10.0 Excellent
Pros: I’ve stayed here several times; in fact this is the only place I will stay when I come to Normandy. The Chateau is unbelievable! It’s like stepping back in time and living like a member of the royal court. Chateau Canisy has been family owned for more than a thousand years and everyone there makes it there mission to insure that you have an unforgettable stay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 nights, the Chateau was huge, very well kept and amazing, with acres of grounds. The staff were friendly and meeting the lovely Countess was a bonus. This is not a 5* hotel as you would imagine, it is liked being invited to stay as friends for the weekend at the private castle of a French Count and Countess. Dining in the music room was a treat.
Cons: Nothing, just wished it was a little closer to where we live!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Château and lovely gracious staff. Our dinner was above and beyond fabulous.
Cons: I prefer a shower and there was only a bath
7.5 Good
Pros: The building is beautiful, and the grounds spectacular. It felt like staying a night at a museum. The staff was the best thing about our stay though. Yan was super helpful: she stayed late at the property waiting for us to arrive and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very nice and courteous. Patrice, the gardener, stayed up late waiting for us to come back from a late dinner so he could close everything and turn off lights after we arrived. They were awesome!
Cons: For the price, I expected better quality sheets. They were extremely rough and scratchy making the sleeping experience very uncomfortable. The breakfast was very simple. It felt weird to be completely alone in the property as we were the only guests and there is no 24 hour staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very special place. Grand but welcoming and comfortable. Wonderful stay!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful.. The staff was wonderful.
Cons: The rooms and furniture, rugs particularly were weathered .. although I understand it’s an old Château it had a musty smell..
5.4 Okay
Pros: the property when we actually found how to get into it was good
Cons: We were the only guests for both nights and this is not a hotel although it must have 50 rooms! - it would be excellent for groups of people but not a couple who wanted a hotel. There was a gardener whom we asked as to which door we had to go into when we arrived as they were all shut! and one member of staff to run everything in the 'hotel'. In fact there was absolutely no one other than us in the building during the night and most of the day. The meal we booked was a 3 course meal for 65 euros each and consisted of cold melon soup, poached farmed salmon with a packet herb sauce and rice with frozen peas and broad beans in it and a desert of strawberries in some liquor with a bought chocolate 'pudding' that wasn't really cooked. This was all prepared and served by the only member of staff, who was trying hard to be helpful although our communication wasn't very effective. We sat in splendid isolation in the dining room of the chateau which was designed for about 16 - 20 The owners agent visited us in the property and was extremely pleasant and helpful and we had a good chat before the one dinner we had there.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old Château. Dining in the music salon.
Cons: No kettle in room. No restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were the only two couples there. It was an absolute hoot. Staff was very accommodating. Prepared coffee/tea in the morning evening.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was just fine

Pros: This farm is in a wonderful location. Away from the crowds of many Normandy towns but also close enough to drive and tour any part of Normandy or Brittany. The house is beautiful and it's like stepping back in time when entering, the farm has been a here for hundreds of years. Breakfast were wonderful with homemade cakes, breads and jams. Dominique and her husband were very helpful with advise and information.
Cons: NA
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was included in the price. A simple continental breakfast of tea, coffee or hot chocolate with orange juice and bread and jam and/ or little cakes. The environment was delightful, in the heart of the countryside, beautiful woods and fields and pretty little towns. The house itself is in an old style for the bedrooms, The outside is charming with lovely rose bushes etc. The mattress was in good condition and firm. I slept well in the quiet surroundings.
Cons: The shower curtain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location...lovely hosts.....would highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dominique and Pierre are the best hosts! Pierre found 60 euros in the driveway and made sure he found who it belonged to and returned it (my spouse). Dominique offered to take us to and from a festival in Dangy...Cannot say enough kind thing. I love their donkey -: enen bought him a carrot. Homemade bread and jam.

Cons: Toilet in the room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful surroundings Peaceful break away form it all
Cons: Fresh bread at breakfast
4.2 Okay
Pros: Peaceful location
Cons: Place was very old and not kept up very well. Toilet was not in room. Breakfast was terrible (no croissants which you always get in France) and the bread seemed to be a day old (not fresh). The property owners did not (even) go out to the local bakery to get a fresh baguette in the morning! Would not go back.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice quiet location, lots of storage area. Dominique was very accommodating and a great host. Very nice home made jams!! certainly buy a pot to take home. Upstairs there is a fridge and microwave which guests can use to..

5.0 Okay
Pros: Pretty chateau in a tranquil setting.
Cons: Tired, dated interior. Quite grubby. Outside area pretty but in need of a lot of tlc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, we had great time
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice chateau-hôtel close to St Lo. In the middle of the country-side. Nice rooms in medieval style. Beautiful lounges and sitting rooms in medieval style.
Cons: Jacuzzi and table d'hôte were closed on Sunday. Jacuzzi quite expensive at 30€/person.
6.7 Good
Pros: Lovely place, nice setting
Cons: They had a young lad running or pounding around in the room directly above ours, both on the evening of our stay & also the next morning. It did make our stay not very enjoyable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: On arrival at the magnificent Chateau we were met by the charming and very beautiful lady of the house who made us feel very much at home she showed us to our magnificent bedroom at the top of a winding stairs.. the Chateau itself was amazing.. an experience to cherish and savour... the breakfast and evening meal were delicious.. We cannot wait to return!
Cons: There was nothing not to like!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the family room - was a suite so the kids could have separate sleeping quarters. Breakfast: excellent coffee machine and it was fun boiling our eggs. Dinner was excellent. Loved the towel warmer in the bathroom, and had plenty of heaters for the cool nights. Also, Cristelle packed us a bag of croissants “to go”!!
Cons: Would have liked to receive a printout of our bill before checking out. Also, it would have been more helpful if Cristelle was able to speak more English...my very broken French was not very sufficient
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Even though communication was sometimes difficult the staff was welcoming and very pleasant, Food was outstanding, and a lovely country setting with great period room.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfy the shower was goof
Cons: Lack lustre welcome, no reception area as such. It was like someone’s private office. Shown a room with a bath and shower on the wall and no shower curtain. I wasn’t happy and was given a far superior room with a proper shower. Why weren’t we shown this one in the first place. No milk to go with with complimentary tea and coffee in room. No mention of any facilities ie bar etc. One if the staff seemed to avoid us.
7.1 Good
Pros: Excellent and very convenient location. Magnificent environment / architecture - a classic French manoir. Elegant interiors tastefully decorated. Comfortable, room / bed. Calm and relaxing ambiance.
Cons: The path between the parking ground and the hotel entrance is gravel - if your cases are heavy / wheeled, best to deposit these before parking. Check-in was awkward - nobody present for +/- 10 minutes. The inevitable difficulties with routine maintenance in large estates - cracked windows due to absence of tie-backs for frames. Bathroom decor was poor and ill-considered (shower hose lies across the tub) - the bidet wasn't functioning and there were armies of ants in all areas - not a problem, just visually unappealing. Limited electrical points (trailing cables etc) - the wi-fi was difficult to use and ultimately inoperable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The grounds, the hospitality, the room, pretty much everything. Outstanding place to stay
Cons: The bathroom wasn't very private

4.6 Okay
Pros: Terrible place, by the buffalo grill on the side of the road. Depressing place.
Cons: Where it is
7.5 Good
Pros: There was nothing wrong with this hotel, it was your average hotel room which was clean and had a nice comfortable king size bed, we didn't have breakfast here. It was close to a supermarket and a few other shops, there was also a Buffalo Grill Restaurant within two minutes walk which was handy for dinner.
Cons: Having said that, I didn't love the hotel, it was just a box hotel without any character on a commercial estate. Luckily it was an overnight stop which was fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Place seems like it has been renovated recently. The floor was new, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was awesome. It is located a walking distance from a pasta place and a grill place. The bathroom also seems new.
Cons: The shower needs more attention to cleanliness. It might be normal in France but the guests are allowed to smoke inside and the smell was a bit uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, very comfortable. We even stayed for breakfast, which was lovely.
Cons: The bunk beds were very high and we would have preferred a safer rail so that the top bunk child couldn’t fall out.

7.9 Good
Pros: Easy to find, plenty of free parking, tea and coffee facilities and great location just outside the town's ramparts.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was in a good position by the river with some nice views from the rooms, it was Sunday so most of restaurants including the hotels were closed. The room was large and airy with a fan (no air con). There is a small bar downstairs.
Cons: Saint Lo itself bares the scares of war, which is in evidence by the view of the town. It might be better on another day, not Sunday.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: No a/c.... 32oC in the bedroom Very expensive for what we had.
Château D'agneaux - Agneaux - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
Located in Agneaux, Château D'agneaux is a 4-minute drive from Green Beach and 5 minutes from Museum of Fine Arts. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very original chateau, fantastic room, very large, very friendly owner, exceptional restaurant
Cons: a little bit cold
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, very well situated on top of a beautiful valley and the old castle is a treat. There is also a neighbouring restaurant which is very convenient. The manager was really friendly.
Cons: The neighbouring town of St Lô is nothing to write home about though that is compensated by the fact that the excellent roads can get you to Bayeux, the beaches or Caen quite fast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Old chateau managed by one member of staff. Very authentic. Secluded location. Parking at the premises. Nice breakfast with a view.
Cons: French speaking only :) Rooms are a bit cold and shabby.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: First impressions: Although the grounds were tired it was impressive and characterful from the outside.
Cons: It was closed when we arrived. There was simply a note on the door advising that the Chateau would open at 18.00 despite a request from us at the time of booking for a check in between 15.00-16.00. We arrived at 15.30hrs Whilst there was a contact phone number the note, it took 20 minutes for someone to arrive. There were no other staff. The Chateau was dark & fusty smelling. The room allocated to us was ill prepared. The room hadn’t been aired, the bed was damp, the chaise longue dirty and stained, the toilet smelled, there were no toiletries in the bathroom although my husband was later handed a bar of soap. All in all totally unsatisfactory and we were told that we’d been ‘upgraded to a superior room’ by the person that checked us in. Sign posts in the locality refer to Chateau D’agneaux as a 3 star hotel. This is most certainly not the case; it is not a hotel. The whole place was totally unwelcoming and we decided not to stay. We were unable to find the man to tell him of our decision to leave. We would not recommend that anyone stay here. We note that, when looking for another place to stay, booking.com was highlighting that there were only 3 rooms left at Chateau D’agneaux when, in fact the place was completely empty; there were no other guests.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Experienced a true castle, dating from the 1300s, yet with updated baths. Good variety of fresh breakfast choices, enjoyed in the Great Hall. Very good gourmet restaurant nearby with reasonable prices.
6.3 Good
Pros: Fabulous old building and site
Cons: Typical old chateau. Staff only there at 6.00 pm - in fact they live there and are the owners. No showers in the rooms. Took a suite to get a hand shower and some space. Very expensive decision. No restaurant. No english spoken. (I get by in French)
7.5 Good
Pros: Extremly nice and kind welcome by the owner. Great place to stay for a few days. Top restaurant around the corner. I can absolutely recommend this Chateau if you want a different experience compared to a regular hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A lovely environment, a magnifique castle.
Cons: We have booked a room for special price and I have noticed in the reservation that we will arrive around 9pm. At the arrival I have found nobody at the reception. After ringing on the doorbell a man arrived (possibly the owner) and asked what I would like to have. I sad I have a reservation, he didn’t know it. He told that he has not the room for that price which I have booked for and he offered me one for a price 40% more. Anyway I took it, as I have had no chance to have another accommodation at 9:30 pm. I think it is not good when the accommodation has a dispute with booking.com, finally the customer will lose on the deal....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fair - they were very attentive to our asks.
Cons: The room could use some upgrading - the bathroom tiles were coming up and were missing. Some areas needed to be cleaned with more attention. The refrigerator was unsat - black mold on the inside because it had previously been unplugged.
