Pros: the breakfast was great only wished we were there for dinner, menu sounded good.it was convenient to where we wanted to go.
Cons: no complaints.
Pros: Great people excellent breakfast. Charming place
Cons: Black sediment came out of shower/bath and we weren't able to utilize either all weekend- plus we paid extra for the jet tub room and couldn't even use it. Had multiple flying bugs in our room that I had to kill. Also, the bartender lied to me and said he would send the beers to my room and then made up a story to the inn manager that we had a misunderstanding and could only do it if he wasn't busy. Overall, not worth the money
Pros: Owner and staff are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Will stay again the next time we are in the area.
Pros: Always a great stay! Clean rooms, beautiful grounds, awesome breakfast and pet friendly!
Pros: People were lovely. Restaurant food was fantastic. Very authentic hotel. Really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Beds were quite hard. Plumbing needed updating.
Pros: Property, hotel and restaurant are awesome. Stuff also. Highly recommend
Pros: Purling is a rural hamlet at the foot of the Catskill Escarpment close to excellent hiking and other outdoor activities. We attended the East Durham Irish Festival and toured the local sights. We enjoyed the Bavarian Manor setting, the décor, walking on the property, excellent restaurant and friendly staff, excellent service. It is a "green" facility: solar water and electric.
Cons: Suggestion: bring a physical map of the area because our cell phone connection was unreliable (used Google Maps). Internet service for this rural area is not reliable, as well (great place to disconnect and relax).
Pros: The food and bar are awesome / classic German staples served w an old world French gourmand twist, the staff are great, the location, the historical nature of the place and old world interior design...quiet
Cons: Restaurant is pricey for German food in the area but very well prepared and HUGE portions. The rooms are small and a bit old fashioned (very clean though) but thats just how it is up in that area... Beds could be updated.
Pros: Breakfast was included and very good, fresh ingredients and rich! Even the restaurant for dinner had a good selection and what we ordered was tasty and fresh. Staff was friendly and available
Cons: The smell of the water from the shower was terrible. Overall, the place is nice but could be much more if some details were repaired and taken care of, just because the building is a little bit old and needs some maintenance.
Pros: Very amiable staff, met all our needs.
Cons: Can't think of anything. Had an amazing time.
Pros: Older, but lots of character and history
The Winter Clove Family Inn is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city.
Pros: I really liked everything. I came here probably 38 yrs ago with my Grandparents and wanted to see it again. I enjoyed walking the trails to the waterfall. I loved the porch and the bar area. Drinks were reasonably priced. It is a great meeting point for families. There's so much to do, and yet nothing to do! Very relaxing!
Cons: The door was locked to go into the bowling alley. I wanted to buy a souvenir at the store. Every time I wanted to go in, it was locked.
Pros: Location, Freindly stafff, Great nature,
Cons: 1.When you book the room online they don't tell you thay you have to pay additional fee for each child. When I booked the room online the price was $259.00 (tax included), but at check out I had to pay $375.00(tax included) after they added a fee for each child. 2. One of the kid's beds was creaking when the child was moving during the night, causing noise and the others couldn't sleep peacefully.
Pros: I loved this place so much, and my boyfriend did too. He kept saying how he felt right at room. Everyone is so welcoming and professional, can't wait to come back
Pros: The property is lovely. Old fashioned. Sweet. We wanted a quiet, restful place after a day of travel and tourism, and before hiking. For that it was perfect. Lovely front porch.
Cons: Meals are included. Breakfast was fine. We found dinner inedible. Choice between pork chops -- by coincidence we don't eat pork -- and fish. Fish is fine, but this was prepared in a manner we found hard to eat. Lots of garlic salt. So we went elsewhere. To their credit, the hotel deducted the cost of dinner from the final bill. More choices? Fresh vegetables?
Pros: The service by the staff was outstanding. Every employee was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: I would have liked it if the kids staying there were told that they had to be quiet after 8 or 9 pm. The kids were a bit noisy until about 10 pm on several nights.
Pros: Lovely old fashioned family atmosphere
Cons: Rachel could be more welcoming. The tables in the dining room were not really clean and the service was very slow. The food could really be much better.
Pros: Charming hotel, nice staff
Cons: unfortunately uncomfortable beds and very loud rooms - you can hear every time someone walks by, runs water, opens door or goes up / down stairs.
Pros: The Inn itself has considerable curb appeal. It's on a pretty, if unspectacular, hill in the Catskills and the grounds are immaculately maintained. It has many facilities, including a lovely porch and an inviting outdoor pool. and grass volleyball court. It's reasonably priced, especially considering that all meals are included.
Cons: The hotel is in desperate need of modernization. Almost everything is very old, and those things that aren't old (like the doorknobs and the faucets) are cheap replacements. There are no televisions, phones, clocks, or nightlights in the rooms. The sink in one of the three rooms we rented did not drain at all. The included meals are quite good, but available only during a set hour. (For example, we missed dinner because we arrived at 7:10.) The resort has a lot of facilities but some, like the bowling alley, are available only at particular times, if at all. This is entirely understandable, because the place is so empty it's downright spooky! I understand that the hotel has been run by the same family for decades and I understand that they are doing their best, but staying here feels like an act of charity,
Pros: I loved the trails on the property.
Cons: Booking says that check in is not until 3pm, but I called in advance and they were expecting us for lunch, which was a nice surprise, and our room was ready before noon. However, when we arrived in the dining room, we were ignored. After 20 minutes of holding a wiggly toddler we approached a server and asked for a high chair. The server did not return, so we had to stop another. We were told she was not our server, but she would help us anyway! The all-inclusive food is really like camp food, so keep your expectations low and expect slow service. It was such a rough experience we opted not to have our dinner in the hotel. I chose this hotel for my kids because I thought they would have a blast at the indoor pool and bowling alley. Unfortunately, the indoor pool is not heated and my 5-year-olds lip’s turned purple, so I did not bother going in with our toddler. The bowling alley did not open until 7:30 at night, which is when my kids go to bed. We were also excited to be able to go down to the bar while the kids slept, but they put us in a different building and the wifi was not reliable enough to leave with our online monitor. So, instead I tried to take a hot bath in the bathroom last renovated in the 1950s, but the drain stop did not work. $400 for one night comes with cardboard thin walls, a half bath with no stop and no hair dryer, and a toilet that slopes to the left. My husband did not feel the experience was worth $100, but I disagree. There are trails right on their property, so we did get to take a lovely little family hike complete with a covered bridge. However, at check out there was an elderly couple complaining that the place was highway robbery, and I do agree with them.
Pros: Historic feel to room--old furniture, original floorboards. Also liked the family-friendly environment. My kids liked the bonfire/s'mores
Cons: Bathroom was pretty outdated. Noise easily heard from hall through thin door.

Cons: The pool wasn’t working, it needs to be updated . Rooms smell very bad
Pros: Mold and mildew pervades the unit 304. Carpeting was atrociously stained and mildew Oder reeked.
Cons: All of the ground motel.
Pros: The staff was helpful. Gave us a different room when the first was unsatisfactory and cancelled credit card payment when second also unsatisfactory.
Cons: First room smelled of mold. Second room hallway was dirty and had dead roaches.
Pros: Location was great. Staff very Pleasant and friendly. Room was clean.
Cons: Room was musty smelling . I prefer the sheets on a bed to be fitted not two flats.
Pros: Indoor and outdoor pool. Lots of things to do on the property.
Cons: Outdated rooms Property needs work.
Pros: Sadly dated, bare, stripped down rooms smelling musty. Cafe not open till after 9:30 w/little to nothing to offer. Truly nice staff, AWESOME house pooch (Mason)!
Cons: In DESPERATE need of some upgrades.
Pros: Great location, outdoor and indoor pools.
Cons: It is basically a well run motel.
Pros: It was clean
Cons: No wifi in room, (Main bldg only). Way to much air freshener spayed to ty and cover up mildew smell. Mildew smell, obvious water damage looking at ceiling tiles. Tv was 14 inch CRT. 5 bars of soup no shampoo, bed older cheap spring type very hard and uncomfortable.
Pros: The staff were great! And the young girl in the breakfast area was great!
Cons: The rooms could use a facelift. The rooms felt damp and moldy. The pool could also use a makeover, looked dirty and unclean.
Pros: What a wonderful stay at the Acra Manor! I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels around the world and honestly have never encountered a nicer staff. I spoke with the owner the night before and asked for an early check in. I thought at most they’d let us in an hour before the scheduled time of 3PM. The gentleman behind the front desk said our room would be ready at 11 and they were true to their word. Once we arrived they were so helpful in offfering directions and explaining what events for scheduled for the evening. Really stellar work all around and we couldn’t have appreciated it anymore!
Cons: Not a damn thing.
