Well mantained hotel, and a quiet location More variety at breakfast table. The bathroom in the second floor was very low in the bathtub area (the second floor rooms are attic like)
great staff, they could not do enough for us, excellent food too. our only problem was parking. the underground carpark was inaccessible. Once in we thought we would never get out!
Hotel staff was nice. The room was clean and with a nice big bed. The breakfast could be better (please change the brand of the yogurts). I would have prefered a bathtub instead of a shower. A plus also would be free internet.
Good smart, mostly clean hotel, with friendly staff.Sadly, the bedroom, on the last night, was not cleaned properly.Stayed 3 nights, towels not changed. Breakfast quite good, but dinner most disappointing. a strange menu, and not a lot of choice.Sad really, because the staff did their best to please us
The breakfast very nice and the location was excellent value for money. The hotel was nicely decorated.
The Hotel was very nice and modern. The pillow was very bad, to small...
Easy to find The price was too high compared to surroundings and comfort
Nice decorated rooms with retro style. We have to change the room, because the bath was leaking water, and after a shover the bath floor was covered with water and the water could flow in to the room if we wouldnt stoped it with towels. We had also some troubles in the second bathroom due to the pure maintenance. The location is also not so good at the crosing of two main roads, but the windows are good so the noise outside is disturbing.
The room was beautifully decorated with high-end furnishings, and it had a refrigerator. The staff, particularly Joao, was pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant is closed, apparently permanently, and there aren't many other options in the little village. Despite the hotel website's claim that there is free internet in all rooms, there is no internet, and it's apparently only in the planning stages. As a result, we cancelled the second night we had booked and moved to another hotel.
The chance for a pleasant weekend break
Casa do Lavre is a haven of peace in a small village in Alentejo. A place where you hear more birds than cars and with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. The staff made us feel very welcome and recommended some great places to eat. If you feel like taking a good book to a great terrace or poolside and can live without a TV set in your room, you'll probably enjoy your stay at Casa do Lavre. We certainly did! It wasn't a problem for us but access to the top floor suite would probably be quite difficult for anyone disabled as the narrow stairway is also quite steep.
