Cons: Not much
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful and went out of the way to make sure our stay was perfect. The grounds were gorgeous - the property is situation within a perfectly manicured tropical garden, and the pool and beach are picturesque. Bungalows were spacious and beautiful. Food was excellent.
Cons: The bed and pillows were quite hard. Everything else was so lovely, it was a bit disappointing to end the day uncomfortably. They did not have mattress toppers to make it softer. I would recommend investing in some for guests at request.

Pros: The resort is beautiful and its location was amazing. I loved the fact that I could walk from the pool right to the beach. The sunsets were out of this world. The food was delicious. Pros: Beds were comfy, staff was so kind and amazing, even the other guests were super friendly! Loved everything about it! My kids absolutely adored our waiter, Senor Max, who was so sweet and kind and cheerful. I could see why they have so many repeat guests- we can’t wait to return!

Pros: The beachfront rooms had a beautiful view and wonderful relaxing chairs on the patio. We watched and listened to the waves, birds and howler monkeys. We had our own outdoor shower! Breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful. Loved everything about this place.
Cons: I will miss this place. It was delightful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Capitan Suizo was a little piece of paradise, honestly was magical. Staff were beyond accommodating and so friendly. Property, pool and room were very clean and well kept. Felt like a home away from home. A very rustic authentic Costa Rican experience, while still luxurious and location at the end of Tamarindo beach made it very private and quiet. Was a very special place, that we look forward to going back to again.
Cons: There was nothing that didn't meet our expectations - it was our first time in Costa Rica and we couldn't have asked for a better experience so absolutely no complaints!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff is super accommodating and friendly. They aim to please and are very responsive ... Impressed by them all.
Cons: Food was generally good especially nachos poolside. Nice buffet breakfast. Dinner salad and a few appetizers for dinner were just ok.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room eas spacious and close to the pool. There was a good breakfast selection and the staff were friendly and attentive. The concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations and making arrangements for activities.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice little BnB. Beautiful pool, very friendly host family and great & healthy breakfast.
Cons: I hope the payment (we have to pay the deposit through paypal) could be more clear up front.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I had a lovely stay at Les Voiles Blaches. The property and garden are beautiful and the hosts Karyn and Michael went above and beyond to make my stay extra special from arranging tours to making me a vegan and gluten free breakfast. Highly recommended!
Cons: There really isn’t anything to dislike! I would recommend that you rent a car if you plan on venturing out. Otherwise Karyn and Michael have a taxi service that can take you into Tamarindo for $15.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are modern furnished and have air-con. Bed is very comfortable. Nice and we'll kept property, the pool is refreshing and clean, shaded hammocks allow for relaxing. The breakfast is freshly prepared and was one of the best we had during our stay in Costa Rica! Karene and Michael are very nice people and run their business with a lot of passion. They are easy to reach via whatsapp or mail in case of questions.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Les Voiles Blanches B&B! The entire space is quiet, relaxing, and safe. The pool was clean/the perfect temperature and the hammocks strewn around the space were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful space. The room had everything we needed (great a/c and internet), comfortable king sized bed, and beautiful bathroom. The location was perfect, far enough away from trashy Tamarindo to be quiet/safe, but close enough to go to dinner and explore a wide array of beaches! Besides the amenities the hosts were fantastic! They were easy to communicate with, flexible, gave us wonderful recommendations (even set up sunset horseback riding for us) and provided a delicious breakfast! 10/10 would definitely book again and recommend staying here!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The ability to watch Netflix was a plus. Owners friendly & helpful. The walk-in shower luxurious.
Cons: It was very windy and the tall plants next to the rooms made a lot of noise at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was absolutely incredible . The rooms and the grounds were impeccable. Karene and Michael were amazing and helped us book 2 activities The hotel is a little far from the town of Tamarindo but it was very easy to get to. With that being said, we did feel like we were in our own little 4 room oasis.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely place Peaceful Nice owners Great rooms
Cons: No food or drinks Without prior warning this would be a pain as you have to drive everywhere
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and garden, lovely setting , small scale hotel (4 rooms) , very friendly and helpful people, privacy , clean and well maintained place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well located, near to all the best beaches in Guanacaste. The pool is amazing and very quiet. The hosts are very kind. The room was confortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic experience, luxury and romantic vibes in this family own little bed and breakfast. The open roof shower is a must try! Lovely experience and people!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s amazing what they’ve done with a dry piece of land, it’s all very tastefully decorated and you can relax in a hammock or in the pool We could make coffee and use some basic cutlery and wine glasses from the kitchen The semi-outdoor shower was a really unique and nice touch
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing little property a short drive from Tamarindo. Quiet and peaceful location with great access to a number of beaches provided you have a car. Karene and Michael were wonderful hosts! Soo welcoming and attentive. They had great knowledge of the area and made fantastic suggestions on beaches to visit, restaurants to dine in and the best spots for sunset. Breakfast was brilliant, although more of a set breakfast rather than a menu. I would definitely stay here again !
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything! Great location and view, great food both for breakfast and dinner, excellent and attentive staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliest most welcoming staff in the whole world! The hotel is in a lovely setting, it is so clean, so friendly, the pool is beautiful, the gardens are exquisite , the food is fantastic, breakfast is wonderful, the waiters really make you feel special, and the beach garden area with bar, plunge pool and WiFi is fabulous.
Cons: I like EVERYTHING!
4.5 Okay
Pros: The staff at the restaurant were amazing. They were always so nice to us.
Cons: When we complained to the front desk staff bout the deep tissue massage that wasn't "deep tissue" they were very rude to us, and they continued to be rude to us for the rest of our stay. And the hot tub in our room smelled. I don't know how often they cleaned it. It wasn't worth paying extra for.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous views as you enter the hotel, very friendly staff and enjoyed the food.. in particular the breakfast mimosas. Hotel staff upgraded our room on arrival which was nice and meant we had sun loungers on the terrace to relax on rather than needing to be by the pool. I went to the morning yoga once which was an excellent addition.
Cons: We felt the prices were a little expensive, particularly for things like bottles of water at dinner! ($8.50 for san pelligrino?!) and it would have been better if the gym facilities were in the Jardin del Eden rather than the Diria sister hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful. Very tropical nice pool beautiful restaurant area. Rooms were clean very friendly staff. There is beach access right across the street. The hotel has their own section of grass with a bar and a pool and plenty of lounge chairs. Beach is right there. The sunsets are gorgeous. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. I am vegan and they accommodated me every dinner. Breakfast had fresh juices, fruit, toast, beans & rice etc etc. if you want a relaxing time stay here. BTW the path to the beach is also beautiful and soothing music. Bring bug spray (they have it too) lots of mosquito bites!
Cons: There is nothing really to complain about. The pool by the beach wasn’t as clean as the hotel pool. That’s about it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great boutique hotel with lovely and nice staff. Dinner was included (3 courses) and every night we had something different and very tasty. Location is great, with a nice access to the beach private garden.
Cons: I missed a fitness center. As a boutique hotel, at least a cardio room, should be part of their services. Breakfast could be a bit better and with more options like meat or a hot section as part of the buffet.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and dinner here was delicious and amazing! The hotel grounds were also absolutely beautiful and everyone was so friendly and helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was phenomenal. The facilities were always clean. The beach front private space was amazing. The adults only was a great touch!
Cons: The pillows were awful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful and peaceful, truly feels like you are in the Garden of Eden!

7.0 Good
Pros: This place is very special, the whole place is very nice and charming, the pool is amazing and the rooms were pretty clean big and comfortable. The choice of breakfast is superb and the breakfast in general is very nice
Cons: This is not a problem of this hotel only but a general problem in Costa Rica, the hotels, restaurants and all the services for tourists are over expensive and in this case I think that the price we paid could have been a little cheaper, especially considering that the hotel is not in Tamarindo but you need to have a car to come and go (it's just 10 minutes but anyway). If the price would have been cheaper probably would have been a 10 stay but paying the price it seems just a fair vote
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing,
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast (above expected)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Is a wonderfoul place. Nice room.Nice people,Big Pool And Jakuzzi,Green Place. The Owner Family (Estrella and Allan) verry kind person and full of joy. I recomand this Place to everyone.EXCELENT!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Owners are very friendly, and accomodating. The small Hacienda style hotel is a very clean place. Breakfast was outstanding. would definitely stay here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hosts.. for us the location was perfect. It is queit and peaceful and by car you reach tamarindo or playa grande pretty fast. However, if you don't have a own car i would not recommend staying there. Very nice pool and garden, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun. Room was comfortable and clean. You get a lot for what you pay. It is very safe with a big gate.
Cons: There is a shared kitchen to use, however, it could be a bit better equipped and also cleaner (a fresh towel every day would be nice). Our room smelt a bit like someone was smoking in there before.. but wasn't a big issue.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and gardens
Cons: the AC didn´t work properly

Pros: My wife and i went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon, and we spent our final five days at the Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel. We absolutely loved it, hated to leave and can’t wait to come back again. Everything from the location, to the ambiance and decor, and especially the staff, was top notch. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Tamarindo.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about this hotel. Small, quiet, convenient, clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean and warm pool, close to town, excellent food, comfortable large rooms, inexpensive, wow!
Cons: There really wasn't anything at all to complain about.

Pros: Clean rooms with all amenities in a great location with attentive management. Wonderful pool on site and a good breakfast service each morning. Beautiful modern bathrooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel was gorgeous. Our room opened out onto the pool and the furnishings (in the room and common areas) were so pretty. Beds were super comfy and the shower was great. Everybody at the hotel was very friendly and helpful too, even organising our transport back to San Jose for us. We loved our stay here, wish we were staying longer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Superb hospitality and recommendations from Marie and staff! It was great having purified water and ice at our disposal as well. Nice, modern, clean rooms.
Cons: WiFi was not the best
9.5 Excellent

Cons: Nothing. It was really great!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and ideal location. We were able to borrow gear, beach chairs and a cooler free of charge!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, classy, close to downtown Tamarindo and beach but felt more quiet and secluded than the busy town. Loved the location! We spent a lot of time at the hotel as it was very peaceful and beautiful.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Concept of adult only was great. Friendly staff and the highlight was morning breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small calm oasis right in the heart of Tamarindo. Great small pool in the center of the little complex and great communal seating area. Fab breakfast! My favorite thing about this property was that they are super environmentally conscious
Cons: Nothing to dislike
5.5 Okay
Pros: The decoration and the employee (man)
Cons: The location was not bad, but I do not recommend it, there are many hotels next to the beach and not much more expensive than this one. The service that gave us, the owner, or at least the manager left a lot to be desired, we had a plane and we asked her if it was possible to advance the breakfast 15 minutes, to which she said no. It is a very expensive place for the service they have, for me that kind of service is for places more crappy.

Pros: Everything!!! The staff was very friendly specially the guy who made our Mexican breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, small boutique hotel with great service. Location is wonderful, easily accessible to restaurant, shops and beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a fabulous suite , so contemporary, clean and secluded. Pool area was so tastefully presented with the tropical shrubs surrounding ,encouraging indigenous wildlife. Best breakfast of the four hotels we staying at in Costa Rica
Cons: We didn’t eat dinner here as wanted the evening atmosphere of Tamarindo, I didn’t think the lunch menu gave much variety ... but i grasping to find fault !!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cala Luna is located in the nicest part of Tamarindo, precisely in Langosta, a less touristy and crowded area which is quiet and safe; the facility is simply fabulous, from the chic simple beach tropical decor to the architecture and the lush landscape, the flora and fauna are amazing and the staff is very kind and helpful. The food is all around very well prepared, using a lot of local products from organic farms. The seafood is incredibly fresh. My family fell in love with this place, we would love to come back !
Cons: The only thing I would say were a bit not disappointing but I wished more attention was paid, was ( i guess it was due to the fact that different people taking care of the rooms) the lack of attention to details. The first day the room was done amazingly, they even left fresh flowers and arranged the towels in a beautiful way, the next days it seemed some towels were missing ( didn't t get replaced with clean ones), some glasses we used the night before were not removed and replaced with clean ones, so were the coffee cups and additional coffee bags...a little sloppiness- i have to say that the room and bath were always clean but the fact that the dirty glasses were not replaced annoyed me some. Also in the pool area and lunch restaurant plates and glasses would be left by tables for a bit too long ( considering that there was plenty of staff walking around tending to the guests...)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nothing, but the location was not the ideal
Cons: The hotel was perfect in every way
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful, tranquil and so pleasant! All staff was wonderful. The food here was amazing and the atmosphere was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff on every level. Wonderful food! Will be back. We love Cala Luna
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious, clean and either new or recently updated. I particularly loved the bathtub in the bathroom. It was very unique, clean and comfortable. The pool and restaurant area was beautiful and a pleasant place to relax. I also loved all the jungle plants located throughout the resort. Excellent staff as well!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the staff to the services and the locations. Their attention to details was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The room was incredible. Air conditioning worked great. Staff was amazing. Breakfast was nice and free sunset cocktails on beach was a nice touch. $5 taxi into town or you can rent golf cart or take bikes. Out of the action of the city for privacy but close enough to go in if you want.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and a genuine boutique feel at the hotel sets it apart as one of the finest places I have ever stayed. The staff are attentive but never too much so. They have the balance just right. What’s more, the food is the best In Tamarindo and beats any restaurant in the town itself for both value and quality. In fact, Cala Luna’s restaurant was one of the best in which I have ever eaten anywhere in the world.

They also leant us an umbrella, chairs and a cooler/esky for the beach. The room was amazingly comfortable, a super sized king size bed and a solid air conditioner!

7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is at least 1.25 hours from the airport and is about .5 hours from Tamarindo, so it is fairly isolated. There's no music/DJ at the pool and no real entertainment. The hotel does have daily activities, which is nice. The water is rough, so there aren't any water sports/activities. The property grounds and pool are well kept. However, the buildings and some of the rooms are in need of cleaning and overall maintenance. Despite such, the ocean front views are beautiful and the 1.5 suite was gorgeous. The staff is absolutely amazing, professional, and polite, especially the room service staff (shout out to Juan Diego- who was awesome). Overall I'd give the property 4 stars. However, if I return to the area, I will try an all inclusive. With all of the taxes and fees, I never paid less than $50 for a meal/snack for myself and my son (i.e. $10 for an order for french fries, $4.50 or $5.00 for a coke, +13% tax, +10% gratuity). Stop at duty free and buy liquor. Alcoholic beverages are reasonably priced, but you get one short poured shot measured in a jigger with a lot of ice and juice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views on the coast, the facility was wonderful and had great service. Rooms were large enough for four of us to share for a week.
Cons: The resort is far from just about everything else. It's a 15 minute ride to the nearest town and $7 per person each way for a shuttle. All the adventures are at least a 2 hour bus ride, or more.
6.8 Good
Pros: I liked the entrance and the Asian restaurant
Cons: It was overpriced and it was almost empty. I asked for a sea view. They told me they had lots available but would change me extra per night. Seriously, reception sucks.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room with the balcony
Cons: The aircon was noisy
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendliness
Cons: Lack of beach rentals on property.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Service and people great
Cons: Served wrong steak in steakhouse and too 4 additional times until steak done better but always served rare vs medium rare after explaining multiple times. Azul restaurant was good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved how friendly and helpful the staff was. We also loved the privacy of the rooms and the beauty of the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was away from chaos of Tamarindo. We had our own car to come and go but we never left. Also, I got very sick towards the end of the visit and there is a medical clinic on property. He was very helpful getting me the treatment I needed and on to our next location. That was huge!
Cons: ATM went offline.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Your place is far from everything and you over charge for travel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Affordable
Cons: Campus excellent. Not much to visit outside of hotel property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything at this resort it was truly fantastic! The only thing that could use improvement, is vegan options at all meals.
Cons: Everything was super, just more vegan food options.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were amazing. View of sunsets are perfect.
Cons: Terrible overpriced food. Staff seemed cranky.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite small but in a good location in Tamarindo close to everything. The breakfast was good and with one dish option changing everyday (not sure if possible to have something different).
Cons: The bathroom was not really well cleaned (some hair left in the shower). The fridge is empty - a bootle of water would be appreciated. Generally too expensive for the quality but no many better options are in Tamarindo.

Pros: I liked all of it
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ten North was perfect! We loved everything about it. The staff we all amazing from the owner, Trish, to Veronica, the pool guy, the cooks and servers, the security, and the room cleaners. We would highly recommend Ten North to anyone travelling to Tamarindo. In fact, I gotta say, we are jealous that you all get to be in such a special place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an amazing property steps away from the beach! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful with recommending nearby restaurants. She even upgraded us as there were larger rooms vacant during our stay! The breakfast every morning was also terrific. We also made good use of the pool area every day!

Pros: This stay was amazing, I was traveling with my Boyfriend and we had such a nice and relaxing stay at Ten North Hotel. The breakfast was different every day it was amazing! Delicious. Beds were very comfortable AC was perfect. Water worked everything was hands down great. We absolutely did not want to leave!
Cons: Only thing that I would say is that if you are traveling with a group of friends or want a more party scene hotel i would not recommend this hotel it is for more of a relaxing stay! Very quiet at night :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for exploring Tamarindo, 5 minute walk from the beach and main strip. It's like a mini oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. Wish I'd stayed longer than 2 nights. My room was upgraded before I arrived, lovely little private patio area outside the room. Felt safe the whole time.
Cons: Nothing the place was great.

Pros: Amazing place! Very nice and helpful staff. Our room was clean and cosy. Great location - just 5 minutes to the beach and city center with all the restaurants and shops. Just across the street was a supermarket. Water in the pool was clean and warm. Bed - super comfortable! Each day we have had something new for breakfast and every time it was delicious. Overall, we liked everything! Highly recommended!
Cons: Everything was great. No complains.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was great, prefect location, chilled, comfortable, clean, great staff, and value for money during our stay was outstanding. Wish I'd stayed longer. Just perfect.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean, location excellent.
Cons: The lady working the front had a can't-be-bothered attitude that was off-putting. I ended up paying more than $150/night and probably could have stayed closer to the beach for that price.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Arco Iris is well planned and very well kept. Really, the room was simple but immaculately cleaned daily, and the walk-in shower is just what I needed after all day at the beach. My bungalow (#6) had blackout curtains that let me sleep in as late as needed. Breakfast was the typical Costa Rica fare (rice, eggs, papaya, pineapple, coffee etc) and solo traveling I had a chance to chat with the owner Richard and other folks beside the pool. The beach is just down the road, and while you could find a place closer, for me this one checked all the boxes of convenience, comfort, cleanliness, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds of the hotel were beautiful gardens. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was delicious.
Cons: Nada! Everything was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved my bungalow. Especially the bathroom. Staff and Richard very helpful. Would stay again
Cons: Found it hard to dislike anything.

Cons: I would recommend posting safe directions in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything at this hotel!!!! Best staff, great friendly owner. Wonderful breakfast. Our room was cleaned everyday to perfection. You can’t beat the location easy 2 min walk to every thing. I highly recommend this place. They booked our activity for us and gave us the best recommendations. They take such good care of you like you are their family!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Arco Iris had a great feel to it. The pool is very nice. Richard is a super cool guy and is extremely friendly. We had to leave at 4:00 am to catch our flight and Richard gave us some fruit, muffins, and juice. He offered that up without us even asking. We were very happy with the location. You are just far enough from the noise of the main street, but still able to walk to everything. The beach is maybe a 5 minute walk. There is a walking path from the hotel to a road with tons of great restaurants. If you feel like staying in for a nice meal, they lease their dining space to one of the best restaurants in Tamarindo, Seasons by Shlomy. We traveled to 4 different cities in Costa Rica and this hotel was our favorite by far.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room was kind of weak. It worked a little better at night. We weren't around much during the day so it didn't bother us much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice

Pros: Location, bar, food, staff

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and relaxing hotel that is about 25 min outside of Tamarindo. Personally that is where I spent most of my time but I still had a nice relaxing stay here. If you are planning to experience most of your time in Tamarindo you could stay in Tamarindo but it might be too loud as there is a lot going on. If you plan to stay here at this property I would suggest getting a rental car. Overall good hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great little cozy inn
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived here with a 3 nights reservation, ended Up staying a week because we didnt want to leave! The rooms are cozy and very clean. The staff is accomadating and friendly. Great shared area ; beautiful pool, hamacs and lounge. Peace on earth! But the best part has to be the restaurant : Amazing pasta, sushi Nights, ceviche... The service was also impeccable and the prices are very reasonnable for the quality of fois. Thank you for everything, we Will be Back

7.0 Good
Pros: The people were nice / rooms were good.
Cons: The food good have been better plus the pool was dirty.
6.8 Good
Pros: I liked the all inclusive aspect of the resort. For $130 per night for two people it is definitely -worth it.
Cons: There was a crab and a centipede in our room. The room smelled funky.
6.3 Good
Pros: Receptionist Kenny was very helpful. Lively vibe!
Cons: Big property with a lot of people! Overall tired looking hotel that needs more housekeeping staff to bring the standard up to its 4 star rating. Cleanliness not what it should be for this rating. Towels taken on a daily basis and not replaced, had to go to reception and ask for replacements. Noisy and overcrowded. Leads on to the beach but lots of vendors there trying to sell tours, goods etc, very intimidating. Moved to another hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good place with good facilities, I heard about the bad rooms, but we had a very good one, pretty much the same with what we’ve got in a previous all inclusive. (building 4 btw) Food was good enough, short menu but good at taste. In general, it’s a good place to party with friends, not that good for romantic purposes.
Cons: In the bar, I noticed some people asking for a lot of drinks per turn, which delays all the process. Personnel very kind excepting for a person the first day in the reception which seemed to be having a bad day
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Wi-Fi is not included, costs $12 per day and it is only available in some rooms.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff is the best part of my experience. Really. Edwin, Carol, Grace, kenny, Tatiana....and more. They all made the stay so fun, friendly and a learning experience. Thank you.
Cons: The cleanliness and cosmetic of the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Pool was great and the kids loved it, entertainment staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Felt the majority of the staff weren't that focussed on the guests and weren't happy to be there. Rooms were tired and could do with an update.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were big and comfortable, pool and beach we’re great to visit everyday. Food was delicious.
Cons: The roof got flooded in a heavy storm outside our door, need better drainage
7.0 Good
Pros: most everything was satisfactory.
Cons: more variety of food. when drink lines get long, need to single out beer only line. Dinner seemed to be rice and beans every night. Room was dirty, had to beg for towels and washcloths. We are in our 60’s with bad knees and on the 3rd floor many steps to go up and down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Roomy villa and well equipped! Private pool was awesome and a short walk to the beach or into town for dining and shopping . Very private (which we like)! Staff was super friendly and helpful—Eric is the best “guide”—he arranged an incredible adventure day of zip lining, horseback riding and hot springs with mud bath for us which we will always remember!
Cons: I just wish that we could have had access to the hammocks and beach chairs but we were told they are exclusive to Cala Luna guests. Seems like they could work out an arrangement? Despite that, we absolutely loved our time in Costa Rica!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Villa was beautiful Staff was A+
Cons: Only thing that would have been better would have been an ocean view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything amazing amenities, location and staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The size and location of rooms, air conditioned in each bedroom and in main living. Bathrooms were huge! Loved the privacy of the pool.
Cons: It was very hard to find. I still have no idea where the check in desk is. We messaged to say when we were arriving and found out when we got there it was closed (at 6:30pm). The guest book states the hours are till 7pm. I had to use my iPhone and google translate with a random security guard to find our villa. We could have never found it if I wasn’t so persistent. If you arrive after 5pm (a staff person later told me) beware you will have no one to greet you and it is dark.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious villa, private pool and parking. The site was quiet and private between villas. The town with shops and restaurants was about 1 km so very close. You can also rent golf carts for the day which is great for families with infants.
Cons: Access to the beach (there was an access close to the property but there was rocks there and it wasn’t swimmable) was a little far but within walk distance. The villa needs newer and additional pots and pans for cooking.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location , staff, comfort off the villa, the vibe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When you first walk in, your mouth will drop! The high and beautiful wood cellings, the pratical kitchen and the rooms that let in this gorgeous natural light are what makes Tamarindo Dream Hotel worth every penny. Oh and how could i forget: the private perfect blue pool where you can walk back into your room without any effort. I was in love with all the trees that surrounded it. And if you walk about 3 mins outside, you get access to a private way to the beach. Super safe neighborhood and about a 15mins walk to the « centre ». The staff was excellent: they helped us organise a horseback riding adventure and suggested many other activites, like private yoga on the beach at sunset and surf lessons.
Cons: The reception building doesn’t have a sign yet, so we had to ask around and ride passed it a bunch of times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the private pool and glad to have washer and dryer and full size refrigerator and loved seeing and hearing the monkeys in the trees right out the front door
Cons: The place did not have a hair dryer and we could have used more towels for 5 people and did want coffee in the morning they had a coffee maker but had no filters or coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The villa was well laid out and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was in walking distance of Tamarindo, its restaurants and beach and multitude of activities. Tamarindo catered well for my family including teenagers of 18 and 16. The villas rooms were spacious well laid out and we would recommend this location to other families. The private pool was perfect to cool off in and the gardens well maintained.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s really nice and the private pool is nice.
Cons: Location is a bit far out of town but we walked it and it wasn’t to bad. I think it’s expensive for what it is!!

Pros: Really nice breakfast, owners couldn't do enough to make sure you were comfortable and had a good breakfast. Really nice large memory foam bed! Really nice shower. Fridge and coffee maker available.
Cons: Wifi could have been better. Would like to be able to pay by credit card.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host, Mariana, was great - helpful and welcoming. Rooms were big and relaxing. Hotel is unique and one of a kind.
Cons: Nothing - it was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was kind and generous. She even gave us a cut off of her aloe plant to ease the sunburn! I immediately felt like I was meeting an old friend The room was beautiful and relaxing. The pool was perfect!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located very well - in a walking distance from the beach and cafes/restaurants, far enough from the noise. It has 5 charming rooms and common pool. Each room has everything that you need in tropical climate: A/C, fridge. Also you’ll find hair-dryer, TV, nice terrace where you can read a book sitting in a chair or lying on a bench. In a room you’ll find also coffee and coffeemaker. Proprietor is very nice woman, spanish-english speaking, very attentive to the needs of the guests. I enjoyed my stay there!
Cons: Everything was good. Travelers should understand that you can not control the weather (wind/sun) or presence of insects. That’s tropical country! Pura vida!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely, intimate little hotel. We loved the central swimming pool and gardens. The breakfast was good, especially the fruit salad. It was a bit further from town than what we'd expected, and not very well lit to walk home at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner was awesome, and a fabulous experience! It’s a cute private spot and they even make you breakfast in the morning!
Cons: Sometimes I could smell the septic system the whole town runs off of. This is a underdeveloped area with dirt roads and no use for heels lol
7.5 Good
Pros: Host is lovely, really helpful and extremely friendly. Out side bathroom. Breakfast was more than enough.
Cons: No sunlounger, no chest of drawers which would have been better than leaving case on the floor for 5 days. Swimming pool more like dip pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marianna is the most gracious and loving host. And her hotel is absolutely beautiful, charming, relaxing and calm. I felt very comfortable there, slept very well and felt very well taken care of.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The conceirge was super sweet and very helpful. Town was just a shirt walk away, but not too close that you had to hear all the parties at night. Great outdoor porches for relaxing!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. The location is good. It's near the center of Tamarindo and it's in a quiet spot so I was able to get good rest.
Cons: I liked everything. I missed having a microwave but other than that the stay was excellent.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great staff (esp Bel and Oriona). Helpful with getting acquainted with town and organising surf lessons (with Manuel). Very comfortable and clean rooms, inc good shower and toiletries, western standard. Once pool is finished it will be really great. Great location and good value in Tamarindo.
Cons: Building works to finalise the pool were not overly annoying but once finished will greatly improve hotel. Did not eat at cafe for this reason. Laundry pricey but no more so than anywhere else in town. Everything else really good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff super welcoming Amazing location Clean and peaceful Super nice internet Bed confortable
Cons: My only negative detail is that I had like a window in my room in the top of the room. In 5:30, the room was full of light and I couldn’t sleep anymore.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, off the main road so quite peaceful. Excellent breakfast and really nice owner/staff.
Cons: This place will be really lovely when it’s finished. Right now it’s still like a building site whilst they build the pool and surrounding area. The owner was very upfront when we arrived and told us about construction. Also had to pay cash on arrival when I thought my credit card had been charged by booking.com. Slightly misleading on the payment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well located. Staff super nice and gave us lots of tips!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was fantastic! Close to many nice restaurants.
Cons: The staff who handled my check in was very very slow both in the way she speaks and the way do does things. The premises didn’t feel very safe or secure. The back gate was closed at all times, but the front gate left wide open 24/7 anyone could come in and out. Locks in room door and window also very basic only. As a solo female traveller, I didn’t feel safe at night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and transparency of the staff, the swimming pool being in construction was a drow back for a moment but when the owner offer to cancel with out a charge and offer to help us to get another place that make me really believe this man was customer oriented business person putting us first. We decided to stay and loved it.The installation are true gem in the making. The owner really has thought about every aspect that is necessary. Loved the arquitecture Can't wait to come back.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: very new, very clean, very nice reception staff. The pool is close to be finished.
7.5 Good
Pros: The price, the rooms were nice with an awesome balcony. Wifi was working good and the staff was super friendly and helpful with everything. When we arrived there were pool constructions and we were told we can cancel for free if we don't want to stay with the constructions. We also received complimentary coffee and good tips on what to do in Tamarindo and other towns
Cons: Of course the constructions. Besides that, the payment process was only cash. The water didn't go down the shower drain quickly. AC wasn't so powerful (but it was a really hot day). I was told I received an email regarding the constructions before arrival but I checked many times looking for that email and really didn't find it.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: When you get there to pay they tell you, you have to pay 11% extra due an extra bank charge, however they are lying . First, all hotels have to add that percent to their price, but the problem is not that. The problem is that they steal from you. The Costa Rica legislation says that bank charge is only 5% and the bank also told us is 5%. So they lie to the customers and steal 6% because they charge 11% so if you go dont pay with card.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room itself is a little small but a great place with a great vibe. Steps to the beach. Amazing outdoor kitchen and cooking facilities. Shared bathroom is very clean and no lines. Great vibe to the place with the owner and people who stay there. Highly recommended!! Playa grande itself is very low key but very close the boats to tamarindo and all the action :)
Cons: Room was a little small and no pool to cool Off
7.5 Good
Pros: Pipe House is a beautiful and unique space. The common area was welcoming and cozy and I loved the lighting at night. Although the pipe is quite small, there is a spacious area underneath the bed for storage of larger items and you can use the shelves at the side to store clothes and other small items. The pipe was very cozy. The beach is absolutely beautiful and it is quite empty in comparison to Tamarindo. I recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing getaway, however it may not be the place to go if you want to do a bunch of activities as there isn't much going on. I loved the yoga shala and wished that there were some yoga classes scheduled, but I did some on my own and it was great. It was nice being able to rent a surfboard directly from Felippe ($20/day).
Cons: I couldn't quite figure out how to get the pipe to an optimal temperature. I often felt too cold or too hot as the unit blows right on you when you're sleeping. Additionally, I noticed that my bed sheets weren't changed even though I stayed for 4 nights. They tend to get dirty from sand and dirt so it would have been nice to have them cleaned at least once throughout the stay. Not the Pipe house's fault but I do wish there was a larger, more well stocked grocery store nearby. It's definitely easier to get around here if you have a car (I didn't). There were only a couple restaurant options nearby so be prepared to cook!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Filipe was fabulous... a very generous and gracious host. The environment was comfortable and welcoming. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed meeting other travellers.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Filipe was a kind and helpful host. The beds were super cozy and the bathrooms nice and clean. Was a very unique place to stay...would recommend.
Cons: The proximity to a town fell a bit short of expectations but not a big problem for us as we only stayed the night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: -Awesome concept -Easy surf access & surf equipment rentals
Cons: -While the concept is awesome there isn't a good solution for how to store your things -This place is in an amazing location for surf, but far from the restaurants and market.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, host and property! Loved this place!! So unique and well designed, great community feel, steps from a gorgeous beach not overrun with people... Surf Lessons available from Philipe (the owner), Id stay here again in a heartbeat! The pipes are awesome and give adequate space, beds are super comfy!
Cons: Regulating Air Conditioning in a Pipe takes some finesse ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We highly recommends this place. Its a must see in CostaRica. We had a great time at PipeHouse. Employees make everything clean and you see they work hard to make little improvements everyday. Felipe is an AMAZING host and make sure everything is perfect for every guest.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place! It is what it looks like. Best part of the place was free use of surf boards. The beach is steps away and is amazing! Best sunset!!! 1 minute boat ride to lively Tamarindo.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A really unique place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the shared areas were nice. We enjoyed being close to the beach.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I chose this place because of its uniqueness... steps from the beach, you can always hear the waves crashing... the pipes are a cozy little home. They definitely did not disappoint... the place is as cute and charming as the photos make you believe. It is also very clean and the cleaning staff work very hard to keep it up. Felipe is very welcoming and is always available either in person or via phone to answer questions and to arrange surfing lessons. Another plus is that Playa Grande is much quieter than nearby Tamarindo. Beach sunsets are the best!
Cons: It is best to have a car when you stay here because the beach is very hot and walking with luggage seemed like a daunting task. However, it is only a $25USD cab ride from Tamarindo... and if you are going for the day just a short walk and $1 boat ride away...

Pros: The apartment is beautiful and provided everything we needed. The apartment is in a quite side street but within walking distance (5 minutes) into the busy city centre. The host was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wifi didn‘t work properly in the top apartment but was fine downstairs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Evelin, and her daughter, Danielle, are the owners. She was amazing! Very accommodating and helped us in every way. This rooms are beautiful! There is the main house with a pool. The other rooms do not have access to the pool but are on a quiet property facing fenced yard. Though this property is literally off the beaten path, they will set you up with a golf cart rental before you arrive. They will also help schedule tours, which I thought were less expensive than other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was exceptionally clean, the bed very comfortable and the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The staff went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. They were friendly and accommodating. We were a short drive or walk to town with ample parking. We would definitely recommend Casa Leona for anyone visiting Tamarindo.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Fruendly of the staff
Cons: Room dimension was less the expectedd and sorry not as per owners description

Cons: Should have stayed longer.

Pros: We were out of the hectic, liveliness of the main street and beach area. We found it a quiet peaceful place to relax. Brad, the host, was very helpful when we needed anything. The rooms and property were spotless and the little pool area was very quaint. The breakfasts were delicious. We found it was a very relaxing place to stay.
Cons: We have no complaints.

6.8 Good
Pros: The room was very clean, the hotel was close to the beach and they had a book with information about local businesses, where to go to get food or drinks.
Cons: Even though WIFI was included, the signal was not strong enough to reach our room, so no WIFI for us. We only stayed there two nights, but we decided to skip breakfast on day two, since the fist one was kind of bad. Since I don't drink coffee, I basically had no other options and the pinto was not very good.

Pros: The hosts, Natalia and Matt, were simply amazing! The common areas were well organised to meet fellow travellers. The location is great, close to the beach, to restaurants and the local mini-market. Plus for the howler monkeys all around!
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Indra Inn. We stayed for 8 days. It is a very peaceful place. Beautifully landscaped. Very, very clean and well organized. The hosts Mathew and Nathalie were absolutely lovely, welcoming and very helpful. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms nicely designed. The small porch and hammock made it very pleasant to rest out of the sun. Hot water, good air conditioning. Lovely super clean communal kitchen and gathering space. A close line! (Little things mean a lot), Also laundry service is available. Bikes to rent $10 per day. Lending library. It was very safe. Playa Grande is a fantastic beach. Waves are great. Huge beach, so few people its hard to believe. You can walk a long way towards Tamarindo or in the other direction to a beach that we frequently saw with no one in sight. Interesting info about the turtles. We met some of the biologists working at the park and they showed us where they have rescued eggs. Nathalie told us about them. Enough restaurants to choose from. I would recommend Indra Inn for a solo female traveller. I would have felt very comfortable staying here if I was travelling alone.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Matthew and Natalia (owners) are great! They really make you feel at home. M has some great info on surrounding beaches, local restaurants and shops. He even knows which ATMs have the best rates! Natalia makes a great breakfast and is very accommodating to make sure you have a good stay. A/C was chilly, wifi was constant, room was very clean (no bugs in rainy season, yay!). 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Pros: Our host was very gracious and helpful with all questions we had regarding places to go and how to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitable owners and staff. Laid back Pura Vida feel for a local experience. Appreciated chatting with the owners and other guests at breakfast and made use of the lending library. With a hammock right outside my door it made the perfect combination for after beach, pre-nap relaxation.
Cons: While I appreciated the daily housekeeping service, it might be nice to also provide guests with an option to not have sheets or towels changed for water conservation. Like those little ‘opt out’ cards you can use to idicate that you don’t need them changed.
