Staff were helpfull and freindly Cleanliness of the rooms were very very bad. The rooms and the beds had very bad smell.
Big and comfortable rooms. Sea view. Central location. Classic style.
Localization I arrived at 23h00 and there was no room service/bar open.
Parking, absence of noise By far the most expensive hotel out of three on this trip to Italy and by far the least value for money from these three
Room releatively clean Bad lighting and unfresh smell
Good location fronting the beach, easy access, very central
We were able to purchase a bottle of wine at the pool bar and take it to our room. The sound of the sea was great when we were getting ready to sleep. The room was very large and well decorated
the room and the location Poor breakfast service as slow at refilling food and beverages and rude when advised of everything running out. This was a particularly busy weekend which could be why.
Excellent location. This hotel is 4 star rated which I don't think so by irish standards , Friendly staff. Free wifi which was great. It is too expensive .135 euros per night We did not have a sea view the bathroom was small and there was very little space around sink and no shelves for cosmetics .Breakfast was only fair although the cold eggs were nice
Room was spacious Unfriendly staff, bathroom needed an upgrade, room service not available because the restaurant/kitchen staff were too busy with private functions.
Rooms were like small suites with a private parking space. The attached restaurant "La Bucca" was excellent. The advertised swimming pool was under reconstruction when we were there.
The room was large and comfortable with a small porch to sit on which was nice. The bathroom was very small and cramped. Maybe the room could be a bit smaller to enlarge the bathroom.
Regular hotel with regular services
superb restaurant next door, clean & nice rooms, easy parking near the room door, easy-to-find location breakfast is not included and costs 5 euro perperson - though, very poor.
easy car parking, family friend
clean quiet comfortable
The restaurant is excellent - but seems to be independent from the hotel. The heating is controlled from reception, which means that the room was often cold.
The air condition system was broken. Huge implications for comfort and sleep
It was a pleasant time to be there.
Friendly staff. Very helpful It was very run down and in need of update - not 4 star expectation.
Beautiful seaview on standard room. Large room. Large pool. Not a seaside hotel. No beach. Poor quality dinner restaurant. Poor parking accomodation. Building just fairly maintained.
location, quiet place and yet not far from city centre service at the beach with special car, esp. cleaning the beach when hotel guests are already there trying to relax
The incredible view of the sea, the relaxing atmosphere and the swimming pools
The room decor and the views were exceptional. The whole hotel was very comfortable and the inhouse faciclities were good. Could have been a little closer to facilities, but worth the inconvenience.
The pools were good . It was not a 4 star standard. I hated the artifical flowers every where
The position of this hotel is wonderful. The room (superior) I got was the biggest I ever had. The hotel needs to be restructured especially in the external parts. Even if it is not far from the sea and the center, it's dangerous the road if done by foot.
swimming pool- the big one Towels not clean, room with damp and therefore smelling damp everywhere. Reception staff unfriendly, no simple smile (they have no idea about tourism business). Breakfast poor. No help for the heavy luggage. Very expensive if you decide to eat in the restaurant. Beach access is expensive as well (20 Euros), if you walk for 5 minutes you can go for a free beach! Overall the hotel is not worth 4 stars, maybe a 3. I think, they are just using the swimming pool - which is the only good thing- and their panoramic view for marketing. Would never go there again.
view at the see from restaurant and our room was wonderfull. the bathroom was amazing. i loved it! building outside-reconstruction at the moment. i don t like the swimming pool near the restaurant. but i am satisfied, i appreciate english speaking stuff.
The location, the views, the spaciuos rooms, personell... The building is pretty old, and it's visible, the on-going construction around the Hotel doesn't help if you want to relax in-door...
All staff were friendly, helpful and always ready to help. With a baby we needed boiling water on occasion (as there were no water cookers in the room) and this was given to us by staff at any hour with a smile. Excellent! The central location and room service/restaurant were very good quality for the money and we would go again anytime. We were dissapointed about the baths as with a name- terme- you associate thermal baths of course. we did not make it to the public baths next door but suspect that these were the actual thermal baths we were hoping to see. good marketing though. facilities were simple but in good shape however.
It is not common in other spa hotels to charge for using the pool while you are staying there. When I went through the hotel website it was said that the pool is included and it was one of the main reasons for us to chose the hotel. The staff seemed indifferent and tired comparing to other hotels in italy and we've been in quite a lot of places in italy.
Extreme high and extra charges for using pool and sauna
Room was very small, airco did not work, matrass was old and worn. Hotel is clearly past its prime and needs serious money to bring it up to standard. As we only stayed, we did not use the spa, hence, these might be of better standard.
Great choice of breakfast Wi-fi only available in the hall
The spa facilities were very nice and our skin felt great after the thermal springs. The beds were very hard (and we like a very firm mattress!)
I have stayed there before and this was the cheapest i have stayed for i will use you agian. I have bought a house in the area so will be going again soon.
Grand decor, great position, nice and quiet, good breakfast. Bar closed very early,or not open at all, evening meals inferior to local restaurants, bed hard, extra charge for pool not clear until you use which is expensive unless you spend a few hours in there. With just a bit more attention to detail this would be a fantastic hotel
Professional staff, excellent breakfast, great central location
efficiency, location would not consider it "comfy" or "charming"
View... And price for the one night stay. Parking. The hotel is some 3 kilometres from the town. You only can drive there from the hotel, no chance to get anywhere by walk. Beaches are not very much pleasant to visit. We hardly could sleep at night as the windows seems like do not provide any protection from noise from the road.
The restaurant was extremely good value. The room was clean with a fair TV service. There was wi-fi. The staff were very friendly although english was not their language at all. The lift was in good order The bathroom was sad with broken bits and some black rot on the ceiling - the water pressure was low in the morning - otherwise acceptable. The impression was a 1970's Hotel up graded to fit the 2010's but arriving at the mid1980's. The price at 95Euro was, we thought high for this hotel - 55Euro would have been right however its proximity to Portofino may account for the price. The Genova boatshow was starting the night we stayed thus this was the only Hotel under 350 euros available.
Excellent location near the beach. Wide room with a lot of space. A bit difficult to find. Getting a parking space was a bit of a challenge
location comfort in the room and breakfest
Having the room just above the kitchen. - And as for most hotels single rooms are just too expensive
I do not like this hotel at all. Churlish and rude personal and distasteful rooms. The beach - sorry sight.
Sea View & parking Room was too noisy, shower was broken, towels were poor quality, breakfast was poor
Good location, nice view from the room.
The presence of the private parking
sea view Kitchen smells in the bedroom;drab and well worn furnishings; surly staff.
Fab hotel, massive room, good restaurant, friendly staff, quiet. No complaints
Friendly staff, excellent room and wonderful restaurant.
faux 'oil' paintings hung at random heights throughout are singularly awful. music in all public areas is obtrusive
Qiuet, very nice rooms, one of the reception ladies was very helpful. The warm Jacuzzi was nice The free wireless internet connection supplied through a 3G router was terrible. But at least it was free
almost everything small parking in front of hotel, other parking a bit far
Plus / friendliness staff, pool area, room comfort Minus / breakfast quality
The two different rooms we were in were large and clean. Bathroom lay-out a bit awkward. You had to circumnavigate the bidet to get at the toilet. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very noisy position, situated on a busy through road and despite double glazed windows traffic sounds could be heard all through the night. The bar opposite the hotel played loud music until midnight. We changed rooms from the seafront side to the back and that was better although there you hear the trains early in the morning.
Location across from the sea.
Good Breakfast, two bathrooms in room, large windows, big room, free gated parking Some Train noise, Renovation construction on the front of the building
The name was not marked clearly outside so I could not identify it!
we were here before, to visit genoa boat show via a very convenient boat / ferry connection this was the reason for choosing this location getting there by car is very difficult due to heavy rainfall we took 3h from genoa boat show to get to the hotel
close to beach a bit noisy..but hey you're in Italy..
An old hotel charm with necessary modern conveniences. Secure included parking.
Staff were very welcoming. Room/bathroom very good. Sea view, but obviously noisy with constant traffic which didn't bother us. Breakfast was really bad- machine coffee and orange juice which was awful. Didn't try the cheap looking ham or cheese. This is a country of great food (well in some places) so go to coffee bar next door which is fast with great coffee and cakes. Evening drink there is good too.
quite run hotel Work is being done on external decoration on front elevation and itheir is minimum noise. It is an old building and work has to be done sometime, will look nice when finnished.
Convenient for purpose of trip Food at linked restaurant was terrible. Breakfast very limited
Very good food and restaurant service
Our room was great. Getting from the airport to the hotel was a bit of a challenge, but not impossible.
The atmosphere Television on top of the wall
The room was ok but nothing else was of any significance we were very dissapointed The hotels priorty was given over to the functions being held. The resident was not given the same care and attention
The hotel is situated at the top of a winding road on top of a mountain overlooking the sea, so you drive out of the hot, slightly crazy city of Genoa into a little retreat, with a fresh breeze, a wonderful shaded secret garden, a sweet pool and charming restarant. Typical Italian food, hard to find in the tourist spots, and attentive staff make the restaurant well worth using. There wasn't any multilingual information in the room, so I spent a lot of time being really British and miming and using my three words of Italian to the reception.
The view of the sea. The garden behind. Complementary wine. Great wine. Excellent value for money Improve the choice in the breakfast items. Should be both hot and cold. There was no internet connectivity and was a bit of a let down.
The room was clean The view of the containerport was not very pleasing. No one available to help with luggage. There was no food available except breakfast, which was eaten in some sort of tv room. No lunch served and dinner was only available if you had full board. There were no restaurants near by as the Hotel is in the middle of an industrial area. There was no bar open the whole time we stayed. The mini bar only contained water. The pool attendant was able to fetch drinks but we were not given this information. He was not available after six. The pool was only open between three and six in the afternoon. On raising these issues with the reception I was shouted at and told to accept what they offered. Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at..
Very helpful staff, authentic decoration, cleanness, sea view, garden. Breakfast buffet was good enough.
Nice old building Highly difficult to find out!
The general ambiance of an old fashioned hotel with the comfort of a modern one. The gardens and terraces. Courtesy of night staff when we arrived very late and the bottle of wine waiting for us. The dining room seemed small, but there were wedding receptions each night which probably took place in the normal dining room
The hotel was clean and quiet. It was situated near to the beach and view to the sea was beautiful. The women who served breakfast were very kind. We missed for some kind of hotel book because staff spoke english poorly. Breakfast did not correspond to "buffet breakfast" but was enough to us. There were too few staff in the restaurant at dinner time. Dinner was excellent but hurried atmosphere distressed.
Nice Hotel, nice rooms, very good restaurant. Hotel was indeed as offered 50 m from the beach, unfortunatelly it was 50 meters in highth, which resulted in a 700m walk to reach the beach. Tlooks like cheating the customers. However as the rest was fine, it was accepted.
The rooms were lovely and modern with air conditioning. Close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The staff were very helpful. Lovely place to stay!
They have a good restaurant.
Cost of the room 80 degrees F (27C) outside on June 1st but the Hotel do not switch on the air conditioning in the rooms until July 1st! Breakfast was poor in the quality and variety of food on offer.
Staff friendly Lack of heating. Very restricted restaurant mene
Free parking, quiet location within walking distance to the city centre.
Pleasant staff. Modern, clean hotel with comfortable rooms Main entrance covered in snow and ice. Not cleared or gritted even though there were more staff than guests!
Newly remodeled hotel. Comfortable, spacious, well-lighted room. I loved the little balconi overlooking the green hill facing my room. Very pleasant and efficient staff as well as management. I was very pleased with the quality service and attention I received.I felt at home at Hotel Valentino.
Low price, clean rooms, good parking possibilities Terrible breakfast, poor food in general, unfriendly staff, no wireless Internet connection although web page promised this
large rooms, comfortable bed, had a garage, clean sheets and towels, breakfast went on until midday, cheapest hotel in the area rooms were not that clean (lots of dead bugs everywhere and tables weren't clean) and breakfast was awful (hardly any choice, all stale, any cooked food was extra)
good - we were there for one night for a family visit and foünd the hotel to be very satisfactory
Very friendly owner who provides customised services and takes care of your individual needs, special nutrition and habits. I definitely recommend this hotel.
hospitality of the staff 1) poor breakfast and quality of meal in general; 2) too noisy at night time (because of many junior sportsmen).
the staff recmmended a local reastrant which was very local and very Italian-- we enjoyed the food very much
There was no airconditioning, while it was blisteringly hot. One tower fan in a room for three. Hotel staff chose not o speak English when I complained, they spoke English till then. do not stay at this hotel
Good location for shopping. Room`s cleanness. Breakfast could be better!
Breakfast terrace. Kindness of hotel staff. The noise during the night from main town square. No air conditioning
Very nice breakfast, clean and modern facilities, and great hosts. Free wireless in rooms would be nice. There was one ethernet cord, but you had to use it in a separate room.
Nice accurate privately hold hotel in the very centre of old Gavi town. The owner Guliano (I hope the spelling is correct) prepares georgeous espresso or guests! Comfortable beds. If you happen to stay there do not miss an opportunity and visit local restaurant Zenzero that offers traditional ligurian dishes. A bit further from Serravalle than indicated 8 km, but still convenient.
Very good location, with a wonderful view on the castle. My room was very clean and fresh. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Easy access Parking problem (especially on Sunday), very poor breakfast
we stayed one night and there was blackout (no electricity) for this period
Rooms are confortable and the breakfast is simple but good -
