Excellent sea view, charming building, friendly staff, fine restaurant, romantic village, good location to explore the Cap from Some traffic noise during daytime (but quiet at night)
About nothing to be liked about this hotel except view. Very unhelpful staff and very expensive for what they offer. The hotel is basically a hostel but they ask a 100 E per night. Definitely our worst hotel in Corsica. Also no option to not take breakfast, which is two croissants and costs 14 Euro. This one beats all the uncomfortability of all french hotels.
Wonderful sea view, fish cuisine, motorbike parking You need to walk or drive a mile or so to get to a nice beach
Our room was nice. There was a very beatuful view from our balcony. Location is very good and impressive. Service is good. Unfortunately hotel's staff don't speak English.
The owners are very nice, the hotel rooms are clean and the breakfast was excellent and cheap. There is no secure parking (someone bumped into our car while it was parked in the street in front of the hotel - a very narrow street). The mattresses at least in our room very terrible, they should have been exchanged a long time ago. The television didn't work. There is just one pizzeria in Ulassai (excellent by the way) and when they closed it down we had to drive to the next village to get some food.
friendly staff. excellent view. good food. Bar & resturant not open untill 730pm.
the best cuisine in cap corse (fish soup, fish dishes), familiy atmosphere, great location no
Wonderful sea views from terrace; restaurant reasonably priced given location; quiet at night despite being on main road Beware check-in does not open until 18:00; rather basic continental breakfast
very basic hotel/accomodation but if you are looking for an affordable place to stay on the cap this hotel is a recommendatoin - very good offer regarding the price...! clean, friendly staff, restaurant is OK too nothing (regarding the price)
separate Motorbike parking at fair price (4Eur), good breakfast buffet
The reception staff were extremely helpful and all had some English. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable and had very necessary parking (booking essential). We were en route for Corsica and were able to spend 2 nights in the Santa Maria, Best Western Ile Rousse, another excellent hotel.
Very clean and comfortable and modern. Well maintained. Good value for the price. I liked the hotel very much. However, most of the staff speak virtually no English. Knowing even just a few words of French is helpful.
Big, clean and comfortable room. Hotel is up a fairly steep hill so walking the kilometer to it from town was hot work.
Bathroom was a PVC room like in ships. or like in cheap hotels.
Location, garage, cleanliness. Room was way too hot because air conditioning was not available for unknown reason (no English speaking person in reception).
Location of hotel and nice size bathroom
It was clean and quiet. They gave me a wrong airport-bus-timetable, so I missed the bus to the airport!!! Don´t trust the information the reception gives you. The hotel is located on a hill and too far from the center (if you have luggage).
Comfort and clean. Good breakfast. Excellent service at the desk. Fair price for the room.
Too long distance to center - this was not clearly informed in the information on during booking
Friendly staff. No trouble to change room if not satisfied. Good free beach in 10 min driving. Ok for one night if you driving. It was only one choice. Situated a bit out of the city. Quite hard to find when coming from south.
Recently renovated modern rooms, convenient location for starting the holiday. Friendly and efficient reception. Quiet. The hotel is in a commercial area and not all rooms have a sea view, so this should be requested upon booking.
Classy, tasteful, international--good views and decent coffee at breakfast
It always helps when there is a lift! The finishings and decor are excellent and there is a good choice at breakfast. Sadly our our one disappointment was at our greeting at reception and the following morning when the staff were less than generous with explanations and guidance. Hopefully just a one-off as they had had a large wedding to oversee. It is to be hoped that the site behind the hotel is developed soon (a larger carpark?) as at present it detracts from the value somewhat.
Nice indoor swimming pool, lots of free parking space Difficult to find/reach. Although the hotel is strictly non-smoking, smoking is allowed on the terraces of the rooms (there are even ashtrays!). This means that you may end up with a room smelling really smokey!
good location, friendly, helpful staff, imaginative garden would have been worth paying more for a better room
This was our second stay at Hotel Central and we love it. Love the atmosphere, the decore, the staff are always helpful.
Very close to ferry, easy to find. A touch of the romantic from the small balcony. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful No elevator, had to carry bags upstairs. The bed was too small for two adults. The price of 70 Euro/night is too high for this basic hotel and without breakfast. Very small room.
Small, cute, friendly hotel with no lift. Central and only street parking. Nice breakfast.
Very helpful staff and a sense of welcome. Free Internet access
Good value for the money. Very nicely decorated room. Comfortable (and large) bed. Bathtub. Excellent location, friendly helpful staff. Internet connection not working.
The position is in center of town, very good Air conditioner was really too noisy, impossible to use it, room very little and old with really umcofortable bathroom
Traditional style town hotel close to Bastia's main square and old port. Comfortable enough room and reasonably well-equipped for a short stay. Helpful staff. Noise from traffic - a disadvantage of being in the centre of town. The room might be a bit cramped for a couple for more than a weekend stay.
Staff were extremely courteous and friendly and most helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, tastefully furnished with quality finishes. Cleanliness was superb. Access to rooms on higher floor could be problematic for the elderly or physically disabled as there is not elevator and the stairs are somewhat challenging. Internet access was also not available in room.
The hotel was clean and tidy and in a good state of repair. It also has a nice pool area. The hotel is located close to the picturesque part of Macinaggio. The staff are not especially friendly, breakfast was basic and the room was small. This hotel is vastly over priced for the standard of accommodation!!!
walking distance to the harbour of Macinaggio, yet calm and secluded. Nice terrace
Staff was very kind and helpful, they gave us great advices on what to do in the area.
Nice, comfortable and clean hotel, buffet breakfast not so big and no staff at arrival at the hotel, I guess because of low season (October). Good value for money.
Everything at the hotel is functional. The bathrooms are all modern ad refurbished to a high standard with great power showers.
The stuff is really friendly. It is more like family then employees. The rooms are small and dirty. Everything inside is from 80s. Really you want to spend the dark time only inside. 2 stars maximum.
Friendliness of the staff. The location; a long walk from the town centre, not made clear on the website information.
Very good location, easily accessible by car with parking in front of hotel, nice garden to take breakfeast. Ideal for a short staying after arrival or before departure by ferry. Some rooms even with view on the sea.
People and food very very good. The 4 people room was simply huage and an excellent value for money
The room was damp, cold, dark and the toilet had no seat. We were very disappointed and could not wait to get out of there.
very friendly and helpful staff just a bit noisy in front rooms and farther from the town than expected (a good 30 minutes walk to centre).
Nothing It didn't even have an elevator!!!! It was not clean, with old furniture, away from the city center. And much noise!
Helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable, clean room, good bathroom. Nice atmosphere.
Clean and friendly!
Reception 24h/24 ; near the citadele and the port Parking moto to be payed extra; hotel quite expensive (but average price for the city of Bastia)
Free internet available at the reception and a decent breakfast buffet
The friendly and helpful front desk staff It is difficult to understand how this hotel achieved a 3 star rating. No lift, so necessary for us to hump our heavy baggage up a steep iron staircase of 30+ steps (the only access to the bedrooms). Quiet rear room overlooked a scruffy lightwell and carpark with windows staring into our room. The worst bathroom in memory, incredibly narrow with only 36cms between the front of the handbasin and a cold tiled wall. It was necessary to move to the toilet end of this 'corridor' to permit a companion to get to the smallest shower we remember as only access is through the handbasin/wall 36cm gap. Hotel closes 2300hrs, no restaurant . At least the aircon did work.
The hotel is very nice, clean and confortable. Each room has its own distinctive theme (ours was travelling in a baloon). It is located minutes walk from the railway station and the bus station, 10 minutes walk from the old city.
The pool was nice and the room spacious and clean
Good location in Bastia - nice modern hotel with good staff Bathroom not 100% clean but O.K. Shuttle bus in morning was not frequent enough - we had to get a 6am bus (which was then replaced by taxi which we had to wait until 6.30am sitting on our packs - time which we would have rather been in bed!- We had to get up at 5.30am) for a check in time of 8am. Noisy during night with traffic etc.
Very well located for acces to Ferry Terminal and Train Station.
Convenient location, efficient staff Breakfast buffet not great for the price
the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful even though there was a language barrier the room had a bathroom odour
Freindly and flexible staff. great location. No dining room
I was impressed by the friendly and helpful receptionist (male) who helped to carry my bags to my room and explained where to go in the evening. I was also awoken with a knock on my door. The general decoration was very pleasant and it was helpful to have breakfast ready at 6.30am. The room felt quite small.
Very nice and helpfull staff,Sylvie was particularly helpfull and always very pleasant. The front desk staff spoke english and a bit of spanish and were very tolerant of my poor french.I only had their buffet breakfast once and it was quite good. If you are a heavy eater it is worth the 10 € otherwise you can get a lighter breakfast for less just down the street from the hotel. Great location for sightseeing, easy access from the ferry docks. Quiet and safe nieghborhood.Spiral staircase is charming but not great for lugging suitcases. no complaints
Lovely hotel with exceptional garden and setting with sea view. Incredible breakfast. Exceptional price/quality Absolutely nothing.
Cleanliness. Friendliness of staff. View from room. No evening meal available
The hotel is in a beautiful location, room was excellent with a lovely balcony and view over the garden
Excellent location, nice view (we had balcony over a beautiful garden + sea), good location near Bastia (accessible even by foot in less than 20 min or by car in about 10 min to City Center); quiet enough to ralax, nice pool A little more attention to small details regarding furniture (rather old) for a 3-star fairly expensve hotel ... but just a detail, not a deal-breaker anyway!
Very attractive Hotel in peaceful surroundings. Room was spacious, bright, well equipped and with a private terrace. Excellent views from the room/terrace over the gardens and olive trees to the sea beyond. Good base to visit Cap Corse. The shower over the bath was hand held.
i loved the 70's déco!!!! very cool
they had a room, I ran through a number of places before I found a room. that was the most important consideration.
The location is beautiful and the staff very friendly particularly one lovely girl on reception who advised us and organised taxis for us. lovely pool area and an easy taxi ride to the old Port
poor location - without car you cannot go anywhere, swimming pool is small like a bathtube and closed in the evening, poor breakfast for good money
very nice and comfortable room, beautiful garden, friendly staff no shades for room windows - in the morning you get all the sun in the room.
A welcoming hotel with the atmosphere of a family-run enterprise and yet very efficient. Lovely pool and gardens, pleasant and courteous staff, clean and comfortable, good food. Very convenient for Bastia airport, but without any of the aircraft noise or depressing atmosphere of typical airport hotels. None
We made the reservation to the hotel according to the photos and location, and we got placed to another building of the hotel, which was not far fronm the original reservation, but they did not have pool, and the comfortness of that building was wuite fair...
Location on the road to the Airport. Very large room with balcony. Staff were very unfriendly.
The evening staff were very friendly and it was easy to find after a long day of travelling French breakfasts aren't large but this was not at all generous, and the breakfast staff weren't very helpful
Very convenient to airport, cute rooms.
Staff was very kind and service was excellent. Better aircondition and possibility to dry clothes and towels.
beautiful and well kept hotell in a not so beautiful surrounding. We booked late and had fewother options, but we were very satisfied with our stay. Great food, garden and Swimming pool. You will need a car to get around.
Hotel was near to the airport
We liked the combination of closeness to the airport, where one expects characterless international hotels, with the individual charm and excellent food. No
Nice swimmingpool, nice people. no
It was a great, relaxing holiday hotel. Restaurant by the sea edge is lovely, although the service is very slow. Pool nice, even though they didn't always have towels. Bed had a plastic sheet on which was very uncomfortable until we realised and took it off. The service at the restaurant was really very slow indeed.
Large, quiet rooms overlooking the sea. Nice pool and location. Convenient for Bastia, yet all the feel of being out of the centre and by the sea. We did not have breakfast in the hotel, as we noted previous comments that breakfast was expensive for what it was - and this seemed the case.
nice hotel, pool, sea, parking.
The position of the rooms which all have wonderful views from balconies overlooking the sea.
Very stylish hotel with its own spirit, original disign and convenient location. All rooms boast seaveiw. Proximity to the sea, a swimming pool and a small beach create relaxing and romantic atmoshere. The only drawback was the absence of a green tea in the bar (though not a great deal especially taking into consideration that we were provided with a kettle of hot water to prepare whatever tea we wanted). Recommended
Very nice, quiet seaside hotel north of Bastia, Corsica ... about twenty minutes from the airport. Our family celebrated our last night on the island with an afternoon of swimming and an excellent dinner on the patio, overlooking Capri and Elba.
The views from the rooms are magnificent. The restaurant ajoining the Hotel is also wonderful.
Everything was well organized and there was no level of stress from check in to departure
Fantastic unrivalled seaview from room. Enjoyed watching sunset from balcony. Access to beach from hotel! Breakfast wasn't included in price -expected that for the amount we were paying for the room. Bit of a walk out of Bastia.
Fun location in a small fishing on the tip of Corsica, lots restaurants near by and great scenic drives. Rooms were clean, modern and fairly priced. Wifi was free but only worked in the lobby.
Good location. Car parking very close to hotel. Very quiet. Good choice of local restaurants. Lovely holiday. Will come back.
We liked hospitality, attentiviness of the hotel owner. He made wonderful atmosphere of sweet home. Thank him very much!
Nice looking room, lots of parking space in marina (late September) Would not recommend option "sea view without balcony" - rooms under the roof with very very small windows. Would not recommend these options for disabled too - even there is a elevator, you still need to go nearly two floors on foot.
Great location - breakfast on terrace overlooking the sea, room modern and comfortable, plenty of parking close by and good value.
did not like location near gas station and on the main road - kind of noisy place.
confortable room with sea view balcony breakfast not included in room rate
Very close to beach
Everything was very well, the place, the room and the welcome.
The Hotel is situated in a quite area 2-3 minutes walking distance from the port of Macinaggio, which is a small and cousy place to stay if you want to enjoy the untouched nature of the island. The personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. It is the best welcome ever. The hotel is a famliy business and it has both residence/appartments and rooms. We had a very nice and big residence which was airconditioned, had a nice and big terrace from which we could see both the mountains and the sea. The living was very big and had a small flat screen TV (it was very important during the World Cup). The bathroom was big and very clean. Towels were changed every day. The site of the hotel is very clean and and nice (with plenty of flowers). Everything was great so there is absolutely nothing negative to report. An amazing place to go and it is worth the money we paid.
very nice and frinedly personnel, great geographic situation, large room and nice terrace. The hotel is certainly not brand new but was fine, I found it expensive for what it was but to behonest the price was consistent with the prices of other facilities we have been to during our holyday -it is just that in high season Corsica is extremely expensive!!!-
