Waterfront well maintained hotel. Ocean view rooms are great Pool is really satisfying. Beach is clean Staff is really great
No airport transfer was a disappointment, But i believe very limited hotels is providing that service in Cancun. It would be really nice to have it even with a fee...
The beach front
The good was terrible. They gave me the wrong room. They tried to fix it but wasn't what I paid for. I will not ever stay there again. And I will make sure to tell my friends as well about the experience. I paid a lot for a room that was overlooking a few buildings and a small sliver of ocean. Not what I paid for!!
The hotel is older and I believe one of the first hotels built in the area, but it is still a beautiful hotel. The room I stayed in was wonderful - travertine stone on the floors and in the bathroom. Loved the shower. The colors were earth tones, which have always been my favorites, and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone I encountered as far as staff were friendly and very efficient. I asked for more towels before leaving for a meeting one day and upon my return several fresh clean ones had been put in my room. The price was also very reasonable. Overall I would rate my experience and the hotel a 9.5. The only suggestion I would have would be for the owners. They should put a new coat of paint on the outside of the building, which would be one of the least expensive things they could do, and it would brighten everything up. I believe they had recently done so to the interiors. It's not a party hotel, and there are many of those in Cancun that have hip hop or house music banging all day and night. It's a place you can go and have a very relaxing time. Most of the guests were Mexican nationals, many with their families. I had a very nice time and would recommend the hotel to anyone.
The staff was very helpful, even though I had problems expressing what I wanted.
Must have been a leak in the shower above my floor, because the ceiling caved in on the last day there...
the rooms had a crisp clean feel. the phone service was good and the beaches were clean
when we arrived we were called by guest services to say they had a welcome basket. turned out to be a sales pitch.
Fantastic beach and pool area. This is one of the oldest hotels on the `Hotel Zone` strip and so has BY FAR the best position; some of the other newer hotels have very small beach areas and tiny pools. Intercontinental has two large pools, several bars/restaurants and masses of sunbathing/lounger space. Lobby is impressive. Next to golf course (although the course next to the Hilton about 1 mile away is better and half the price!) masses of free parking plus valet parking. Excellent value for money rooms via booking.com. Bed comfortable.
The room we had (a cheap rate $105) needed updating as it hadn`t been refurbished since the hotle was built I should think! Tiny oldfashioned bathroom and strange stone/concrete floor in the bedroom. Aircon was of the older type although it worked fine.
newly remodeled but lack of detail finish.nice pool and beach
lagoon side facing busy and noisy traffic and poor window noise abatement. When I requested to switch to ocean side,Ms.Fernades, front desk staff, showed no consideration to my issue and insisted a rate increase of 35% to switch. Why would I pay extra if I am already paying top dollar for this over rated hotel and extremely insensible to customer needs.
