (as priority club member), promotions spilled out rather than hidden, fleibility to cancel and rebook my room with pleasure (It was a big problem for Novotail London by Accor group & they charged me 130 pounds for nothing) These people are good and I will go again. They gave us the park view (Best view). Small room (hotel was fully booked so no chance to upgrade) The bed was just enough for one person as booked. I don't mind small rooms when service level and respect are high.
It was central and close to all the places we wanted to visit and was easily found from the motorway. No biscuits on the tea and coffee tray.
Staff was very friendly helpful Located at the back of the Hotel was the football stadium which was quite noisey in the early morning.
The front desk staff was responsive. The location of the hotel is a plus. The flush wasn't working properly; one has to flush 2-3 times before it worked. There was music from bar downstairs, which I could hear till ~12:00. This affected my sleep on the first night. To be fair, I'dn't complained to staff about these two, but I think, they couldn't have done much about the music-from-the-bar-part. Otherwise, the room was quiet, cosy, and comfortable, although small (have stayed in Cardiff at other hotel with bigger rooms for less price). The per night room price was expensive (but could have been because of the Rugby game on Saturday), that's why poor value for money.
city centre location easy to find
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the locataion The fact that we were woken on Sunday morning by workers erecting scaffolding on the outside of the hotel. The noise from the bar next door to the hotel, even though we were on the second floor we could still here it at midnight.
The cottage was lovely. The under floor heating was excellent and the I really liked the decor. We normally eat out every evening but we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the cosy cottage. Location was great if you enjoy rural surroundings with the added bonus of a Tesco and Asda just a 10 mins drive way. The cottage could do with a clean lots of cobwebs.
The owners of the cottage are excellent. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful, wonderful people. Area is quiet, green, relaxed, the house is so cozy, interior is just more than you expecting from the pictures. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and definitely would pick the same place when i go there next time.
Lovely environment. Returned for the fourth time now. The cottage (Glas) represents excellent value for money and is nice and cosy. We always enjoy lighting the log fire burner. There are walks in the local area where we exercised the dog. Richard is a lovely bloke and will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. Shower and kitchen tap were a little erratic but worked fine after leaving them on for a bit.
Excellent accomodation, vith absolutely beautiful views.
I would say that the bed mattresses would have to be changed they are quiet bad to be honest. It would have been perfect to have propper loggs for the fire.
Very homely and comfortable. None
Very warm and remote None
Very pleasant owners. Excellent views over the valley. Good parking off road outside the cottage. Good walks for dog owners and walkers alike. Sat Nav says you have arrived half way up hill when the accommodation is at the top. The actual signs for the cottages are very small and could easy be missed.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel . Our room was huge and also had a sitting / TV area. It was spotlessly clean, well decorated and comfortable.breakfast was very good and so was our Saturday evening meal. They do a curry night on Friday and Saturday - excellent value , choice and taste. It was all washed down with the House red wine which was very good . Nothing amiss.
good room rate. The room was vey hot and we stayed on a saturday night and it was extremly loud and noise outside due to the hotels location but this cant be helped.
Close proximity to centre of town. Poor service from the hotel staff.
It was very central for the trains and buses. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. nothing
handy for town and country side
The location, food, and willingness of all to help. Only thing was the parking and daily charges for parking.
Staff very friendly Bedroom and particularly the bathroom needed some TLC
Size of the room/quality of the bed Old fashioned and a bit of refurbishment would be nice (there were holes on the bottom sheet.
Cenral location A bit dated
Welcoming, warm and friendly. Breakfast was a bit bland as are many hotels these days.
