Location is awe inspiring. The Parador itself is perfect in almost every way with the luxury that we AMIGOS have come to expect to enjoy at reasonable rates. A common flaw in Paradors seems to be the the rather brusque attitude of the senior reception desk staff where " please" is the hardest word.
We liked very much the atmosphere and the restaurant where we had a wanderfull meal no comments
The way the hotel design integrated with the medieval city ..Food and service was excellent
The amazing location and views.
Professional staff and comfortable accomodation.
Friendly helpful Staff. Good sized room and good quality bathroom and toilet facilities with lots of little extras. Not you run of the mill plastic bulk standard. Should extend WiFi from common areas to rooms. Adsl available in rooms but who carries a lan lead these days? Breakfast available from 8 am not much good for business travellers or early risers or those wanting an early start.
The facilities were excellent, parking easy and pleasant surroundings Food was good but the menu a little limited.
The quality. Nothing was disliked.
The location was beautiful. The Terrace was lovely. The room had an LCD tv. After a room change, we had a lovely view to the rear of the Parador over the countryside behind. Huge bathroom. Our first room we were given had a view onto a wall (302) but we got a change. Noise travels in the rooms. The people above us made so much noise that we thought the games room was above us but it wasn't. Noise continued until 12.30am every night. The restaurant is very pricey for what you get and the service would have been better if it came with a smile. After staying at Parador in Cardona, this was a bit of a let down.
Excellent hotel in the town centre, ample parking. Breakfast is fairly expensive, and there are not too many alternatives nearby.
The staff were very helpful. The location couldn't be better and the facilities were very comfortable. They gave me a lead to connect to their system when the wifi didn't work and there was also a guests' computer in the lobby. We had breakfast at a nearby cafe on the first day and in the hotel on the second. Cafe was far better value and choice.
Amazing location at the edge of a castle type town. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean. A renovated old house built into the rock. Facilities quite basic in the bedroom but a huge bathroom and spa shower. You walk out into the old castle area with superb views. Lots of walking on cobbles. We took at least 50 photos!! Lovely toiletries! Plenty to eat for breakfast but no eggs.
Lovely setting, wonderful breakfasts, friendly staff, excellent location. no
Sos Del Rey is an amazing little town and our 2-night stay at El Peiron was perfect. The staff were all lovely and our room beautifully appointed.
Hotel was built recently - perfect combination of new facilites in a beautifully restored old building in a quiet pedestrian street in the old town
Mostly sightseeing and walking When we checked out the proprietor asked why there were only 3 towels in our bathroom -there were only 3 when we arrived
Wonderful hotel fantastic service amazing breakfasts, fascinating walking around the village It was like a dream come true and all 7 of us would have stayed longer if we could have. Would rave about the hotel and place to everyone we know.
A Great place to relax for a few days well worth a look
The hotel itself was beautiful as was this village. nothing..everything was perfect
A gem of a hotel in the historic part of a traditional Spanish village, beautifully renovated and furnished to a very high standard. The staff were very welcoming and informative. The best hotel of our holiday!
Beautiful room, perfect setting. No computer for guests
Excellent modernised hotel in a beautiful old town. The hotel was so good that we extended our stay for two more days.
A very warm welcome by the reception staff who were friendly and helpful. The room (303) was comfortable. Breakfast good. I appreciate having a garage for the car. Wardrobe hangers not very good. One needs rails as a well to hang one's own hangers on.
Beautiful room with an amazing view. The restaurant was phenomenol with personalized service. The courtyard with the fountain was very romantic. The staff were extremely helpful, helped us park our car. This hotel was definitely the gem of our trip - by far my wife's favorite place that we stayed
Waiting time at breakfast : minutes to make a coffee
This is a village house The external temperature was 30 degrees and the hotel had not put on the air conditioning. The temperature in the room was extremely warm. . The air conditioning would be put on "Manana" was the comment from the hotel. Eventually they moved us to another room with external windows in the bedroom and bathroom creating a through draft.
Personal service. I was made to feel like a guest and a friend. The old fashioned, warm decor, etc was in keeping with the lovely town. I had been staying ina lot of impersonal 'cahin' hotels, and this one was like abreath of fresh air.
Parking is difficult due to cramped space and akward angles
I liked the central location, just perfect to explore the city centre within a minute. The personel didn't speak English at all.
very good value for the money but I suspect we had the best room in the hotel as it had a beautifull stained glass window looking over the square
The Hotel staff were friendly, even though there was a language barrier The bath/shower facility needed modernising and the garage parking was a long way from the hotel.
You must try the resturant in the hotel is was great.
Style of the rooms were nice. Staff was very pleasant. Difficulty climbing stairs with luggage. Elevator access would have been better.
Normal, conventional hotel in a perfect place for those who go to Madrid for shopping
beautiful medieval village fantastic atmosphere friendly residents and able to walk around easily
Very clean. Very noisy.
Fairly close to the Old Town One girl on reception when we arrived on Saturday afternoon who did not speak English, neither did she understand our Spanish,-I think they have a different dialect up there. We could not get a drink of anything at all,- water, tea coffee or wine. As we had just had a 6 hour drive we needed some refreshment. As we were leaving in the morning we noticed a mini bar tucked away in a corner of the upstairs corrador but sadly this was not pointed out to us.As it was 32 degrees at the time & we had wine in the car we asked if we could park in the underground garage for a couple of hours until it cooled down, & what would be the cost. Yes certainly & the cost would be 18 Euros _ You must be joking
It was a good overnight en route from southern Spain to northern France, close to a great bodega to pick up a supply for Christmas, and only five mins from theotorway and fivemins walk into a nice town. I like hotels that have a facility for brewing tea/coffee in the room. This didnt
Lovely modern hotel set in fantastic contryside on the edge of a facinating old hill village. Any one of these is a reason for visiting. The manager and his wife were very friendly and helpful.
The view was amazing, and the hotel was very close to town, which is quaint. The food at the restaurant could have been better. It wasnt awful, but they have gone to a lot of effort with the table settings, views etc, so the food was a bit of a let down.
The views from the rooms are amazing - ask for one on the 3rd floor. Basic, very few extras - no iron, minibar, etc. but expected for the price.
perfect location, very clean spacious rooms, good parking, easy to find staff seemed surprised by our arrival and were unable to translate the booking.com confirmation that we presented, hotel appeared short staffed and there was no food available
Very clean and modern hotel. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Totally "new Spanish" in comparison to the tired pensions of the past.
Pleasant, relaxed, family owned and run, modern yet within a traditional spanish town setting
Everything looks, and probably is, brand new. The decoration is modern and stylish with a personal touch. Olite is a very picturesque village and the hostel is situated just a few meters from the fully restored castle.
Very funky little hotel. Possibly the friendliest hotel staff in Spain, willing to put up with our very limited Spanish with good humour and valiant attempts at English. Good, light breakfast, modern conveniences, clean and great location. Others have mentioned being fearful that parking is not within sight of hotel. Don't be worried! This is a town of 3,000 people, not an urban jungle. As anywhere else, don't leave valuables in plain sight in the car and you've nothing to worry about, other than toting your luggage up a cobblestone street. Was a trifle difficult to find, as it is buried in the heart of the old town. Best bet is to drive through the archway next to castle, park car and then walk. Some noise from hallways, but no worse than other Spanish hotels (Spain is just a loud country!)
perfect location within the village. Great view on the castle. Clean, good value for money. Might be difficult to find without the help of locals.
Great location beautifully converted old house None
nicely decorated and comfortable room, including wifi, window shutters and airco. Staff even returned some forgotten luggage at no charge. Some light from the hall in the room at night, non English speaking staff (but they manage and are very helpful and friendly).
Nestled in beautiful spot, the owners are extremely kind and helpful.
Great location in old town near castle. Very stylish and comfortable. Family run. Welcoming and helpful.
Modern, clean, comfortable; a few blocks from the old town. Nice views of the surrounding hills (but not of town, alas). Very friendly and helpful young woman at the desk (who was only there periodically, since she had duties at the hotel's bar/restaurant 2 blocks away). Free en suite Wi-Fi didn't work (but it 'sort of' worked in the lobby); couldn't figure out how to work the AC for the life of me.
Location was excellent, just a few hundred yards from Sos's centre. Lovely view from the bedroom. We stayed out of season (just!) and there appeared to be no breakfast facilities at the hotel, indeed there didn't appear to be a restaurant. When we asked staff they beckoned down the road so may be there's a shared facility?
Friendly staff and convenient location. Comfortable. We were disappointed that the restaurant was permanently closed, except for breakfast.
Great location in a beautiful town, recommended, owner has garage (for hire)
Nice small simple clean hotel with very nice staff. Very small rooms.
the oldness of the place, The hotel fitted in very nicely with Olite'S buildings No Tea or Coffee making machines in the rooms
Very friendly and helpful staff. The roon was very clean and a good size. Excellent location. Street noise in the mornings.
Stairs might be a problem for disabled visitors.
Very good value for money. The service varied from very friendly and helpful to a bit restrained, depending on the person behind the counter (as did their English skills). When we needed help in planning our trip to Pamplona, we got excellent help and very useful tips about buses, parking etc., all in English. Rooms were clean and location was excellent. The room had an air con but it was quite underpowered for the July heat (the bathroom got ridiculously hot during the afteroon).
Situation. Food. Need to change the beds. Bit noisy. Air conditioner didn´t work and made too much noise.
Good choice at breakfast; one waiter was very friendly and helpful. The location was good for visiting other towns. They offered us twin beds when we had booked a double bed. They then gave us a double with no view looking over an alley with construction going on. The room was hot but they would not turn off the heat or put on the ac. Their parking was a public lot some distance away and one night it was full. They charge too much for a hotel which hasn't been refurbished or updated.
It is a beatiful setting with Parador hotel being part fo an old castle. Just to be informed before hand as where to park the car would have been useful but we were informed by the staff on arrival . Parking was outside the castle wall area which was few minutes walk.
Beautiful hotel, and in a quaint medieval town 30 minutes from Pamplona. Stayed here during the Pamplona Festival with the bulls as an alternative to the higher hotel prices in Pamplona during that time. I was so surprised at this jewel! I had no idea that Olite had more to offer than this beautiful hotel, too-how quaint! Taxi ride to Pamplona was 50 euros, and the train does stop in Olite, but jump off fast!
Breakfast great, location amazing nowhere to sit outside with a drink and book
The village and the monuments Tha breakfast was very poor for the hotel in question
Fantastic building in a traditional Spanish town. Well worth a visit. In the heart of wine region. Fantastic breakfast. Room in a newer annex and slightly on the small side
fairytale setting, quiet. Great breakfast
The setting of the hotel was fantastic. We were there with individuals who stayed in 3 other rooms. All 4 rooms were excellent. We enjoyed the town and the nearby wineries.
