the location of the hotel for the view over braga loading and unloading area for the customers (incline )
Old world, good views. Associated with other hotels which are only 200 metres away and which have better/modern facilities (food, spa, bar etc)
The hotel staff really does an effort to please the guests.
Very nice and interesting place
Execellent location. The grounds are well kept and there is lots to see around the hotel. The history is preserved in the whole complex. We had a very pleasent stay. Like most of the hotels in portugal and spain- no Iron or Air conditioning.
We did not like it, because the airco did not work. So we left after one night
Wonderful position! Magnificent views. Like being in a fairytale setting. Comfortable room-good breakfast. An absolute "must see" place.
The staff were very helpful The area surrounding the hotel was restful and scenic
Beautiful location and wonderfully quiet. Staff nice and welcoming. Very romantic Bed creaked !
Poor room service. Very very tired old furnishings.
Good Location, Fresh look Tv set could be bigger and better tv channels
Very friendly, informative and helpful staff Limited dining facilities
Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and so everything looks great and clean. The breakfast could be a little bit better. Its localization could be better pointed in the roads.
Nice locationon the mountain of Bom Jesus. Rooms were tidy and clean. Good variaty in breakfastbuffet.
Quiet hotel, located right in the Bom Jesus Park. Breakfast (American) was good, with cereal, fruit, yogurt and 2 types of bread. Restaurants right outside the hotel much better than others we found downtown.
A great hotel in a lovely setting by Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Quiet and restful. Very comfortable facilities. Extremely well maintained. Use of the Spa in the nearby hotel is a great bonus. Will stay here again.
The hotel is outside of the city, so you need a car to get in and out. Nice park around it, nice views, staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not a big deal, your room may face to a noisy street so beware of that. The wifi may not work in your room also.
The place interruption, on the cabo TV
Could use facilities at other hotels which were within walking distance. Staff very helpful & knowlegable of local area.
Only the transport tools, since the last elvator close arround 8:00 PM. If there will be other main of transport it will be very fine.
Good parking. Easy to reach from highway by car. Counter staff helpful with map and directions on request, tho initially not welcoming. The door to room had previously been jemmied open or something which meant door was not reattched well -hanging off its hinges and big gaps. Breakfast was terrible, minimal and cheap products. Breakfast staff surly, insisted we move to a different table after we'd settled in, then put reserved sign on table we'd been forced to vacate. Why not do this from the start? No cutlery/crockery on table we were moved to, had to get this ourselves from another table. Sheets on bed were short for tall people.
It was a regular hotel for this grade.
We liked the courtesy of the staff, the internet fascility and our evening meal was excellent.
limited choice on menu
Good price. Far away from downtown (about 5 kilometers). Internet is very expensive!
It was a nice experience overrall, the staff were excellent A phone call I made to another city in Portugal was a bit expensive
Easy access for drivers. Hotel clean and comfortable. Non-smoking and smoking areas should be carefully kept apart.
Value for money Good breakfast Location difficult if not traveling by car.
Food excellent Map needed to show location. Road access instructions only available from the motorway.
Hotel staff were very helpful.
poor breakfast------small room
Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The rooms looked a little bare, perfectly adequate.
This is a slick, sexy, boutique hotel. I am 60 yrs. pld and felt perfectly at home. Wonderful people and breakfast.
excellent staff very helpfull
Stylish decor, helpful staff and excellent breakfasts. Nicely located opposite the river, adjacent to shops and restaurants.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dani answered all my questions and assisted me with booking my next hotel.
nice and clean room, the design was great, nearby the historic centre the breakfast was to limit for a four stars hotel, there is no sport recreation and the closet was to small for two persons
cloes proximity to choice of restaurents lack of air conditioning
Design and location. A gem of a hotel in a jewel of a town.
Quirky hotel with lots of color and life. Walls were paper thin and you could hear everything. Bed squeaked with slightest movement.
Historical experience and good service
It was interesting and quite spectacular. It was packed with antiques which, although interesting, gave the house a damp and musty smell. It was also quite dark. They do not accept cards so we had to go to a cash dispenser.
Warm hosts, beautiful rural setting outside small town, personal attention and opportunity to get to know hosts.
A stunning place to stay for anyone wanting to avoid the archetypal European hotel offer. A great experience all round In truth Ponte de Barca has relatively little to commend it compared with Ponte de Lima but the Casa Nobre do Correio-Mor makes up for it
The overall atmosphere of the place and kindness of the staff The bet was definitely too small and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok but would need more variety (fruit, croissants, etc.)
Ambience and character of a converted convent Service in bar sporadic; breakfast solid but uninspired
The location was great although finding the hotel proved challenging. The triple room was very spacious and clean. The staff, especially at the front desk were very friendly. We booked this spa hotel in anticipation of enjoying a massage after finishing the Camino de Santiago. We made appointments for the evening we arrived but then discovered that there was no one available to provide a massage that evening. The spa desk then suggested we use the Jacuzzi instead. Unfortunately after purchasing swim caps we discovered the Jacuzzi wasn't working. A big disappointment to say the least. Fortunately the hotel refunded the cost of the swim caps. Really would have liked a massage though.
Very nicely situated over the city of Braga.
The breakfast was delightful. The hotel was fairly quiet. Our room was located in a corner and we could see right into the window next to ours so we had to keep our curtains drawn - I would have liked to enjoy the view. The elevators were intimidating with the "jumps" they made. GPS coordinates would have helped to find the hotel.
The location is excellent, and the tennis and soccer fields made me wish I was there longer Unfortunately it was a bit noisy at night due to cars racing in the hotel's vicinity. Nothing they can do about that, though, I assume.
The location is excellent.
Everything was just perfect
The hotel staff was very friendly, good breakfast. The hotel was an antique convent, which makes an interesting environment. We did not use all of the facilities, which are plenty, only the pool and jacuzzi. Rooms could be updated, the furniture and bathroom are not modern, our closet was huge and next to the desk, blocking one of the doors. The TV is on the desk which leaves very little space for the use of a laptop, for example. The tv could be tuned better, the image was out of focus in some channels, although it had SporTV. Be aware of the garage doors in the indoor parking, they can be very tricky. The pool wasn't warm enough (for me, but that can be just me); the jacuzzi's water were somewhat not very clear (a little greenish), not very inviting, although it worked fine.
Wonderful views, excellent staff, great location. All in all an excellent hotel. Everyone in our party was impressed
Particularly the pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were excellent, the food in the dining room very good, and the outdoor pool was great. The hotel was generally very clean. Slightly disappointed by the indoor pool – too warm and the water seemed rather cloudy.
Location rooms are too small, breakfast not fully satisfactory
Central --good safe car park --very friendly staff.excellent value No complaints
Polite service, good size room. Convenient hotel close to the city centre.
Perfect location, right in the middle of old town, very quaint.
Good size room, nicer than other hotels I stayed in. Walls weren't dirty. Liked that the internet ended up being free to use, even though it said 3euro for a hour. Terrific location. Elevator.
I chose this hotel to stay during a conference. Most of the time, I would be out, and I was looking for a place with internet and breakfast, just to recover from day activities. I actually got more than that. Staff was very friendly and location allowed nice walks through the center of Braga. However, if you have a car (I did not), well, parking will be a problem.
close to the centre of Braga the shower broke, and the room was very very nosiey. barely slept all night.
Every amenity is literally on the doorstep. Continental breakfast is a continental breakfast and I personally am generally well satisfied with them
Excellent location, good all round comfortable accommodation There is no car parking, though there is a garage 200m away
I found the friendliness and service provided by the receptionist excellant, her local knowledge and advice most usefull. I expected to find tea/coffee facilities in the room and a hairdryer would be very handy.
Extremely courteous and helpful staff; rooms as promised, very clean and located well enough-fifteen minutes walk to the city centre.
Staff and Breakfast
The hotel is 10 minutes away from the town center. That's probably because the town is pretty small. The hotel only has a few parking spots in front but there's enough space in the street. The breakfast is good enough. The internet connection is pretty slow.
Location is easy to find No hairdryer and continental breakfast (no buffet)
Very friendly staff!
The staff were very helpful, friendly and eager to make our stay here enjoyable
The attention I deserved from the owners No complain
Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was fantastic value for money.
Fantastic location Hotel staff was sad.
Excellent views from the room and the restaurant. Good restaurant food. Location. My room was next to the service lift for the restaurant that ran all evening until 1:00 AM and started again at 6:50 AM. Had some troulbe communicating with some staff and a little difficulty with my restaurant booking
Beautiful location, very unusual and pleasant
location, splendid view from room, size and cleanliness of the room, no parking problems we didn't like the breakfast, in particular cheese and ham
Central location, service. Can be loud if you are in the front rooms.
Only the location Your waiters are all very rude. They make you feel very unwelcome. We did not like your Christmas Lunch Menu as we don't eat goats, boiled octopus etc and asked for a toasted sandwich with salad instead. They refused to serve us. We starved for Christmas and could not find an open restaurant anywhere. Your hotel ruined our entire Christmas Holiday which cost us a lot of money!
The location of the Hotel, at Bom Jesus, and overlooking Braga, was excellent The room was a little tired, and the paint on the balcony was flaking. The food was not of an acceptable standard. A lack of fresh food both at dinner and breakfast.
The staff were very helpful and the common areas and room very clean and nicely furnished. Very good breakfast with champagne which was a nice touch. There was no pool side bar and there was a very limited menu for the restaurant. I would also have liked to have had a bar/cafe menu for snacks during the day. Would also like more sun beds and umberellas and some heating in the pool! The room was small for the price. Drinks were very expensive .....3 Euros for 1 litre of water!
Veiw Top of hill
It is a very good hotel. My wife and I had been there for four times and we enjoy the City, the beaches and the whether.
Restaurant served good food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were very small for this class of hotel and price
splendid location views, splendor of the building furniture little bit outdated in the rooms
The fantastic views of the town below. The super relaxing atmosphere with little intrusion by staff. The relaxing lounge. the hotel decor/ fittings are starting to get rather dated (1980's) in the bathroom, who wants a bidet now or plastic/ glass towel rings?
It was a beautiful place, and the staff spoke English very well. The bartender was especially nice (sorry I didn't catch his name).
Stunning view, good facilities, courteous staff
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is a very elegant hotel. The staff were very good. Pan pipe music in hotel is awful. Quality of restaurant food in evening could have been better, the description was better than the final product.
The fact it was an historical house only that during my stay there were constructions nearby that were noisy in the morning
The location of this hotel is ideal if like us you plan to use public transport. Both train and bus stations are close by. The hotel is also very convenient for the old town, theatre and river Lima. Although centrally located the hotel is quiet and relaxing, has a well kept garden terrace area and is beautifully decorated throughout. All the reception staff spoke English and were very polite and helpful. The inclusive breakfast was very good with both cooked and continental on offer. None to mention
Breakfast above average, ambiance enchanting, near to shopping, staff friendly and helpful, everyone spoke english. The mattress was a bit hard for our taste.
The Restaurant/Chef/Waiters - very charming. Receptionists - extremely helpful The pillows - just too full your head slipped off them!
The staff were attentive and very friendly, the hotel has great style and atmosphere. The foos was very good.
Friendly and informative staff, nice historical setting, easy walking distance to main points of interest The breakfast is not 5*, Ibis offer better, the fruit was not fresh and neither was the juice and nothing hot on offer you have to order which saves on costs for the hotel but puts people off due to the wait, the hotel is located on a main junction so ask for a quiet room if you do not want to be woken early by passing traffic
everything except (see next point) the horrible elevator music in Restaurant/Breakfast room
Stylish old town house in beautiful Viana, very nice combination of the old & the new
The town centre location; friendly and obliging staff, very clever mix of ancient and modern in the design, excellent food Harsh lighting in the bathroom (but this is being picky!)
I like the staff, the building, the location... The bed could be more confortable, the matress is not that great. breakfast could be improved and a swimming pool would really add to this beaultiful property.
Dining area Souless - lacked warmth - no heart
Comfort, Location, Design, Food, Service
Our visit was really a pilgrimage to see for ourselves this reconstructed monastery by the innovative architect Souta de Moura. We were not disappointed. The client and architect should be congratulated for creating this sublime pousada and the staff made it extra special We loved every single about your pousada
The place was gorgeous, the room was a bit small
the dining room and the meals served
Wonderful mix of modern comfort in historical building. No guest-staircase in the main building? We used the staff stairs...
Clean and polite staff... almost a 5 star hotel, very close to the city center, although we still had to walk for 20 min. Breakfast was good and complete, but very disorganized... there were more persons waiting for a clean table than those who were acttualy having breakfast.
bed and airconditioning
Beautiful modern room and hotel, quiet and clean... Good breakfast
Inconvenient location, light in bedroom is bad, ac does not work (not even after complaint), poor air circulation in bedroom and corridors (damp and smelly), disappointing breakfast
Facilities in rooms excellant and spacious with good internet connection for business purposes. Hotel overall spacious and airey. All peaceful and nobody rushing around thus allowing me to relax during the evening. Location meant that it was rather a long walk to the centre of the city along not very salubrious areas which were not well lit.
The most interesting thing on this hotel is the SPA Rooms are too noisy and not thermally not confortable. Price is too high for hotel conditions.
the room was large and spacious. nice bathroom. spa a bit disappointing separate swimming pool to a small spa which got crowded. slippy floors. staff could speak english and spanish but wouldnt and continued in portuguese apart from the barman who really made an effort.
Friendly SPA and Facilities; Building Design;
Nice new hotel - large rooms good bathroom. Quiet rooms. Excellent beds. Very good location - small town is very nice. Breakfast is ok but could be improved. Coffee from the coffee distribution machine is not good. The overall atmosphere and management misses dynamism. Modern building, design and equipment but staff is somewhat outdated.
The rooms are amazing I thought the lights in the spa were too bright.
Amenities Weak internet in the room
English-speaking, friendly staff. Lovely interior design and furnishings. Super Spa. Easy parking. Chocolates and grapes in the room when we arrived were a lovely surprise! Nowhere in the bedroom for me to use my own hairdryer or straightener in the room and be close to a mirror ! The bedroom was too dark to work with my lap-top and documents. Breakfast did not include any fish options (smoked salmon etc).
The room is very comfortable and the bathroom is well designed. The breakfast was great. Very friendly staff.
Everything was great. It's a very modern new hotel and the staff are exceptionally attentive. Slow elevators, in the morning you have to wait a few minutes.
location was excellen. Twin room had two large beds and a very large and modern bathrom. N/A
Central position; helpfulness of staff; language not a barrier
Good location No
in the city center small room with bathroom "in the room"(separé), no common space, breakfast poor, impossible to reach by car
Great location, right next to main sq. , very cheap asweell, good breakfast
The breakfast was nice but cold milk for the cereals would be appreciated. The room had a really nice view with a great balcony and a very big bathroom but the church next door has a bell that rings every hour even during the night. There is a very nice little beach five minutes of walking from the hotel. The pool is great. There is even a park for the kids and a little swimming pool for kids. The walking trail number pr3 is great, but you can go on the top by car... The restaurant in the hotel was closed and it is a 10 min drive for the nearest good restaurant but the restaurant Pensao Baltazar in Geres is perfect.
Excellent location: beautiful nature around, sport facilities (bike hire, canoe hire, etc.) & plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, pool, nice views from all (or most) of the rooms, fairly good breakfast. WiFi works well in the lobby and restaurant, less so in some rooms.
Good location. No A/C and only one fan. Very hot room.
Location, facilities, good restaurant within walkng distance.
the location of the hotel, the breakfast, the hotel staff.
The location, staff and breakfast Indoor Swimming pool was too cold in both days of our stay even after reporting it to the staff
The beauty of this excellent site and the beautifully Portuguese looking building! Since this site is visited by many people, parking during the day, for hotel guests, might become a problem in the future, .
wonderful location with fabulous views over the city and countryside very difficult to find from inadequate directions - had to stop and ask at another hotel
the location is superb. i was expecting a kettle, tea, coffee, milk, sugar in one corner so i could make a nice cup of ......when i get up in the morning. also there is no exhaust in the bathroom....so i have to open the window/door everytime we have a poooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (sorry but it is true)
Good shared facilities with the adjoining hotel
The indoor pool. You must drive or take a taxi to the citycenter.
The location of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room Do not ask for fast pressing services is 50% more expensive, just go to the mall: braga parque yourself.
Simple but clean and functional. A real deal for the price. Central location for business and tourism, comprehensive breakfast, secure parking. With one word: can be recommended
The view from the window was nice, the bathroom was good, breakfast served very early. It was just across the train station, convenient if catching an early train. One of the twin beds felt like covered with polythene. The hotel needs to be updated, the carpet was smelling when we entered the room, but it was ok when the balcony was opened.
the cleaner was superb
the room had a balcony the breakfast room was badly light and very dark and unwelcoming
Hotel receptionist was very helpful in dealing with our travel problmes due to the Portuguese general strike. Nothing
The room was very large and the bed was also big and confortable. It's really near to the train station and the city center.
Very convenient for the centre of Braga. Good sized room. Good Bathroom.
the location is excellent, next to the train station and few minutes off the gate of the old town, making it very convenient for the short stays. the room i had was spacious, well equipped. staff was excellent (preparing me early breakfast on the departure day) and speaking excellent English. all in all - excellent value for money
Excelent cost/benefit relation. Not lux, but very good. Not much good on services.
Had a good stay at hotel.
The staff were excellent and very friendly. Paintwork on the wall of room needed work.
