The hotel is perfectly situated: close to the sea and the golf court. The restaurant was excellent with favourable prices concerning the wines. bathroom was a little bit small and there was no minibar / fridge in the room
Rooms were very clean, well equiped with bath, shower and tea making facilities. Staff always very friendly and helpful. There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel, but for anyone that is considering staying here you do really need a car if you plan on going further than lecanua-ocean
Nice restaurant, great buffet breakfast. Located away from the middle of town, therefore quiet and relaxing. Front desk was helpful and spoke adequate English. Ample parking.
The location was excellent. The breakfast was good value for money. The evening meal was only okay. The room needed updating. My son's camp bed was broken and uncomfortable - he ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor.
Helpful staff, lovely golf course, wonderful weather, convenient location
Freindliness of staff and food in resturant Swimming pool was not clean and had algea
Easy reach of Bordeaux and the sea. Quiet at this time of year. It was my wife's birthday and there was no problem borrowing champagne glasses. Breakfast a really good choice. Would have liked an indoor swimming pool and spa
Room overlooked Horse complex Pool facilities were only free to hotel residents even though apartments are more expensive to hire. £44 for 2 adults & 1 child is not staying in hotel.
The relaxed countryside feel and friendly staff. The local cycle track network. Being able to watch horses training and jumping in arena from room balcony
The staff was friendly. Most of the staff spoke some English, which was helpful because I know only a little French. Th blow dryers were not that great. I would appreciated an iron in my room. I wouldve like to be able to switch the tv to enlish.
nearby the sea too much noise of the trafic; too much noise of playing children
location was excellent, on site facilities good, apartment well equipped and in excellent condition. menu availability for children limited on site for evening meal and daytime menu finished 1st september as did bicycle hire on site.
Beautiful location and very quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Some of the staff were a little surly and off-hand at times (but mostly they were friendly and helpful).
Relaxed rural setting Lack of chairs in bedroom and lack of English Television channels
Very friendly and clean. Not very English friendly . All menus were in French. More suitable for families rather than couples
very nice family orientated resort, friendly staff, great facilities for kids no
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The accommodation was very good, especially for a short stay. Everything seemed clean and well kept. The evening meal was superb and the service excellent. I would recommend the hotel to friends. no
Freshly refurbished, very clean and M & Mme les Patronnes were very friendly.I would re-book it in the future. Nothing
Proximity of room to pool. Brilliant for cycling based holiday. Ease of access to room. Quiet surroundings. Very pleasant host (excellent english speaker). Due to exchange rate breakfast in hotel is currently expensive but shops and cafes only 10 mins cycle/5mins drive away.
hotel owners were very friendly and helpful
our room was serviced very well daily - very quiet at night - staff friendly and helpful - breakfast was very minimal and never varied - there was not really a proper bar and an awful lot of rules about food in rooms etc
It is a quietness place
We found the accommodation very clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful. At this time of the year it was very quiet. Being from New Zealand, it was very nice to have the BBC English Channel for the news. No complaints really....would have been nice to have the shower arranged over the bath, however the fittings for the shower rose over the bath were adequate.
Calm, nice, near beach, clean breakfast little "light" for the price
The very friendly service and the cleanliness of the room There was a rather strange smell in the room, which was probably due to the cleaning materials. However, the room was very clean.
Hotel staff were excellent - knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
Wonderfully friendly reception and the suite (Ceridwen?) was huge and luxurious, with enormous balcony and sun-lounge as well as 3 other rooms.
The room, the staff, the breakfast, the location, the free wifi, the parking. I thought it was overpriced by about 10 euros a night.
Very friendly staff, good communication skills.
the setting was beautiful. You feel like you are staying in a Chateau. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was very good. It was all buffet (including coffee), but you can request espresso or cappucino..We really enjoyed our stay the staff are not very visible, (don't expect to be pampered) but we had everything we needed and were very satisfied with everything. If you arrive late you should call and they will make arrangements to leave the key for you.
very helpful personnel and friendly people good restaurant in a hotel hotel rooms were not clean at all and the carpet was like from the 15th century...
Location and price. Near the beach. Bed was not comfortable.
The staff were unhelpful and I have 6 year old twins and a disabled elderly mother. No help with the bags. Then at check out Breakfast was added to my bill when I was not even asked if I had had any which we had not.. Light bulbs were asked to be replaced when they were not working and no-body came. The front of desk man very rude.
Stopped at many small shops where the keepers and staff were all very welcoming and gracious, and if you'll pardon the generalization, the case is not the same in many other areas of France, Body surfed in the early morning and then checked out the surf lessons being given on the beach. Many years ago, I taught surfing at "Pops" in Waikiki, and was curious to hear the instructor's rap. The lesson was very complete with lots of stretching (we never did any in our lessons) and many of the students actually caught waves. Lacanau Beach is a relatively reliable beach break. It was a solid shoulder head high with occasional bigger sets both days I was there. Got a tasy and cheap 5e sandwich that was stuffed with salad and chicken. Good value In No the hotel was great! It's right at the top of 20 steps to the beach, nd there's a beach shower at the head of the stairs. The only suggestion I'd have is a little WD-40 in the sliding windows because the salt air was having at the slider tracks. Sorry I didn't read your web reviews.
The staff were friendly, the bed was very comfy, the room was quiet. for what we paid per night, it was a realy deal. We have travelled to a lot of places around Europe now and stayed at some average places and this was an excellent hotel and location.
nothing great everything just ok we asked for extra pillows but were not supplied
Interesting location close to the beach Difficult to get cool air, noisy outside with open window
Very forthcoming and polite staff.Three-course menu with good quality/price.I could watch the waves from the room.Good off-season price.Free wi-fi and parking. The staff above all,I was impressed by how polite and helpful they were all the time(well done!) The area where one changes after a surfing session is downstairs in the garage which is too dark to see things, cold, and the pavement is dirty(car tyres of course,as it is regularly swept),it should be improved as the place is in a famous surfing area,europewise.Sat-TV would be an interesting bonus.
Friendly, welcoming. Excellent restaurant
Good cuisine and good wine in the restaurant. I really enjoyed them. It was also good to have a bathtub in the room. The wall is so thin. Unfortunatelly there was a familly whose children made a noise until midnight and it bothered us very much. I woke up because of this noise!
Charming owners who are were very helpful and friendly. Also very well positioned for visits to the Haut Medoc. Also, for wine lovers, a good hotel retaurant with a good range of wines from Listrac. The hotel owners also introduced me to a good producer of local wine. Rooms need updating and are a bit spartan. Wifi really only works in the restaurant and not in the bedrooms.
The wonderful chef offered the wonderful beefsteak, and the waiter was very kindly, keep you family feeling deeply. They do them better for everyone!
From the moment we walked in we were treated as long time friends. I had sent an email in advance to see if they offered hair dryers in each room. I received an email indicated they could make one available during my stay, and when we checked in they presented me with a hair dryer for my use during our stay. They didn't speak a lot of English, but I don't speak a lot of French, but we managed beautifully. The hotel/restaurant has been in the family for decades and during an absolutely fabulously gourmet dinner, our waitress/hostess, Fanny, who also checked us into our room. Was one of the children in the old time photo on the front of the menu. The room was small, but charming and clean. We loved our stay! No, there is nothing we didn't like about our stay. It was fantastic!
Located in very small village Listrac, directly by the bus, main road, 10 minutes driving distance from Pauillac, 30 minutes driving from Bordeaux. Food prepared in hotel by the owner is fair, but definitely not a choice for 'foodie' person. Great place if you need a roof over your head near major Chateaux of Medoc. This place has rather family place then a professional hotel facility. The images of the hotel on their website are only accurate as far as inside. Their attempt to make an impression the hotel is located in the middle of wine country with vineyards is inaccurate. WiFi does not reach to some hotel rooms. Not a luxury hotel by any mean.
