Duct tape at the entry door to roomand bathroom, chipping paint in bathroom, horrible breakfast, noisy ice maker outside one window and alley outside main window. had to leave our blinds closed since the alley way butted up to balconies therefor no privacy. would not stay there again
This hotel had the lowest rates for it's good location. The low rate was for a horrible small room in the back, with bed pushed against the wall and a view that looked directly into someones apartment. So, guess what, they can see you too! So drapes must be closed at all times giving the room that extra claustrophobic feeling. Not a perfect room for a honeymoon!
The rooms have 'your grandmother's parlor' decor. This is if you grandmother had really good taste and could afford to decorate with real antiques. It's comfortable and clean and the free breakfast is adequate. The family that owns the property is very motivated to make you feel comfortable and our every request was granted. I would stay there again.
The location of this hotel made it ideal for a overnight trip too Carmel. It allows you to walk through town, to restaurants and to the beach without worrying about finding parking. The hotel was comfortable but the furnishings were dated. The bathroom was clean and contained all of the basic necessities. The continental breakfast in the morning was available but very limited and placed on an awkward corner area. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and local information.
This was our first stay at the Carmel Inn Suites, and we will definitely stay there again next time we travel to Carmel. Any questions we had regarding ,directions, places to eat nearby, best route to take out of town etc. were answered politely and graciously. Always followed by 'anything else we can help you with', we have recommended this Inn to our friends.
It was a nice hotel with all of the amenities and complimentary breakfast, but our specific room was half the size of any normal room. It so reminded us of a mobil-home room...long and very narrow. With the side of a queen sized bed pushed against the wall, we barely had a two foot path in the room. When reserving, be sure to ask the size of your room, as we saw other rooms at the facility being of normal size.
Very convenient to downtown Carmel. Gracious and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Reasonable rates and we will definitely stay at this Inn for our next trip to Carmel.
I got the last room in the place late one afternoon, right on the street, small--and surprisingly nice. I even had wif-fi. Loved the location too--right on Ocean Ave. I walked to dinner! So great not to use my car the whole time--even walked to the ocean. The breakfast was more ambitious than most and provided an array of basic breakfast fare. I was up early though and walked to a coffee roaster down the street!
Carmel Inns and Suites was a great place to stay. Front desk was friendly, helpful, efficient. Room was very comfortable--roomy, great bed. My husband thought there were too many ''flowers'' (drapes, chairs, bedspread), but I thought it all quite pretty. We were handy to everything in Carmel, and yet the room was quiet, peaceful. A bonus was the little breakfast offered, which I hadn't expected. It was simply toast, pastry, cereal, coffee and juice, but nicely presented. Altogether a great place.
