Historic building and friendly staff
The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
A great hotel in the middle of Carmarthen a bustling town I grew up in great pace to stay when I go back nothing not good
the room was very well presented and clean. nice size bathroom. it was slightly noisy during the night and early morning
central location to Carmarthen we booked the master bedroom for 2 nights - everything was fine until the Saturday night. Room was immediately above the main bar - no chance of an early night with live music blasting away until 11.30pm - noise was horrendous !! Fried breakfast on the Saturday morning was cold
Excellent location for city centre. Breakfast in Humble Pies across the street. Convenient for train station and bus station. Good clean room and a big bath. Being a city centre hotel, it inevitably suffers from noise on Friday and Saturday especially. We were up quite late anyway and when we went to sleep we were tired so slept through it, but I know others were disturbed so perhaps not good for light sleepers. The master bedroom is especially bad because it is situated over the driveway that goes to the car park at the rear. You can therefore get very loud engine noises from cars, bikes or delivery vans early in the morning so not especially good for lie-ins.
not a lot loud music was played until approx 02:00am and we had to phone reception to ask them to turn it off. My 14 year old daughter wanted to go home, there was foul language outside the hotel until early hours. It should not have been advertised as a family friendly hotel it was more like a pub with rooms over the top. Would not stay there again
Gwesty cartefol a cymrieg. Bwyd Da a pris resymol iawn. Good value with some steep stairs Dim byd. Nothing major just the steep stairs
Excellent location and has parking in the back which is limited but good to be safe and out of the way Right on main road and could hear everything that drove past. We stayed during the recent snow storm so 5am gritting was happening and woke us up.
Staff did try to be helpful and were very pleasant. The breakfasts were very good indeed. Beds were comfy and very clean. Tv - useless and no-one could deal with that. Bedside lamp was broken and was quickly replaced willingly. The noise from a 2 hour band practice right below our room was unimaginarily loud and no conversation was possible for the whole time !!! Our 2 fellow folk went down and sat in the room with the music but we are too old for that !!!Our 2 companions were in room 24 or 25 and it had a dreadful smell - probably old cigarette smoke but it was dreadful !?
The staff were nice but we only saw them when we arrived! Didnt see them again before we left!! Breakfast was nice. Staff never there. No one there for us to check out.Showers were no good.
A good welcome. Warm hotel. Really good breakfast, plenty for even biggest appetite. The hotel is central in town and has small parking area. Only fault was a noisy room due to perhaps central heating that sounded like a droning plane every 3 mins. Our previous stay was in a much quiter room. I would use the hotel again, but ask for a different room.
cheap it was noisy , no food , very busy , no telephone to take messages staff very busy runniing around the bar to be able to listen to clients in their rooms
Friendly & welcoming old fashioned inn.Excellant breakfast.Own small car park to rear of Hotel. None
excellent beds poor bathroom
The room was basic but clean, The staff were very friendly & were always willing to help with a problem & good with information on things to see in the area, Breakfast was really nice & the cook was always asking if we wanted more, Would not have a problem staying here again as i really enjoyed it, No dart board...But Paul said he would get one in...
Friendly staff. Restaurant/bar En suite needed showers.
The bedroom was clean. The hotel was very shabby and in much poorer condition than the photos suggested.
the rooms were clean, unfortunatly that is the only nice thing i can say about this hotel unfortunatly we were very unset leaving this hotel as the manager paul was very rude and disrespectful towards us. Irish people were not welcome at this hotel and this was made very clear to us by paul.
