Pros: Typical motorway-type motel at service area. Despite proximity of road there was no intrusive traffic noise. A reasonable meal could be obtained on-site. Ideal as place to stay to break journey.
Pros: The hostel is located on the highway not far from Ponferrada. Staff was nice. Bathroom and bedsheets were clean. Very good place for the price paid.
Cons: The "hotel" is really more of a truck stop than anything else, good if you are just stopping for a night after a long day of driving, but nothing else. There isn't really a front desk, only the bartender in the cafeteria. As the hotel is far from Ponferrada, I needed to get a cab into the city, which they were unwilling to call for me. There was no clock in the room, and it did not feel safe or secure at all.
Pros: Large, comfortable room with air conditioning. Good lighting for reading or studying a map in the evening. Reasonable meal available on site.
Cons: Having to go up and down autopista to get to and from the hostal. Difficulty in finding out information about locality - nothing available on site.
Pros: Very very nice room.
Cons: Nothing, despite the fact that the hotel is in the road
