Staff were excellent and advised us of a car park straight out the front (free) when it became available.
position no kettle
historical building parking
Room's Terrace was great for evening smoking. Very close to historic site. Good restaurants in close proximity. Nice bar and breakfast area. Quaint square at front door.
Central location great. Bathroom could have been of a better standard
valet parking could improve the parking immensily
location and quality
Close proximity to town centre. Breakfasts were great and varied to suit all tastes. Facilities were really clean and spacious. Love the historic touches throughout this ole palace. Possibly the heavy dense cigar smoke from some of the clients in the hotel bar which was a bit inhibitory to going in to use the facilities.
nice quiet place in the old centre of Caceres ,with a lot of opportunities to sitesee or enjoy a good diner . we couldn,t reach the hotel by car due to building, and if we could have reached it, the tennent told us there wouldn,t be any parkingspace ! very anoying when you arrive late in the evening with two little children. No problem if you know in advance, so this should be on the website
Location absolute impossible parking possibilities and no valet parking
--Nicely decorated --Clean rooms --Good facilities --Modern hotel --Convenient location --Friendly and helpful staff --No breakfast included with the hotel rate and the breakfast on site was expensive (12 euros). --We requested a queen bed and got two single beds pushed together.
Very efficient reception staff, large comfortable room, spacious underground car park that was reasonably priced as is the hotel itself. Sadly only one member of staff on reception who although pleasant was unable to clear the queue of people trying to book in, and ask questions about where to eat as the hotels own cafeteria and restaurants were closed due to a private booking!! A very hot August night was hot made any more comfortable by the poor air con in the room which took several hours to reach a reasonable temperature.
very near to the historic centre, literally a two minute walk. Staff very helpful and polite
Modern, great family room, next to historic centre.
Within walking distance of Plaza Mayor. Parking garage available and Wifi was very good. The detail to cleaning could have been better. It wasn't perfect but wasn't bad.
Great value. Modern, spacious rooms. Hard to find, even with gps as it had no door number listed on the website. I drove right past it the first time. The website should also tell you to park in the public parking under the hotel then take the elevator up to reception.
very smart modern hotel, on the edge of a most interesting old town; but difficult to find.
The Plaza Mayor was inaccessible due to relaying of the entire surface of the square.

Caceres is a beautiful city and this new hotel is right near to the main medieval square..extremely comfortable and very new.
Really nice hotel, very comfortable & in an excellent location for the city's key sights. Would stay here again & definitely recommend it.
We were extremely impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the hotel.
Quite and Relaxing Modern Hotel with large room about 10 mins walk to the shops/sites. Good car park under the hotel but quite expensive.
Outstanding value. High quality rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. Garage parking.
The bar was extremely poor quality , the room was good and breakfast was good. Above
The breakfast buffet was excelent, always with a selection of fresh fruit, different kinds of bread and products from the region, from marmelades to sausages. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is excellently located, near the entrance of the city and at a 10 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor, the main town square. Most of the signs in the hotel are only written in Spanish, what makes it difficult to non-Spanish speakers to 'navigate' through the hotel.
Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff. Reasonable location for exploring the historic city. Teh restaurant and piano bar were closed when we stayed there. We were not told about this before hand and there weren't any nearby restaurants.
Close to city centre, rooms were tidy. It was quite in the room, no noises from other rooms or corridor
Very nice staff. Good location for walking around the city. No
yes, the cot for my baby were broken and very old.
Pleasant Hotel, 10 mins. walk to Bus and Train stations and Caceres. Had good cafeteria attached
The breakfast, very extensive and good.
Very nice hotel but lists as a spa but the spa is closed on Mondays. We were on a long road trip (3500kms) and were really looking forward to a spa break...should have been noted in the hotel details.
Close to motorway; view of sunset and countryside. Fascinating close-up view of storks' nests on poles with sound effects. We suggest this is best suited to a single overnight stop en route, but at a cost. Facilities very limited in this apparently deserted hotel. Swimming pool closed indefinitely, restaurant opening days limited. Room small and lacking chairs and space for hanging. Huge car park, ours the only car - felt slightly spooky. Extortionate charge for Internet - really it was an extra room charge, payable per day, as every other hotel we have used offers free Internet (even the budget ones).
very friendly and customer minded hotel. Hotel hasa lot of potential to grow as it has all the facilities. rooms are very basic and functional but are missing some character. booked a deluxe room but this has no view at all. Upgraded to a junior suite which was larger but to my opinion not really a junior suite The swimming pool is very small and located at the entrance of the hotel close to the highway. Limited numbers of chairs. For me this is a ****L instead of a ***** hotel.
information about location of the hotel. no exact address.
It's beautiful. Very nice and professional staff.
the pool was lovely and the stay very comfortable trying to find it was tricky, the could do with reading booking.com feedback as it seems many people would benefit from a bigger sign from the road!
As we were alone at the hotel, with I believe only one member of staff, it was new, beautiful, but a bit isolated Isolated and extremely quiet - not a problem, but as we only stayed one night, maybe unfair to comment
Very comfortable room and excellent location for exploring the area. The hotel is out of town and we stayed three nights. We believe it needs a more informal dining room, to add to the excellent restaurant (which is too elaborate to eat in every night).
Serene, elegant, clean and lovely. The hotel restaurant did not serve lunch so we had to drive into town for lunch. A bit of a hassle as we were tired - but only a small issue.
Excellent service, great value for money. Staff is very nice, thoughtfull and helpfull.
Its a friendly very relaxing hotel, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are very helpful.
Nothing in particular...ordinary chain hotel. But;staff cannot speak English...none of them! The swimming pool.....green alge all over.It does not fit the image of hotel
Easy to find from the motorway with good underground carpark. Large rooms and good breakfast. Outside pool area closed for the winter, although weather still sunny 26 degrees in early October.
Very quiet hotel and area. Very good price for the its quality. The hotel should review its smoking policy in the lounge area.
Luxurty spacious hotel room and excellent breakfast
free parking if you get there early hotels needs an update as soon as possible.
Staff spoke very little English.
Everything. The hotel is very good. Everything is good.
Clean and comfortable, easy to find, easy to Park, staff is nice Distance from city center is the only thing I can point out.
Easy to find off the main road from Seville/Salamanca and plenty of parking. High standards at a reasonable price with large comfortable rooms A bit far from the old town but we knew it was not a city centre hotel. The walk down into town was further than we thought but a taxi back was very reasonable. Just a minor point
Great hotel unfortunately Playa Mayor, the reason for staying at hotel, was a building site. I would not recommend staying her until the work is completed I should have been informed of the renovations to the Playa Mayor. It was noisy throughout the day and looked an eyesore. Had I known I would have removed this stay from my tour itinerary.
Great location and lovely room and hotel Bed was not a double and 2 beds moved quite easily. Water from tap smelled bad.
Very nice and clean hotel. Modernized facility. Good Breakfast at very good rate. Unfortunately, currently the Plaza Mayor is being torn up and renovated. The hotel is on the Plaza and what would normally be a Primo location, is now impossible to drive to on gps and has jackhammer noise. The hotel staff were excellent at changing my room to one in the rear. And there is a way of driving to the side of the hotel - but they have to tell you.
We liked the hotel and found it clean and comfortable. The staff were most helpful and friendly The location of the hotel is excellent The food was very good We did not like the type of glass door (part opaque)to the on suite facilities, it afforded little privacy when using the toilet. The shower head drenched the room when used. It was unfortunate that the Plaza Mayor was dug up but we appreciate that was out of the control of the hotel
Splendid location on the Plaza Mayor/nice brakfast/very friendly staff Difficult to find when arriving by car,it's better to park the car immediatly at the parking and have a short walk with the luggage (200 m)
Friendly Staff Noisy
Great location No hot water. You should tell us about the parking arrangements before we arrive.
location bed rolls away from wall when you sit up against headboard; couldn't read.
location on main plaza, very nice rooms no parking, had to park several blocks away. Beds hard - seems to be typical of Europe!
The coffee served at breakfast was disgusting
It has a modern, spacious design and our room was large and comfortable. Location is good for the center of town and the more scenic parts are five minutes' walk away. There's a magnificent view of the town and surrounding countryside from the roof terrace. The hotel is on a narrow, shabby back street that's used as a high-speed short cut and whose pavements are intermittently blocked by scaffolding; but this will be temporary, as the neighborhood is clearly being renovated.
Location and cleanleness Bar closed before 11PM
tidy, good service, large room. rooms nothing special - not bad but not amazing. average / acceptable for money.appears to have facilities for wheelchair which is very uncommon in southern spain. great town though.
Its proximity to the old town and all its attractions and dining oportunities plus in house parking we were not advised that the premier dining room required reservations, which meant we had to go elsewhere.
Close to old town Parking is tricky. Small room.
nice hotel and room, overall walls between rooms are not soundproof (at all)
Location for old town, Secure parking for motorcycles, good size rooms.
Location, big rooms and confortable beds, you will have a good night sleep for sure!
We stayed at the AH Agora during a trip to see the ancient town of Caceres. The hotel is modern and in an excellent location between the modern new town and the old town. Staff were friendly and helpful and even parked and retrieved our car from the underground car-park (pay-parking). Breakfast was good. We didn't take any other meals in the hotel; lots of restaurants in the nearby Plaza Mayor. A couple of English language TV news channels would be a bonus.
beautiful hotel in peaceful location with good pool and wifi it is a spanish hotel and not on a usual tourist route so a knowledge of spanish would be useful-but the staff are friendly and helpful
The hotel building is keeping historical outlook, but the inside is renewed, clean and comfortable. Recommend Half-Pension option, which is reasonable price, food quality is good enough. Maybe some more English speaking staff?
Everything was perfect. Cosy and quiet small town in the center of countryside - ideal place to relax for bored city residents. Pleasant interiors. Nice swimming pool. Nearby there are some walking routes along Extremadura's countryside. Of course, you have to get the car to reach that town. Nice restaurant with amazing local specialties. The food was fresh and delicious. For cheese gourmet I recommend to taste the first item in the menu (all the menu is in Spanish as long as nobody in the restaurant speaks english - ask for "quesa cremosa" - wonderfull local cheese)
Beautifully restyled 15c monastery-very tastefully done and a great place to stay.Despite comments below, we would look forward to staying here again Great to have PC in our room (with mega screen) but staff not pc literate and struggled to get emails working-they were trying hard to be very helpful though! Dinner was designer (ie small portions!!) but tasty- but service amateurish. The sole waitress avoided eye contact with new diners, so we just seated ourselves and waited until she decided it was our turn to receive the verbal menu. Shame as it is a beautiful dining room, spoiled by poor staff training
Excellent service and friendly staff. Free Parking. The only restaurant in the hotel and the whole town does not open the door for dinner until 9pm.
It would have been very quite had there not been a funfair going on.This we were told only happens once a year . Its location as it is in the middle of nowhere--- no shops, coffee shops, or anything of interest to visit---- none of the staff spoke one word of English.
The building and its location are fabulous. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were all very friendly and their spoken english was good. Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable. We only stayed one night but would very much like to return for longer.
Very peaceful tranquil setting in a very pretty village. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and polite. The choice at breakfast was very good. The evening meal was served by only one woman who though trying her best was overwhelmed by the numbers dining.
Great Hotel, fabulous building in a special village square. Enjoyment added to by the May day festival going on in the village
Room & balcony N/A
It was in the heart of the old city. It was very comfortable and clean. The hotel was interesting in itself as a historical building with our bathroom part of the old chapel. The staff were very helpful and could speak English. It was a good experience.
Service, location, staff, meals and the beauty of the place.
The hotel is a querky and unusual conversion retaining much of the character of its history. It ic centrally places and convenient for access to the old city. It was reasonably priced very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We want to return. none
Well situated adjacent to old city. Hotel very quiet, clean and comfortable with interesting historical atmosphere. Very good dinner menu and buffet breakfast was excellent. Car access to the hotel was difficult, due to complicated one-way system in the city and pedestrianised streets adjacent to hotel. In fact Google route information was inaccurate in that it suggested it was possible to drive up to the hotel front door, when this could only be done by contacting the city police via telephone.
Atmosphere and style were excellent - it had almost a home -like feel.Breakfast was good and the terrace for an evening meal really pleasant. As this is a new hotel it is not signposted in the town and was difficult to find with a car in the one way system - worth it when we did find it.
good staffs , spacious and clean room. nice atmosphere. good location for taking a walk in the old town of Ca'ceres. parking is a little bit far, if you go by the car and find the colume, just aproach the small column, it starts to go down .
Excellent location No bad points
Very nice staff. Central location. Not ideal for people with cars, nor a location for handicapped people. Staff were very nice. Hotel itself needs repairs and better supervision. Lock on first room did not lock. Lamps in jacuzzi in 2nd room fell off in the bath. Absolutely no presence in the breakfast room after coffee served. Plenty of potencial as a good Hotel just needs some help. Dealt with complaints professionally and to our satisfaction so no critisism not to use their services. Feel free to ohone us on 0041617313152 for details.
We found the staff very helpful. It was rather noisy in the evenings.
In the centre of the town. Near to restaurants and bars. An absolute advantage is the secure parking available. A must have in this town.
Great location. Helpful staff Small bathroom but very clean
A fascinating hotel with great character in the best possible sense. Brilliantly located 3 minutes walk from the old town. Very helpful staff who spoke great English. They automatically e-mailed me very detailed accurate parking instructions within an hour of the booking. My GPS (Garmin) took me straight to the address of the car park. Human navigators might find it a bit more challenging. A very adequate Spanish breakfast. Would love to go back. Nothing.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very nice, with good facilities and a comfortable bed. The hotel is situated very close to all the sights. We would definitely stay there again. The breakfast could have been more substantial.
We found the city a wonderful surpise and the hotel was well located. The ease of parking in a city garage was very helpful. Value for money was great.
Good location, as the world heritage site as well as the city center are in the walking distance. Contents of the continental breakfast are good and well considered.
Hotel Don Carlos is a nice small hotel located very close to the walled old city of Caceres. Our room was very nice. It also has a garage a short distance away which is important in picking a hotel within an old city. The Plaza Mayor is under major construction (2010) which makes the location of Hotel Don Carlos, a few blocks southwest, especially desirable at this time. Nothing noted.
Well situated Limitesd satellite TV
Nice situation in a nice town. Comfortable and stylish hotel. Finding the hotel and parking nearby was near impossible not helped by streers being closed for repair work.
Central location in city. Parking 200m from hotel, which is not accessible by car; difficult to find despite instructions; loud bar directly beneath bedrooms.
Easy access to a range of shops, restaurants, and only a short walk from the old town. Very clean and modern hotel with everything in working order.
Rooms were bigger than others we stayed in. Hotel is easy walk to old/interesting part of town. Wifi was not working when we were there & there seemed to be no sense of urgency to get it fixed. This was one of the key reasons we booked & was a big disappointment. When we came back to Caceres later in the trip we stayed at the Hotel Don Carlos & it was much better.
The credit card machine did not work and I had to pay cash for the room.
Very freindly front desk staff on check in and departure. Organised taxi to train station early sunday morning.
This is a very good place to stay. Close to shopping areas and the historic sites of the city. It is a little hard to find. The hotel sign says Alcantra, but the actual name is Husa Alcantra. Also the street Number in the address is 14, but the actual one is 12. Hotel does not have parking but free street parking is available.
Good location Bathroom was smelly
Very close to city center Pleasant neighbourhood No english speaking channels (or other foreign speaking languages), particularly CNN or Sky News
The courtesy if the staff. The room heating system used poor quality air which gave me a bronchial infection.
Friendly access to the old quarter of the city, friendly helpful staff, excellent cafeteria and affordable prices. no
For the price an excellent deal. A good location for visiting the city. Helpful and pleasant staff. Highly recommended as a budget hotel.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, despite our language barrier! The 1euro breakfast was amazing value. Unfortunately our room was very noisy due to inconsiderate neighbours playing tv till 6am so we got little sleep and had a long drive the next day. The walls appeared to be constructed only of boarding and so were very thin.
There was perfect breakfast for only 1 euro, It takes 20-30 minutes to reach the city center.
The shuttle to airport and return to vairpot excelent.
Pleasant staff. Ample breakfast but limited choice Plaza Mayor is being dug up and is fenced off until 2016 so hotel's location has nothing to compensate for 5 minutes walk from 10 Euro per night car park
The hotel's location is in the middle of the city. Considering the room prices, this makes it worthwhile. For those traveling by car, the hotel could be a bit of an incovenience, particularly if you have a lot of luggage, because you have to walk a brief distance down from the closest parking garage to the hotel.
I will always return to this hotel when I am in Caceres.
