Neat and clean budget hotel, friendly staff, fantastic restaurant!!!! Great location in the centre of town, however not much to do in the area, only wineries. Was a bit noisy at night due to the restaurant downstairs.
Excellect hotel to stay and explore the surrounding countryside
good. The breakfust can be better.
Fabulous dinner in the hotel restaurant Lugging bags up two flights of stairs
Cuisine was of high standard, Room was excellent and Staff were very understanding when my wife was unwell
Extremaly kind and friendly staff!!, Gorgeous location,
really good food and very friendly service n/a
The owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a cottage and felt very private. The restaurant is quite good. The location is great for exploring a good deal of Provence - Vaison La Romaine, Cote de Rhone, Avignon, etc. Also, private, safe parking. Not at all. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
Pleasant proprietress. Attractive rooms. Elegant restaurant which we couldn't sample as it was the obligatory day off on the Wednesday. The availability of lounge area with mini-bar and the pool, neither of which we had time to use, unfortunately. Early-morning traffic noise if you prefer an open bedroom balcony-door to the air-conditioning.
A delightful place to stay in the Rhone wine region. Wonderful evening meal. Confusing to find the hotel as it was behind the restaurant
The appearance and hotel part of the property had quite a good aspect and the restaurant was reasonable in quality and cost. The Manager was firendly and pleasant. however the rooms out the back had a peculiar and strong smell, perhaps anti cigarette spray and the room was very small, the bathroom even worse and layout terrible. The rooms were very noisy being on the edge of a busy road so was not a good choice for a 4 night stay
The Auberge proprietress was a charming lady who spoke excellent English. She gave us advice about a planned visit to Orange and also advised on inital routing at departure. We had dinner on the terrace of the Auberge looked after by an attentive staff and enjoyed an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The bedrooms were air con which was particularly helpful on arrival, hot and flustered. It is hardly a bad point but there was a side gate out of the property which would have given access to a pavemented area into the village. It was only opened to allow staff into the site. It may have been locke for safety/security reasons but we did not like the idea of walking down the road after dinner toward the village which we would like to have done
Made to feel very welcome, room small but Air Conditioning excellent as the day was very hot. Restaurant excellent, small outside terrace surrounded by shady trees.
Excellent meals were served in a beautiful dining room. Both the proprietor and waitress did an excellent job. There was a good choice of local wines.
friendlyness of personnel, english spoken , very nice dinner, very nice contact with the owner. Hotel is easy to find with all the signs pointing the direction
The authenticity of this Chateau was excellent. Enjoyed our tour by the reception staff. Very tranquil setting. Restaurant prices are very high.
The restaurant was excellent. The view overlooking the valley was beautiful. The sitting room/bar are had a lovely ambience. Checking was difficult as the receptionist did not speak English but we managed OK.
Wonderful location in middle of Cotes du Rhones wine region. Beautiful, comfortable rooms in a building full of history. Price of breakfast.
The extra cost for evening dinner offered in the dining room was beautifully prepared and served - staff very efficient and polite. The advice from the reception staff upon departure was invaluable - enabling us to see much within the local area, also courteous and helpful. One of our main reasons for booking the hotel was the swimming pool - however when we asked about it we were told that it was not in use due to the recent weather - however when we venured in the grounds of the chateau - it appeared by the negleted state of the area and masonry that the pool had not been in use for some considerable amount of time.
The hotel is very unique as the chateaux is a real gem. They gave us a very nice room with a view. The gourmet dinner and the wine were excellent for the price the hotel charged. The good breakfest was included in the rate, which became unusal in france now. The driveway to the chteaux was closed, but they helped us with the parking of the car. The heating system in the room did not work well and it was cold.
beautiful building and village/ setting. great food
This ia a beautiful Chateau , and i would recommened it highly . Agnes and Anna at reception made us feel most welcome .The room we had was wonderful with 4 poster bed , it was extreemly clean and well equipped. The restaurant was good but quite expensive so we could not eat in every night. We stayed for 8 nights but maybe if we go again 3/4 nights would be better. the swimming pool was cold but it was end September.
The room, service, and food were fantastic!
Exelent romantic Chateau/hotel for relax and confort and enjoy. Staff is giving real good service. Nothing
The staff were superb! The Chateau is luxurious and perfect for treating yourself for a night away. Be sure to have dinner, Food and service were both A+
Excellent service in peaceful surroundings with a superb menu.Room 7basic,(e.g. hairdryer non functioning, and drainage in shower caused flooding)but quite adequate
Very professionally run hotel with outstanding restaurant. There is a garden and pool. Easy access to touring the vineyards of the southern Rhone.
We like to stay in a gourmet place - the hotel is ok but the restaurent and the food is fantastic
Building was an old mill which has been well converted. As weather was good ate all meals in open courtyard under trees, which had expensive feel with good tables, directors chairs, canopys and shrub filled urns. Although hotel is in village and 5 miles from town car (hire) is essential. The open air restaurant was in front of hotel, sometimes diners can be heard quite late. As a top gourmet restaurant the food is expensive, especially with strong euro, e.g.min. £100 per night for 2. But one has choice to eat outside the hotel, although there is limited choice locally.
Helpfulness of staff
Fantastic location and views Service was a bit half hearted on occasions. Steep climb both to the hotel and within the hotel to the terrace.
The location , the staff and the food. The room was fine but minimal-less comfort than the quality of the restaurant would suggest but also was correctly priced
Nothing. Glass floor with a look at the cave. Staff could not help with internet connection (Internet had been stated on web). We never got it in fact. Poor English. No electricity sockets in the room. Fortunately we always have a t connector and used the fridge socket. Hotel is positioning itself as a gastronomical one but nothing exciting except the prices. We had a strong feeling of being overcharged for at least 30% for meals. Breakfast (very poor one): price was different from the published on Web. On the web it was 10/person they have charged 15. Robbery.
I got food poisoning from their dinner. Ironically the dinner was delicious
Absolutely superb hotel staff....could not be more accommodating or pleasant. The location is quite central in Provence, the chateau setting enchanting, the suite we stayed in and the restaurant were beautiful and excellent. One should be forewarned that the room suites are NOT in the main building but across a busy road and that some are up three flights of stairs.
Full of character and we chose a menu with different wine for each course which was lovely.
Beautiful old Chalet. Great experience and recommend it if you want something unique and beautiful. Nice people that own it as well. Needs wifi.
The rooms were nice and confortable, and the dining room was beautiful. It has a restaurant with good menues. The room smelt because of the humidity.
It was an traditional hotel with very nice people.a good place to stay. not far from orange en avignon little bit a poor breakfast whithout meat.
None i the staff spoke fluent English
We loved the Chateau martinet - the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and we dined each morning on their lovely terasse. Good size pool too. Our room was right next to a busy road, so it was a bit noisy.
Except for the distraction of the flapping door to the kitchen, the food was excellent. Other than that this no longer is a three star hotel Upon entering the lobby we were greeted by three aging and smelly dogs whose favourite sleeping place was the lobby. One of said dogs regularly patrolled the dining room looking for handouts. The carpet in our room was alive with (fortunately) non-biting bugs.
A lovely family run hotel in beautiful setting. Good food and spacious room. The owners reduced my room rate when they realised I was travelling alone Very close to main road. You had to cross the road to get to my room and pool was poorly maintained.
