Excellent location to beach, very clean, and tasteful decor. This small boutiq hotel in the very natural setting interconnected with residential villas which give the intermat feeling. Satff are very firendly. We are very happy to chose this hotel. The bath room is very clean, contemperary, we liked it very much, however, the countertop for the sink, is wood which getting stiky and not pratical, should change to stone or tile. This is only little drawback.
Beautiful hotel in an amazing Location with friendly staff. A Car is essential though.
Great location and view. the waiting staff were not very warm; no friendly greeting when met in the hotel; actual desk staff were friendly
For a 2* the breakfast room and choice are good. There was a lift and the town was right on the doorstep so you could stroll anywhere. I resented paying a double room rate, even though a single rate existed, simply because there were few rooms available. It was presented as a take it or leave it scenario. The room itself was in the annex not the main hotel, with a tiny shower room. Reception staff were surly, why do such a job if you can't be half pleasant to someone you've never met before?
At the beginning I tought that to' be' in the center of Portovecchio was going to be a good idea, instead it's just a small and really expensive town, not worthed to book an hotel in the center of the town, instead an hotel outside and go back and forward with the car is better, naturally you can visit Portovecchio in just one day so ... The Holzer have a parking lot that is useful and is really cheap (to be in the center of portovecchio) That's my experience: hotel on the first and second floor really dark, bathroom really old style (like the one of my grandmother) but clean. Bed really uncomfortable, double bed, room fornitures minimalistic. Internet wireless not working on the third floor and when I went to the concierge (a lady with glasses) she behaved like if it was my problem, like if it was working and I was mistaking and like if "I'm sorry I cannot help you because nobody can fix it today". It could be easier a simply "sorry is not working but you can use our wireless spot in the entrance/base floor" (but that's too easy for egocentric peoples). By the way, my Internet connection was working downstairs in the ground floor without any change ... Silly peoples
The hotel is nearby the historic city center. Our room was spacious and the breakfast was rich. The parking lot is a few hundred meters from the hotel, and it does not look safe at all (nothing happened to the car, by the way).
The location of the hotel was good The single room was tiny and located next to the lift,so was noisy. very noisy hotel with constant slamming of doors day and night.
Our stay at this hotel was comfortable becasuse of kindness of hotel staff, good garden view from our room and services of restaurant staff. I think that this hotel is worthy of four star class.
Area, Decor, Staff. Not that I didn't like it, but you definately need a car if you stay here.
The access to rooms was very poor as no lift, many walkways and stairs which are hard to negotiate with luggage especially for older clients. No porter service. Evening meal was very expensive but very limited in quality and quantity. Service in restaurant was inattentive, eg no hot water for breakfast, orange juice carafe not filled. Needed to remind staff to check these things.
The quiet and silent atmosphere, the comfort of the room (spacious, with a nice setting and a view on the garden and the swimmingpool), the overall setting (nice garden, good mediterranean style) the excellent and abundant breakfast in the garden The location (peripheral area, close to te main road to Bastia) although once in, you immediately appreciate the nice and quite ambient of both the interiors and the external spaces of the hotel (garden, swimmingpool)
We visited the hotel early in October so found it quiet. The views towards the sea from the bedrooms are stunning. The breakfast waitress was particularly friendly and efficient. Being towards the end of the season, some of the facilities were not available (eg restaurant) and the manager had started to put outdoor furniture away.
Large room with excellent beds and a stunning view over a beautiful landscape. The sunset is spectacular! Large bathroom that is as the rest of the place in very good condition.
The location is very good. Overlooking the mountains.
Location We use to travel around the world because our jobs and use to stay are several hotels but sorry to say the people in charge of the guest are really unpleasand and you feel they don't enjoy receiving people at the hotel. Specially unsociable is the person behind the desh: not only never helps you when asking about places or maps even when we left the hotel last day at 7 am he was not able to offer us a cup of coffee or kind words of leave-talking (the service was preparing the tables for breakfast) after paying more than 1200 € !!!.Another recommendation: if you want to have breakfast better wake up at 8 am, otherwise you'll loose the poor breakfast the hotel offers...and becasue the bad humour of service eople prefers not to ask for it
the atmosphere is very good!! the light in corridor is cleard too quickly.
there is no wifi.
The Miramar Boutique Hotel was a highlight during our 2010 Corsica Trip: Very stylish and modern room and facilities, very warm and attentive staff, excellent food, recommendable also to young families
Miramar is a lovely hotel, and the staff was unfailingly polite and friendly. Our room was beautiful. We ran out of toilet paper, and had to call the front desk to have it brought up. In a 4star hotel! Dinner in the restaurant was way too long (21/2 hours), and the place is too expensive overall. We arrived tired, so chose to have lunch at the hotel while our room was being cleaned. I was charged 25 Euro for a club sandwich (the menu said 19 euro, but because I chose fresh tuna instead of chicken, there was a surcharge.) The staff tried hard to accomodate our wishes, but were ultimately unsuccessful with all our requests (boat rental and canyoneering). Surely this is not the first time guests have wanted to rent a boat - in a beach resort! Too expensive for what you get.
We loved this hotel! Perfect Boutique hotel, in a quaint city. The staff were fantastic, the room was impeccable with a spectacular view and balcony. Breakfast included by the pool was amazing, we just wished we had stayed longer.....
The room and the terrace. Service and staff was probably the worst I have ever had. This is not Small Luxury hotel, it is just small hotel. Terrible breakfast, service and staff behave very arogant to us. This all for 400 eur per night.
We felt very confortable in this hotel, the members of staff were charming. The public areas, especially the gardens and pool were delightful. Buffet breakfast very good. An easy 10-15 minute walk down to the restaurants in Propriano - sadly we did not eat in the hotel, as we found the menu prices a little expensive, ditto the mini bar prices in the room. The public beach is across the road, but we found access to it from the hotel quite easy. We would stay here again, given the opportunity.
Friendly staff , relaxed atmosphere, pleasant breakfast on the terrace No wifi, traffic noise, steps to terrace
Stunning location, beautiful design and comfortable rooms. Very child-friendly, with children's menu and toys, without being a noisy children's hotel. We had to wait until 3pm to check in, really. Also a bit expensive compared to other hotels in the area.
Good price and location. Very quiet.
breakfast in the garden, breakfast included in room rate the smell of the room
Good price, buffet breakfast, very simple Unable to lock balcony, not good first impression of the room (became much more better after puting there some fresh air), not comfortable showering
Near the seaside Poor equipment, car and motorbike park with access to everybody.
the kindness of the people, the service and the price/quality ratio twinbed is rather small - sometimes guests are making noice, especially those which arrived with the touring car busses
breakfast included Really really old toilet with muld. No shower. To take one you have to extract the tap from the sink(full of muld as well). The window curtain was really old and made of plastic and very noisy during the night when the wind was moving it.
Landing at Figuri late evening and then having quite a delay picking up our hire car and then finding, in the dark, your hotel it was apparently sheer luck that someone was about to show us where our room was as by then as we were so late, reception was closed ! Got very muddy feet going towards the only lit door we could see. Otherwise everything very satisfactory. good breakfast. As above
I liked the customer service, the cleaning, the restaurant, the room. The place is amazing. The people in the hotel are lovely.
The layout of the hotel with the individual bungalows - and the pool - it felt very relaxing - good for evening swim on day we arrived and invigorating in the morning after a good breakfast before we left
The staff were friendly and helpful, facilities including the pool area were good. The breakfast was good and the avialability of a fixed price menu was helpful. The food on the fixed price menu was excellent. The accommodation was basic but good value. The hotel was quite a way from anywhere. You will need a car.
The room was really nice not the usual French seaside. The room had stone walls and beams although mock really worked well. I would definetly stay again. Very clean and had obviously recently been refurbished.
good location, free parking, nice view from the window hotel stuff don't speak english. Soundproofing is bad and in the morning I was awakening by sounds of other guests.
the room was clean and the staff was friendly. The view was wonderfull.
The romantic dining setting in the garden. Too far from Corte is you are visiting, which we were originally doing. We did however like the quiet dining setting.
Central location in Southern Corsica. Very nice view on the valley (it's worth the extra cost). Too much noise in the hotel of undisciplined travelers smashing doors, talking in the hallway and pulling trolleys (mostly coming by bus for one night). Impossible to sleep after 6.00 in the morning. Bath tub with only hand shower and no curtain so you need to sit to take a shower.
It was nice. The price si different if you choose a room facing valley or city.
The location and views are unbeatable - this is definately THE place to stay in Sartène! The car park is a major plus point as otherwise it is impossible to park - the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk to the heart of the town. This is the cleanest hotel we have stayed in and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was a small fridge in the room which was great for storing our own drinks and snacks. Another major plus is the availability of free Wi-Fi in the rooms as well as the public areas. Overall, an excellent hotel and we would highly recommend it. The hotel is popular with coach parties, making it impossible to sleep past 7am. It put us off eating in the restaurant (although there are many places to choose from within walking distance). Breakfast is very basic with no choice which didn't suit us - also only served until 09:30. The rooms are scrupulously clean but with just a small bath where a shower would be better.
The room was small, however, the view from the bedroom was outstanding, and worth a visit. The town was interesting to explore. The price was fair.
Service at the Reception desk (Avelino is a nice guy, very professional), and especially the view on the valley from the balcony of the room: amazing!!! Efficient air conditioning. No fan in the bathroom, and quality of the bed (mattress and pillow) not that good
Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice views, perfect location.
We arrived late, but found an envelope with my name with directions to the room. Nice! Next day personal was also very friendly and speaking excellent English. The water in the shower was hardly warm. The room is tiny i.e. you have 50cm of free space around your bed. In the same time you have some entrance space with fridge and TV and also both shower and bath.
Room was cleaned every day with new towels Would have been nice if there were coffee making facilities in room
Room had a lot of character, and the staff were absolutely lovely Really hard to find, the signs for the hotel actually say Carnella Villiage, we arrived at night time and when we got our keys we the village isn't lit and we couldn't find our apartment. Don't buy the 12€ breakfast!
The hotel room, which turned out to be a large apartment akin to a semi detached villa....2 bedrooms, 2 en suites, fully kitted kitchen, lounge area, patio with garden furniture. (Booked for a couple). Also just yards from the excellent swimming pool. The stay was at the end of the season thus some of the hotel s facilities were closed or closing......for instance the beach bar. Restaurants and bars in the area were also closed or closing. This is not the fault of the hotel, as overall the value for money rating was 10/10
The quietness. The hotel reception staff were good, and I visited the restaurant to look at the menu and ask about the food. However when I came back in the evening with my wife, the service was very poor. There was only one group already eating, but after being shown we could sit anywhere, we waited about 15 minutes before the menus were brought to us. Then the waiter couldn't speak any English so I tried to ask for the person I had spoken to earlier. The waiter went off but after waiting again without anyone returning to reassure us, we decided the service was very poor and just left to go into Porto Vecchio.
Location, the high standard and cleanliness of the whole hotel, rooms, restaurant and beach area. The courteous and helpful staff and management, nothing was too much trouble. Their attitude and service was priceless, what a delight to experience these day'S. Nothing.
The location is exceptional and the hotel is very charming... I loved the simplicity, comfort and especially the beach
relaxing, private, far away from city and hectic, beautiful atmosphere, very clean and organised. all service staff should be able to speak english, F&B options should be increased
The staff were very fiendly and helpfull. The service was excellant. The 50% off the suite was great (stayed two nights in the end). The hotel bar has prices you would find in a club in Ibiza. But the local resteraunts bars catered for all budgets.
Location, bedroom decor and amenities Le Rouf restaurant next door - overpriced and underachieving.
The friendly attitude of the staff, the comfort of the suite and the beach. 5 Star service Some of the charges e.g €14 for two coffees. Also the fact that breakfast was not included in the costly room rate.
Everything about this hotel was faultless. We were delighted with our room which gave a plenty of room for the 3 of us( big bathroom) and the view was stunning. We not only faced the beach but our balcony sat just above sand level. The staff were charming warm and friendly and most helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
service and the beach Restaurant price.Fresh fish which comes from local sea not imported, too expensive.57 euro for a small fish."Gold is chipper".
The whole experience, resulting from the combined low key apporach and high quality service
the staff were very friendly and helpful, location was near the centreville no dislikes
good located, nice pool, good view, comfortable athmosphere
Located smack in the middle of Porto Vecchio, and the pool area has a fresh feel to it. Breakfast (albeit basic) is included in the room rate. Parking included, but be aware there are limited space (in particular in the evenings). Free wifi internet. Certain hotel staff acted highly rude, didn't extend basic courtesy to guests. very basic rooms (two star quality, definitely not three star) and simple bathroom facilities. Left our room keys on the reception counter with an open hotel entrance door at night for anyone to take them, this is totally unacceptable.
The hotel has a good standard og nice pool area with lounge environment and bar. It is situated just few hundred meters from Porto Vecchio old town with a lot of restaurants. Friendly staff.
The warm welcome from all the staffl, Lauren in particular, was very refreshing. Room service for breakfast was provided with an cheery, sincere, greeting. The location, a short five minute walk from the town square and majority of restaurants an shops, was excellent. Sea View room description was accurate and the petit de jenue (breakfast) served on our balcony every morning was a highlight of our day. Private secure parking is provided on site and this was important to us too. From an American's perspective, the cost seemed a bit high for the standard of room decor and furnishing. However, the room was comfortable and all the basics were there: hot water, good water pressure, flat screen TV. Downside: only English channel was a financial/stock market report. Also, there were no grab bars to get in and out of the very high tub/shower. I recognize that this reflects American expectations and experiences and am not registering this as a complaint, just a difference in perspective for fellow travelers.
Nice vew from the rooms Price?
Friendly and helpful greeting. Good position for the old town. Closed garage. Room atmosphere a little stale. Lighting far too subdued.
very convenient and well located. The swimming pool area is great. The hotel needs a serious refurbushing!! The garage is too small!!
when requested, breakfast was brought up to our room promptly. My wife and I found the hotel staff to be generally unfriendly and hostile. Although we are young (25 & 27), we are highly qualified professionals, but were treated with disrespect on numerous occasions. Setting the tone for our 6 night stay, while checking in we had to endure a horrible attack from the supervisor, who berated me for merely querying the simple requirement that we pay upfront. Whether it was because we we could not speak French fluently, or were assumed to be British I do not know. However, the staff maintained an abrasive and most unwelcoming attitude toward us for the duration of our stay. I am still offended and deeply regret selecting this hotel for our holiday.
I have been charged for one more night on my credit card, and I am going to contest this.
