Offering amazing views of the Pyrenees and Canigó Mountains, Mas la Serra is set in a charming 16th-century country house. It features attractive accommodation and a restaurant. Each heated room has wooden furnishings and beamed ceilings. All rooms come with heating, a desk and a private bathroom. Guests can enjoy a range of Mediterranean cuisine in Mas la Serra’s restaurant. There is also a lounge and a terrace. The surrounding Vall d’en Bass Valley is ideal for hiking and horse riding. The property is set in the village of La Serra de Pruit, a 30-minute drive from Olot.
Pros: My husband and I stayed 2 nights here. The place was perfect. The rooms are very clean, nicely designed. Big communal area with comfortable chairs and sofas, chess and board games. The location is great for nature walks, hiking or just relaxation. Good communication, and all necessary information provided by the host. The food was delicious and the service is excellent. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to return again in the future.
Pros: We loved the rural location and warm hospitality. I hope to return to Mas La Sera again very soon!!
Pros: nature, room, very clean, staff and breakfast
Cons: Given that there is nothing in the area a decent tv and good WiFi in the room would have worked wonders
Pros: A beautiful country house with a very friendly, helpful, and fair host. Perfect location for family hiking. One of our best vacation experiences.
With a stay at La Rectoria de Sant Miquel de Pineda in Sant Feliu de Pallerols, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and Volcano Museum. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Isolated oasis on the Via Verde from Olot to Girona. Beautifully restored accommodation with good food and wine. Hospitable hosts Scots/Catalan with good local knowledge.
Pros: The beautiful location with the peaceful surroundings in the middle of the countryside. The property is really beautiful. Goretti and Roy are great hosts. They gave us all information we needed about the area and were always available to help us!
Cons: Quite warm in the room. No AC.
Pros: We really enjoyed our visit. Roy and Goretti are wonderful hosts. We felt very welcome. They were very helpful in planning where to eat and what to see. Roy is a wonderful chef. We ate dinner at the Rectoria the four nights we were there. It was so nice to be able to stay at the B&B and not have to go out at night. Our dinners were delicious. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at dinner and breakfast. We highly recommend a visit to the Rectoria. It is a great starting point to enjoy the surrounding area.
Pros: This B&B is in a lovingly renovated building with much of the charm and feel of the original Rectoria. Garotti and Roy are just about the nicest people ever. The food was great and the location was easy to find (especially for being in a more rural area) and convenient to Olot, hiking, etc.
Cons: If you're looking for a luxury experience, go elsewhere. The rooms are very plain and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom is nicely updated and modern, but a few more toiletries would be nice. However, after speaking to Garotti it was clear that the rooms are this way intentionally to fit the more simple, austere feel of the Rectoria.
Pros: Wonderful food, delightful hosts, warm welcome, beautifully restored heritage building, local cheese, bread , cake, charcuterie for breakfast, gourmet evening meals ,in an interesting area with lots of walking /cycling opportunities, very green credentials,
Cons: Nothing really. For us dinner at 8.30 pm is a bit late but we understand that it is normal for Spain.Fortunately the food was deliciously light. Maybe another towel rail would be useful, for pool towels.
Pros: The property was beautifully restored in a simple but quality manner, totally in character with its environment. The place oozes with charm and informality, totally reflected by its owners who are always available with a smile and make time to talk and offer advice of where to go. Why would you get in a car to search for an evening meal when a beautifully presented and cooked meal is offered on site? Breakfast was also simple local foods, with lots of home made goodies. A wonderful stay with lovely hosts!
Cons: Evening meal menu on board for following night looked equally tempting. Could have easily stayed longer! This is not a place for fussy eaters as there is no choice of menu. Not a problem for us. Am sure that prior notice of any allergies would have been considered. Don't expect a restaurant choice - but you are guaranteed great cooking!
Set in the Mediaeval town of Rupit, the family-run Hostal Estrella offers free Wi-Fi and comfortable rooms. This tranquil rustic guest house is located 30 km from Vic. The surrounding area is popular for hiking and excursions. The Estrella has a tour desk and is 25 km from the Garrotxa Volcanic Nature Reserve.
Pros: The staff! Lovely, helpful, friendly. We were here the weekend of protests in Catalunya. Our server called her son in Girona in the evening and again in the morning to check on things there since she knew we wanted to visit the city! All was well! They also remembered us from when we stopped there the first time, just for lunch. Rooms are clean and many have lovely views across the valley. Very good food, service and atmosphere in the dining room. Rupit is a very small town! Great base for walking/hiking or a stop along a larger journey-but well worth it.
Pros: Beautiful hotel, the restaurant is good. A peaceful place to place in the middle of the town.
Pros: A lovely family hotel with amazing athmosphere, in the middle of the magical historical town, warm hospitality and unforgetable dinner. Quality, cleanless and deep love of the owner family to their "baby". Our motorbikes parked in the closed garage, a bit away from the hotel, but we were transfered by a golfcar :) We were totally surprised why they do not have at least 4 stars. I've trawelled all around the world during the last 25 years, but Estrella is one of my best Hotel experiences for sure! Highly recommend! We will surely return for a longer stay.
Cons: Cannot say any
Pros: Staff extremely friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Nothing - amazing experience
Pros: Excellent location, great breakfast with-kind friendly stuffs.
Pros: amazing little hotel, super nice views, perfect location, super friendly staff, excellent food. they're only amazing things to say. the attention to detail is perfect. i really really enjoyed it!
Cons: nothing it was PERFECT!
Pros: I strongly recommend Hostal Estrella to everyone traveling around Cataluña. Rupit is a beautiful madieval village, and the Hostal is the place to stay. Luis Manuel and Susana will welcome you and make you feel a member of the family from minute one. Their daughter Estrella as well, always with a smile on her face spreading good energy. The restaurant has a great menu and IMHO deserves a Michelin Star!! :)) I will come back for sure....
Cons: Food is so good that I gained 2 kg in 3days:))

Pros: Room is very nice as well as the food. Very soft bed and very comfortable facility. Strongly recommended !
Pros: Fabulous location, in the heart of this small village. Plentiful breakfast. Peaceful at night.
Pros: Lovely little town and hotel is well located in the centre. Room was clean, large and nicely appointed. Staff were accommodating. We had to leave early so the staff graciously changed our included breakfast for dinner which was a lovely surprise. I would stay again anytime.

Featuring a terrace with superb mountain views of the Garrotxa area, especially the Vall d'en Bas Valley, Santuari Sant Feliu de Pallerols is set in the Garrotxa Volcanic Nature Reserve, 20 km from Olot. Rooms are heated and feature simple décor. There is a TV, free WiFi and a bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. The restaurant offers Catalan cuisine, made with fresh produce and mixing traditional and modern touches. A buffet breakfast is offered. Free parking is available. You can hire a bicycle on-site. L’Escala and the beaches of Roses Bay are a 90-minute drive away.
Pros: The chef was amazing. The lunches were particularly stunning. The finest Catalan cuisine. The pork fillet on apple sauce was my best dish of the year!
Cons: Would have liked to have yoghurt and Weetabix at breakfast.
Pros: This hotel is outside of any village. It is a lonely place in the mountains on 1000 m sea level. It belongs to the catholic church I believe as it seems to be a former monastery as there is a church also attached. The terrace and the view are spectacular. They serve dinner with various options and they do a good job on this. There is a big parking and from there all kind of people from the area come to start some hiking.
Cons: The furnitures in the hole building are pretty spartanious. Monastery style.
Pros: The view, the calm, the owls.
Cons: We arrived late because the hotel is actually 25 minutes away from San Feliu de Paillerols, we had to go back from where we came and then up a narrow and winding road. Our fault, but it was difficult to find...
Pros: The place with with the most breathtaking view ever! Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and very kind. The silence in the place is really sounding... it’s something unbelievable. Definitely one of the most romantic places on Earth! And a must visit in Catalonia. We enjoyed very much a dinner - delicious cuisine and once again with a breathtaking view on sunset in the mountains. We were shocked in the morning by the beauty of the sunrise. So it’s a perfect escape where you feel yourself part of the nature and start thinking of eternity. The only thing I don’t understand is how they manage to keep the prices so normal for such a great place? Thank you very much for our marvelous stay!
Pros: Location was stunning. The food was really good. The staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly....exceeded our expectations.
Cons: We found the rooms very minimalistic.... not very comforting. There was no air conditioning...while we experienced a heat wave.
Pros: The location of the property was simply amazing, with incredible views. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good as well, the staff friendly and the service fast.
Pros: Spacious, calm, unparallelled setting. A genuine sanctuary.

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: High speed wifi. Free and easy parking.
Pros: The reception was excellent the restaurant recommended belonging to the hotel was superb. Es Moreno. Will be returning.
Pros: The customer service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make our stay special. We enjoyed a terrific dinner at the restaurant as well. The parking garage and bike shelter were also appreciated.
Pros: Excellent place. The location is awesome, with a magnificent view. The staff were very friendly. There is a pool, and the environment is perfect for a quite vacation. The breakfast was very good compared to European standards. I would definitely visit again if the opportunity presents itself.
Cons: Unfortunately, the pool does not have a lifeguard, and it is not fenced during the night. We were travelling with kids so we had to keep an eye out.
Pros: Large room with own balcony/terrace and enormous bed Swimming pool in the middle of a large garden, with nice views of the mountains Professional and friendly staff Quiet and peaceful rural environment The breakfast, as most food in this region, was brilliant Private parking
Cons: While not negative for us, if you do not eat in the in-house restaurant, Olot is some 15 mins away by car, but does offer plenty of good restaurants. I read some comments below on cleanliness, I found them not true - while you might find some things not being top notch clean, eg an old spider web, bear in mind this is a rural hotel - what was very clean was what was important to us - the bathroom and the bed linen. We had a very relaxing time and would not mind visiting again!
Pros: Perfectly clean great location views are amazing staff very friendly.
Pros: The staff was very kind and the breakfast was excellent
Cons: The third bed on our room (sofa bed) was not comfortable
Pros: Good wifi in rooms, great access to facilities from the room and the location is simply stunning. Staff are really friendly and happy to help. Room was clean and the building itself was very very beautiful.
Cons: We came in mid October and it was almost as if our experience was less because the hotel was “open”, albeit with a skeleton staff. Everything seemed just a little bit... ad-hoc? We were the only people there, out of every room for 2 days... it felt dead, almost as if it wasn’t meant to be open but they opened for us. At the end of the day, it was a nice place but just a bit “eerie”
