A comfortable, modern hotel in an excellent, central location. The free wifi is very slow: to get anything like normal speed, it is necessary to pay for an upgraded connection. Entrance to the car park is not for the feint-hearted - it's very narrow. The public car park beneath the Plaza Mayor, less than 100 metres away, is much easier and only slightly more expensive, though the entrance is poorly signposted and difficult to find.
Comfortable, pleasant room; ability to park car in garage underneath. Well managed. Difficult to locate, as situated on a pedestrianised street - even so, we were allowed to drive along it - slowly!. No catering available at 8pm on Sunday night - whole town seemed closed down due to religious festival.
The frienliness of the staff Would have liked to have been able to make a cup of tea in our room although the minibar was well stocked-a cuppa would have been nice!!!
Friendly staff and neat rooms. Location was excellent too. Right in the middle of the city and town squares. Just that the beds were only twins instead of queen or double. However, I think that is a European thing so that's life.
Excellent and helpful staff None
The location of the hotel It was very bad that almost the entire hotel smells really bad because of the cigarret!
Liked the design of the soap/shampoo box. Liked the decoration. No more parking space
fantastic location beside the main square room was very warm and the airconditioning was not cool so had to leave windows open through night
the lift to the car park was interesting several things
The room, evening meal and breakfast. It would be a good idea to give guests a small brochure of the hotel as I did not know the hotel had a pool. My husband and I would have used this facility as we arrived early at the hotel and needed to relax after driving.
Very conveniently located for our purposes for a stop-off point. Very grand hotel at a great price. Nice cafeteria for sandwishes, drink and breakfast at a good prices. Not a lot to see culturally although we weren't staying for that reason. No where convenient to eat close to the hotel.
Pool area, room location, no outlook only four walls, no lounge area or saloon bar, no brochure in the room regarding how to find hotel facilities.
very comfortable room - cafeteria tapas excellent room at front of hotel made opening window very noisy cos air con not working properly!!!
Excellent value for money. Excellent tapas in the cafeteria. orange juice for breakfast was a bit off.
Very central for shopping Once again difficult to find if you are coming from west (Cuidad Real) all the hotel signs where on other side of road and we only saw the backs of them so had to keeep driving back on ourselves to ensure we hadnt missed the turn.
Friendly reception staff, nice room, good pool with fun water spouts and good choice for breakfast. Definitely recommend.
Very relaxed and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful
It is an excellent hotel, truly a **** that charges a price of a motel in the us Nothing
Great location. Room comfortable and lovely bedlinen. Very noisy from constant traffic next to very busy main road, even with balcony doors closed which was most of the time. Cramped reception/lobby area. Breakfast was appalling for a four* hotel, hardly worth bothering with. Reminded me of cheap Motel fare -grab it and growl.
Nothing! I was very disappointed. I booked this hotel because it had a pool, there was nothing to advise me that it wasn't open until mid june!!! Also breakfast was awful! 4 star hotel with stale bread! Limited choice and absolutely not value for money, would not stay at this hotel again!
Mini bar in the room that was actually stocked for a change, and the prices of the mini bar items were really good value not a complete rip off like some hotels. Easy to use safe in room that you didn't have to go running to reception for the key to use was another bonus. Good restaurant was another plus point, we arrived late and tired to hotel so it was great to be able to eat dinner there instead of having to go out and find somewhere on the first night. Also the breakfast that was included in the price was really good and the hours for it were really good, not just between 9am and 10am like some other hotels.
Very comfortable hotel and excellent value for money, clean, can't really find anything negative to say. Didn't try the food at the hotel but the beer was fine! Would recommend it....
Hotel staff, clean, free internet, buffet breakfast, free parking in the front of the hotel. Cold coffee at the buffet breakfast.
Very efficient check in The smoking in the cafeteria
The friendly staff, the standard of the room, the wide choice of food for breakfast, the welcome plate of fruit, the location, the swimming pool, all in all this hotel was very good value for the money and one which I would not hesitate to use again.
excellent room, staff very helpful. Pool area closed though which was disappointing with temperatures at 30 degrees. this hotel was chosen as it is the only one in the area with a pool :( as above - pool area closed
Room was excellent - staff struggled with English but we were in real Spain.
The hotel in general is offering a poor service and is very old and the meal is very average.
Wonderful buildings The breakfast which was included was spectacularly good Not terribly impressed with staff compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our 2 week journey through Spain
The setting was pretty, especially outside. Close to the town. -
very beatiful restored old convent in the center of the nice little town of Almagro. staff were very friendly and helpful, dinner was great and the swimmingpool most enjoyable. we liked our stay very much!
Location (center of town), enough parking places, wireless is free, swimming pool with free towel wireless is not available in rooms.
Beautifull parador, but unfortunately a little modern rooms. Center of town (plaza Mayor) is great and has a lot of atmosphere. We were lucky to have stayed in this parador during a festival, so we enjoyed a live performance in open air As mentioned, the rooms did not compare to the grandeur of the parador itself
We loved everything, the food was delicious and beautifully presented, the restaurant staff were professional but not stiff or unfriendly.A fabulous hotel in a wonderful region of Spain where we heard no English spoken, wonderful for those of us who prefer the real Spain. First stay at a Parador but not the last. We could not find fault, only regret was not booking extra days.
Lovely old building, with great bedrooms, well positioned in the old town. A good bar. Reception staff were a little off-hand (and not very polite), our bags were marched off to our room with not a word said and almost knocking over my wife in the process.
This was one of the best Paradors we have seen, a beautiful and very comfortable high end stay. Location was great for visiting this must see town. The hotel is just our style of comfort based on purely local design and simple beauty.
Everything. From the moment we drove into the courtyard. Everything was perfect. The food excellent. The room tranquil and comfortable. The whole stay was just so relaxing. We will visit again.
The staff at the hotel was very helpful in spite of our lack of Spanish. It was 1 block from the Plaza Major with many outside tapas cafeterias. Very comfortable beds! Parking was listed as unavailable but there was plenty of free street parking. We traveled in May. Our needs were accommodated nicely when the staff determined that our room was on the second floor and my 87 y.o. mother would be more comfortable on the ground floor. Hotel full of wonderful surprises and courtyards!
What a wonderful experience at Casa Rural in lovely Almagro. Delightful owner and such a charming, interesting residence filled with Spanish character and interesting artifacts. The breakfast was amazing and extremely generous - we didn't need lunch! We loved everything about Tia Pilar and dined at the Parador nearby which was our most memorable meal during our short spanish trip.
We were looking for a town and hotel to stay in on our way from Madrid to Tarifa Spain. This was the perfect spot. The hotel was amazing. I think I took more pictures of the hotel than anything else! The courtyards, pool, deck, sitting areas, and rooms are all amazing. The building is the perfect blend of old Spain with modern conveniences. The hostess is so kind and helpful. We walked to the plaza in the evening for dinner and we felt like we were truly experiencing a spanish way of life - not just a tourist stop over.
Casa Rural Tia Pilar has an excellent location to attend the Festival de Teatro Clasico de Almagro. The decoration of the house is lovely and the rooms are a dream. The bed is comfortable; the linens are very agreeable; the bathroom has a wonderful hydromassage shower. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious. You can enjoy the comfort of a modern hotel and also walk around the house to see the antiques as if you were at a museum. Undoubtedly, the best hotel I have stayed at.
Very rural and no English at all! Excellent breakfast.
Lovely quaint hotel with old knick-knacks on display throughout (more like a family home than a hotel). Room was comfortable and spacious, air-con was very efficient. Breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. Couldnt find the pool until we were about to leave and still not sure if it was for residents use as it seemed to be surrounded by washing.
It was old fashioned, but magnificently appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. We wished we had planned to stay another day.
Its beauty and charm, antiques, patios, and hospitality of the owners. Quiet, comfortable, and an excellent breakfast too. One of the best places I've ever stayed. Your description is accurate. Guest reviews not shown.
the ambience is very nice even though the mixture of very old and very modern is a bit questionable use of spa facilities for an extra 30€ per person
Very friendly staff to welcome guests. Interesting tour of the hotel and its interesting interior and facilities The ultra modern bedroom with its light sensitive windows and high tech gadgets did not offer a relaxing feel. similarly the breakfast room was stark and uninviting. Ther hotel lacks soul.
Excellent hotel, choice of old or modern rooms, good location for town and exploring La Mancha.
Staff very nice and polite. Much appreachiated that dogs are allowed in the room. We was very dissapointed that the restaurant was closed both saturday and sunday.
Good soft mattress !
Secure car parking. Sky News. Separate WC in bathroom. Quiet. Dog friendly
Good city hotel. You can have a good rest. (except for the jokes that the guys from the bachelor party made to the groom in the morning that awake all fllor)
Absolutely excellent value. The best quality that you culd expect for the money
Clean, stylish, pleasant staff It was not clear that the restaurant did not open in the evening.
The art and the relaxation fell to the hotel and the ambiance Lack of English speaking or my lack of Spanish ?
nice concept of combining art and hotel even comfort rooms were quite small; problems with hot water supply; homepage indicates SPA area but this is still under construction
Extremely difficult to get to without use of very expensive taxis or by hiring very expensive car. No public transport.
The setting was great. The artwork in the grounds was very interesting. The restaurant was great. All in all an excellent experience.
central and modern location, good choice at breakfast with very friendly and caring service, good choice, eggs included
The hotel is close by the plaza mayor and the historical centre of Almagro. A free parking place.
nice room ... great breakfast ... good location ... free parking
Very welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. Underground secure parking included. Hotel very comfortable and really close to the town - easy walking distance. Perhaps I did not read the facilities properly before booking - but we could not eat at the hotel (which was not really a problem) but it would be nice to be able to get coffee or tea.
We had the superior double which was Parador standard. Great staff, good parking, superb location, just mins from the Plaza Mayor.
The good private parking space(in B1) in a small town Hotel. The room was very clean.
Excellent hotel. We have been away 3 weeks staying in 8 hotels (all booked with you) All were good and this one was the last and it made a wonderful ending to our holidays. It was luxury without the hustle of a busy hotel.
easy to find and park, superb location, helpful staff, a good family-run hotel
The hotel was easy to find and the staff warm and welcoming. The rooms are large, well decorated and very clean. The shutters on the windows which we couldn't open meant that it was a little on the dull side but that is just being picky. The location to the local town was perfect, about a 10 minute walk to a host of shops, bars and restaurants. The breakfast was an excellent choice of cold dishes. We loved it and would certainly stay again. We were disappoint after reading other reviews that the restaurant and bar weren't open on Sundays.
The hotel is great value for money but the location is not fantastic
The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We stayd here on our way back to the airport to Madrid It is very unpleasant the way you have the parking-front desk manner: you have to go from the parking place (one floor down) to the first floor get out of the elevator and go downstairs on foot to the front desk. It works the other way too!
Very Convinient installations. Nice and Friendly Staff. A Superbe Design. Perfect hotel 4 one or two nights. Like 2 recomand a very good restaurant, in an old "Bodega" (Winery), ask in reception, it is one of the best. The Village itself doesn't offer much, good 4 short stay, not more.
The hotel was beautifully decorated, comfortable and at a really good price. We ate in the restaurant and it was really good and not expensive. They kept my passport overnight and forgot to return it to me when I checked out! We had to make a retun visit on the way back from Madrid.
Staff were very friendly with good English skills Ok for an overnight stay and for birdwatchers but Daimiel is not a draw for most folk. Not much to see in the town.
much better than three strars. beautiful hotel. cood breakfast that included in the price
The hotel was as described and really comfortable. we emjoyed our stay . another guest review suggested the Bodegar down the road for a meal it was excellant highly recommend it but it is expensive nothing
We only stayed for one night, but wish it had have been more, really lovely smart hotel, good english speaking staff, resturant verygood and value for money. nothing to dislike
On first place the hotel is decorated with a really nice taste (typical Spanish decoration from La Mancha). And the staff is extremely nice, always willing to help or give tips on where to go and what to do. It was a great experience and we will come back.
Surroundings and decor were lovely All rooms had showers but no baths.
Lovely, and very typical Spanish Hotel. The staff were exrtremely friendly although the langauge barrier is a constraint at times. (We thought we knew enough spanish words to get by but found it very difficult to be understood at times). Manuela, who is one of the staff, was particularly helpful and knew a little English which helped. (She speaks fluent German). Lovely little pool area and given the whoel idea was to relax and do nothing - its a great place to do just that! Well done & Best Wishes to Pablo and the staff
Beautiful hotel, very clean, staff were lovely. Outside area with pool and sun chairs was lush.
Friendly staff, aircon works, very good value
The receptionist was helpful and friendly and the internet connection was good. The neighborhood was quiet and the hotel was about a 10 minute walk to the center of the city.
Very helpful staff,I could leave my luggage at the hotel for many hours after checking out.The room was quiet, the bathroom big with a good shower.Whatever information I asked about buses etc was answered. The restaurant is not fully functional on weekends, but there is a good restaurant close by.The location is somewhat distant from the centre of town and the shops. Also the train station is far away and at night would require a taxi, during the day there is an excellent bus service.
Staff were very friendly. room was clean and comfortable, just off the town centre. easy access to and from bus station.
Staff very polite, friendly and helpful. Only one English speaking Manager, not always on duty. The kitchen is not open on Saturday or Sunday so no evening meals or cooked breakfasts.
Hotel staff very friendly, helpful and polite. We used this hotel twice as an overnight stay before/after our main holiday. The kitchen does not open at weekends, no dinner or cooked breakfast available.
Decor Their system would not accept either of our credit cards so we had to pay by cash which we had not budgeted for.
Very convenient. Walking distance from downtown Almagro, and well located within the region to visit other arweas of interest. The price is fair for the summer.
Good stopping place between Madrid and Andalusia region, otherwise not much to recommend it.
Own parking area, huge rooms with high ceiling Two of two offered rooms were smoked
The buffet breakfast was very adequate - the bacon and eggs were very good. Freshly squeezed orange juice would have been welcome.
everthing pretty acceptable. Shower not great
Dinner/ day menu- very good and not expensive Small rooms
We thought it compared with the Almagro Parador very favourably (we stayed there 2 years ago) and was much better value, especially the restaurant where the menu del dia was excellent. No. The reception area and staircase were very impressive. Nearer the centre would have been better but 500 metres isn't too far.
Great value for money, about 10 minutes walk into town. Good to have a swimming pool albeit small to cool off in.
Good, easy and free parking; nice staff. None.
