Staff were extremely helpful. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Staff could not have more helpful and cheerful. Our view from the balcony was beautiful. Great breakfast. We were extremely pleased with our four night stay. Visits to Varenna and Bellogio(sp?) were easy by train and boat. Wonderful area!
Good location, good breakfast. Incompetent service. We asked the receptionist to suggest some restaurant for dinner. She did list three. Turned out that we couldn't reach any of the restaurants (after 1.5 hour of walking around and looking for them) as the whole city center was blocked because of some conference. Even though the hotels were informed about this blockage in advance, the receptionist did not mention it! Otherwise it's a fairly decent hotel that seems to be used mostly for corporate events and retreats.
Friendly and helpful staff, good location and very clean and well kept hotel.
eccellant location use of the internet
wanderful lake vew
Great location and comfortable rooms.
I liked everything. nothing
Nice clean hote helpfull staff.
Location, location. Views are fantastic and still close to Lecco town centre Restaurant very expensive
Excellent location with a lake view; very comfortable bed and neat room all together. Breakfast could've been better; restaurant/bistro the service/ staff/ food and value for money was bad. Spare some time to go out and find some lovely place for a meal rather then staying in.
Nice room and view but given the unfriendly staff and bad service wouldn't recommend it to anyone
very personable staff...spotless, new and modern rooms, wonderful view of the lake and Lecco (across the lake from Hotel Griso)...convenient location to all spots on Lake Como and other cities..Bergamo airport and Milano No room service.
The room was fantastic and the bed absolutely wonderful, I slept so well, the place was very clean and beautiful view of Lake Como.
Quality and value for money The bar and restaurant were excellent but empty.
The staff was very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast is ok for Italy. Rooms were very clean. For us it was perfectly situated ... however be aware town has very small (but Lecco on walking distance)
Hotel Griso is perfectly situated across the Lake from the lovely little town of Lecco. The rooms have the most wonderful view across the lake to the mountains. Great comfort and fantastic value for money. The staff are superb and we believe this is because the hotel manager is wonderful with his staff, creating a very happy work environment. Loved our 5 days there. Great restaurant upstairs
The room, is very nice, big and comfortable. All rooms with balcony, an great view. The location is great, right at the lake, and goes everywhere. The breakfeast is very good as well. And has a parking place. Would stay again. The staff is not nice or helpfull, but apparently, in Italy, that is very commom. The restaurant is closed on sundays, and it is quite expensive.
The view from the room's terrace was exceptional. The room was very spacious and very clean and it was actually much nicer than we thought it would be. The breakfast was fantastic, a very good standard, a great variety and enjoying breakfast whilst over looking the lake from the 6th floor dinning room was a really great start to the day. The staff were professional but not very friendly.
hotel is nice and comfortable.Price and service are good not very easy to reach
That i could check out very early. No
room was small but clean. i needed an overnight stay for an early flight out of bergamo but it was a difficult drive up the mountain so not convenient for me
Selvino is a very nice little city. It was a great pleasure to stay there. Hotel is also very nice. Staff is pleasent and kind. Thank you! Difficult to reach Bergamo from there especially without a car. But for me it is not a very big problem.
Nice view from hotel room
The accommodations were OK for one night. We picked the hotel for its proximity with ergamo Orio de Serio Airport. The problem is that the last 10km to the hotel are on a very twisty road as you are going up to 1000m of altitude. So if you are not at ease driving on a very twisty road don't go here.
the area was very good and noisiness
The location: is very far from Bergamo Airport, and the journey is very stressing, because you can only get there by taxi (if from the hotel, costs 35 euros. If not, around 90 euros) - This is the called "shuttle service" of the hotel -not for free, and takes almost 1 hour, on a dangerous road, down the mountain.
hotel staff were difficult to find, advertised full english breakfast wasnt included, and not a fault of the hotel but other travelers need to know that it would cost 70 euros for taxi from bergamo airport, there is a cheaper way if you got the shuttle bus to bergamo and went to stand 3 and get a bus to ALBINO and a shuttle mini bus to albino finivia a cable car will take you to selvino for about 12 euros per couple, bear in mind the last cable car leaves at 19.17, out of season it is just a weekend resort no pubs or bars open
It was quiet, totally a mountain refugee It was little bit away and all the restaurants in the village were closed after 9pm.
Nice location, good instructions received how to find the hotel. Nice Spa
staff were very helpfull and friendly, food and spa was excellent no dislikes
The pasta is great. The view and the atmosphere (small, friendly village) is exceptional. Service was personal. About 45 minutes from airport and from Bergamo. Small parking lot.
The family-owned atmosphere is great. It's in a beautiful loation and the family shows great care in maintaining a clean, friendly hotel. Pillows were too hard. This is the only complaint I have.
The localization of the Hotel were perfect in terms of landscape. The breakfeast that should start to be served at 7:30am was never ready at that time.
location of the hotel
The hotel was perfect for a weekend break, we particularly enjoyed the spa facility and stopped an extra night.
The service employees were wonderful!!
Its quiet location and breathtaking view
Excellent location right on the lake and in the centre of town. Wonderfully helpful and friendly owner and staff - a real family feel and welcome. Hotel is very clean, up to date and comfortable. Would recommend. Parking can be difficult, but this is not the fault of the Hotel.
four of us stayed at this hotel, it was excellent....rooms were a good size and very clean, the staff were very helpful, we used it as a base for going to the grand prix and visiting the moto guzzi museum, we found it to be in an excellent location
the room was clean, had a lovely view and the staff were very helpful. It was just ideal for a short break and the location was great.
The staff at the Hotel Alberi were wonderful. It had a safe and comfortable feeling. It was like staying with family. The hotel was also located in the center of Lecco which was so great. The bed was hard.
Well situated, good for overnight stay, staff were helpful. Breakfast was basic, but coffee good.
The location in Lecco old town and the excellent service provided by the family who run the hotel. -
Nice room, Hotel very clean,Good position for the lake and town center,Room cleaned every day,Staff very friendly, easy access to all floors,Lift,Breakfast Adequate. None
We just loved this small family run hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them, the breakfast was good, the room spacious with lovely views, fridge, safe, all you needed. Right in the centre with lots of restaurants and lovely shopping areas. Will definitely go there again.
Nice, clean and big room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Very simple breakfast. The traffic outside made it impossible to stay very long at the balcony because of the noise.
Staff were lovely, and the hotel was in a great location overlooking the lake
The view of the mountains off the balcony was amazing. Room was very clean and well equipped. The town is quaint and very humble. It is quite tricky to get to (driving). We showed up at night and didn't realize it was on a mountain. Although well worth the trip, it is located a fair ways from the airport and in the dark, the signs can be tricky. Show when it's light so you can get a nice meal in town. Nice place to stay, but make sure to bring a detailed map beforehand and even ask for directions to avoid any wrong turns
staff, room, only sweet breakfast
The fantastic view over the mountains from the room. Only sweets & fruits for breakfast.
nicely appointed room could not find it easily in the dark, further away from Bergamo airport than stated in the web description, noisy (street noise and interior noise), uncomfortable beds
Friendly staff, good breakfast, although we requested it at 06:30!! Bit far from Airport, and difficult driving at night.
Comfortable room, friendly owner, excellent restaurant. Quiet resort in clean air environment. Only Italian channels on the TV
The service is excellent and the restaurant is very good. The family and staff running the hotel are committed to quality. Especially if you speak even a few words italian you soon feel almost like a family member. We were positively surprised. Picturesque village and beutiful scenery.
On business I use about 90-100 hotels per year. Most are very good as I choose them with care but this is the first hotel that I have fallen in love with for its warmth. The location is stunning the decor for me was classic and I adored the tiny touch's that showed a care beyond the norm. The Hostess is elegant and the Host is wonderfully charming the service superb. It was such a shame I was on business but I will return again for a short holiday later in the year. Winter must be magical!! This did not affect me because I planned it this way, but this hotel is a very steep drive up a mountain so transport is vital.
The fantastic location in the mountains and the excellent service from the friendly hotel staff. No.
It's very quiet and confortable place to stay. The hotel is very tastefully furnished, the rooms are spacious and clean. Church bells, which are very very heard, since the hotel is right next to the church, so if you are staying with a small child or if you want peace, ask for a room on the other side of the church, which actually overlooks the terrace.
Stunning location. Quite a distance from Bergamo, hire car needed.
Stayed with my wife as not expensive solution from Milano to Verona. The room is clean but not big and without balcony. The breakfast tasty but poor just coffee fruits and snakes. Difficult to find without GPS and far from main road. Use it only if you planning to trip around.
Owner are on site and in charge of activities with great care for customers. NO
Everything was brilliant, but especially the friendly welcome. We were made to feel really at home, and they were always keen to help us. They treat everyone as individuals and it is very personal.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. Limited breakfast. Your wakeup call is every day at 7 am without ordering, the church with really noisy bell is next house and it really beats you out of the bed!
It was one of the best vacations I had - the childhood ones being the "competitors". Efficient, friendly, well-organized staff that became my family away from home and hopefully life-time friends. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect: the place where some of the hiking paths originate, the bus stop is right in front of the door, the bridge across the river as you step out of the front door. The food in the hotel's restaurant is delicious, but for those interested in a "home- made" sandwich the grocery store is down the grocery store. The hotel is decorated with taste and has a very personal, distinct feel! All in all an amazing place. The people at the "Papa" hotel are the most welcoming, competent, professional, patient.
convenience to tourist sites & ease of parking
This is a family owned and operated hotel and the entire family works to ensure the comfort of each guest. The service was excellent and Signore Giorgio provides excellent suggestions on excursions in the nearby countryside. He is a wealth of information on activities and things to do and see in the area. Also, the food in the restaurant was excellent. We stayed at the Papa for a week while bicycling in the area and had an excellent stay. Signore Giorgio is very knowledgable of the cycling in the area and offered helpful suggestions and options for routes. All in all and excellent hotel for a very good value in a lovely location.
Location is great...Food was also good. Note Breakfast is continental with limited choice.
I liked absolutely everything! The location is excellent, the food was better than somewhere else and the owners were really amazing people. They create the atmosphere where you just want to return again and again. And thanks for the bikes - amazing moments and gorgeous views!
the owner was very helpfull even it was in the middle of the night I arrived
Undoubtedly the stay was memorable for the owner/manager and his excellent helpfulness and hospitality. He is a gem of a guy. Breakfast was good. San Pellegrino itself has loads of character and a pizzeria across the road from the hotel which was excellent. Can't really complain. Maybe a bit cold at night in room (23rd Oct) and room a back and a bit dark but hey it was only 60 Euros. Also table cloths used as towels was a bit bizarre.
The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Made every effort to help with any questions/directions about the area. Room with balcony was overlooking the lake and mountains.
It is a family owned and run hotel with the owners taking obvious pride in their establishment. They were extremely helpful to us during our stay. The views were absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Our stay was was too short..
Directly on the lake with a great view. Hotel restaurent was closed but received a great recommendation for a nice Pizzeria nearby!
The view of the lake. The rooms are big
Very friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous view of the lake, and excellent value for the price.
This was a jewel. It was a most lovely place to stay - excellent in every way. The rooms had been refurbished lately and were reasonably sized and were spick and span. The room opened on to small balcony from where we could look at the lake and high cliffs across a narrow road. The good breakfast was in a room with big windows through which we could look at business people windsurfing on the lake before work, launching almost from the front door. There are three restaurants and a great coffee place close by, including the El Terrazzo which is bit pricey but has good food and a perfect location beside the lake - highly recommended. There is bus every hour or so into Lecco across the lake. The owners are outstandingly courteous and helpful - they even gave us a lift to the Lecco railway station when they were taking their son to the train (saving the 15 euro taxi ride). All in all, this place is a jewel.
There is no doubt that the family who run the hotel make it a wonderful experience and that together with the location make it perfect. Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!1
Very friendly staff, good food, helpful, good breakfast, great views over the lake. Distance from the town for walking out for a drink or food.
Very nice staff and good atmosphere. Beautiful views on Lake Como.
Great view, clean room No air conditioning, and it was quie hot
Well sized rooms, friendly and serviceminded staff, good restaurant and bar, central location in the village
The friendly staff. The Hotel.
Large room size, friendly staff Nothing to dislike
Quaint little town, great scenery, friendly people, staff. Someone spoke English. Helpful
LOCATION / RESTURANT FOR EVENING MEAL GOOD/ STAFF VERY NICE. BREAKFAST WAS OK. BUT NO FRUIT .AND THE WAITING STAFF DID NOT HAVE A VERY GOOD ATTITUDE. COMPARED TO THE SUPERB ATTITUDE OF RESTURANT STAFF AT NIGHT.
The surrounding area is very beautiful. rooms were good, hotel staff very friendly - we arrived late at night, when there were nobody in the hotel, however the owner thought about that and left us a note and keys to our rooms at the entrance table! We were very happy as we were prepared to sleep in the car. also the breakfast was good and fresh - very nice overall Again, it is only about the road. gps didnt know where to go. at last when we were at the neighboring village it found the hotel, but 7 minutes to hotel it for some reason chose the old road, *not paved and very dangerous*. If your gps does the same - do not listen! If I remember correctly, instead of turning left on Pagafono as it suggests - just continue on the road you are driving at the moment.
The service by the owners son, Stephano was first class and his good english was a bonus. He is also an excellent chef and the meals there were first class. I would highly recommend this hotel but it is a bit out of the way and therefore very quiet. But great for a quiet break.
The staff was nice and the room was clean and quite. Food in the restaurant was also good. The location is remote. Plan on spending at least two nights there. While there plan on walking and being in nature.
this is a worth-price hotel. the owner Gianni was so kind and helpfull, he even cooked for us at 10.30 pm. the panaromic view of hotel was great. the road to hotel might discourage you but its worth to travel
Excelent Reception quick Registration good Breakfast The hotel located on a little isolated villige on a high mountain and the way to arrive it is quiet complicated and a bit dangerous to arrive by dark ....
The food is amazing. The owner is a very friendly person. The views are beautiful. The air is pure and fresh. The water is like spring water.
Steffano was brilliant! His English was great and he cooked for us even when the restaurant was officially closed! The food was fantastic too!
It was fine!
What a gem of a place to stay. The hotel was situated in a beautiful location, with fantastic views. The staff were very helpful, especially Stefano, who spoke excellent English, and produced some fantastic food. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The welcome was a good as ever recieved. Arrieved at 10.30 pm and the owner made us dinner. Buetiful bottle of barola (€18).
friendly staff and very helpful excellent view over lake quite isolated a car is required
Morning receptionist spoke english understandably. The Manager did not listen or understand the problem with balcony door. The door jammed couple of times. The desk clerk said no-one can come to look the problem. Then the Manger came yelling that I (60+) have handled the door carelessly and taped a paper to the window saying that any reparatures will be charged. When the door was closed next time, it jammed again. I told to the receptionist to have a meeting with the manager next morning. Soon a service-fellow came to see the window. He gave instructions how to avoid jamming, and said there is something wrong with the mechanism (with few english words). After that I did not open the sliding door anymore. The evening was spoiled. I am not complaining but tell what I experienced.
The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The location wasn't brilliant, you needed a car.
The location and view. I was incredibly insulted by the manager. My train was delayed and we arrived 10 mins over the close time of 11.30 at night. He yelled at us about being late even though he knew we had a late flight. I will not ever stay here again due to this incident.
The care and asistance given by the staff - second to none. The room was very spacious and comfortable with excellant views of the lake.- especially important for a long stay Although next to a 'main' road it was peaceful. Rail station opposite the hotel. Excellant light snacks at the Hotel Very few facilities within walking distance of the hotel. Virtually no night life in the vacinity of the Hotel. Necessitated using the car although the railway station was just over the road which we used on a day visit to Milan. Effectively a hotel for people with their own transport. Especially neeeded to access resteraunts
