9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay. The house is very nicely set out and decorated in an interesting and thoughtful way. Each room is decorated by theme and ours was the Arabe room. There is a great garden, library, terrace and seating area and Rosa and Fernando are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with home made cake and jam using fruit from the garden. Perfect
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wow! Rosa and Fernando are incredible hosts at this unique property! After walking all day on the Camino, Fernando picked us up in his van and drove us to the property. We were too tired to go into town for dinner, so Rosa whipped up an incredible dish with fresh vegetables from her garden. In the morning, breakfast was lovely with homemade breads and jams. Fernando drove us back to the Camino route after breakfast. Our room was cozy and tidy. The rooms are each uniquely decorated. There is an artsy feel to the place. It was a memorable experience, but mostly because of the hospitality of the wonderful hosts.
Cons: The only issue for us was no door on the bathroom. Slightly awkward when sharing a room with a friend. We managed though!
10.0 Excellent

Pros: This was one of our favorite accommodations of our month long trip. The owner/operators went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Each room is unique and fun. We had a great view over a stream to farm fields beyond. Great service, fun and comfortable rooms, good food. The location is a few km from Astorga, but that wasn't an issue at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fernando and Rosa are excellent hosts. Though a bit out of the way if you are walking Camino it is worth it. They want to make your stay enjoyable and it was. MUCHOS GRACIAS

Pros: Cute apartment. Well thought out decor. House was renovated and nicely decorated. Prepared hot breakfast. Allowed us to have bikes delivered and stored at property.
Cons: We were put in the attic and caused us to have to climb three flights of stairs with luggage and every time we went out. Also, communicating was very difficult because manager did not speak any English. She attempted with phone translator but when we had problems or questions it was nearly impossible and frustrating. Us not able to speak Spanish of course did not help.

Pros: Absolutely perfect in every way! Glamorous, well-appointed room, with a lovely breakfast in the fridge and in the bread basket. Even the dishes were pretty! We had excellent directions by text in English from our host. And the location in León could not be better. Purple Dog us on a lively, main pedestrian street just 1-1/2 blocks from the cathedral, which amazed me. The windows are gobsmacking, and the audio tour very informative.
Cons: Only one little thing could be improved: directions to the parking lot. It is just outside the entrance to the pedestrian-only old town, indicated by a big blue “P” sign.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved all the extras. Someone has created this amazing space with so much detail and love. We had two nights here and it was like paradise. Pros: It was a great pleasure to stay in such a beautiful and peaceful place, with its lovely garden. Our room was spacious, with a private outside space that we really appreciated. We slept really well here. We had private secure parking. The property is very conveniently located in the centre of the old town, close to the cathedral and Gaudi's Episcopal palace. The owner was utterly charming and greeted us as if we were old friends. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
Cons: The only thing I could possibly criticise is the limited wardrobe space in our room... a beautiful antique piece that was a triumph of looks over practicality!

We will be back to stay longer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This 12th century monastery hotel is SUPERB in every way!! Starting with the staff, the beautiful room, the courtyard views from my room, the breakfast spread, and the extremely helpful staff who immediately sought to find information or possible solutions to my many questions and concerns!! I felt like royalty in this place
Cons: Honestly, there is nothing that I did not like. The location was perfect, in the center of everything and very close to many restaurants and main historical sites to visit.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Also had very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! We had an accident and they helped us in every way to minimise the consequences-they even offered to change our room which we gladly accepted. They gave us every possible sort of information! The breakfast was great and ample, the fresh fruit varied and delicious! We made use of the free parking facilities on the property-fantastic! In other locations we had to pay 20 or more euros per night. And all this within the compound of the incredibly beautiful San Isidoro Basilica, with no cars allowed, and dozens of cafés within walking distance where we sat outside until after midnight.Would go there again any time. A great place to stay even up to a week. Thanks everyone!
Cons: Our room was a bit small, but that’s easily explained : all the rooms were previously monks’ cells. Nothing else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The outside of the hotel is like a Parador as are the public spaces filled with antique furniture etc but the rooms are very light modern and spacious, we loved this combination. Large bedroom, very comfortable bed and quite aircon, nice bathroom all v clean. Incredible value for money when compared with the Paradors. Very quite location. Location is great for city centre but right next door to the San Isidore Church and museum, the hotel arranged a tour in English for only E6. The royal chapel with frescos is amazing and we were able to see a cup which may be the Holy Grail, sadly much of the museum is closed for about 18 months for renovations. Loved the city, really pleasant atmosphere and so much to see, will definitely go back when the museum full reopens and will stay at this hotel.
Cons: Nothing -loved the hotel and Leon, may even go back before the museum reopens, then when it does!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel, full of history with lots of character. Very tastefully converted to a beautiful hotel

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't believe that such a superb place in a perfect location was such a good price. The manager, Encina, was friendly and efficient and kept the place spotless
Cons: I appreciate the limitations of the building but the lift was very small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best hostel ever. Friendly staff, clean bedroom and shower room. Kitchen has everything I need.
Cons: Wifi connection could be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were gracious and helpful. The place is clean. The Cathedral of Leon is around the corner. It was everything I needed.
Cons: Everything was great. There were no negatives except for one of the other guests who was a little grumpy.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fully equipped kitchen. Central Location. Common room had a nice sitting area and small balcony to look down onto the main street.
Cons: Bed bugs. Room 2. Unfortunately dealing with about 50 bites at the moment. I did kill one at 2am inside my partners pillow, but alas, I was dinner that night to others unseen. To compound matters, there is no air con, so it's hot in the room with the window closed. And you need to keep the window closed for a little bit of noise relief. The price you pay for a good central location is restaurants dragging tables and chairs at ungodly hours, rubbish collection at about 2am, and early set up of the businesses next door for the following day. Glad I was there only 1 night. Furthermore, the walls are paper thin, so you hear everything from neighbouring rooms.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super organized staff, they send you email in advance with instructions for your arrival, Anna the host was lovely, everything was very clean and new. They have a beatiful small terraza, great of an afternoon beer.
Cons: The room has a lot of noise from the street because was Saturday, and they are super well located at the middle of the main important bars of Leon. Bring a good earplug ;-)

Cons: It was a bit difficult to find the first time, but once we found it all was well!
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly and easy accessed
Cons: Maybe more comfort in the lounge area

6.8 Good
Pros: The buffet breakfast was very good and great value at €5. The lady who looks after the kitchen was lovely. The car parking was very easy, only 3 minutes walk away and free at the weekend! The hotel is in a very good location and was perfectly adequate for 2 nights.
Cons: The bed was small and the room was quite hot at night. Our room was on the top floor so only had a velux window which let in too much light if opened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in the room was great, we liked the balcony so much. The hotel was really close to the cathedral, so you can also walk at night to see the different view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing hotel with lovely room! Really close to the centre too which was brilliant .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Next to the cathedral. In the old quarter. Can walk everywhere easily. Simple but good place. No thrills. But clean and comfy.
Cons: Bed is a bit hard.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Helpful staff. Loved the chocolates and sweets. Comfortable and clean. Good value breakfast
Cons: We had a dripping shower and a very squeaky bed but otherwise great place and quiet yet close to the action
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Parking arrangements. Access is tricky.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: canniot think of anything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel!! It was exactly what I needed as a tired pilgrim taking a rest day. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful, the room was clean and quiet, the breakfast was great, and the location was perfect right next to the cathedral but on a quiet street. They even had laundry service, 7 Euros for an entire load (wash and dry), which was a huge bonus because not many hotels have affordable laundry service, if any at all.
Cons: Linens could have been a little cleaner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A spacious, clean room. The hostal is incredibly well situated - a minute from the cathedral but down a quiet road.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect for a short visit as all the main attractions are in short walking distance. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was better than I expected for this price. An access to a commune kitchen and a sitting area was also good.
Cons: As a comment - I was travelling with a car and I should have checked the best way to access the hotel and the nearby parking before arriving into the town. The hotel is located on pedestrian street but there is a very good parking area nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal — staff were very professional and warm. I would definitely book with Alda again.
Cons: I loved it all.

Pros: The location in Leon was perfect! It was within walking distance of everything I needed. The facilities were very clean and the atmosphere of the place was great.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hostel is so close to the Cathedral!! It is also really close to restaurants and shops, with most things within 100m. The beds in this hostel are comfortable, and have privacy curtains with personal chargers and a little nook for anything you want with you while you sleep. Big locker space too. The setout of the common area is nice too, with a relaxed vibe.
Cons: The washing and drying service was 9€ and didn't fully wash our clothes and wasn't delivered back to us. For 9€ a little more was expected but overall the hostel is great.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Love the bunk beds with the curtains!!
Cons: There was no staff in the hostel, if you needed sth you have to go to the hostel across the street- also no breakfast unlike advertised
7.5 Good
Pros: Curtains in front of the beds, clean
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were nice, big social area. Kitchen well equipped, but small. Towell and bedshits were provided
Cons: There was no reception in the hostel, none there to answer questions or explain anything. This make it a bit cold, although the facilities were nice. It was hot in the room, even though there was AC, we couldn't change the temperature, and when everybody was on the room it gets hot. Bathroom was modern and spacious, but smelled bad, maybe there was not enough ventilation
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Bunk bed too high with no safety bar. Was too afraid I would fall out
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In terms of value for money/location/facilities this is by far the best hostel I have stayed during my camino. In the doorsteps of the cathedral and all of Leon's bars and restaurants, each bunk bed has got a curtain for privacy, light, shelf, locker, drawer, clean bed linen, towels plus spacious social area to hang out/eat/prepare food. Everything is modern and spotless. I'd definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love love love the pod design! The privacy curtains, cubbies, lights, and plugs at each bed are perfect, with two lockers per person!
7.5 Good
Pros: Location to all sites. Beds were comfortable. Commun areas were great.
Cons: The bathroom was mouldy and the aircon did not work in Room 5. Thus the room was a constant 24 degrees and extremely stuffy.

6.3 Good
Pros: Clean, good wifi
Cons: When you book online it isn’t written how many people in the dorm you took so you ended up with a dorm of 36 people, hard to sleep.. the checkout was at 10h and at 8h30 the owner was already cleaning the room and making a lot of noises... i’ve never seen that
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean new facilities Good ratio bathroom to beds Helpful staff Close to great supermarket
Cons: Still a good walk into central Leon

Cons: Location is good but little bit far from the bus station and the train station.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. As a pilgrim after a long day of walking, it was a pleasant and modern hostel with good laundry and bathroom facilities, and a small modern kitchen.
Cons: Right at the beginning of leon (if walking the camino) so not very close to the old town or cathedral.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very attentive. The facilities are clean and well cared for. Quiet. Large supermarkets and a few restaurants are nearby. Great for rest.
Cons: The location was on the edge of Leòn; a 20+ minute walk to the inner core
9.3 Excellent
Pros: There are plenty of bathrooms for the guests. I never once had to wait in line. Great washing facilities and boot room. I also enjoyed the comfy lounge and cooking area, big couches, plenty of power points - good spaces for chilling out or cooking. Everything is white and chrome - clean and fresh. Plenty of plates and glasses etc. I would have loved some tea bags though!
Cons: It was a bit of a walk to the central city, however there is a half hourly bus close by.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, well equipped and modern. Virtually all the small things that make a good albergue were incorporated.
Cons: A bit far (20 min walk) from the city centre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alfonso, the host, was very accommodating and helpful. It was clean, light, modern. The dorm bunk beds were extra long with plenty of head room. There was a great market about 500km away.

Pros: Clean and tidy near the city center
Cons: Very noisy
7.0 Good
Pros: Very central location and helpful staff.
Cons: We stayed on a Saturday night. Because it IS centrally located a lot of noise from outside filtered through and unfortunately we had a very noisy crowd above our room. We didn't sleep at all which did'nt suit because we were starting our Camino walk at 6.00am next morming.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was nice, location great. Good breakfast, and to-go bkfst if you left before 9AM Washer & dryer available
Cons: I was sure that I booked this as a double room, instead it was charged and sold as a quad. We paid $420 US for 3 nights and the room had 2 bunk beds and a small table between, nothing else.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had to make a last minute reservation and she gladly assisted. The room was comfortable and the heater perfect.
Cons: We found a bed bug in the morning. Although nothing to do with the accommodation, the other guests were very loud, the arrived late and then back at 05h00. Not ideal for tired pilgrims.

4.3 Okay
Cons: seeing the lady clean the rooms smoking on the job. no wifi and a stupid excuse was that we had iphones. no aircon and had to use a fan which was ineffective as it was inappropriate. the hostel is situated on a national road so trucks and cars could be heard all night. awful place- and we are not fussy people at all
8.8 Excellent
Cons: They need a kettle in the kitchen and to improve wifi
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, staff friendly and super helpful.
Cons: Far away from city center. No restaurant open nearby, however bar next door served tapas.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and well maintained. Helpful owner/manager gave us good information. Easy to find, free street parking and less than 10 minutes drive to the old town. Room was good size with comfortable beds and quiet.
Cons: Not much..had to wait until owner arrived to let us in but think we had been given wrong number.
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly owner. No problem parking outside. Shared kitchen and microwave. Owner left milk, cakes and instant coffee in kitchen for breakfast.
Cons: The room was far too hot. The radiators do not have thermostats and all were full on. As the hotel is on a busy main road you can't have the window open because of the noise. We didn't get much sleep. We would have rated this hotel much higher if had not been so hot. The location isn't great but at least you are out of the parking chaos of Leon.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the large rooms the fact you can make your own meals & they have a great breakfast. The staff are lovely
Cons: The fact that laundry pickup isn't until 9am. This means that laundry is not collected on the day of arrival. I was also told that it wasn't guaranteed to be back the same day. So laundry isn't really available unless you have a minimum 3 night stay. Laundry pickup should be possible by 6pm & delivery guaranteed for the next morning even if this were at a greater cost. It meant I had to do my own laundry in a laundrette nearby and I specifically chose the hotel because I'd been here before & they show they have laundry facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff kindness
Cons: Noise coming from above apartments
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming and friendly staff
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was very clean. Our room had a large bathtub. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast buffet was great.
Cons: It was a long walk to the old city center. Around 20 minutes. The room had no insulation. I could hear EVERYTHING. From above to our next door neighbors. All hours of the night. Furniture moving, a loud raucous party down the hall at 4am. Foot steps. The kitchen had nothing in it as it had advertised.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff. Especially Sheila. Spoke English well and helped me find local services.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The most important thing, however, was the cleanliness of both the room and the beds as well as the bathroom.
Cons: We did not like the area that the hotel is located. It is not close to bars and restaurants.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good facilities, clean and comfortable
Cons: Location , quite a way out of town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Just stayed one night as a stop off on the way home from a visit to the Picos de Europa. Really nice hotel, has private parking but just parked bike outside main door. Staff all friendly and guy on reception really helpful. Reasonably near to centre with bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was really good with a good selection. If I return to Leon wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Cons: The weather, poured down when I was out n about.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast and excellent helpful information and tips from Luis Costa made our stay in Leon especially good. All facilities in the room to self cater if you wished to and a really spacious room and bathroom.
Cons: The hotel was a little further from the town centre than we would have liked but Luis did advise of a couple of local bus options that enabled us to get into the city centre quickly and inexpensively. We had to ask at reception for our self catering cutlery, crockery, glassware etc which we felt was odd as it advised as self catering and we would have expected the items to be in the room not delivered after we asked for them.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming let us in at 9 in the morning. Had the best breakfast l’v had on the Camino so fresh lots of variety.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel just steps away from the cathedral. The room was large with plenty of room to spread out, and was lined with floor to ceiling windows so we could full take in the view. Our room included two balconies and a solarium-perfect for enjoying a book or drink at the beginning and end of the day.
Cons: One thing to be aware of is that the shower is very small (typical corner shower for budget European hotels). Not a huge deal but can make shaving awkward.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This place was in an excellent location, close to many sites in León, and close to the Camino. Staff was kind and knowledgeable. Breakfast was good.
Cons: You could tell this place was once grand but some of the luster has rubbed off. It could be great again. The room felt a bit dated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, people were friendly, room was okay.
Cons: A bit noisy, due to the traffic
