Pros: Spent several nights at the Pilgrim's Rest in September 2019, owing to temporary work in Dungarvan. This is a simple, basic hotel in a scenic location. I found it to be clean, comfortable, quiet and very affordable. The owners were helpful throughout the stay and I would have no problem in recommending.
7.9 Good
Pros: Pleasant and quiet location, room, and ensuite clean, bed comfortable. Relaxed atmosphere.Location suited our purpose.
Cons: My wife who had the continental breakfast, found it to be fairly basic. I decided not to have one. The internal decor, fixtures and fittings were pretty antiquated and could do with an overhaul.

Pros: A quiet location with pretty surroundings and secure parking facilities
Cons: Would have liked tea/coffee making facility in our room rather than having to use the lounge facility late st night/ early morning

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed one night but we would have been happy to stay for longer. The host couldn't have been more welcoming. The hotel is set in a beautiful location and just an hour's drive from Cork. There was ample parking which was accessible through a secure gate - the extra security was nice. Breakfast is on offer in the restaurant however, we wanted a lie in so we skipped it. However, we were impressed with the selection of different teas and coffee (including decaffeinated tea and coffee which other hotels didn't offer) that were available in the communal lounge which is available to guests 24/7. It was great having proper milk (both full and semi skimmed) rather than the little UHT pods like in other hotels and the biscuits were tempting too. Our room was very nice, very clean and homely and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious. We would definitely be happy to stay here again and will recommend the Pilgrims Rest to friends and family.
Cons: No complaints : )

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a fantastic stay. It is a beautiful property located right next to the monastery at Mount Melleray. The room was small, but very comfortable, furnished beautifully with antiques, and with a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. Best of all, the proprietors are incredibly friendly and accommodating. After a long day of travel, it was such a gift to be received with a cup of tea and a good conversation. And the price was perfect. My only regret is that I could not stay longer.
Cons: Really, my only regret is that I could not stay longer. It was a lovely stay, beginning to end, in a beautiful space I would be happy to visit again.
